Went inside to inquire about a refund or exchange to be given . To be shown the photo attached below stating no returns or exchanges can be made. However , there is no sign in the drive thru advertising no refunds or exchanges all sales are final . The fait time for food was ridiculous given we waited about 20-30 minutes outside for food . When no other customers were present . I was also charged for honey mustard sauce when my meal came with chicken tenders. Overall the experience was unpleasant. Dan's Seafood is a fast casual restaurant on the South Side of FTW. Over all, no complaints. The food was decent, the prices are good, and the fried rice is seriously fantastic. The owners are nice and attentive, delivering the food to the table (when they could easily call you to come get it). It's good for what it is (similar to Lisa's Chicken, something said in other reviews, but it's the honest truth). Overall, I doubt i go back, but I had a lovely lunch with my dad (he likes this place). A solid 4 stars. read more

I've been coming to this spot since high school back in the early 2000s--this was *the* go-to spot for fried fish back in the day. So while I was in Ft. Worth, I figured I'd give it another try after so many years. The service was okay, but there was a bit of a language barrier since English is their second language--not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning. Now for the food... it could have been fresher, honestly. We ordered the egg rolls, fried fish with fried rice, and a two-piece dark. The fried rice was different from what I remembered--overcooked, lacking flavor, and no veggies in sight. The egg rolls? I could've done without them. But the chicken? That had a solid crunch when you bit into it--definitely the highlight of the meal. It wasn't terrible, but not quite what it used to be. Pretty good fried fish and chicken. I liked it a little bit more than Lisas honestly and the price fit the quality of food. Fish and Chicken came out fresh and hot and had a good taste, they provided tartar for the fish and ranch for the chicken without me having to ask which is always appreciated. Fries were nothing to write home about but a nice portion was provided. I also ordered some of their egg rolls and they were actually really good! They threw in some duck sauce for them and I thought they were a nice addition to the meal. All in all it's about what I expected and I will definitely be coming back to try some of their other menu items like their boiled shrimp or grilled tilapia! read more

The food is always fresh. The Thai chicken wings are my favorite crisp and the right amount of heat. The fried fish is consistently delicious with large filets. Let's just start with the customer service and I'll say the owner was such a nice man very polite and attentive! I asked for extra extra spicy on the shrimp fried rice and he made sure to make it for me, and let me tell you he did not disappoint. 1/2 lb headless shrimp with one corn and potato it was very tasty just a bit salty but it was delicious still.. with a light spice.. for the price it's a deal for sure . Most definitely be coming for more. Maybe next time I'll just try regular on the shrimp fried rice just so I can try it with out the spice but I'll most definitely get it spicy again ! I gave this 3 stars because of the fries. They tasted like they had been under a warmer for an hour or more. They were terrible. I got the fried fish and shrimp and they were cooked perfect, crispy and hot. However the coating on the fish had a bit of a cinnamon flavor to me not sure that is what it was but had a flavor I did not like. Based on my experience, management is more concerned about saving-a-buck (tip: read the condiment sign) than taking care of the customer. Stick to the drive-through. BACKGROUND: According to the sign posted on the exterior, it states that the restaurant closes at 9:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Additionally, there is another posted sign to the left, that says: Dining Room Closed at 8:45; Drive Thru Open till 9. I visited the restaurant (dine-in - a family of five) on Saturday, June 15th, 2019, at approximately 8:20 p.m. TERRIBLE SERVICE - PART I: We approached the counter and spent a few minutes deciding what to order. With our minds made-up, we gave the order to the woman behind the cash register. After ringing-up all of our orders, she announces, "Ok. These order will be to go." "Wait. What? To go? Why "to go?" The sign outside says, "lobby closes at 8:45." The young woman walks to the kitchen to confer with another employee. Upon returning, she says, "The lobby is closed, sir." I check my watch. It's 8:25 p.m. "But the sign outside says, "lobby closes at 8:45?" She then gave me a smug smile. We cancel our order and decide to take our business over to another restaurant. TERRIBLE SERVICE - PART II: Noting that the woman behind the counter that night was quite young - too young to be management, I decided to visit Dan's Seafood & Chicken during the day, in hopes that (1) I would get eat there and (2) I would run into a manager/owner. You know?... someone who cares. Boy! What a mistake! I paid the restaurant a visit on Tuesday, June 18th, sometime after 1 p.m., I believe. When I approached the counter, I noticed that it was a different woman there. I asked her, "Can I speak to a manager? Are you a manager? " "This is a family-run business. Sure! I'm one of the managers. How can I help you?" I explain to her what had transpired on Saturday night. I figured that once she saw it from my point-of-view - the customer, she would be upset and willing to make amends. Nope! That's not even close to what happened. Instead, she says, "8:25 p.m.? Yeah. That's late." "But the sign outside says, "lobby closes at 8:45?" "Yeah. But we've got to cook the food - which takes a while, and then you guys will take several minutes to eat... Didn't she tell you that your order will be "to-go?" "Yeah!... Only AFTER she rung-up the bill." "Hmm... Yeah. Still, she can close the lobby whenever she wants." It was at that point when I realized that the girl I was talking about was probably her daughter. With this in mind, I felt that it didn't matter what I said to her. She was not going to side with me - the customer. I decided to continue the argument, using logic. "Ma'am. Then why have a sign posted outside that says lobby closes at 8:45 p.m.? It was 8:25 p.m. when I placed my order. If you want to close the lobby earlier than 8:45 p.m., maybe you should change the sign to read something else?... Something earlier? If I had read 8:15 p.m., I probably would've turned around and left." Reluctantly, she says, "Ok. Well, sir, we'll consider your suggestion. Are you going to place an order?" It was an awkward moment. Maybe there was a misunderstanding. To show good faith and show that I wasn't just there to cash-in on a complimentary meal, I decided to place an order for myself and my daughter. My wife, which I later found out, refused to place an order based on her observations in how the manager responded to my concerns. TERRIBLE SERVICE - PART II (Free Water Situation): To complete my order, the manager asked, "What would you like to drink?" Every restaurant we go to, my family always ask for "water." Why? For health reasons. Unless were ordering from a food truck/stand, 99.9% we are handed a clear cup, which we then walk over to the soda fountain machine and press down on the "water" tab. Before I answer, I looked over to the soda machine in the lobby and noticed that the machine had a "water" tab. I tell the manager, "Water cups, please." "We don't have water cups. We have bottled water." "No water cups for customers?" As she hints towards the fridge, she says, "Look. Our bottles of water are 50¢. That's cheap!" (... What did she just say?! Did she basically call-me-out as being a cheap customer that has a difficult time sparing 50¢ for generic-bottom-shelf water (e.g., Ozarka)? Again. Is there another misunderstanding? Hmm... They have pictures of their selections on the wall so that you know what you are getting into, but they don't do it justice. My husband and I each ordered an entree and bought fried oysters to share. It was way too much food. Portion size is huge. Next time we know to split an entree. The chicken we ordered was extremely juicy and came out at the right temperature. In the last 6 months this location of Dan's has nose dived. The thickness of the fillets has dropped to the point that essentially there was no fish on a quarter of my purchase today. The shrinkage of fish was not factored into cook times, as the fillets were so overcooked that they were pure rubber and inedible. The french fries, which have always been just awful were completely inedible today. To add insult to injury, I paid for an extra tartar sauce only to get home and find that they had given me 2 portions of ranch dressing. Ranch? Really? For fish??? The only reason I rated this 2 stars instead of 1 is that Dan's used to be pretty good, and because when I drove all the way back to return the food and demand a refund the guy behind the counter was very nice about it. This place is legit. I'm normally not a fan of fried seafood, but this place does it right. It's salty, crispy, always piping hot. The batter isn't too thick and never soggy. They have many side options and it's all fresh. Even their chicken fingers are great. They aren't pre packaged generic ones. It's the same batter as their shrimp. It's unique and has a nice garlicky taste to it. I can't eat here a lot because it's heavy, but it's a great value with generous portions.
