NEW HALAL HOTDOGS IN SATX…read more Mad Dogs has officially made its way to San Antonio! Some refer to it as being home to the "best dogs in Texas" , serving up hotdogs, smash burgers, and more with a flavorful twist. Oh, and everything is 100% HALAL! Oh thank goodness for these guys! I've tried them out in Houston and they live up to the hype! Their creations are super cool like their elote dog, brisket dog, and specialty mad dog to name a few! My favorite right now is the Mad Dog or the loaded brisket fries With locations in the Houston Area, Austin, and now San Antonio, Mad Dogs is showing Texas what it's been missing out on! Come try them out for yourself at Lombrano Food Hall! Note: Lombrano food hall has a bunch of different establishments within it, but, there's no indoor seating. They have a couple of benches outside but the spot is mainly meant for takeaway or delivery

Most often I feel like restaurants that serve hotdogs are not the greatest but this location was phenomenal. I was not able to go in person but I ordered from the restaurant and even then everything arrived in great condition, good packaging, and still delicious. I enjoyed the corn hotdog the most, it was a nice combination of flavors. The buns were thick, fluffy and the sausage itself was juicy and good size. Thanks again!

Brought my husband here for the restaurant week menu, and I've now loved both meals I've had here!…read more I absolutely loved the fisherman's stew. I noticed it didn't seem to be as popular as some of the other options, so I have to say... don't sleep on this delightful, light, brothy wine stew! Each piece of seafood was perfectly poached, soaking up all that delicious flavor while adding its own sweet seafood lovin' to the broth. The steak was also cooked perfectly. I've done the beverage pairing both times, and while I enjoyed the experience, I don't think I'll order it again--I'm just not an egg cream girl. My friend happily enjoyed it for both of us, though! Another wonderful meal and definitely a place I'll return to.

Everything was well timed, except when we were trying to get the check. All the staff seemed to be kind and professional. The patio is lovely, but I imagine it can be uncomfortable in the summer heat. Now for the food. Overall it was good. I found some components spectacular, but felt like some lacked seasoning. I was looking forward to the arancini the most. The croquet itself was crunchy and that cheese was definitely telefono style, but needed some seasoning. The pomodoro was tasty, but the basil made it fabulous. Y'all know how I feel about basil. The ravioli was filled with spinach, mushroom, and ricotta with a brown butter sage sauce. It was delicious and the portion was perfect. My favorite part though was the crunchy shitaki "bacon"and butternut squash. I would take a bowl of that in a heartbeat and would absolutely go back for a butternut squash main dish. It was perfectly roasted and full of flavor and those shitaki were amazing. The preserved lemon vinaigrette over lettuces was phenomenal. Incredible fresh flavor. Desert was chocolate torte and sour cream ice cream. The ice cream was the absolute star of the show. The sweet vanilla was incredible. I sampled the halibut and shrimp and it was perfectly cooked. I would definitely come back to try other offerings.

BLUF: Delicious pies and a quiet place to sit…read more This awesome spot is located right across from Halcyon . It is in a shopping center of sorts in a commercial establishment here in San Antonio. I say this because it lets you know that there are two entrances and you'll be graded regardless , but you will be indicated where to sit if you go to the hostess front desk by the firewood first Customer service was outstanding and earned this place. It's fifth star. I was made to feel welcome and when the sun in the San Antonio skies was shining right in my face through a window because of the time of the afternoon, I knew I would have no luck studying, so I was moved without hesitation. I know that switching tables might be a little bar but believe me when I'm telling you that simply doing a job versus doing it with a smile, makes the world of a difference to me. The food was fantastic by the way , I'd be remiss if I didn't gush about the meatballs and the pizza. I have never tried spicy honey chicken before and I'm glad that I chose this spot to do it for the first time. Everything is literally made to order right then, and there and the absolute freshness of the ingredients shows from the first bite to the very last. There seemed to be other people studying there too as well as what looked like groups of 2 to 8 occupying various tables so this establishment lends itself to family or party friendly dinner reservations.

Had great service throughout the meal and enjoyed the ambience on the patio ! Went with a mocktail and the ricotta and peach on toast! It was delicious and had a slight spicy kick which was great! Also tried the Brussels sprout / those were okay but would have preferred them more charred / roasted but still good! Always a great spot in Southtown!
