My husband, parents, and I spent 2 days in Willamette with Niki -- and we all absolutely loved her! The highlight of our entire trip to Oregon! My dad and I went on a father/daughter trip to Oregon at the end of August, and had an incredible day with Niki touring local wineries. We had recently been to a memorial for a good friend of his, so it was important to me that the trip could distract and delight him after a few hard days. Niki absolutely knocked it out of the park! Compared to other wine tours I have been on in the past, it was immediately clear that Niki genuinely cares about the experience of her guests; on this tour, you are not just another number. Her attention to detail began in the weeks leading up to the trip--such as wanting to know more about our personalities and what we wanted to get out of the tour--made for a more enjoyable experience the day of. It was clear on the day of the tour, that she had uniquely curated the experience exactly for us which made it all the more special. This care was echoed during the trip. Niki had hand packed us snacks, prepped the car with cold water, and even took it upon herself to make us an (incredibly delicious, homemade) lunch that dad and I ate while sipping wine at one of the vineyards. She even took a series of candid and posed photographs of us throughout the day, so we could sit back an enjoy the experience to the fullest. Throughout our day, we learned more about the wine making process, the Willamette valley, and local wineries that we would not have had experience otherwise. On our wine tour, my father (known at times to be a curmudgeon) was among the happiest I have ever seen him in my life. I cannot recommend Debra highly enough. We've been wine tasting in Willamette Valley for over 10years, and this was by far the best car service/tour we have ever had. She is very knowledgable about wine and the region, and truly has a gift for making every detail of your tour wonderful. Do you know those kind of experiences you have when you happen to encounter someone so passionate about what they are doing that the whole experience exceeds your expectations? This is a wine tour with Debra. Not only is she passionate about her work but she is truly gifted. Every detail both large and small are done with a degree of excellence that "Wow'ed" us all. Our group of 6 were very comfortably transported in a very slick Mercedes van. IMHO, limos are over rated - everyone has to basically crawl on all 4s to get in and out. Not to mention, in wine country, some roads are impassable in a limo OR the limo has to go soooo slowly on some roads that eats up precious wine drinking time. Not only is the van a better ride and more comfortable, but the views are stunning thru the huge (~5ft) windows. It is totally spoiling. I called a dozen difference services and Debra's rates were very competitive AND included a wonderful lunch. She very graciously accommodated our gluten-free request, and the food was absolutely amazing and beautifully arranged just adding an elegant touch to a wonderful day. Again, attention was given to details large and small... Plenty of water all day long; snacks if desired. Another nice touch was that she (unobtrusively) snapped photos throughout the day, so we had a nice collection of memories and some very nice group photos. All in all it was a perfect day. We had known of Niki, who started her wine tour business about 9 months ago, and knew she would be the perfect fit for a great experience. We let her know a few wineries we were interested in, and she did the rest. Her van, which was very comfortable and even had a dvd player/cd player, fit the 4 of us perfectly. (I think she can fit 5-6). She is so conscientious and is an amazing planner. We told her a few places we wanted to hit and she planned it. She is so creative with making snacks and even preps her own lunches and can handle dietary restrictions. Niki also knows great places to eat and can help you plan those in your itinerary. We actually had finished each of our tastings within 1.5 hours, so she was able to move our appointments up, and actually got us a last minute reservation at a 3rd winery. It is uncommon in today's travel world to give an unqualified recommendation but a recent tour with Debra allows me to do so here. We had a threesome but you can have more. The reasons for my A+++ rating are as follows: You will be able to appreciate your winery visits more because Debra can discuss the wines you are tasting on many levels. She is able to describe "how the watch works" or simply "what time it is" in terms of the how and why of any specific wine. She will tell you lots and lots or simply more summary information depending on your preferences. You can tell you will be treated extremely well because Debra has personal relationships with many of the vineyard owners. The fact they are friends in the regular and off-season world means special attention for Debra's groups. Hugs and kisses upon arrivals. You will get to personalize your tour prior to it happening. Before our tour Debra sent a questionnaire about our group's wine preferences and wine-tasting experience. This made for a more focused tasting tour because all of us had been on many tastings so she was able to introduce us to other vintages which we loved. You will have access to wineries and wine that are not open to the public. Nuff said about this. If you need a change from your original tour plan Debra is able to switch things around without you even noticing. This happened to us. An originally unplanned visit to Coeur de Terre winery was the highlight of our entire trip to the northwest. You will eat well. We had an excellent lunch assembled by Debra at one of the wineries. You will find in addition to the wine that Debra can also talk about a variety of subjects such as food, sports, dogs, etc. You will enjoy easy conversations with her whether you are younger, middle-aged or an older person. This seems to be a lost talent from other tour hosts we have known. You will find your tour with Debra to be "top-shelf". Debra Kabarsky, the sole proprietor of the Vineyard Wine Tour, is not the cheapest one around. That being said, you would not be tasting wine in the Willamette Valley if you were interested in "bottom-shelf" stuff. read more

Wow!!! What an amazing experience! I took my mom on her first wine tour for her 50th birthday and everything was just amazing!! Debra was the BEST!! She's very knowledgeable on the regions and the wines, very personable and sweet, detail oriented, and just all around a great person! She definitely made the day what it was! My husband and I were so happy with our day spent with Jessie from A Vineyard Wine Tour. Debra, the owner, organized an amazing day, touring 4 different types of wineries, small labor of love, large "more commercial" winery. Wow, where to begin... Before - Debra contracted us prior to our trip to find out what WE wanted to do and asked some really great questions to help narrow down what would make the tour successful for us. My husband and I wanted to tour smaller wine makers and Debra made sure she was very clear on our wine and price preferences. Debra arranged for a car company to pick us up and meet her.... so easy on us. Tour Day- The car service arrived very promptly and was extremely professional. We met Debra and she drove us in her lovely SUV, complete with snacks and water in the back for us. We ended up touring 4 wineries and which was the perfect number. We never felt rushed and got amazing behind the scenes access. 3 of the 4 wineries we actually got to sit and taste with the winemaker. We were able to peek in cellars, walk in the vineyards, taste straight from barrells at some of the most beautiful locations I have ever been to. Lunch- Debra arranged for our lunch stop to be at Granville Wine Co. We actually sat with the winemaker in his kitchen to taste the wines and eat a fabulous lunch provided by Debra. (tasty, real silverware, beautiful presentation). I can't say enough wonderful things about Debra and what she does, She was engaging, knowledgeable and managed to herd us from location to location without us ever realizing it was happening.
