The workers here were both very helpful and friendly. i had a problem with my gaming PC that is very different than others, it being an ITX form factor. I contacted the manufacture and they were no help. 1#day. drop the computer off at device docs and paid $65 to diagnose the software issue and said that they were going to swap parts to test for faulty hardware. 2#day they called me and said that I was missing a small piece and that the were going to replace it and test again 3#day they informed me that they had fixed the issues which was a missing CMOS battery, bios and driver issues. these guys went above and beyond in my opinion. they communicated well and were fairly quick even though they were slammed. very pleased read more

DON'T GO HERE! I brought in my laptop with a swollen battery. I was told 1-3 days. 6 days later, I was able to pick up my laptop. 25 days later, my laptop would not turn on. I took it to a local computer repair shop and they said it was the battery. They replaced it, and now my laptop has been working for over 2 months. I took the old battery back to Device Docs. I was told it must have been something else wrong with my laptop. I was told I would receive a call from the manager after 6 pm. After 2 weeks, no call was received, and a refund was not made to my credit card. If you want to deal with young men who don't care about their customers, who need a class in Customer Service #101, then please bring them your business. I took my computer with an overheating CPU to Device Docs and was charged a $65.00 diagnostic fee. I received my computer back the following day in what they claimed was working condition, but learned as soon as I got home that the overheating problem still existed. On the first visit they claimed to have reseated the CPU, reapplied thermal paste, and cleaned the case. I brought it back to Device Docs and had to argue with the employee because he wanted to charge me another $65.00 diagnostic fee for the same issue they never fixed in the first place! They eventually took my computer back and several hours later called to inform me that there was nothing further they could do, but if I wanted to buy a new CPU they could replace it for me. I then took my computer to another repair shop and within 24 hours they had it working. The tech I spoke with there said the issue was a cooler that had broken, and that it was a common issue and he couldn't believe the people at Device Docs failed to diagnose and fix it. The tech further stated that he had to strip and reapply all of the thermal paste that had been applied at Device Docs because they had done a poor job. Maybe Device Docs is better with phones or something, because they certainly do not know computers. If your computer is broken, take it to somewhere else that will actually fix it AND not charge you fees for being unable to fix your computer. read more

I dropped my iPhone. Despite being careful with everything I own, it seems like that's inevitable and bound to happen sooner or later. And I cracked the screen. Not one of my prouder moments. I needed a repair, and I needed it fast. My mother had mentioned this place which is fairly close to their house, and since I was coming to visit my parents for lunch anyhow, ran up there to get some info on fixing the screen on my iPhone 8. The guy who waited on me in there was very friendly and helpful, and told me it would cost $70 plus tax to fix, and it wouldn't be more than an hour and a half. That pretty much says it all! I had my phone back in the promised time frame, and for the price quoted. No complaints whatsoever. New phone screen looks great, and I'm back up and running! I've supported this business for far to long. I send family, friends & neighbors here, and I couldn't feel anymore embarrassed. Our family had them fix a couple things this past year, and each one wasn't 100% but hey I get it a cheap fix is a cheap fix. BUT I WILL NOT TOLERATE A COMPANY THAT LIES AND TAKES MONEY WITH OUT PROPER WORK DONE. My PS4 was dropped off on my bday Nov 20 to replace the HDMI PORT. I was told it's 39$ down and $60 when I pick up the unit. Work promised HDMI port replacement Unit cleaned inside Thermal paste replacement It's Dec 6 I picked up the unit and was told it's not operational because the mother board soldering points were faulty and splitting. I clean this PS4 twice a year usually depending on usage and fan loudness. I dust the whole unit inside and out and replace the thermal paste Myself so I'm familiar with the internals. I opened the unit to see the damage and only notice that nothing was cleaned nor was motherboard damaged naturaly, hdmi port connections seemed to be caused by attempting to repair. Thermal paste was old and dried (never changed) Unit had debri and dust still What was the $39 for exactly ? The last owner of this business sold it. The new owners have increased the prices and now charge an additional $60 hourly labor fee. Not only that, the service techs will do a half-assed job. Went in to get my graphics card cleaned with thermal pads and paste replaced. After I picked it up, the fans were still caked with dust. Probably didn't even replace the thermal pads and paste too. I emailed them and absolutely no reply after a full week. Basically got scammed. Avoid at all cost. New owners don't care about customer service or delivering the results they promise. Don't get scammed like I did and stay far FAR away from this place. This place deserves to go bankrupt. read more

These guys now go by "Device Docs" and I guess I got the other "Device Docs" since my experience from start to finish was very different than a lot of folks here apparently. The Kameron guy quoted a price for parts and install and then tells me he's going to give me $100 off the install in exchange for the parts being removed from my computer. Used parts, yes. Obviously. Used parts from a very much functioning computer. First red flag - calls and says they don't like my case and would need to sell me a new one for $120. Never mind that they want $35 more than I can get one online for, and that the old case was just fine but I say OK, shop needs to make a profit to operate of course, and go with it. We'll come back to the case. That story isn't over. AFTER we make the agreement and then AFTER he takes my money for the parts he orders for the build, he tells me there is this tiny, almost invisible smudge on the motherboard and because of that, they wouldn't honor the agreement since he would have to put these used parts into another build. Ok, rubbed me the wrong way but I said fine and proceed to put the MB in my box of stuff. He asks me what I am going to do with the MB and I tell him nothing. It's going to collect dust on a shelf. He proceeds to offer me $50 for the MB. But wait, a moment ago he said it was worth nothing to them so they renege on the original agreement and now, when he finds out I'm going to shelve it, it suddenly becomes worth $50? Snakes. Man talk about shifty practices. I wouldn't have anyone on my payroll that pulled a stunt like this with my customers. So - onto the new SSD that I didn't really need or want but let the guy talk me into it anyway BUT with the caveat that my current HD remain the primary. Guess what? I go to pick up the machine and they tell me they set up the SSD as the primary and now I will have to reinstall everything (2TBs worth) to be able to use the apps. Also guess what? It's a 500GB SSD. Now, don't you think that if you were going to talk a customer into buying an SSD and intended to make it their primary (without their knowledge or consent) wouldn't you at least sell them one as large as their current drive so they could actually reinstall everything as required? Good grief. Back to the case. When I picked it up they explain that the lights on one of the fans aren't working but they promise to have a new fan in a couple days. Let's fast forward 3-4 weeks. Finally get one fan after promises of three only to find out it doesn't work either AND the lights on a second fan in the case quit working as well. I'm beginning to think they sold me a used case which makes me suspicious about the other parts they sold me as well. I didn't even bother to call these guys back. The entire transaction was ridiculous from start to finish. What started out as a $600 job ended up costing about $1000. And don't get me started on Kameron's attitude throughout all this. I could write a whole new review just on that. I wish I had had a better experience than this but it is what it is. Can't say I'll be back for future builds. read more

Came in on Tuesday because some called the Thursday before and told me computer would be complete on Monday. I thought I would give them an extra. Computer wasn't complete, I live 45mins away. I came in to a rude assistant manager that basically kept cutting me off while I was speaking, got smart mouth with me rolled his eyes and seemed very irritated oh did I mention he was really rude. Oh yes he actually did offer $10 discount for my inconvenience but in a rude way as he left the building and told me to tell the other guys what I wanted. At the end my computer was longing into windows slow and running slow. There was nothing wrong now computer is running slow. At the end the person that checked me out seemed irritated also and when I ask about extra crews he told me that he put everything back properly. I gave Device Docs a lot of projects over a multitude of devices and was met with disappointment almost every time. I first had them do a CPU swap for me, their tech broke the new CPU and tried to lie about it. I took the loss on it & still used them even though the tech lied about it and improperly installed it. They did not do anything to make it right & still charged me the entire bill + I had to pay to get a new CPU again & take the loss on the one they damaged. After that, I brought in my 3d printer that I was having issues with installing the add-ons and getting the first print done (I checked first to see if they could work on it and they said yes). About a week later I got the 3d printer back with nothing done to it, all of the add-ons given back to me and a bill for around $200.00. I still have no idea what they actually did, because no add-ons were installed and that is what I brought it there for. Then I came in for another project, a CPU upgrade again for a different PC and guess what they did it again. They broke the CPU and tried to act like it came like that. (Thanks Tim!) Each and every CPU I ever brought them was new in box and undamaged. This time I was not going to accept it and after talking with their manager (Garret) who is no longer there as well as having an employee admit that another employee was improperly installing CPUs, I got a store credit for some of the labor and it did not even cover the actual CPU replacement cost. After that I was reassured by Garret that they could handle a couple larger projects that I had and to deal with him directly, so I started the process with Garret and then never heard back from him again. Turns out he quit or was fired, but no one ever got back to me until I reached out again. I was once again assured that they could handle this and that it wouldn't take too much time at all. Fast forward over 2.5 months later and almost $1,000+ in costs and they still have not completed it properly. They lost numerous pieces and power cords that they could not locate, they actually had to send them to me when I moved and could not get me the right parts that I had originally that they lost! (I have proof). The video cards were never properly installed on either device and did not have the drivers installed either. One check of Nvidia SMI showed that slots 1,2,3 are unclaimed and have no drivers. Slots 0,1 on the other server were the same. Furthermore, the main server continually has an issue with cards 1,2,3, with an error stating they have potentially fallen off the bus, but not slot 0. How could they have cleared this? Their negligence has delayed the launch of an important project I have been working on for over a year & they do not seem to really care at all about the negative impact that they have had on it. I moved a hour away & tried continually to get them to help, but with no result. They are happy providing me the work as is. I reached out & was told it would be $200 for the first hour and $60 after that, but they never actually gave it to me in working condition like I paid for in the first place. My instructions were clear from the beginning & they said they could do it, but instead did not and billed me like it was completed. They have no plans to make it right, just to continue to charge me outrageous hourly rates for the work they should have already completed. So now I am left with 1 completely non-working server that costs over $15,000+ & one other one that my team and I got working after a week, with no thanks to them at all. Not to mention all of the money lost on damaged parts that they were unaccountable for. I have tried time and time again to work with them & get this resolved, but they only want more money now. I have given them a chance on a multitude of devices and they have failed each time. They cannot even keep a full-time tech or manager, but the place is always full of people who can't actually help you, they just ask for your number to have the tech call you back. Brought my son's IPad in for screen repair on the Monday before Christmas. They said they'd overnight ship the part and it should be ready in 2 days. 4 days later on Christmas eve I call and the work hasn't even been started. Fast forward 14 days later it's repaired. No call from them to give me any updates or to see if I wanted to take it home and bring it back in when it's time to start the repair. Took my laptop in to Device Docs for a new battery on my HP Envy. We paid for the battery, they ordered it and when it came in we brought the laptop in to have it installed. At this point, all went downhill. They broke the hinge screw housing on the lid of the laptop (they admitted to this), tried to super glue it together, WTH, and then still charged for the installation of the battery. Derrick, the manager, said he would try and find another clip to repair it. This all happned on January 31, 2023. We called twice to check if they have ordered a new hinge screws and Derrick's answer was always, I was away and I guess they forget to do it. It is now March 11, 2023 and never a word from them. I took my broken computer to another repair company and basically there was nothing they could do except put the guts of the computer into another casing. I ended up just purchasing another laptop similar to the one that was damaged by Device Docs, Beware of this place. Replacing a battery should not have created this issue. I took my ps5 for an hdmi repair,the guy in front took my name and everything and said it'll be 89$ and will be done by Monday . My wife and I have spent nearly $2000 at this shop the past few years getting various components on our computers fixed/replaced. The guys were always super friendly...UNTIL TODAY. The young man that initially looked at my computer couldn't figure out the problem and told me, "No, they couldn't fix it." In an effort to keep the conversation going so I could get them to take a further look I said, "Well, that's not a good answer." I was smiling. The tall owner came FLYING out from the back and said, "No, that was a great answer. What do you want me to do...lie to you." Uhhhhhh. How about apologizing that they have no idea what they are doing...or, saying something like, "Please leave it with us and we'll open it up and see if we can figure it out." I gave them one star because all I know about their service is that they lack customer service. I left my laptop with them because I couldn't get windows to boot up. We agreed that if they could not get windows to boot they would try to download my personal files onto a flashdrive. I was told it should be ready in 3 to 4 business days. I thought that was too long but agreed rather than taking time to try and find someone else to do it faster just before the holidays. A week later I had not received a call from them so I went by the shop to find out they had not even looked at it yet. I was told it would be done the following week. Really? They don't understand that people need their computers and time is usually of the essence to get them back. I was not given the opportunity to make the decision to try and find someone who could do the job sooner. When you get around to it is not good customer service. They are not reliable. They should not accept jobs they cannot get done in a timely manner without letting the customer know. Maybe they are understaffed but that is their business risk. Why should I pay the consequences of that? Luckily I found Leo Harden, The Computer Guy. Stumbled upon this hidden gem on accident when headed to Cafe Rio next door. Scored a $5 OtterBox for my son's Iphone, plus cheap earbuds to carry in my purse. I remembered this shop when our brand new laptop arrived, and it would not turn on. We brought it here, and the always friendly and helpful staff promised a free diagnosis. They called the next day to let us know that the power cord was bad, and that they could order it for us, or we could purchase it ourselves. We had them purchase it through us as they know what they are doing, and definitely at a level that exceed's mine and my husband's knowledge, obviously. I came in here because my friend told me they had cheap Otter Box cell cases. I did purchase a cell phone case for $5 that had Otter Box packaging, but the case inside was definitely not the brand promised. I speculated that $5 was too good to be true for a product that generally costs much more, but hey... can't beat a great deal. I'll probably come back in to buy more cheap cell phone cases because at any rate the fake is still providing some protection for my phone. The thing that bothers me about the fake-out is I asked the man working how he can afford to sell a name-brand at such a low cost and he said "I actually lose money selling these but its just a way to get people through the door." Just take the cell phones out of the Otter Box packaging and sell them as is instead of lying to customers!
