Washing Machine stopped midstream and wouldn't drain or turn. So I went to Yelp and put in a repair quote for my appliance guy Pete who I've used several times with outstanding service. He immediately replied that he was closed because of Covid 19. But I also received an immediate response from Billy of Island Appliance who said Connie was in the office and to giver her a call to set up an Appt. So I did. Connie indeed was in the office at 9pm and said her technician was out on a call in Huntington. She contacted him and got back to me within 10 mins. He gave me the choice of coming by after he finished the Huntington job or tomorrow. In this crazy times of Covid 19 I was able to get immediate service. He or should I say they SHOWED UP AT 11:30pm?! YES that's exactly what I said!! 11:30pm! Appliance angels! He had the parts (Drain Pump & bearings) & fixed my washer promptly. Not sure but I think it was his son with him. He was teaching while fixing. Both were Very friendly. This truly meant the world to me because fortunately both me & my son are still working so we need to be able to wash our things in the short span of time that we are home. I finally was so aggravated that when I was on my way to my daughter's I went over there to pick up the item since it was there for months. The item disappeared, but Robin did give me another one. The principle is call. Now I had problems with another appliance and she took the piece I needed and said she would order it from the company. I told her I was in a rush due to the fact that I was with my daughter and baby granddaughter in the car and my daughter had to get home to feed her. She took the order and once again I never received a call if the piece I needed came in. I gave her a call to see if the piece ever came in. She nastily hung up on me accusing me of being nasty when I was in the store in which I was not. Robin does not return calls!! Robin lacks integrity and professionalism!! Two messages left went unanswered questioning parts and labor charges! A third call and he still was sort of invasive regarding parts and labor charges. Only after pressing him for info, it turns out he charged $145 for the 30 minutes of labor and $35 for the part. He insisted that $145 per hr is the going rate for labor! And his bill also neglected to say how long the part was warranted for. Nor did he get the customer signature acknowledging completion of work performed like all other business get! Nor did he mark the bill paid! Poor business model! Buyer beware!
