I needed to have 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel Smog at a test only station. I asked my mechanic at Vaca Auto Care who should I go to and he suggested to see Dave at All American Smog Station (AA Smog) which I did and I had a little problem the first check and I had it taken care of and took it back it pass the Smog Check. Actually had to go in twice since my car failed the first time. Both times I went in, I was in and out within 15 minutes and the staff was super friendly. When it failed the first time, I paid the service fee (no certificate fee yet). The staff explained some of the options I had to fix the issue. The second time I came in, I showed him my paperwork from the first time and only had to pay for the certificate after. read more

First off i have to say this place or one working in particular IS OUT TO GET YOUR MONEY. I don't have the name of the employee but brief description he is a very large Russian man. I was getting my car smoged and I had noticed the check engine light was on. After the man took my keys and drove off I remembered I had heard it's a automatic fail if your check engine light is on. The man came back for my signature and I asked his which he replied yes it's a automatic fail. I of course was a little annoyed when I found out he notice my car had the check engine light on and was going to charge me to run it anyways knowing it would fail and I would waste my money. I don't know if this is how they run there business but I under any circumstance this is horrible I would not recommended taking your car here unless you like wasting money. read more

I had 2-3 smog shops in the vicinity of this place to choose from and chose this one because of the "Pass or Free Re-Test" sign. In my experience this is really important feature of a smog shop given that I always have pre-90's vehicles that I've owned. When I walked in the guy working there initially didn't see me, understandable as he had another car in the garage. When he walked in I told him what kind of car I had and stuff and he gave me a quote. Decent price and about average for my car. So I told him about what my car did 2 years ago when I had to smog. That it initially failed for high idle. That I took it to a STAR Certified Repair shop and that the shop didn't do anything but let the car run for about 10-15 minutes the idle came down, they tested it, and it passed. I let him know this so that he too could do the same with my car so I didn't fail right off the bat. He said that he couldn't let it run for 10-15 minutes to wait for the idle to come down and if he turned it on and the idle was high I would fail and that I needed to get the issue fixed. I told him the only issue is my car is old and needed to warm up before being smogged. He said to run it on the freeway and warm it up and come back. This was sound advice if I knew he could take my car in right away. But if my car sat for even a short period it would cool down enough to have the high idle again. Anyway I told him I'd figure it out or go somewhere else. read more
