I paid half up front and waited for work to start, 3 weeks later I find they forgot to put me on their schedule. When they showed up, it was not the crew I was told would be there, just one guy with a shovel instead of power equipment. He dug some trenches 12" deep and others 3" deep. He said it was harder digging in the backyard so he only went 3" deep. He broke an existing PVC drainage line and started putting duct tape on it to fix it. I said fix it correctly and he left the job site. I called the office and they said he will be back in the morning to fix it. While I was standing there with him, in front of the broken pipe, he buried it without fixing it. I made him dig it up and fix it. When the sprinkler heads were installed and adjusted, I started the sprinkler system to test it. It watered the side of my house and my neighbors yard. He said the 25 foot ratchet heads were could not water an 8' wide yard without getting water on the house. They came out the next day and replaced the heads and tried again. They had issue after issue and moved and changed the type of head three more times. It was a total clown show. The sprinklers did not go to the property line and I had 18" of dead yard. A Relationship Manager came over and he looked at everything and said he would fix the following day, which he did. The next day everything was fixed and I was happy. The manager handed me a letter from the ladies in the office. I thought it was a gift certificate to a local restaurant for all the trouble I experienced, but it was a letter stating that they were done working on my sprinkler system and any other repairs or issues will cost me $82 an hr. It was a slap in the face and poor customer service. They turned a one day job into a nightmare without one word of regret.

As a former contractor, I understand full well that things happen, mistakes occur. I try not to publicly condemn a small business until they've had a chance to remedy the problem. In the case of ACE PRESSURE WASHING, LLC - I feel obliged to let others know what we have experienced. On June 19th we hired ACE to soft wash our house. After less than 2 hours, they claimed to be finished. The house was still dirty in several areas. When I complained, I was told to speak with George, the sales rep. His initial response was to try to convince me that during the initial consult, he wiped the side of our house and said that "This all isn't going to come off". That was a complete lie. If so, why would we agree to pay $730 for an incomplete job???? Not only was our house not cleaned as promised, but we ended up with water streaming down on the inside of our windows and Water flooding into the side door on our garage. AT LEAST THREE OF OUR WINDOWS ARE DAMAGED AND NEED TO BE REPLACED. (one is barely 1 year old) The soap they used has left STREAKS ON OUR SIDING that has not come off after three washings. As soon as we notified ACE of the problems with our windows and siding, CRICKETS. A couple days later, the owner of the company AARON LUTHI texted me and asked to come by the house the next day. We agreed, hoping we would get some satisfaction. Instead, he cancelled our appoint 1/2 hour after he was supposed to arrive. I have not heard from him since, even though I have texted twice and left a VM with the office. STILL CRICKETS. I sent an email, outlying the issues requesting that ACE contact us with 10 days. I followed up with a certified letter that they received yesterday. STILL CRICKETS. The bad news is that the State of Oregon no longer requires pressure washing companies to be licensed by the Construction Contractors Board, which means they can no longer be held responsible for their shoddy work without going to court. We are hoping it doesn't come to that - but fully prepared to do so. The one thing I can do is warn others.

Chris and his team from Nature Bros installed small retaining walls and leveled out the slipping path. Crew lead, Luis and Isidro worked tirelessly to make it attractive as well as safe. The two men were joined by Jose in replacing a collapsed retaining wall at the back side of the yard. (see photos) The owner, Chris, maintained excellent communicating throughout the projects. Everyone was professional, personable, attentive to our requirements and respectful of our property. The work was reasonably priced for fine quality. It's always difficult to know when looking to hire a small local company whether you will get what you are hoping for but we would recommend Chris and Nature Bros to anyone. In fact, we've already booked them for more work.

Pfeifer replaced my composite roof with a standing seam metal roof this winter. My experience was…read moreessentially perfect, or as perfect as one of the most stressful home purchases you'll make can be. I got four bids from local companies and while Pfeifer was not the cheapest, they had the best combination of knowledge, experience, and price out of the four. Sam's advice about the best underlayment and important details of the panel structure and flashing made Pfeifer stand out from the pack. Pfeifer scheduled the removal of my composite roof for the next time that the weather cleared. Hector and his crew were out here early every day, and they worked hard. They worked almost every day for about a week including coming in on the weekend when the weather allowed. Once the underlayment was on they waited about a week for the panels to get produced and delivered and then Hector's team was back out at my house daily for about two more weeks installing the roof. Higher level supervisors from the company like Christian, Martin and others were regularly in touch and visited several times to make sure that the quality of the installation was up to their standards. Since I don't really know much about roofs there were a couple times when I was worried about the way several details looked. Hector was consistently patient with my questions and every single time his explanation for how he was installing the panels matched or exceeded the manufacturer recommendations I found online. My roof is significantly more complicated than I appreciated at the start of the project, but by the end I was confident that each valley, pitch change, and vent was expertly flashed and sealed. There was a small amount of additional work that needed to be done around some siding on the house, and the quality and the cost of that work were both fair. Metal roofs are a craft, and the details matter for the roof's long-term performance. Once the roof installation was done I asked an expert roofer I know to come out and provide a consultation for me about the quality of Pfeifer's work. He doesn't think very highly of roofers in general, but he was quite literally floored by the multiple signals of extremely high quality work he saw on my roof. Hector and his crew are excellent at what they do, and the whole team at Pfeifer are professional. There is a reason that they have so few CCB complaints for such a long tenure as a company: you can trust Pfeifer to install your metal roof the right way.

As for the work: Jaffet carefully and thoroughly brush-cleaned our entire complex roof, did some minor patching, applied moss treatment, and cleaned our LeafGuard gutter apertures so thoroughly that one could eat off them, if that was one's thing. Complete cleanup. No damage at all to surrounding vegetation. It's as if he was never there, but the roof looks like new. Best recommendation I could give. Jaffet cares. It shows.
