They also worked with me on reworking my bustle on the second appointment as I had a long train. They moved very quickly, I didn't have my first appointment until about 7 weeks before the wedding and had my dress back within less than 4 weeks! The price was right on par with others I've seen in the valley as well, very fair for the quality of work. Also a kind group of women who made the experience enjoyable and easy. I was referred to A-Z from my bridal boutique, Something Blue. Honestly, I put off alterations for a while, but ended up going in about six weeks prior to my wedding and they made it happen (would DEFINITELY recommend going in earlier though)! I had a total of three fittings - the initial to go over what I wanted, take measurements, etc; the second to try on with the alterations temporarily in place to verify measurements; and the third final one with everything complete! I loved working with them and they made the process so smooth. I wanted to add custom off-the-shoulder sleeves using some of the sparkly tulle cut from the length, and they came out perfect. The bustle was also perfect and they ensured that I knew how to bustle it for the day of, and ensured I took a video so I could show my planner. My husband and his groomsmen got custom suits from Gaetano, but they also use A-Z Alterations! They knew we were both going there so they made sure our fittings weren't on the same day and that I didn't cross paths with my husband or the groomsmen. I know the groomsmen had great experiences as well. A few of them had issues with their pants' length at the second fitting but it was promptly fixed and they looked perfect on the day of. My in-laws and my brother also had their wedding attire altered here and everyone looked amazing! I've been to other alteration places where the customer service definitely lacked, but Stela was great to work with and stayed in constant communication. I've been back since our wedding to get other items altered. I think the prices are definitely fair for the quality and the reliability of their work, and they quote you prior to getting any work done so you know what to expect. read more

I had some minor stitching that needed done on the legs of two pairs of pants. I attempterd to do it but was unsuccessful except for a blood donation. Since I wanted itt fixed correctly, I put a project on Yelp and A-Z was the first that answered. It's only a few miles from home, so that's where I went. You pay in advance. When the job is ready to be picked up, you get a text notifying you. Keep your receipt and take it with yopu because it helps them determine where on the racks your things are. The repairs were done well. I think it was a pit pricey, but I'd rather pay more and have it done right. read more

The tailors herself was amazing unfortunately the front desk was rude. I came in to get pants and suit sized which I didn't get done due to pricing. I was very apologetic that I couldn't get it done as it was a gift and it cost 4x the suit itself .($430). After her remaking remarks saying your boss knows nothing just return it if that is expensive when it's a one use suit I felt very disrespected yet all I did was leave while on the phone. After she proceeded to called me multiple times to discuss the blank 1 start I left to try and fight with me about it. I'm here to back up the bad reviews of others to show that this is a pattern, not isolated incidents. I read others having a similar experience to mine. Stella seems to have a double personality - friendly at the cash register and impatient, condescending, and rude when you are vulnerable in your dress asking for what you want done. For an analogy - when you go to a restaurant you expect to order off the menu, not be asked for a recipe. They are the tailors - so I explained the goal and left it to them to complete the work. After four visits and and being basically bullied by this woman - I finally explained in detail how I would add the fabric to the dress were I to do it myself (which I was beginning to think I would have to do!) An hour later they finally got it done. I suppose this place will work out if you just need something like "taken in at the waist" or your pants hemmed - even then, you might want to measure at home and know it's exactly 1 1/4 inch, etc. or you might be accused of "changing your mind" when the pants come back too long or too short. The worst part was she knew I had little time before my event and wouldn't have time to find someone else to finish the dress, and yet still she threatened to hand me the dress back unfinished with only two days before my event. I found that to be the really unforgivable and most unprofessional part of the entire bad experience I had with this business. Several visits and hundreds of dollars for something that would have been pretty easy and inexpensive for someone else. The one-star reviews are here for a reason - it's Stella. read more

I came here to get my bridesmaid dress hemmed. When I walked in, I was immediately given an estimate on how much the service would cost. I decided to use their services, so they had me use their changing room to put on the dress. I then went to the lobby area where one of their tailors had me stand on a platform to take measurements. The process was fast and efficient. After leaving me dress with them, they sent me a text within 5 days that my dress was ready to be picked up. When I went to pick up the dress, they still had me put on the dress again to make sure I was completely satisfied with the hemming. Then they put my dress in a long plastic sheet to protect it. I highly recommend them for quick dress hemming! I will probably use their services again on other pieces as they can work with any clothing. read more

Here to reply to the store's response to my mom's review. Let me explain exactly how everything happened from the start. I bought my wedding dress and was referred to this shop for alterations. When I purchased it, I made it clear that I wanted to add sleeves, appliqués, and stones. At my first appointment, I was told the sleeves I bought couldn't be added to the dress. Fine--but from there, things went downhill. I explained several times exactly where I wanted the appliqués placed. The owner kept putting them in the wrong spots, and when I tried to clarify, she said she didn't understand me and started showing frustration. I had two people with me, and we all left feeling like we were an inconvenience. That's the short version, but it honestly felt like nothing I wanted could be done--either because they "didn't understand" or because the sleeves were supposedly the wrong kind. The dress was also too big. When I said I wanted it to fit properly, the response was literally, "I'll try," with a shrug. That's when I got upset and decided to leave. I told them I knew the sleeve issue wasn't their fault--but their attitude was. After that experience, I bought a new dress. Against my better judgment, I went back to this shop for alterations since I live out of state and didn't know anyone else local. I gave them a second chance. At that appointment, I asked for three things: to hem the dress, add a bustle, and make the top as tight as possible. My exact words were, "I want this glued to my skin." The appointment went fine--they were "friendly" this time, likely because of my prior complaint. At my third appointment, they had hemmed and bustled it and suggested taking in the sides. But the top was still way too big. I told them again it needed to be tighter--"glued to my skin." They claimed I had never mentioned that before and said it would cost another $257. I absolutely had mentioned it. It was the main reason I came in! But I agreed to pay just to keep the peace and not risk them taking it out on my dress. At the fourth and supposed final appointment, I tried the dress on--and the top was STILL huge. This was the third time I'd told them the same thing! My wedding was only days away, and I live out of state. Instead of apologizing, the owner got defensive and rude. Was I frustrated back? Yes. Because all she had to say was, "I'm sorry, let's fix it." Instead, she argued. Then came the length issue. The hem folded under. My mom and mother-in-law both said it looked too long. I asked for their professional opinion, but the owner refused to answer--just glared at me and said, "If you want shorter, I make shorter!" Finally, she angrily grabbed a pen, started marking on my dress while I wasn't even on the podium, and mumbled to herself. Eventually, she said, "It's perfect. Don't make it shorter." I decided to trust her professional judgment--mistake. The shop was closing, and the top still wasn't fixed. I had even added Boombas (padding) to try to fill it out, and it was still loose. They told me to come back in two hours while they "fixed it." That's what they now call a fifth appointment--but really, it was just them correcting their mistake. When I returned, the top finally fit--after multiple requests and an extra charge I shouldn't have paid. I told them it was perfect just because I was exhausted and ready to be done. Wedding day: I could barely walk without tripping. My husband couldn't spin me during our first dance, and I had to hold my dress up the entire night. The person who recommended this shop even pointed out it was too long. Afterward, I called the shop to share that: The dress was too long. I didn't appreciate how the owner treated me. I wanted a copy of my original alteration list since they claimed I never mentioned tightening the top. Immediately, Stella got rude--accused me of harassing the owner, claimed they "went above and beyond," and said she was recording our call. She said they had videos of me "harassing" them. If that's true, those videos will also show how frustrated and dismissive they were toward me every single time. They never once took responsibility for their behavior or repeated mistakes. Instead, they blamed me for being upset about a dress that was never right until the very end. Do I think they can do good work? Probably. But if you're not a perfectly compliant customer, they'll make sure you know they don't like you. My first and last appointments both ended with me in tears. Even another customer told me, "Good luck," as she was leaving--clearly seeing what was going on. From day one, I felt uncomfortable, unwelcome, and blamed for their errors. Any bride would be upset after going through that. Respect goes both ways. If they had shown kindness and accountability, none of this would have escalated. Of course, a last minute black tie event in Hollywood (swanky!) came up and it left us scrambling! We found all the glowing reviews of A-Z online and decide to give them a try. First, they were super professional on the phone and clearly answered all our questions. We had total confidence from the first moment we spoke to them. Second, they were able to do a super quick turnaround in just a few days! So off we went to drop off the tux. He was in and out in less than 15 minutes, measured and fitted perfectly. What could've been a stressful, lengthy situation didn't take long at all. The one major drawback here is that while you get quality service, you'll also pay a premium for it. An alteration to a tuxedo jacket and pants cost close to $200! Yowza! The alterations were done quickly and expertly. The stitching is absolutely perfect, and you can't tell that it has been altered TWICE (once before when he first bought it, but at the store where he purchased it and they didn't do a great job). A-Z obviously has highly skilled and trained tailors who know what they are doing. Bottom line: this place is worth the expense if you want to look your best! Went here to hem a pair of jeans, a linen trouser and sweatpants. They had a fitting room for me to change into and had a big mirror for me to see exactly how short to hem it down. For 3 pants it was almost $80 which I think it's pretty expensive in my opinion, but they were pretty quick. They finished it the next day even though I was told it'll take a week. read more

I'm still experiencing problems with a uniform I had them alter for me several months ago. Paid over $300 to have a jacket taken in, sleeves shortened, pants taken in. Length shortened with a scallop cuff, and it's all still wrong. I have to take it to a different tailor now to fix and pay more. I cannot understand how this place has so many positive reviews. I guess all they care about are wedding dresses, but anything for men they overlook and couldn't care less. Will never use them again nor recommend them to anyone. read more

It's unbelievable to me how a business can not only not know how to do the business they chose, but then expect the customers to be docile and not speak up for themselves. They're unwelcoming, rude, and will cheat you your money as well as not do what you paid for. Especially wedding dresses. Do NOT be fooled! It will not only cause you incredible amounts of extra stress, but they will also quote you a price for what you want, not do what you agreed on and then charge you even more!! And then they try to intimidate you into thinking YOU did something wrong by speaking up. Trust me when I say...they picked the wrong people to overcharge, under deliver and then try to bully on top of that! Learn from our mistakes. There are plenty of good tailors in Vegas. This isn't one of them! And now they'll follow with excuses, lies and more bullying. And desperate attempts to make themselves look like the poor tailors who were treated so poorly. What further impacted my confidence was being told that the situation was personally witnessed, when it was not. That created a disconnect for me and contributed to a loss of trust in the experience. Misunderstandings can happen in any service environment -- that alone is not the concern. The concern is feeling that responsibility for the confusion is being placed on the client rather than acknowledged as an opportunity for the business to improve communication. At this point, the garments still do not fit properly, and I have not yet been offered a concrete resolution. I remain open to a practical solution, whether that is a proper correction, remake, or refund. read more

I wish I could rate A-Z alterations and tailoring 10 stars. Making appointments: I called in August to make an appointment for my January wedding and Stella mentioned it may be a bit too early. So, she helped me figure out the best times to come in for my fittings. I bought my dress in Vegas but I don't live in Vegas, so Stella was super accommodating to my schedule when I could come in for my fittings. She was always super responsive to my calls, questions etc. Alterations: Nadya did an incredible job on my alterations. My dress had a reputation of tearing on the strap so Nadya reinforced the straps. She also made a few suggestions to make the bow on my dress more durable. Everything turned out absolutely perfect and all of her suggestions were that of a clearly very experienced tailor. Experience: I feel extremely fortunate that the boutique I bought my dress from recommended A-Z tailoring. You spend so much on your wedding dress and the hope is that you can find someone who will care for it as you would. And you definitely find that care here! I don't live in Vegas but my mom does and she will only come here for tailoring needs now. Stella is so warm and kind and made me feel so beautiful! Weirdly, I wanted to just be there and hang out longer after my fittings. It's that great of an experience. When my mother-in-law was fixing the dress after we received it back from A-Z, she said that the alterations were super professional and that she was impressed with the sewing skills shown there. You can absolutely rest assured they do good work here. I thought the alterations were pretty fair for what I was asking for (shortening of a hem - $120, strap shortening - $80, removal of bra cups/hook and eye - $20, what I hope was a CC charge but was marked as "overweight" fee - 3%.) The bra cups were not removed, they were moved towards my armpits so we also cut into the dress to remove them at home. The people who work here are the friendliest, nicest people. It was a little hard to make an appointment, you kind of have to be on their schedule, but they seem to be able to fit people in. I noticed 2 other brides were getting the amazing service that all of the other reviews rant and rave about. Unfortunately, I did not receive that experience and by the end of this, I just wanted my dress back and never voiced what I hated about it.
