Most companies were charging an arm and a leg for a one-time service or they required us to be on a monthly subscription with them. We moved into a new house and we have ants. And potentially rats. But thank god for Eastside…read moreexterminators. Mike Coombes and Jacob Calvo have helped us on both fronts. Mike came over, assessed the situation with the ants (odorous house ants), and addressed them right away. Are they completely gone? No. Unfortunately we live at the bottom of a hill in an older home, and the ants have been here longer and outnumber us by a lot. What Mike has done though is make the inside of our home less and less appealing. He's also been incredibly responsive to our panicked messages about any increased ant activity, and after he's been here, the ants make themselves scarce. Jacob mapped out our entire house, identified potential entry points, and took detailed photos of what was happening in the crawlspace (maybe in too much detail, hahaha) and gave us a thorough review of options for next steps for addressing the four legged house guests we didn't want to continue supporting. And as far as I know we don't have rats anymore, but they've also installed monitoring so if the rats do make their way back into the crawlspace, I'm confident they'll take care of it immediately. As a family with two young kids and no relatives in the vaccinity, Eastside Exterminators have been instrumental in taking that cognitive load off our hands.

The second Leif shows up, he's walking all over my roof, crawling deep into my crawlspace in the most thorough exclusion inspection I've ever seen. There was a lot that had to be done, and Leif was willing to work with my budget to get it sorted! Shortly after that I received a text message response asking for my full name, address, and email so that they could enter my information into the computer. That struck me as odd, but given the situation I was facing, I gave them the requested information. After that they told me that the earliest they could talk to me was Monday at either 9:00 AM or 4:00 PM. It was unfortunate to have to wait two days just to talk to someone, but I assumed they must have been very busy. We scheduled an appointment for 9:00 AM Monday morning over text. However, when 9:00 AM came around I didn't hear from anyone. I tried calling the number that had texted me, but it went to voicemail. I tried calling the main number I had called on Saturday, and it also went to voicemail. After nearly an hour of waiting, I texted the number explaining that I had to go into a meeting at 10:00 AM and asked if we could reschedule for the 4:00 PM time slot. At 9:57 AM, the person responded saying they were "just getting ready to call", but that we could talk at 4:00 PM instead. Now imagine my surprise when the person from Pest Fighter tried calling me at 3:37 PM. Then again at 3:40 PM. And then texts me at 3:44 PM asking why I was not answering. I responded to the text immediately, explaining that I was in a meeting until 4:00 PM. I asked them to call me at 4:00 PM, like we had agreed on previously. After that message I never received another text from them. When I called shortly after 4:00 PM, my calls went to voicemail. To this day, I have never received a response from anyone at Pest Fighter. No texts, no calls, nothing. I debated posting this review. Maybe Pest Fighters provides good service if you can actually talk to someone, but I wouldn't know. After playing an unprofessional game of phone tag, I contacted another service who was not only able to talk to me, but who was also able to make it out to my house at the time they said they would.

David explained everything and guided me through the steps and the type of material they use for rodent exclusion - wire mesh and concrete. The other places use wire mesh and foam. My rodent was able to chew on several things so I knew the foam wouldn't cut it. They came out and worked on my house ​for over 5 hours. David walked around with his team and showed them areas and they dispersed and took care of various areas of the home. My friend and I also showed them areas and they also took care of them. David and his team didn't appear to mind that we asked them to check certain areas. In the end, David also double checked the areas from his initial review to assure they were taken care of. They were a great team that worked well together and had great smiles. They also vacuumed and did several sanitation sprays in the crawl spaces and wherever I saw the rat. The price was high according to others that I spoke with but I am happy so far from what I saw and experienced. It gave me peace of mind. The charge did not increase based on how many or how big were the holes. So no surprise charges. One company told me the holes they block range from $20 to $100 per hole depending on the size and material they use. David and his team also photograph before and after pictures which was helpful and you can ask to see them too. Hopefully the rodent or rodents will be gone. There will be someone coming to check every couple of weeks and sanitize each time they check. Again, David and his team did a great job and they respected us, the customers and each other. They explained when asked and were kind and respectful. I say, do your research, ask around but definitely give Ocal a consideration as one of your estimators. EXCELLENT INITIAL AND FOLLOWUP SERVICE! We hired the Attic…read moreCrew two years ago for home rodent abatement, a common but serious proplem in Seattle. They did an OUTSTANDING job finding and sealing the entry points, then clearing the old insulation and replacing with minty fresh new contemporary insulation. With the summer coming, we asked the Attic Crew to reinspect our attic fan and advise on possibly adding more. The crew arrived on time, with all their equipment, discussed our project needs with us, then promptly carried out the inspection. The Attic Crew report was A) our equipment was running fine, and needed no additional service. B) considering the tight attic space, the current fans were sufficient and no more would be needed. Final result? NO CHARGE FOR THE INSPECTION AND RECOMMENDATIONS! We would ABSOLUTELY GO TO THE ATTIC CREW next time we need their services!!!

They're efficient and completely thorough. Shout out to the on-site project manager, Ricky Ricardo (yes, his real name, like the character from I Love Lucy, but he's a great sport about it) - who came early and stayed late to make sure we knew what was going on and were fully satisfied with the complete job, with a walkthrough and pictures of everything from end to end. Ricky is a guy who cares about a job done right and cares that the customers are completely comfortable, happy, and satisfied. Ricky came in before the crew started, walked us through how the job would go, made sure that all of our personal belongings were moved far away or protected by plastic throughout the garage and all the way through to the crawlspace access near the kitchen. The taped-up plastic "hallway" they created to prevent fiberglass and biohazard waste from leaking out into the house was going to block off part of the house, so Ricky made sure that we would have access to everything we needed, and offered to cut holes or coordinate crossings through as necessary. For the 3.5 years we've lived in this house I've been scared to even put my head down in the crawlspace, and by the end of the job I was ready to stand in there and take my own pictures of the space. Thankfully I didn't even have to take my own pictures, because Ricky organized sending me hundreds of before and after pictures from everyone on the crew. I have so many pictures now I could draw a pretty good map of my crawlspace without ever crawling through it. The price (spoiler: great!) Where other companies tried to quote for a smaller scope of work to keep costs within our budget, Attic Crew combined a completely thorough top-to-bottom job with guaranteed PSE rebates (as appropriate to our case) to meet our budget and then some. This was actually the best quote we got in two ways. First, this job was scoped to everything we wanted and more, no cutting corners. Second, it was the cheapest quote overall by about $500 thanks to PSE rebates that Attic Crew guarantees. Attic Crew takes care of the PSE rebates on their end, no paperwork for us. They included line items on the quote to show us how much we were saving from the rebates, but the sales rep, Tom, guaranteed me that even if they somehow don't qualify for the rebate from PSE, they will never charge that back to us. On top of that, they were quick to schedule the work only a week after we paid the deposit. The scope of work (extremely thorough): Removal of all old insulation and vapor barrier. Biohazard cleanout and sanitation. Crack sealing (foam, mesh, and/or cement as appropriate). Air sealing around any penetrations (vents, ducts, wires) into the house. Upgrade from 4" R-17 to 10" R-30 fiberglass insulation. Upgrade to 10-mil thickness vapor barrier. Replace dryer duct from flexible to rigid aluminum. The job was very thorough to improve our home efficiency and lock in the PSE rebates. As a bonus, they included cleanout of an abandoned rat's nest in a cabinet in the corner of the garage that the previous owner left us as a "gift" and we'd never had the equipment or PPE to properly deal with, and any rodent droppings found in the garage as well. Literally the only (very minor) issue we had was that we'd scheduled the quote on a day that turned out to be a Monday holiday. The communications were a little unclear referring to "tomorrow" rather than a specific date and ultimately they confirmed the appointment for the next business day. No harm done.
