We needed a new roof on our 24 foot RV, our existing one had started leaking. We had gotten some phone estimates. He came to the house and gave us a very reasonable estimate. We had made arrangements for the next week, but Jim saw that rain was forecast for Tuesday. So he called us, came out that Friday, worked all day Saturday too, and a few hours on Monday to get it done before the rain! Thank you! While he was doing the roof, he replaced our fantastic fan, checked out the water heater, refrigerator etc, and installed a solar panel. The solar panel installation also included connecting it to the existing battery charging system, and that involved figuring out where to place the solar monitor. He worked with us really well. I am immune compromised, and was having active health issues, so we were being very careful about exposures. He was very accomodating and understanding. I called Jim regarding two of my bedroom vents slowly leaking with water drips. One vent initially developing into a second leaking vent. He asked questions and explained what he thought it might be. Response time was quick. He assessed the situation and was right on target. I needed a new roof. I had another mobile RV company reseal the roof a couple months ago. The same company who installed my new air conditioners. Jim found the problem once he took off the rear air conditioner. He explained where the leak was coming from. the previous RV company installer should have seen the problem when replacing the air conditioner and should have caulked the leak area. It was a large hole. If I hadn't had this work done soon my bedroom walls would be affected with bowing and mold. Jim text me photos of the stages of the roof work. The end result was excellent!! All my family thought Jim had done a really nice job. I decided to have my porch canopy cover replaced too since the fabric was falling apart. Looks really nice. I came back from a weekend in the desert and blew a tire on my 2001 Jayco, 28 foot motor home. The shredded tire tore out a storage bin, light, and electric receptacle - plus my awning is/was either broken or damaged. I called an RV repair place and they said "maybe the end of December or early January". So I searched for a "mobile guy", read the reviews and called Jim. He came out the same day, fixed a totally screwed up awning, gave me sound advice on some things he doesn't do (window shades) and fixed/rebuilt my storage box, which he ordinarily doesn't do either. It can take a little time to get in touch with Jim because he's pretty busy (tip: try calling on a weekday rather than Saturday), but once we were able to get an appointment set up, he was there when he said he would be there, and got the work done quickly and well, and educated me about what he was doing and why. It's not a bad thing that he's busy, though. There's a reason for his popularity: he's good at what he does :-) My RV problem: during a thunderstorm on the road in Wyoming this summer, I heard a loud bang, pulled over, and adjusted my mirror upward to look towards the top of my motorhome, where I saw my driver's side slide-out topper flapping in the wind. It stayed kind of loose and wrinkled and flappy for the rest of the trip, and I noticed there was a piece that seemed to be missing (the other side had one). Thanks to Jim, I now know that thing is called an anti-billowing device, designed to limit rotation of the slide-out topper in the wind to one revolution before it contacts the side of the coach and stops. Mine apparently hit the side of the coach and came off, allowing the topper to unwind some more and develop slack. He got my topper re-wound tightly and had an anti-billowing device in his truck, so I'm road-ready again and educated about what to do and what part to get if this should happen again on the road. Best of all, I didn't have to drive my motorhome to a service facility to have it fixed. Having had the need for ongoing repair and maintenance issues with my 2006 Allegro Bus, I've tried several mobile repair services. Until recently, I've not found any that have found me completely satisfied. Overcharging, "milking the clock", inability to resolve the issue at hand are just a few of the problems I've experienced. Finding Jim has been a godsend. Our refrigerator required a new cooling unit installed and Jim cheerfully took on this onerous task with complete confidence. Four hours after he undertook this challenge, Jim asked us not to place any food in the refrigerator until the next morning. Sadly, the next morning revealed that the unit was not functioning at all. The culprit - a bad cooling unit! I cannot imagine how Jim felt, knowing that he had left our problem unresolved and yet, had to order and install another new cooling unit. Yes, we were inconvenienced but I cannot say enough kind works to define this gentleman's attitude throughout this entire process. I suspect in the end, Jim likely made nothing on this repair but not once did he mention this. Jim's concern was squarely focused on getting our unit up an running.
