I highly recommend Video Game Repair! So my Playstation 5 stopped displaying on my TV this morning and I googled what could be the problem. Many many people said it must have a broken HDMI port. I googled the process of replacing the HDMI port, and after watching a couple YouTube videos, determined this repair is not in my skill set. So I called around to local Game Repair stores. I liked what Video Game Repair had to say, so I figured I'd give them a try. They're located right next to the airport and we're easy to get to. The guy at the counter was the same guy I talked to on the phone, so he already understood what was going on. I asked about the process and was a little hesitant to have someone soldering on my PS5. I've had it since day one and maybe a little sentimental. He assured me he'd handle it, it's no problem. He does so many of them he can pretty much do it blindfolded at this point. He then said, "Want to watch, I'm going to do it now." Yes! I sure do! After seeing those video's, it's going to be really interesting to see it in person. He began by tearing it apart. Which didn't take long at all. I can't believe how quick he got it apart, there were soooooo many screws, easily 50 of them. He then loaded all the parts on a cart, took them outside blew all the dust out with a air compressor, and used some brushes to get the really stubborn dust out. He then brought the parts back in, fired up his soldering equipment, removed the old port, which didn't look broken at all, installed the new one, spent 10 minuted cleaning off all the old liquid metal while he explained how important it is, and took his time perfectly reapplying the liquid metal, and reassembled the system enough to test, and sure enough, it works! He finished putting it back together, tested it one last time, let me know they warranty all their repairs, and sent me on my way. I got my repair and a show, and it only took him like an hour. I really am impressed with how efficiently he got it done. 5 stars! read more

So my PlayStation 4 took a shit and just gave me error codes. BUT when i go to check and disassemble everything to check. my screws are all different sizes it was very complicated to do. Honestly best place to get your console fixed, about 7-8 weeks ago, my Xbox wasn't reading my game disc and it got my game disc stuck, I tried to get it out but I ended up making my console not work, I called GameStop to double check to see if they do console repairs, they don't but they recommended Vegas Repairs and honestly thank you GameStop for recommending this place, now my Xbox is working good as new, I also recommend going to this place too, my Xbox repair was $130 which isn't bad imo (in my opinion) definitely a reasonable price, if you need a console repair, go this place and they'll take good care of you read more

This place is great. My PlayStation 4 kept running out of space, so I had to keep deleting and redownloading games. This was annoying but worked for a while. Now as many of you probably know, Cox Communications is charging overage for bandwidth, and this method is no longer viable. I contacted Video Game Repair, and their suggestion, bring it in, so they can replace the small 500GB hard drive, with a 2TB one. quadruple the space! They even said they could transfer all the data from my old hard drive to the new one! I decided to take them up on their offer. I took my system in to their store, which is small, and it's easy to see why, they only do repairs. Theres nothing to buy there. Anyways, the checkin process was very fast and simple. As soon as it was checked in, they began the backup process, which they said would take hours, seeing as the hard drive was completely full. They explained that after the backup was complete, they would install the upgraded drive, and restore all my information to the console, so it would be exactly like it was, just with 1.5 TB more space available. Well, they completed the process and called me to let me know it was ready. The whole process took about a day, and considering the hours it must have taken to backup the data, and the hours the transfer the data back, the turnaround time blows me away. A couple other things I noticed, the PS4 runs quieter now, and the disc drive seems to work better too. I think they performed some maintenance while they were servicing my PS4. The PS4 used to sound like a Vacuum, and now it's as quiet as the day I got it! I can't say enough how happy I am with them. They deliver fast, friendly service, and most importantly, they solved my problem. Great place. read more

I took in my son's Nintendo switch because it was not charging. I had already taken to a different shop and was told that they were able to repair it they didn't have proper tools to replace the broken part that I had to send it in to Nintendo. So I found out about this shop gave them a call and was told they would have to see it but it sounded like something they could fix. I found this place through Yelp. My playstation 3 stopped reading game discs one day and I literally googled every home method to fix it. No luck. What a blessing this place is! I thought I would have to shell out $180 to get a new one but these guys are AWESOME. I found out I had a broken disc drive and they repaired my system for $100. Here's why the $100 was worth it all: I was informed that if I had sent my system back to Sony, they would have tossed by broken system and just sent me a new one = LOSS OF HARD EARNED GAME DATA... had I bought a new system instead of fixing the one I have = LOSS OF HARD EARNED GAME DATA since there's no way of transferring my stuff to a new one. I understand that their business has been busy due to covid and everything but some aspects are ridiculous. First off when you call them it states that there is a turn around of 24 hours, if this is changed it needs to be changed on the phone. Second, it takes up to 5 days for them to even CHECK your system for a problem that doesn't even include the repair time so if you have a major issue it could take lord knows how long. Third of all, despite them being incredibly behind they still are taking more systems in. You would think if you were struggling to keep up with the ones you have, you would save future customers the time and drive there by ceasing to take in systems?? Overall I'm sure that the work they do is fine but in the time you get the system back I'm sure you could get a week's paycheck to buy a new damn system and get it mailed to you before they even know whats wrong with yours! read more

They replaced the fan, replaced the thermal compound, and completely cleaned it out. Now it works like new. The system was very noisy before, it sounded like a vacuum, now it's very quiet.
