Visiting Illinois for work and asked the hotel front desk where to eat - they recommended A2B and I'm glad they did. Restaurant is all vegetarian but that shouldn't stop you from trying some very tasty and extremely well prepared food. Ordered the Veg Jalfrezi curry, Bhindi Masala, roti, garlic naan and tried some idlys for the first time. Everything was hot and so flavorful. The idlys were definitely a highlight with a great balance of buttery and spicy. The service was very good checking in on us regularly and topping up water. Food came out fast and fresh. The restaurant itself is very large and very clean and is part of one of the largest parking lots I've ever seen, so parking is not a problem. Inside is decorated tastefully but nothing overly themed. If I'm ever in the area again I'm definitely returning! read more

We have been coming to A2B for years. We come at least once a week, for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions. We have been noticing the customer service has been poor lately and it has been going downhill. We had a really disappointing experience here today. I ordered the paneer chili fries and they came out very mild, almost no spice at all or flavor at all. I politely asked if they could adjust the spice level, and instead of a balanced fix, the dish came back overwhelmingly spicy to the point that it was completely inedible. What made the situation worse was the lack of customer service. When I explained that the dish was now too spicy to eat, the staff refused to fix it again or remove it from the bill. It felt dismissive and frustrating, especially since I was just hoping for a simple correction. Unfortunately, this experience left a bad impression. I appreciate restaurants getting things wrong sometimes, but how they handle it matters, and this was not handled well. I will no longer be returning to A2B. read more

I been here a few times now and everything is so good! It's definitely known for its dosas, but the apps and Indo-Chinese stuff also is really good. The dosas are always really satisfying. Sleeper horns the falooda. I don't generally like it but the family wanted some so we got it and I was blown away. It's so well balanced and really hits the sweet spot. read more

This was my second time visiting A2B. I was super excited, given my last experience, but I was left quite disappointed. I had ordered a podi thatte idli with sambhar and my family had ordered ghee podi dosa and chole bhature. The sambhar on my plate barely tasted like sambhar, it was a clump of boiled toor daal. The dosa and choley bhature were mid at best. The chutneys were "feeka" too. What saved the meal for us was the royal falooda. Given the price point at this restaurant, this was possibly my last visit. read more

Amazing restaurant! The service was unparalleled, especially for an Indian restaurant. There were so many staff members checking on us, and how the food was. The manager came to check on us twice. We were originally going to go for the Onam Sadya (see photo), but at $28 per person, it was too expensive, especially since I do not eat very much. A2B is a vegetarian/vegan place only, but even my American/Omni husband loved the food. He ordered the paneer masala dosai, and I had a plain dosai with coconut chutney. They were pricey, but my husband finished and food and most of mine when I got full. My only complaint is that between the enormous amount of guests and the restaurant's loud music playing, we could not even have a conversation. It was so loud in there! Visited recently and the food did not disappoint! The Chilli Bajji was perfectly crispy, the baby corn was bold and flavourful, and the Thali was a complete showstopper. We also ordered Appam that tasted like heaven. Every dish tasted homestyle and genuine, nothing felt mass-produced. Generous portions, great flavours, and a meal that really hits the spot. The best South Indian food I've had in a long time! Had the masala dosa, which was crispy, flavorful, and had the right amount of spice; utthapam which was so yummy; idly which was fluffy and tasted fresh and awesome with the sambar and chutneys; and rava kichudi which is the latest iteration of rava I didn't know I needed in my life. We were in the area for a show and decided to try Indian food. We called the restaurant at 9:15 PM for a table for 10, and they were able to accommodate us. The place looks nice, is spacious, and has clean restrooms. We arrived around 9:35 PM, just in time for the last order. They took our order without any issues. We enjoyed Chole Bhature, Podi Idli, Masala Dosa, Paneer Changezi, Chilli Garlic Naan, Buttermilk, Mango Mastani, and Filter Coffee. The food was absolutely delicious--I have no complaints! The service was a bit slow. They forgot my dosa, and I had to remind them, possibly because it was close to closing time. We tried A2B in Dallas recently and enjoyed the experience so much that we sought it out in IL as well. We learned though that A2B locations are franchised and the Dallas location has a different owner. That explains the very different feel of this A2B - it's more formal, a bit more expensive, and well presented. The ordering system is a bit slow, especially on busier nights. But the food is excellent - the paneer tikka was so tender and melt-in-your-mouth soft while also being marinated in flavors so fully. We had the South Indian thali again and the items were all delicious and fresh. I also got the adai which was spicy but so good. I was impressed that the bathrooms were so clean too, because that signals good cleanliness everywhere else. read more

This place is a gem for southern Indian food especially Tamil Nadu flavored. My Tamilian friend recommended this place to me so we ended up going here on Saturday evening for dinner. It was packed! Felt very nostalgic of visiting popular restaurant in India. Cool thing is that as you enter there is self check in kiosk and it gives a text so you don't have to stand at the reception. We got table in 20 mins and then we order a bunch of items. Everything was very flavorful. We ended up getting more items for to-go as well. My family and I recently tried A2B Indian restaurant for dinner as we all were craving desi food and it was sucha great choice! My dad and I shared Chole Bhature, Garlic Naan and Jalfreezi. My mom ordered Tiranga Paneer which is basically paneer tikka in 3 forms. We also tried filter coffee and rasmalai and it was delicious. I have tried their south indian thali and indo Chinese on my previous visit and it was very authentic and impressive! Even though itself vegetarian you would see how many varieties south indian dishes have and Indian food doesn't mean paneer tikka and biriyani. I regularly go for mini tiffin or the lunch thali which is a must try. You get to try multiple varieties and get best value. Keep up the quality. Also they have the best falooda in all of Chicago. There was a QR code menu on the table with an extremely long list of dishes. Though it's a South Indian food chain, there are many North Indian options, but some descriptions were incorrect. We ordered Mushroom 65, which was disappointing, and Tricolor Paneer Tikka, which was very good. We also had Mysore Masala Dosa, which was good, and Rava Masala Dosa, which was just okay--missing the proper texture, seems they are not fermenting the batter long enough to make Rava dosa. Unfortunately, the service was poor. Without picking dishes from a small table just kept the plate of dosa on the corner of the table. Other server comes and squished my dosa while cleaning another table and didn't apologize.pushed the plate more on my table with dirty hands and kept doing his work. The tables are too close together, making it uncomfortable. We left with a moderate experience. I'm a fan of A2B! It's really nice to see a location that has opened nearby. I really like that they are a completely vegetarian restaurant with reliable food. I would have to say that you are best off just ordering the South Indian food that they are known for - you can't go wrong with ordering a dosa here! While I appreciate they have an expanded menu, I would say that their North Indian food options lack in flavor and seem extra oilier than they need to be. Because of how busy they are (especially on the weekends), service can be a bit slow, but I appreciate how they continue to maintain the space and there is plenty of room inside. There is also a snack station to-go in the back you can take a look while waiting for food. I appreciate that they integrated a kiosk at the front as well to make sure that customers waiting get a general wait time and it's organized instead of it just being chaos! Service was quite slow, and they didn't really follow special instructions well. Not terrible, but definitely room for improvement. Hands down one of the best south Indian restaurants I've been to. Everything was amazing from the paneer tikka to the nann. I literally could eat here every day. The best part, everything is vegetarian! So I can order the entire menu. The place was packed when we went on a Thursday night and the service was so so. It definitely took longer than I was expecting, but it was worth the wait. The restaurant itself was a little loud, but it was full of happy families eating dinner. This is one of my favourite South Indian restaurants chain back in India and I was super glad when they opened in Chicago last year. As a South Indian I can tell that this restaurant serves the most authentic South Indian cuisine. I have tried almost every item in the menu and my suggestions are as follows Ghee Podi Idli - melt in your mouth rice cakes. Idiyappam and paya - only available on weekends and so comforting Jackfruit Biryani - authentic Tamil Nadu style biryani and tastes amazing. Impossible Lapa - a unique and a must try dish. Apart from the above dishes, I have tried all their South Indian delicacies in the menu and everything is 10/10. This place is vegetarian/vegan friendly and mostly crowded during the weekends. This place is always poppin and has a great selection of indian food! Despite it being super busy, the service here has always been great. Absolutely love their dosas and my go to is the rava dosa with onion. Their chole bhatura is also delicious!! They also have a lot of jain options if that is something you are interested in. After reading the reviews to made sure to be there right at 5:30 when it opens and to our surprise there were already groups of people waiting for the restaurant door to open. Honestly it's hard to find a good place that sells really good dosa. But this place does it. The line out the door really sells this place. The only bad thing about this place is that they don't take reservations and once you put your name down you only have about 5 minutes to claim it and your entire party has to be present. But back to the food, we got the ghee dosa which was amazing and their chutney and sambar is delicious. I could drink the sambar by itself.
