One and a half years ago, I had a big party to go to and I wanted permanent brows done. I had them done in Manhattan years before with no problem, but wanted a retouch because they were faded. The owner charged me almost 400.00 for the 'special package', and then Flore or Lore or whatever she calls herself currently proceeded to destroy my face. The results after 2 hours was that I had to go to Stony Brook hospital's emergency room, where I was treated for a staff infection, and massive gouging of the skin around my eyebrows. I have permanent scarring and I also have pictures and medical reports. GO THERE ONLY IF YOU WANT TO BE MUTILATED!! I have never had a worse experience. I am sorry for the wonderful owner because Flore is absolutely horrible. The most unprofessional woman I ever met. I was not happy with my eyelash extensions (left eye was perfect, right eye looked horrible) when I said that they were uneven, Flore flipped out. Yelling at me, telling me I am unhappy with my looks on the outside that is why I will never be happy. She screamed at me for about 20 minutes, finger in my face while I was laying in spa bed. I started crying because of the day she was yelling at me and what she was saying. I just asked for them to be taken off at that point and she intentionally got the adhesive remover in my eyes ( feels like straight alcohol) and the remover was so strong it burned the skin on my cheeks. Terrible. Do not go here. I purchased a groupon and my eyes were BURNING from the second she started until the second she stopped. Even after, they hurt. I never got lashes before so assumed that was normal but after speaking with my friends who have had lashes, found out that it is NOT normal. The lashes were also falling out 2 days later. I had a terrible eyelash extension done by Flore! She put the eyelash glue into my left eye, used adhesive tape on my skin that pulled part of my skin off, and when done they had to pull apart both eyelids to open my eyes! I am now using an antibiotic and an anti- inflammatory ophthalmic solutions and praying I won't be left with a permanent eye injury. I used a groupon, you pay for what you get. Flore took about 30 minutes to do both eyelash extensions, normally from two other salons it would take at least an hour, but Flore did it quickly with a lot of glue, now I am suffering! Pay for a good salon, or use eye lash serums to grow better eyelashes on your own. I have never commented on Yelp before, I hope this will prevent someone else from going to this place. read more

Lately I have been feeling like my facial skin is disgusting, so I checked out Groupon for a local establishment that does facials. At 10:30 pm last night, I bought the Groupon and then I went onto the Total Body Wellness Spa website and was pleased to find that I could actually book my appointment on the website and not have to wait for a call back. They had late hours, until 8 or 9 a couple of nights, which was what I needed for after work. I booked a 6:30 and less than 24 hours after buying the Groupon, I showed up to my appointment. I entered the spa and was greeted warmly by Adrienne, who did my facial, and by the owner, Nicole. The spa itself had a cozy, inviting atmosphere and was tastefully decorated. I was led into the facial room and was told to put the robe on and get under the soft blanket, which I did. Adrienne started the facial. She was friendly and seemed eager to excel at her job. The owner, Nicole, did observe the facial for a while, and I believe this was something that would not normally happen during a service but with the spa being new, she took pride in her business and wanted to ensure that the staff was meeting high standards. I didn't mind. It was much better than the time I was having a gynecological procedure done at Nassau University Medical Center and a room full of students were watching while the teacher loudly announced everything. Adrienne asked if I have kids, and I said yes I do, they are in the parking lot right now waiting in the car. Nicole, hearing this, said that they could come in and sit in the waiting area. She actually went out to the car, invited them in, and gave them brownies and cookies. (I believe that today was a special occasion of some sort, which was the reason they happened to have those treats on hand). The facial itself was lovely, there was a lot of massaging and wonderful creams. My face looked and felt so good when it was over that I decided that from now on I should stop going to get full body massages so much and use the money to get facials instead, and I would definitely come back to Total Body Wellness Spa, and I highly recommend it to others. read more

The worst place to get your eyelashes done. First it's not even a "spa", it's next door to a barbershop very shady looking place. It was part real estate and in a room the lady had her set up. I complained about the placement of the tape they use to hold down the bottom lashes, it was literally poking my eye and she stated she was unable to move it when I've been getting my eyelashes done for 2 years and never had this issue before. I payed for mink and it was definitely NOT MINK. My eyes were swollen after 2 days, and the eyelashes immediately started falling off. I noticed she glued 1 eyelash on 3 of my actual eyelashes. THE WORST PLACE EVER SERIOUSLY. DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANYTHING. She told me I shouldn't be getting eyelashes I should be getting a facial which was more and I didn't go there for that. It was absolutely horrible ! She needs to learn how to put on individual lashes because it was horrid. Not even one star worthy honestly. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. The first day I went in for eyelash extensions on a Groupon. I had to wait over an hour even though I had an appointment. The person in front of me was complaining about her lashes and ended up being told to never come back. The owner and flora told me that she causes issues and they don't want her business. I thought this was unprofessional to tell me but understood people have bad days. Then I went for a refill two weeks later because I had a gift certificate to use from the groupon deal but had to wait again so I left. I just left my rescheduled refill appointment and it was terrible. I specifically told flora I wanted less lashes than the first time. She scoffed but agreed to it. She did not show me when she was done, got glue in my left eye and then lied to the owner saying I owed more money because she did more. She was very dramatic about it. I think to take the attention off that fact that she was lying or to make it seem as though I was lying. I explicitly said I wanted less so I'm not sure why I would be told to pay additional. Now I understand why the person on my first day was so unhappy. I also understand why they tried to make her look like the instigator. They try to cover up their scamming. read more

I never had eyelash extensions before and I found a deal for them here on Groupon and decided to give it a shot. My frustration first began when I had to reschedule my original apt. I called for 3 days and no one ever answered. I left a message and no one ever called me back. I tried again a few days later and finally someone answered and I was able to re schedule for the following day. When I arrived no one else was there however a few minutes later a woman came in and Nicole told me she was taking her first it would be quick. I was a little confused but said ok no problem. I waited a half hour and during that time I noticed the only practicing license in there expired two years ago and was for a woman named Flore who doesn't even work there anymore. Nicole finally got to me and I asked her if she was licensed to practice and she said of course that she does everything there. As soon as she began my eyelash extensions my eyes stung a bit but I assumed it was the eyelash glue and would wear off. She only took about 20 minutes to do them and even admittedly messed up a few and had to redo them.
