Got recommended this place after hubby went with his co workers. For Memorial Day close would be 3 pm CST. When you walk in you have the option to do a to go order on the kiosk or stand in line to order in/to go. While in line you are in line where they hold their bakery items, smart business move as it definitely enticed me to order some baked goods! We got 2 kouign amann, one cheesecake and one strawberry. Both were so good and not overly sweet. I'll definitely get it again and try other options they have. The food is really good and tasty! I got the torta Chicken milanesa with fideo soup and hubby got the half/half salad chicken milanesa. Service was great despite it being so busy. We didn't have to wait too long for our food to get to our table which is awesome considering. The overall feel of the place is social and well spaced. Definitely will be coming back! read more

The food was absolutely fantastic, but you could tell they were absolutely swamped with the crowd and weren't handling it the best. I don't think it's the staff's fault, more a shortcoming of the kitchen setup, but it still caused a pretty significant wait. We tried to go on a Saturday morning, not realizing how popular it was, and it was a total no-go. So we ordered ahead for Sunday morning, planning to just pick up and bring food back to the house. The food was ready when we arrived, but the coffee wasn't (I don't think they have a fridge or warmer to keep drinks at the right temperature, so they don't make them until you come in to pick up.) We had to remind them that we'd ordered drinks and we ended up waiting another 20-30 minutes, our food in hand, while we waited on 3 iced coffee orders. I think the issue was a mix of crowds and kitchen layout. They were very clearly trying to make sure that the people who were seated in the restaurant were being served as well, but all of the drink orders were going through this one, tiny coffee station that frankly couldn't keep up. And I think our drink orders were basically added at the end of the drink queue when we arrived to pick up our order. We didn't get any sort of priority because we'd technically ordered ahead. We essentially skipped the line, but not the queue on drinks. All in all, I'd definitely want to visit again. The food and drinks WERE really great. I had the avocado toast with chicken and for a seemingly simple dish it was absolutely phenomenal. The abuelita's was the best of the 3 iced coffee offerings we tried, and I would definitely order again. But we'll definitely have to plan/strategize around crowds and be prepared for a long wait even if we order ahead. read more

As a local, I've never made too much of an effort to come here since I feel like so many locals see this place as a tourist attraction. I also can never justify spending so much money on pan dulce but I will say their pan dulce does look elevated compared to your local panaderia in the city. However my husband and I came in for lunch and were so impressed with how delicious our tortas were! My husband got the Mexican Cubana torta on Birote and I had the La Vegetariana torta on a croissant. For our side we each got the Cesar salad which had a Mexican twist to it in terms of the dressing. Each of us really liked our tortas, with each bite we kept commenting on how surprised we were at how good the food was. We had each been here before years and years ago but didn't remember the food being as delicious as it was. My only gripe is that my sandwich was so messy but I think trying my torta on a different bread would've fixed that. The service was decent, when you work at a popular restaurant on a weekend I'm sure by the time you get to lunch after the breakfast rush everyone is tired and that seemed to be the case here. A lot of the sodas were out of syrup also, but again, this was on a Sunday after the breakfast rush so these things happen. Overall we'd love to come back, it's silly that we steered away from here for so long! read more

Came here at 8am on Saturday, staff was really friendly and welcoming! Greeted as soon as we came in and provided a menu and instructed us how to order. I got a churro latte which i loved and the foam was very yummy. It was on the sweeter side so wouldn't recommend if you don't like sweet. We ordered the breakfast sandwiches which are big portions, even the kids on was a lot. The pastries all look beautiful we were too full to eat all the ones we ordered but the concha was really soft inside and not too sweet. read more

There's plenty of seating inside and out but it was full. I ordered me a churro croissant cinnamon roll and peineta. I everything looked tasty. I did think the cinnamon roll was not dense or super dry. The peineta was nice and soft plus chocolaty. Definitely will be back for more. This not like the west side Panadería so don't expect that. I was in the area and wanted some of their delicious conchas. I didn't stop by for food, just for the baked goods. They had a seasonal concha with Ferrero Rocher filling. Of course I had to get that one. It was large and definitely shareable. I also got a mini concha vanilla flavored. They have a lot of pastries to choose from, but you can never go wrong with a concha. The restaurant is big enough with plenty of a seating if you do want to eat there. Hikers, families, bikes and couples are all enjoying a chill Sunday breakfast today. The pasteries are beautiful and packed with great flavor. We could not resist the blueberry croissant. It did not disappoint. An El Favorite selection with chorizo and eggs was served on a spiral croissant. The chorizo was very mild. The Hawaiiana torta had grilled pineapple, Swiss cheese, cilantro mayo, chipolte mustard, pickled jalapeno, and smoked pork loin. The torta was good, very filling and not lacking in the flavor department. This was our second visit to LA Panaderia and it did not disappoint. The food is good, hot and tasty. The favorites and tortas can be heavy if fully consumed. La Panaderia is a great introduction into Mexican pasteries. This is a different location to the one we usually go to. The wait wasn't very long and even though the parking lot was packed it wasn't a long wait to get in or order. The employees are nice and the food was great. Honestly, the frosted doors of the bathroom were super odd! I know people outside can't see in, but I also don't want to see the silhouette of the person outside waiting to come in. It was just a no for me. With that being said, this location is their newest addition to their portafolio and as expected it did not disappoint. This location is a little smaller compared to others, but I think is tailored to locals. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, but please note that they can get pretty busy. My go-to order is their chicken milanesa with telera bread and side salad. Please do yourself a favor and order this! The chicken is always cooked to perfection and the balance between the aguacate and jalapeños is absolutely outstanding. My clients ask me to get conchas from here often, so I comply. I don't typically eat processed sugar if I can help it, but they look so yummy and smell Devine. The food looks delicious and the drinks are nice. The atmosphere is nice, but I felt a little uneasy the last time I came to this location. There was a woman who was telling people what to do, but wasn't wearing their uniform. I thought she was a patron at first. She was in a cute outfit standing next to the take out area. I didn't realize she worked there. She looked like a pissed customer. She had a horrible expression on her face and the back of the counter looked tense. Come to find out this woman is the owners wife. She was super rude, looked mad as ever, and did not say hello to customers. She did not have a friendly aura. She was getting on the employees and it was super tense. I understand you have to hold people accountable, but her attitude was really off putting and strange. She didn't say a lot, but her vibe was terrible. It really bothered me when I left. I just think for the business, it wasn't a good look and I don't think I'll be coming back again because of it. The thing my wife and I get is something I would never expect to find there, the best baquette we have ever had. We dont make an Italian meal at home without it. Uffff! We loved this place! Cute little bakery cafe tucked in the city area of SA. We enjoyed a good Dubai chocolate concha (highly recommend) not pictured sadly. We got avocado toast, sunny side up croissant, Mexican Cubano torta, French toast Classico, and Tres Leches cold foam Matcha (which is a lot sweeter than I like). The food was 10/10, so good, and full of flavors! We all loved our food so much and honestly I'm still thinking about it lol! The big, bold Alamo Burger leaned heavier and greasier than my usual savory preference. Came in an hour before closing because this is the only location open late and the workers stated they were closed. We had even called before heading over and the AI thing said they were open and had in stock certain things. Their door says they close at 8 pm. Either they're choosing to close early for fun or nothing is updated AKA their phone, their door sign, google, apple, everything ??? They also gave no explanation of their signage. This is so frustrating because all the locations are central San Antonio and far to get to living on far southwest side. La Panadería has a new location near the Pearl! What a great location, and what a great cleaned up decor. There's more parking available at this location too, a feature that is severely lacking at their other restaurants in the city. This location has an updated menu with more options for sides, including a lentil soup and a veggie rice, both delicious. Their tortas, baked goods and coffees are as delicious as ever, tasty, fresh and just succulent! This bakery / restaurant has mastered the art of baking like very few others have in Texas. I speak from experience having lived for a decade in Montreal, where bakeries are treasured. We will definitely be back and I don't see myself visiting other locations now that this one is around. I'm ashamed to say I had never been to any of the locations of La Panaderia but it's always been high on my "want" list. When this new location opened I knew I had to visit. We started off sitting outside because it was a nice day and the chairs out there are so comfortable. It started to rain so we headed inside and the interior is so well decorated. I had the croncha (cross between croissant and concha) and I wanted to go back for seconds. It was so light and airy with the sweet crunchy concha topping was perfect. The chicken in my salad was seasoned really well and they give two dressing for the salad, one spicy and one mild. It was a simple salad but so delicious.
