We go for the Mongolian grill. It is nice and has a good variety of options that we find healthier than some of the buffet. Buffet is pretty standard. Good for large groups.

It is what it is. Asian King buffet is exactly what you would expect in a strip mall Asian buffet. The food is alright and service is pretty slow. They have sushi which is a nice option as well as a hibachi station. You could definitely fill up for a nice early bird price!

    So many choices

A beautiful chandelier greet you as you enter the restaurant. You pay for your buffet and beverage before entering the dining area. There are so many choices that I suggest walking around before grabbing your plate. My choices were all excellent and I wish I had more room in my stomach to try more. I will definitely be back. Their servers were constantly removing dirty plates, and filling up empty glasses. They even played happy birthday when we sang to our friend. We were there for over two hours, and never felt pressured to leave our corner. Several of the servers came in and were shelling green beans; talk about fresh!!

These two are racist and rude people.

Horrible service specially the people at the front they are extremely rude and racist.

Friendly staff. Clean interior. Good food choices. Went during lunch time (1pm) and there was a good amount of people in the restaurant. There were a lot of different foods on the line and they were tasty. I enjoyed the hibachi grill the most! I would love to see what the dinner line looks like, but for lunch time, this is a good place to go to if you want something fast, tasty, and inexpensive.

Fortune cookies served on dirty tray that just got dropped off at our table

Not worth it. Lo Mein had no flavor and overcooked, rice as well. Orange chicken was decent. Mushrooms tasted rotten, fish was dry. Mango jello was dry & hard on top as if it were sitting out for days. Fortune cookies were dropped off on a dirty tray by a server

So many yummy options here. Everything was very clean and tidy. Nice calm place to come when you just want to hang out. You can tell the employees take pride in working here, very on it about pre-bussing tables. Everything was delicious. 10/10

Not to bad. Not the best. But did offer a great amount of different things than what we've seen at other places.

While the bahn mi isn't exactly traditional, it is still very good -- I'd highly suggest getting it with the pate. The sampler appetizer has a little bit of everything and is great for sharing. Pineapple fried rice was delicious. Pad Thai also great! If you're a spicy eater like me, just go for very spicy. They have 4 spice levels (mild, medium, spicy, very spicy) and this is a reminder to myself to get very spicy next time. Thanks for the delicious meals!

A quick note on seating: the patio is lovely in theory, with the optional open windows and a breezy feel, but the chairs are not winning any comfort awards. Inside booths are the move. Also worth noting, this is Fort Worth, and once the thermometer hits triple digits, the patio conversation ends itself if the windows are open. Plan accordingly. Malai starts every table with steamed sticky rice and an eggplant dip, which is a charming little ritual and a genuinely good one. We also kicked things off with the Edamame, a heads up on the heat level there, and the Fried Imperial Rolls, filled with ground pork and shrimp and served with a sesame soy sauce. Fair warning: these do not photograph well and arrive at the table looking a little shy. Don't be fooled. They're flavorful, subtly spicy, and well worth ordering. For entrees, we tried the Basil Vegetable Fried Rice two ways, one vegan and one with chicken. The vegan version was a genuine surprise, with vegetables cooked just right and a flavor that didn't need the chicken to make its case. The mushrooms, however, had the texture of something you'd find in a hardware store. Chew at your own risk. The Green Curry, meanwhile, was a case of too much of a good thing. The curry was so heavy-handed it drowned everything underneath it. Sometimes restraint is a virtue. Save room for the Banana Pot de Crème. It's creamy, subtly sweet, and a graceful finish to the meal. The service at Malai is enthusiastic, and I do mean enthusiastic. The staff works as a team, all smiles, attentive, always nearby. Occasionally a little too nearby. More than once a plate nearly disappeared before we were done with it. It's a small complaint, and honestly a far better problem than the alternative. They're warm, cheerful, and clearly enjoy what they do, which goes a long way. Portions are generous, so order a few dishes and share the wealth. For a lunch stop between shops, Malai Kitchen punches well above its weight.
