Food is delicious. They have great customer service. I have eaten at many different Indian restaurants this one has the best food.

Got some food from this Indian restaurant that's bare bones. It certainly is one of the most basic looking restaurants in Naperville. Tandoor Hut is for certain not a classy place but the food makes up for this. A lot of the classic favorites. The prices can be kind of high but it's pretty big portions. Came in and it didn't look promising to be honest. It's located in a strip mall. The inside has the counter to order at and you can see all the food in the steam tables. A lot of what should be expected. There's plenty for meat eaters and vegetarians. It's about $16 for an entree. Kind of a lot but at least you get a lot. We were able to get a few things. I got the Gobi Manchurian. This is cauliflower in a spicy thick sauce. She got some kind of spinach apparently. These also include bread like naan or roti. Have to ignore the looks about inside. Probably the best tandoor in the Chicagoland area. The lasooni chicken (boneless garlic tandoori chicken) is the best i've had outside of India. Unassuming and unpretentious atmosphere with judicious pricing and generous portions. read more

A lunch thali with butter chicken, chicken korma and chicken vindalo with spicy biryani rice, naan and vegetable samosa. I shared with my fiance and our favorite was the butter chicken. The rice was very well spiced and spicy. The other two had distinct flavors which were nice. The naan was buttery and a very large portion. We added a vegetable samosa and everything was pretty good portions and great prices. Will definitely return if in the area! Very nice service too. read more

The food is amazing, the prices are good, and it's a very laid back atmosphere. Too many indian restaurants try simulating a fine dining experience and it is awkward feeling and the food is overpriced. I have a feeling most of the lower ratings are from the people who go during dinner rush to pick up orders because they get very busy and aren't organized to handle it. However, despite any flaws they have in their service, I just don't care because the food is so delicious. read more

What I love about this place is the bargain! The lunch special is $8 and I got a Coke Zero and a gulab jamun (sweet) for a total of $11. This restaurant is good for what it is and that's fast food indian. I would rank this as slightly below a standard Indian food buffet. The variety was good and I love that they let you taste everything on their menu before you order. Is it the best Indian food I've ever had? Certainly not. But it hit the spot and has quick service. Particularly, the naan wasn't that amazing (a little hard and not as fluffy as usual), but it was sufficient. I would definitely go back to this restaurant when I want a quick fix to my Indian food cravings. Smelly food and attitude of the staff is bad. They don't wear gloves/Mask. Main cook comes out once in a while with food particles and turmeric patches on the apron. The quality of food here is gone down . The items on the menu do not have the consistency each time . The chefs say we have changing cooks all the time hence the food will not taste the same . I told the manager the food I ordered which was Chile bhatura did not taste the way it used to be he said he will come talk to me and he never came back . The tastiest meal I've had all week. It's going to knock something off my weekly restaurant list. The spices were all perfect, the naan warm and shift, and the presentation perfect in the new metal trays. I am pleasantly stuffed for about $10.50 but I did get a $3 lassi yogurt drink. My only suggestion to get transparent plastic lids so that Indian food novices can see the various dishes or put more of then up on the 8 tvs they have. read more

This is my second visit to this place and my last! Nasty, nasty attitudes! The reason why I came is 1) I'm vegetarian and 2) I like Indian food. I usually go to Masalas, next door, which has great food, but because I was in the mood for variety, I stopped in here. The door was ajar and I went in and asked the Indian woman behind the counter if they were yet open and she replied in a very nasty manner with an accompanying facial expression, "What, What do you want"! It appears as though they have set up an atmosphere of a "little India", and if you are an outsider, guessing particularly of my descent, you are not welcomed. I felt like I was being treated as though I was from a lower cast. They begrudgingly served me the first time, what behooved me to return again?? Upon my first visit, when I asked what was certain items, they either ignored me or told me in a nasty manner. This is America, and America welcomes all. With this in mind, if you open a business establishment in America, you too must equally and politely serve all. If you only want certain people to patronize you, kindly place a sign on the door. Although the Tandoor Hut is located inside the strip mall that time forgot, it's pretty awesome. Just be prepared: - It's kind of crusty on the inside, and it's cafeteria-style, sneeze guards and all - If you're an Indian food novice, it's a little intimidating But it's so good. The staff was really helpful when we were trying to decide on what to order. You can get free samples to taste stuff! And the best part is, they totally trusted us enough to pay for dinner after we ate. It gave me warm fuzzies. The highlights of the meal for me were the naan and the chili chicken. The naan came on a huge plate all warm, buttery, and awesome. The chili chicken was chunks of chicken fried with some peppers and then totally covered in red pepper flakes. I've always been iffy about places that serve cafeteria style (who knows how long that food's been there!) but I've heard great things about the authenticity of the food here. The first impression was pretty sad-- random strip mall, no decor, sneeze guards, etc. The staff was very friendly though and let me sample a few things while I figured out what I wanted to order. I got the butter chicken (tikka masala), veggie samosa, and an order of naan. I was a little surprised at the small portion size given the price, but the portion of naan was pretty big so I guess that's fair. They did have a dine-in lunch special, which gives you five (small portions) different entrees for $8. Honestly, I would love to have gotten that but I really didn't feel like trying all those dishes alone in that kind of atmosphere. The samosa was good; I might start stopping by here to get them for my afternoon snacks. The naan isn't as fluffy as I usually like, but the only real problem I had with it is that my stomach is too small to fit all of its buttery goodness. Sad. Nothing about Tandoor Hut was mindblowing, but if you're looking for a quick fix for an Indian food craving, it'll do just fine. read more

I FOUND A PIECE OF STEEL DISH SCUBBING SPONGE IN MY FOOD! when i asked the man to wrap up my chicken pieces in the naan to make it as a "to go" roll... he looked at me half dazed and confused, as if he'd never heard of indian tandoori naan/ paratha wraps before. I've driven past this place many times and decided to stop in last week. It must have been between the lunch and dinner rush, because there were no other customers around and some of the workers looked like they were chilling out watching some Indian TV program. (Sorry to ruin your break, fellas!) Now, if you can get over the fact that they have fly paper that needs to be changed hanging precariously over the serving area, then do give the food a try. The folks behind the counter were very helpful in helping me choose what to get. I had a two curry combo, butter chicken and an eggplant curry (along with rice and naan). Both curries were awesome. The mango lassi I had with the combo was a bit lackluster, but hit the spot on a hot summer day. The butter chicken was so good I had a double order to go. A must every time I am in town. The workers took time to not only get to know my family but greet us and listen to what we were looking for flavor or familiarity-wise. My new favorite. This place is good, inexpensive and simple for the untrained india-(food)-lover. Service is great - considering what this place is, one step up from a deli. Love going here. No grill presentation but great food. Plus as someone not familiar with the dishes I have to say they are very patient explaining the dishes to me. I rarely get around to eating Indian Food (let alone, out of town) and so when the opportunity presents itself, I jump at it. Gotta say I love the options and the Naan bread is very flavorful and fluffy.
