I came into A-1 Tires today to get replacement tires and fix the wheels and I was a little bit skeptical because of their 3 star rating. A few days ago a drive pulled out in front of my 2006 white Ford Ranger, forcing me to run off the road. In the process, I popped my two rear tires and damaged the rear rims as well. In fact, I usually go to Discount Tire and get new tires, but they always seem to take a long time and make up excuses for why, so I decided to try a new shop. A friend told me that I should save money and get used tires instead of new ones, so I decided to give A-1 a try. I ended up not getting a second quote from another company, because the employees seemed professional and knowledgeable enough. They claimed to have the the biggest selection of tires in the area, but there's no way to verify that and I didn't care all that much. The thing that impressed me most about this business was that they offered to straighten out the dents in my wheels for free as long as I bought tires. That pretty much sealed the deal for me and I was happy I went there. I'll probably get used tires for now on instead of new as well. read more

This is my Go-to place for used tires. In several years of going, I only got a bad tire once, which they promptly changed when I returned (each tire has a 30 day warranty). I've only gotten used tires and balancing done, but they have always treated me well. read more

Honestly their used tires are crap. I used to get my tires done here ALL the time, but I noticed I would have to frequently come back and get a replacement. Also, they charge $15 for a puncture repair, Walmart charges $10. They're nice ppl they just need better used tires. read more

I can confidently recommend A-1. I cannot speak for their general mechanic services, as I have never used them. However, for good used tires, this is the place to go. They are much more fair dealing than other used tire shops I have visited and can usually get you in an out within a decent amount of time. Andrew has been with the business since it started many moons ago and will treat you and your vehicle honestly and respectfully. The location is conveniently located close to downtown Lawrenceville, the waiting area is pleasant and air conditioned and the prices are comparable. What more can I say? A friend recommended this place to me for an oil change. What I got was a lot of racist remarks from a technician named Tony. I tried to take my business elsewhere and he said he already started so it was too late. Wouldn't give me my keys back until I paid so I had no choice. I believe he sabotaged my car. The $45 tire I choose looked solid enough, and it comes with a 30 day warranty. I can get used tires cheaper around town, but they won't come with a warranty. read more

This people are inexperienced and rude. Went in and had breaks and rotors repleaced. On my way to work I heard and felt this aweful scrubbing/scrapping coming from the tires. Went back to let rhem know and it was INSTANT attitude. One guy road with me and claimed it was break dust. I drove out of town and this scrapping occured the entire time. Came back and took it back to them. Andrew the manager yelled and verbally abused me. He said there was absolutely nothing they could do about a problem they caused. the breaks didn't do any of these things prior to my taking it there. I have never experienced such rudeness and denial about an issue they caused. After taking all of the rude yelling and nastyness I lost my temper. Then he told the guy to shave the break pad down some and if that didn't work I had to go somewhere else. It didn't work so I just gave these clowns almost $500.00 for nothing. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!! DO NOT COME HERE! This place has the worst customer service ever! Went in for a simple oil change and it took over 2hrs. When I asked for my keys back to leave the manager instantly got an attitude and started telling me it wasn't their fault. Umm who's is it then?! They claim they sent someone to get an oil filter but they got the wrong one and had to go back. Why did that take over an hr when the store is right down the street?? Horrible service, and very non-chalant about their jobs. They say theyre going to take an hour, they take four. About 3 weeks ago i got my rotors and pads changed, all good for about 2 weeks. 6 days ago my abs sensor and my tire sensor turn on, i think damn, maybe a pad is stuck. I bring it in, they tell me its the calipers, on both sides, that are stuck and need to be replaced. I say ok... what about the rotors and the pads, theyre brand new. The guy tells me dont worry, theyre under warranty and can be replaced. Only problem is the mechanic who did the original job isnt in, so i have to go back tomorrow so that guy can call the parts store and get the new parts again. I say ok, ill come back. I go back and now the same guy that the day before told me it should be fine, parts are under warranty, tells me theyre not covered, so i have to pay for brand new rotors and pads... the same things i had just gotten replaced, along with the calipers on each side. I said so i have to pay for all that again, when i literally just got new ones, the guys says yup, thats just the way it is. He tries to give me some bs about the guy who did the job telling me i needed my calipers replaced before he did the job... which of course was a bold faced lie, since if that was the case i wouldve gotten them done right then and there. So they tell me its fine, lying to my face, then reneg on their warranty and tell me im sol and have to pay for all the parts again, then try to make up excuses. Ridiculous place and service, and crap mechanics. I do NOT recommend this place. Unless you want to get ripped off. read more

Stay away!!!! Buyer beware!!! I arrived at 6:30p which they close at 7p. 30 minutes before closing. They said my job will be done in 15 minutes. I thought I needed a tire fixed. After the young mechanic, filled it with air he found the hole and plugged it up. Just before he was going to put the tire on, he sprayed it and realized there was a slit on the side wall. He stated he did not put the tire in water so he didn't see the other slit. Can you believe they still charged me for the plug???!! $25 for a plug that I cant use!! Then he said they charge $5 for air!! They were so concerned about going home versus keeping a customer happy. The owner was standing there and he wanted that money. If they charged me $10 I would be fine but $25 for a plug and it was the mechanic fault for not doing a thorough job. Some tire place. Customers beware!!!!!! read more

I came in with a Landrover LR3 to get a tire and see why my coolant was leaking. They didn't have my tire size and the guy kept trying to sale me 1 tire that was to large and also told me if i was buying 1 tire i had to buy 2 so it could be balanced. So my truck says the tire sizes you can use...on it because it's all wheel drive he told me because i have a small spare tire i could go with any size. As far as the coolant leaking I needed a thermostat housing. He told me i had to replace the gasket automatically and that was $450. He said he wad talking to Landrover and i asked him to put them on speaker he wouldn't. So he told me $250 for the thermostat housing. He was talking really fast and trying to be extra nice...i just got the tire plugged paid for the inspection which they didn't want to take certain pieces off because they said it would take hours. So it was halfway inspected. He gave me a 900 estimate. I immediately went to Landrover who told me my gasket only had to be cleaned and if i needed a gasket it would have been metal priced at $40 and the thermostat housing is only $180. So i paid Landrover $400 out the door. This place is only good for used tires and know your car. Beware and be careful. read more
