After getting my engine oil topped off, I decided to give each crew member a tip for working hard in this heat. $10 for each worker, there were 4. As I was preparing to leave an older member of the team approached me and asked me about the last time I had my different fluid changed. He went into a long explanation about how important it is and how often I should have it done. After checking my vehicle's carFax, he confirmed that I hadn't had it done before. He showed me every service that I had on my vehicle and continued on about how imperative it was to have it done. I'm all about proper and timely maintenance and I understand how it can extend the life of the vehicle. I asked him how much would it be. He said $109 and it will take 10 minutes. I was ok with that price although not completely sold on if I needed it right then. I thought about it and decided to get it done. When they were done, I was told by another crew member that my total was $233. I was confused and caught off guard. I asked for an explanation of the charges. i explained that I was quoted $109. She asked if I had seen the price on the screen. I told her I had not been shown a price on a screen, i was told it would be $109. She explained that it was $109 per axle. THAT WAS NEVER EXPLAINED TO ME!! I didn't argue with her, I actually think it wasn't fair of him to send her to ask for payment, especially since he KNEW he didn't explain the cost was per axle. Not my experience but my mother's, she doesn't speak English that well and on this day she went alone just for an oil change. One man there took advantage of that fact and made her do unnecessary "fixes" to her fairly new car even when she repeatedly said no. She even said the other younger employees were just watching. I arrived in line on a Saturday at 9:20am. I understand I chose to go on a Saturday and I did expect there to be a wait/line. What I didn't expect was for it to take until 11:00am to actually pull into a bay. I'm guessing they are short staffed and if they don't feel like they are I'm here to tell them they need to hire more or make sure more employees are working during rush/high traffic hours. Although I pulled into a bay at 11:00am. I was not spoken to until 11:22am and I did not exit until 11:45am. All I had done was an oil change. It would have been so much faster to go to a place where I exit my vehicle. Next time, that's what I will do. All in all it took 2.5 hours away from my Saturday. Hands down, one of the best oil changes I have ever experienced. Besides the fact that I did not have to exit my vehicle. The technician, Sam was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the services he was providing. He was polite about his duties in up selling products/services but not pushy. The total service time was in between 10-15 minutes, which is so much appreciated in this fast-paced world. The services may be a little overpriced but the customer service experience more than makes up for that. While, I don't frequent the quick oil change places, this might have to change due to Take 5! read more

I was going to get my oil changed today. I stopped by, doors were closed, employees were walking around inside. This was a few minutes after 5pm, they are supposed to be open until 7pm. I have used this locations several times since relocating to Lawrenceville 4 years ago. Have previously had great service. Two weeks ago I went to get my oil change and an emissions test. At that time the manager told me that she had to leave to pick up a part and to. One back in about an hour. She was the only one who did emissions test. I left and needed to get other errands run. Came back 2 weeks later and they were backed up. I sat in line anyway. Waited 45 mins and then was told that the car in front of me needed a filter and that I would have to wait another 30mins while they waited for the part. She also said that she had to go into a meeting and didn't know when she would be able to do the work. I asked that while they were waiting for the part why couldn't they move the car so that the cars that had been waiting could be serviced. She said that my only option was to wait or go somewhere else. No problem, went all seasons down the road and got the oil change and the emissions test with no problem. I came in today to get an oil change and the entire process felt very rushed. Initially they didn't want to take my tire pressure but I insisted. They also did not check the coolant level. After leaving I immediately checked and found they left off my tire pressure caps in the drivers side after checking the pressure. I went back and they claimed that they weren't on there however this is a brand new vehicle. Had to spend money to buy more, but center manager offered no reimbursement. For a brand new location, I am not impressed. read more

Employee seemed friendly, however they were unable to provide advertised service. Went for emissions check, was told both of the technicians who perform the test were "gone for the day". It was 3:30 on a Friday afternoon. They should take the sign indoors if they aren't performing the test. Went down the street to All Seasons Car Wash and got the emissions checked for $10 less than what they were going to charge me. read more

I will never be coming back here. I waited 45 minutes to be seen and there was only one car In Front of me and then they took about an hour to actually change my oil. On top of that, they supposedly check your air filter and run your car to make sure there aren't any leaks. Well my air filter was supposedly checked and was fine however, when I went to go check my air filter after the fact it was in total need of replacement. And then to add the cherry on top after I had left take 5 didn't realize that my oil was leaking. Well my oil light starts to flash so in the event of this emergency I take it to an auto shop and the mechanic tells me that there is a leak because the gasket needed to be replaced and I was driving with absolutely no oil in my car!!! I call take 5 to get this issue fixed and was promised a call back... no one called me back. They need to stop hiring inexperienced teens and people in general. I don't know why this didn't concern them more. If I could give no stars I would. read more

I've been coming to Take 5 for a while now bc they offer a 25%discount to military personnel. Welp, I went today for an oil change and I brought my own oil, as I usually do. I was told that I could not be offered the discount bc I brought my own oil and the price is already discontinued for that reason. And was told the discounted price is $26. First, that's not a discount. Second, the discount says for services and last I checked, changing the oil is a service whether I use your oil or not. When I questioned the guy bc I've always gotten the discount and I've always brought my own oil. He said due to change in mgmt. Well let the new mgmt know that I will not be coming back nor will I be referring anyone else to your establishment. I realize you don't have to offer any discount but if you do, at least be honest about it and make sense. read more

He was very informative on the type of oil he suggested we get based on the type of traveling we will be doing this spring and summer. I recommend you go somewhere else. Very unprofessional. Non-communicative as far as telling me what my options were. Only changed oil even though website says they check and refill fluids. Had to ask twice to re-fill the wiper fluid. And they forgot to reset to tracker. They did after I went back and asked them to, but for the price, not worth it. Better service elsewhere. read more

Stopped by take 5 because I was longggg overdue and wasn't feeling the dealership prices and gimmicks. The mechanics were friendly and personable. They came out to greet me as I pulled up and offered a bottle of water, then directed me into the bay. While in my car the staff got all of my information for the service and was very clear on what they had to offer. The types of oils were explained in non mechanic terms which helped a lot and they didn't attempt to bully me into upgrades. They also offer a 25% discount which has them on my list for a return visit! Oh andddd the 3$ off coupon for the next visit! The one thing I'm not used to is the 3000 miles recommendation vs the 5000, but I'm sure that still comes with preference of the driver and driving factors. But I couldn't help but wonder if the oil was a little lack luster.... I will say my car drove a bit smoother leaving and I can't say they were anything but friendly. read more

Tony was my advisor. Super nice and friendly guy. Talked me through my options. Gave me an idea of how long each service would last. I have a Chevy Suburban so it takes synthetic and a special filter is recommended. Tony did a great job of analyzing my needs and actually recommended that I hold off for another 3,000 miles.
