The food was fantastic and the taste was so authentic. Love the chutney assortments they serve. The ambiance is so pretty it transported us to India. The service was really good.

The first thing we asked was about Vada and they said they're out of it. The restaurant opens at 11:30 and our reservation for 2 o'clock. They started with different chutney on the table. The chutney are not good We ordered the gunpowder Italy. It came on a silver platter with lots ghee. Service was very good. Our waitress tried very hard to accommodate our requests , when we asked management a question about our experience she was not kind to our waitress and blamed it on our waitress right in front of our table. Management needs some severe training on hospitality and communication to staff to flawlessly make this restaurant run. Ambiance is great Good is amazing and authentic short Indian. Will definitely go back there for good

I am really really glad they labeled vegan items; or it makes it very hard to explain and find the right vegan items at an Indian restaurant. After a long time, I ate really good idli. This maybe the simplest of South Indian foods but very restaurants get it right .. I hope they can keep it consistent. My only qualm about this place is its seating - feels chaotic, and tables are too close to each other.

So I visited the same place with the same order as I loved the food from the last time. While the food was tasty and consistent I was disappointed with the service. The staff last month was attentive and interactive and very helpful. The staff this time seemed little all over the place. We had empty plates left on our table till the very end. It just needs more training.

Idli Stole the show We recently visited Simply South for lunch with three families, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The entrance is welcoming, with clean surroundings .A big plus point is that they have their own parking. We had made a lunch reservation in advance. The seating was comfortable, and the staff was polite and attentive throughout. Now coming to the food -- it was a true South Indian delight. We tried a variety of items, and each had something special to offer. The dosa was crisp and tasty, and the sambhar had just the right amount of spice and tang. However, the potato filling inside the dosa was slightly on the spicier side, which may not be ideal for kids or those with a mild palate. The medu vada was a highlight -- super soft and fluffy, just the way it should be. But the star of the meal was definitely the idli. They were large, airy, and incredibly soft, easily the best among the dishes we tried. Everyone at the table loved them. Simply South offers an authentic South Indian meal in a clean, family-friendly environment. Great food, smooth service, and good ambiance -- we'd definitely come back for another round of those amazing idlis!

Big space with lots of table. On weekdays morning are easy to get in but make reservation for evening and weekends. Service was fast and good. Our server name might be Kusumam, she was helpful in ordering. I was not familiar this many types of dosa and idal so she helped a lot. They r gng to increase the menu. Mix of northindian, indo Chinese and south style food. Join, sawminarayan options. Could not try filter coffee as machine was not working but will come again to taste it. Thatte Idli Mix- 4/5- loved the flavor one was spicy for me but good flavor. Masala Chai - 4/5 - masala was good Nittya Dosa masala - 4/5 - spicy for me but good crunch. Veg keema biryani - 4/5 - you can taste spice raita was needed for me Gajar Halwa - 4/5

Loved Simply South! The food tastes very authentic and reminds me of home. The dosas were crisp, the sambar and chutneys were flavorful, and everything felt fresh. Service was quick and polite. Definitely a go-to place for South Indian food.

Simply South just opened in Warrenville and it's already one of my favorite Indian restaurants in the Chicago suburbs. Not surprised it was named one of NYT's Top 50 Favorite Places in the USA it seriously lives up to it. The space is super cute with handmade oil paintings and really nice details throughout. Everything we got was delicious and actually came out looking really nice too they clearly put effort into presentation, not just the food. We got there right at 5PM when they opened and there was already a line outside. It stayed packed the whole time, but the staff was super friendly and handled it all really well. Even with how busy it was, service didn't miss a beat. We tried a lot of food and honestly enjoyed everything: Veggie Manchurian - best I've had Malabar Parotta - fresh, flaky layers Chole Bature Pullattu Benne Dosa Paneer Tikka Thotakura "Liver Fry" Biryani Gulab Jamun, Mango Ras Malai, Caramel Falooda Mango, Chikoo & Sitaphal Shakes Masala Chai Tower of 6 chutneys all so good They have one full main menu, plus two additional ones a Low/Mild Spice Menu and a Swaminarayan/Jain Menu with over 450 items total. They also do rotating thalis on weekends. Definitely make a reservation if you can. They take walk-ins too, but there will probably be a wait. Totally worth it.

This was my second visit to the restaurant since it opened a couple months ago. The first visit was amazing. I was super impressed by the food that I was recommending this place to a lot of my friends, but the second visit in two months after my first visit wasn't as great as my first one meaning the quality of the food and the taste of the food is not same as last time so this means that like any other restaurant this restaurant has also started to decline in the quality of the food. It isn't as bad but not something I would highly recommend. The management needs to really get back in the game cause this was a huge decline in the quality and the taste of the food in 2 to 3 months

I came here for lunch and ordered a Maysor Masala Dosa, Chana Bhatura, Mushroom 65, and a Veggie Uttapam. Before ordering, we asked the server to make everything mild. She told us the food was premade and already mild, but that was very misleading. All of the dishes came out extremely spicy. My Maysor Dosa was cold and arrived just two minutes after placing the order, which made it feel like it wasn't freshly prepared. The Mushroom 65 was double fried, very dry, and not enjoyable. Overall, the experience was disappointing from both a food and service standpoint. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

Kervepaku mushrooms... so delicious, i am still dreaming about this

It's such a welcome change to have 2 veg South Indian restaurants in the same strip mall . The decor and vibe are welcoming, staff are polite and knowledgeable about the food and recommendations.... I am still dreaming of the the mushroom Kervepaku appetizer who needs mutton when you can make vegetarian so delicious . The gobi Manchurian was quite popular in our group, the Babai. Idli and Nellore idli were both good butt I wasn't too impressed with their quality of ghee wasn't aromatic and tad bit disappointing. I was quite excited to try the popular Andhra dishes peserattu, onion rava dosa and vadas . All of which were delicious. The big disappointment was the chole batura , the chole needs to be improved. Also, the service can get a bit slow , this was on a weekday evening... can't imagine what the weekends are like .

Jeevana M.

Simply South's weekday thalis are better priced than on weekends and offer excellent value. Must-Try: Benne Masala dosa (loaded with butter!) and thatte idli (incredibly soft). The chutney assortment is outstanding. Service & Ambiance: Good overall experience. Needs Improvement: Reservation and seating flow could be better organized.

Amazing South Indian restaurant! Way better than A2B!! The servers are nice and friendly. They also don't push you unlike A2B. Everything is vegetarian and delicious. They have something for everyone. Everything is made fresh and full of flavor. This is our new favorite Indian restaurant. The decoration is really nice and the restaurant is clean. The service was fast. Loved everything about it

Delicious and authentic South Indian food. Some of the menu items were a little too spicy for me, but definitely going back.

And while it may be a little difficult to find it, it proves the maxim that good things are worth looking for (if that's not a maxim, it is now). The owner roasts his own coffee beans, roasts chicken in house, uses orgcanic greens, makes his own salad dressing, and makes soups from scratch daily. Plus, he serves breakfast, with all the accoutrements one would want. I enjoyed a fresh cup of coffee, some scrambled eggs with sausage, and an English muffin. It was all tasty. The star of the show, however, was the sample of lentil soup he gave me. As I was paying for my bill, I said to Ashraf, the owner: "I'll be back next week to buy some beans from you. And if I like your soup, I'll buy that too. Trust me." "I do trust you," Ashraf said. "And I trust my soup. You'll be back" He was right. I tried the soup that afternoon. It's delightful, flavorful, and made with love. I went back two days later, and bought my coffee beans, and a quart of lentil soup. This is my new favorite place.

Staff were really friendly and I received 2 nice greetings even though I was just picking up a mobile order. The inside was clean and quiet too around 1pm when I stopped by. I ordered one of those bagel stacks sandwiches because I had a $5 off coupon in the app that was expiring today. Haven't had it before and it was really good. I got the steak one with the new Asiago Everything bagel and added some cucumbers, mixed greens, and sliced tomatoes and pepperoncini and found the sandwich to be more than filling. The steak is actually decent and doesn't taste fake like other chain places and the salsa verde spread is refreshing with a nice zip to it. I paid just over $4 with tax and tip and actually feel the sandwich could even be a decent value at regular price.

First is that the service feels a bit below the standards that I expect from a Panera. That is, I didn't get the usual greeting from an employee, followed by someone asking if I need any help. It felt that most everyone went straight to the ordering kiosks, avoiding the usual interactions. It was also a bit difficult to hear orders being called though fortunately there was an order tracker and I received a text when food was ready. Also, the cleanliness of the tables could've been improved as the restaurant wasn't super busy when I visited but none of the tables I looked at seemed to be wiped down particularly well. In terms of the actual food available. There were all the usual options available to purchase, with bakery goods arrange fairly neatly as well. No complaints about the quality of the food, but I wish the overall ambiance and restaurant upkeep was a little better.

My wife spotted this place across the street - Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay. How could we go wrong? Well, we couldn't. The interior was smartly outfitted - the lighting, the ceilings, the walls, were all classy and nicely done. Service was outstanding - water and soft drink glasses were refilled regularly, and the table checked for food quality on multiple occasions. I was intrigued by their Prime Rib Sandwich, which is served with onion crisps. I went for the $4 upgrade to Truffle Fries. The sandwich was LARGE, very tasty, and just plain wonderful to eat. The Truffle Fries added a bit of spice to the meal. My wife had their Fish & Chips. When I saw the sandwich on the side just coming out of the kitchen, I was wondering how she'd eat it, since the piece of fish was BIG. Like How Do I eat this BIG. Ambience was fine, not overly impressive, we could hear the expediter and the kitchen. Service seemed average, waitress was friendly but not overly attentive, especially with how few tables they had at the time. Had a mocktail that was so nondescript as to be completely unmemorable. Coffee was good, just hard to get enough refills. Potato-leek soup with chili oil drops resembled thin baby food, and was so tasteless, we had to request salt and pepper. They didn't even have salt and pepper shakers; it came in small tumblers. The Beef Wellington from the prix fixe menu was smaller than expected for the price. The beef was fine but was more like a filet than a beef tenderloin. The mushroom coating was far too earthy and tasted a little bit like dirt. The pastry was kind of raw on the inside. The sides that came with the Beef Wellington were a schmeer of mashed potatoes - which were okay - and a tiny pile of steamed carrots and leeks. The chocolate tart was good, but not incredible. Did not live up to the hype or the "Ramsey Reputation;" will probably not return. Overall experience - kind of "meh."
