Getting my nails done is a huge treat so I want to be very happy after all is said and done. With that said, I decided to choose a nail salon based on Yelp reviews. When I called to make an appointment, I let them know I was a first-time customer for them. I was warmly welcomed and given an appointment that worked with my schedule for the next day. When I got there I checked in on Yelp and was so excited to see a 10% off coupon for first-time customers. That excitement was quickly deflated when I was advised that they were not honoring it any more and they have asked Yelp to take it down but they haven't. Unfortunately, this was where they lost a star in my rating. :( Despite that, the experience was very relaxing, calm & professional. We didn't feel rushed at all, which I really liked. On this visit, we splurged on a mani pedi for both myself and my daughter. We were both very pleased with not only their care and service in our experience but with the overall appearance of our nails. We'll see how long it lasts. We loved the welcoming positive vibe and professional staff. We'd definitely come back. There's a frequent customer card where after 10 visits you'll get $10 off your service. After looking on Yelp for a local nail salon I came across AX Nails. Their reviews were good and I decided to take a chance. I don't live on Long Island anymore, so typically I get my nails done when back in Charlotte. I was more than happy with the customer service and the outcome of my powder nails. I was a customer here for about 8 months and usually would be one of their first appointments. However, during my last visit I noticed that the nail techs do not sanitize or wash their hands in between customers. I came later in the day than usual so it was my first time noticing and/or paying attention. Next, I spotted a few roaches running back and forth under the chairs and the owners tried to shoo them away without anyone noticing. Safe to say my last visit was my last visit. Completely disgusted and turned off. If you care about cleanliness I'd recommend staying far away. read more

First time here. Came based on reviews. Got a basic pedicure and wax done. The person who did my pedicure was rushing and I feel like didn't do as good of a job as I would like. She did my first coat and then was replaced by another person. This person took their time and made sure my toe polish was clean and neat. This person also did my eyebrows which I am in LOVE with. Was very scared but they came out amazing! Will be going to get my eyebrows done there by this person! They also did a chin wax for me and was very detailed and plucked out every hair that remained after the wax. Overall it was a nice experience will go back and ask for the person who did my wax to do my pedicure to see if it's worth coming for pedi. The price is okay too. read more

They recently changed owners and the new name is A.X. Nails. I thought I would give them a try since it is so convenient to my house. I called, and they took me right in. The whole store was redone and very clean. They were so nice, and offered me water. Ivy did my nails. She did a great job and in a timely fashion, which was great. I've been driving out to here for my last few fill ins- the nail artist I've been using is mean but I thought pretty decent and they kept telling me next time I can use their anc powder and have natural nails And then each time no I got a pedicure and a fill in today First off I have a neurological disorder and I can't always keep my fingers completely still During the fill in the technician (man sits second in line) scolded me when my finger moved- I look at them now! You look later. I wasn't even trying to look at them He didn't ask me how I wanted the French so it was totally not how I wanted but he's so harsh I felt awkward asking him to change it Then I got a pedicure got home and realized there's huge areas of toenail with no paint Skin falling everywhere off my foot looking terrible after a 40 dollar pedicure I won't be driving out again . read more

I went to Kim's in search of a good, clean salon that does ANC well. The salon near my home has not been up to my satisfaction. I was not disappointed at Kim's. I went in right after work so I got there around 6:15pm. They were friendly when they greeted me & took me right to a seat. The man who did my nails (second in from the door) was nice. We had polite conversation. I requested to change the shape of my nails & to cut them much shorter, which he did not complain about as some techs do. The final result is exactly what I had hoped for. I don't know why this place is reported as closed because it is still very much open. I first started coming here about 4 years ago. They are clean, accommodating, and do amazing work! James usually does my pedicure and is the absolute sweetest! The owner is very funny and runs the shop very smoothly. All of the techs are outstanding, talkative (which is a huge plus!), and put customer service above everything. If they do something you're not loving 100%, they will redo it for you, no problem! They never pressure you into adding anything more expensive to what you're there for and are always upfront with pricing, so there are no surprises, at the end of your service. I have found what my heart is longing for! FINALLY! So thankful to have found this gem and its so close to home. First, the salon is extremely clean. The technicians honor appointments graciously. I recommend making an appointment to lessen the wait time. By making an appointment I have only waited a few minutes. A large variety of both gel & non gel polishes adorn the back wall. Talk about a color playground! Nail technicians are very friendly and take time to listen to requests. I prefer almond shaped nails & having so many disappointments as other salons fail to meet the mark, Kim's lovely nails technicians are spot on! Very skilled! A large selection of hand painted designs are displayed. However, don't stop there! Feel free to ask your nail technician to create a freestyle hand design! If you fail to like it, speak up! I have been going to this salon for about 2 years. YES they push the anc powder on you over and over again... NO I have not given into it yet. My nails are fine with gel color for the last 4 years! As Katherine F. stated - Noticing in my recent visits the attitude coming from the male nail tech (who I believe is with Annie) not only with me but every customer who sits in his chair. He sits 2nd from the door. Usually huffing and puffing, shaking his head, talking behind entering customers backs (I have witnessed this every time I have been there) or yelling to "relax your hands" to EVERY customer in his chair. My last visit was my LAST visit due to the attitude I received from this man. He stopped with his current client while Annie was doing my nails, stood up just to scold me that "if she cannot do the design you cannot have it!" I told her I knew she was not incompetent of doing her work but he put her down in front of the whole salon. Also if i'm paying $10 for designs does it really hurt to make a mistake on a nail and have to try again? That should be Annies discretion. They wanted to move my chair knowing I was upset at how he handled it so that he could not make comments at me? excuse me but I am the client! Completely rude and not necessary. Not understanding why everyone tip toes around this man instead of giving him a lesson on speaking to his customers properly. Maybe by doing so and reading other bad reviews about his work ethics they would save their clientele.
