    All Meat Pizza

Love this place!!! Was the best pasta I've had in a restaurant! The pizza was amazing! The crust is AMAZING!!! A lot of drinks available including beer and wine. My family raved on and on about the pizza! Has an old diner feel like in New York. Quaint, but comfortable. They have a lot of variety on their menu. Kabobs n such too. The staff are friendly and seem very busy with take-out. Clean restrooms. Parking lot parking.

    Medium pepperoni pizza

I haven't been to A-Town Pizza since high school when it was on San Antonio & Park so I can't really compare it to how it was back then. But honestly, we got exactly what we were expecting from a pepperoni pizza. Flavor profile and all. Im usually the type to be able to eat a whole pizza to myself but I feel like this pizza was just "heavier" than others, and I mean no disrespect when I write that. The crust was risen and fluffy and it had the pools of grease from the pepperonis. Id order again and next time I'm trying their signature pizza with 20 toppings.

This is our favorite pizza spot. It hits so good everytime. It's our tradition everytime we come back from Mexico we need our regular A town combo extra large pizza with jalapeños pepperoni and black olives. yummmy

    Medium Calzone
    Steve D.

This place is my longtime favorite place for pizza. Today I ordered a medium calzone! A calzone is often described as a folded pizza, a pizza turnover, or an inside-out pizza. The calzone I got looked like a huge turnover shaped like a crescent moon. I wasn't sure how to slice it, so I cut it into 4 pieces. A medium calzone is about $14.95, and has 4 fillings. I asked for pepperoni, mushrooms, olives, and mozzarella cheese. It was good, it was like eating a pie. Seemed a little dry because the dough is on the outside. I'll do some research, and maybe try other fillings next time. I picked up my order in person.

Pictures can be deceiving. What they advertise looks sooo good vs what they give you lies. Low score well justified.

I ordered the Iga Saos Kacang ($30) and the 3-pc. lumpia ($12). The Iga Saos Kacang came with two ribs served on a banana leaf with sweet rice, pickled vegetables, and bumbu kacang (peanut sauce). I also ordered the soda gembira ($4). The food and drink came out at the same time, at about 5 minutes. The ribs were phenomenal. They were tender, smoky, and paired incredibly well with the peanut sauce. The sauce itself had a really nice sweetness to it, complementing the richness of the beef without overpowering it. One fascinating discovery I've made about Indonesian food is just how prominent sweetness can be. Rather than treating a sweet component like the coconut rice as something to eat on its own, you're often meant to combine everything together, creating a flavor bomb with every bite. That's what makes Fikscue's concept so interesting to me. Texas-style barbecue is already heavily focused on smoke, seasoning, and the quality of the meat, while Indonesian flavors can bring in sweetness, nuttiness, spice, and acidity. The Iga Saos Kacang showed how naturally those two styles can work together. The lumpias were nicely fried and surprisingly filling on their own! I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who explained that the lumpias were a popular addition, with some customers ordering them by the dozens. They're filled with meat and vegetables and have a big, satisfying crunch. Just watch out for the oil! Coming from my own Vietnamese perspective, the soda gembira reminded me of Vietnamese soda sữa, minus the egg. Pandan and coconut flavors are familiar to me, but if you've never had pandan and coconut together, it's a wonderfully fragrant combination that's simultaneously creamy, sweet, and refreshing. The soda gembira was a particularly fun drink to have alongside the smoky, savory barbecue. Service was excellent as well. The staff were really nice and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Before it was my turn to order, I saw the staff engaging in Indonesian banter with the customers in front of me. It gave the restaurant a very warm, lived-in feeling that emulated the hospitality found in Indonesian culture. Fikscue is doing something genuinely unique by bringing together halal Texas-style barbecue and Indonesian cuisine. Add in the friendly service, and the long drive from the South Bay felt justified. If you're anywhere in the Bay Area and want to try something unique, Fikscue is worth the trip.

Fowl + Fare operates from a small storefront right next to the Shanvi Indian Grocery store on Santa Clara Ave (near Broadway). This place is either takeout or eat outside on picnic tables. I took my food to-go. I had the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich w/ Seasoned Fries. I liked the Citric Hot Chicken Sandwich. It was spicy, but not numbing hot. The slaw sort of smoothed out the spicy heat. It's made from thigh meat, so it's moist and easy to eat. I didn't like the seasoned fries. They cut the potatoes into thin fries that don't travel well as takeout. Probably okay if you ate them right there, fresh from the kitchen. If I go back, I'm just getting a sandwich.....no fries.

The seasoning on both were great, the tortilla was a bit on the crunchy or thick side but I liked it bc it didn't get soggy while I was eating. The process is easy, customers order at the window, pay, and wait outside where there are a couple tables to sit at while waiting for their orders. The main problem I found was the time it took to make a couple burritos. There were no customers in front of me and it took nearly thirty minutes to make two burritos. The other thing I noticed is the add ons really raised the price. The guacamole, etc are all extra charges on the the super burrito which in my eye makes no sense. Either it's a super or regular. Not super needing to have a ton of add ons to make it a super. But how was the burrito? Overall I thought the taste was good. Burrito was on the small side. But the ingredients seemed to be solid, and blended together nicely. Decent quality but for the price and wait time, I won't be rushing back.
