We went to Ocean Buffet about a week ago and had a terrible experience. Tonight, we couldn't think of what to eat but wanted Asian food, then remembered AA China Super Buffet (funny name but whatever). It's like the tried-and-true buffet restaurant for us. My family I have been dining at AA China Super Buffet for a couple of years, and it's always been pretty good, usually lunch or dinner. It's pretty much what you would expect from a fairly busy restaurant. Here's my review after visiting over the past 2 years. I grew up in the SF Bay Area (Northern Cali) so I've had my share of buffet throughout the years. I truly feel this restaurant deserves a visit. [Good] Food is prepared and presented well Not as bland as other buffet restaurants, actually tastes good Pretty good selection of items for kids, and adults Sushi is actually pretty good, surprisingly good for a buffet Stuffed mushrooms are really good; I usually take most of them. sorry folks. The drinks (soda, lemonade, etc..) aren't watered down. Appreciate that! This buffet is very good! I'm not sure why it has three stars, I did not see anything in the Restaurant that warranted a three star review. The food was plentiful, you could tell it was fresh, it was hot, so many choices!! We were greeted with a smile from everybody, service was impeccable. The restaurant was clean. I cannot tell you how much I love this place. Especially the angel hair Lo Mein, the teriyaki chicken on a stick, and the green beans. My friend and I fill up on 3 good things and we are happy for a month or so. I kidnapped my grown son to bring him here from Euless, TX a couple months ago. He used to love this place when he lived in Crowley. Now I live in Fort Worth but have a friend in Burleson, so I have a good excuse to keep coming here. The food sucks. It's been out there for a while, and I saw a cook pick up a dropped shrimp and put it back in the boil. And this is coming from a born and raised 87% Chinese man. I like the selection of dessert here. The low rating is because I was uncomfortable with the hibachi meat just sitting out there for a long while. It's also because the other dishes just didn't really taste good? I inspected the place based on other reviews--yes, the sweet and sour sauce is runny. The Oreo ice cream is really quite good with its gelato texture and I enjoyed the fact that there's an entire tray of almond cookies. One thing I saw was that the tongs were very dirty. That's not good because it could contaminate other plates and such, you know? I noticed you all played Christian music and that was cool. Very rare. The employees there were a little bit, well not rude. More like they didn't want to be there, which was fair. It does seem like an old restaurant but it seems more quaint than dilapidated. Except for the old rice cooker, which was valiantly trucking along despite it being the newest technology from the 80s. Poor thing. Please take it home and care for it. And replace with a bigger rice cooker. The water tastes bad, but the huge bowl of cantaloupe makes up for it. The star rating on this place is entirely accurate. Not the worst place, maybe would give you food poisoning... not us, though. Three stars. read more

save yourself by not coming to this place. the moment my sister & i sat down we knew this place was trash. our server was so rude when she first came up to us. she asked for our drinks & as she was asking she proceeded to walk away before i could even answer myself. i feel bad for whoever has to work with that rude lady. this place itself was fine to be in, but that does not make up for the rudeness we received from our server. and finally the food. the food was appealing in sight. barely any of the trays had food left on them so we had to scour around to find something to eat. the food itself wasn't great either. the sushi was bland, the eggrolls were nasty, & dumplings tasted of sawdust. & finally when all was done, our bill came to over $40 for 2 people AND we didn't even get our receipt. this is highway robbery. i have never been so disgusted & disappointed with a place in my life. this place should be sent a health inspector because i truly question the cleanliness of that kitchen. this place should be shut down for good. read more

BLAND. potstickers? A few months ago, my grandma wanted to go to GC and so I reluctantly took her and kids. Ever since, my kids keep asking me to take them to a buffet and at first I was like nah, there's better places to spend $50 at. I took them to a few and while I didn't care to go back, they enjoyed it. Teenagers eat like crazy, so it makes sense to take them to a buffet and let them eat until their heart's content without emptying my fridge in one day. We came on a Saturday. I was surprised at how much was on this buffet for Saturday lunch. Crawfish, oysters, clams, prime rib?!! While this is not the greatest prime rib ever. It's not bad for the price. The seafood might not have been the freshest, but it was clean. I did like some of what was offered like the salt and pepper shrimp. The egg drop soup and hot and sour soup were pretty good as well. The sushi I would pass on. My teens enjoyed it, so I would come back to this buffet. read more

The pictures are deceiving. The place was old and outdated as well as dirty and hot. The waitress were rude and short. The food was old, stale, greasy, and unsanitary with the tongs. We got upset tummy because of this place. We had about 1 plate each and didn't even finish and left. I even told the lady that my seafood salad was expired to take it out of the buffet and she just took my plate and left. She did not take it out of the buffet or even tell anyone and I'm telling you that salad spelled and was disgusting! AA China Super Buffet is an exemplary experience in good eating. The variety is top notch and the offerings always full. The environment is clean and the attentive staff is ubiquitous and courteous. The flavors are fresh and bold. The salad / dessert bar is clean and inviting. Both lunch and dinner offer very good value. Fair prices and high quality offerings are the rule of the day. I particularly enjoy the egg foo young and brown gravy offered at lunch... it is perfectly prepared. Food temperatures are always right on and there is an on call chef there to cook a variety of raw items for your selection. Finally, the sushi is outstandingly fresh and well displayed. After driving most of the day we stopped here while passing through the state heading back to Oklahoma. Definitely won't visit again. Very pricey. Dinner prices start at 3:30! 10 years and older $11.99. 9 year old $6.49. My husband and I with three kids 15 and younger cost $59 for lunch! We showed up at 3:28 and the hostess said they were already changing out to dinner foods so we had to pay dinner price. Well, AFTER we got our first plate filled and eaten, they had switched out items. There were a few dishes that were good but nothing was great. When we arrived, we had to ask for replacement waters because ALL five of our glasses were dirty on the outside and inside! Yuck! Chairs are sticky. Bathroom smelled like fish!! I order the Shrimp Fried Rice most of the time when I choose delivery. I love the way AA prepares it with lots of Shrimp, and love the onions the way they are done. Of all the Chinese places I've ordered from...AA Chinese Buffet is by far the BEST. I've had the buffet a few times and it's all delicious with so many choices of food. =Food= I love food! There are more than 10 kinds of sushi, including the fried shrimp one. Even ice creams have about seven flavors or so, including butter pecan!! (That's my favorite flavor, and I haven't seen any buffet restaurant that has butter pecan!) Some buffet restaurants do not make me feel welcome at all but it's a totally different experience here. From the homey earth tones decor to the uplifting awesome music to the delicious plethora of food, it's easily become my favorite buffet. I will say though that their servers are not as attentive to my drink as I'd like, just as other people have said. So I ask for a couple of waters and even then I get down to the ice. I recommend asking for at least two drinks, especially if you purchased one (which, btw, this buffet is a little more expensive)! But that's my only complaint. The reviews about flies and bad food and dirty blinds, that is in the past because I come here at least once a month and I have zero issues like that!!
