It was expensive bhut they gave me a ride back to my home and when the car was ready they6 picked me up to get my car at the facility...Wow. Surprised again.. I visited the AAA Auto Repair Center at 49 Bicentennial Circle in Sacramento, right next to the small claims courthouse. I was at the courthouse yesterday and found out that one of my brake lights was out. I don't know much about car repairs even something as small as replacing a brake light bulb, so I stopped by this AAA-operated repair shop for help. Hector and Michael were incredibly kind, professional, and patient. I explained that I'm not very familiar with the Sacramento area, even though I've lived here for over 13 years, because my life had mostly been a simple routine of work and home. They immediately helped me take care of the brake light, even though it was a small job, and treated me with respect and care. I have auto repair insurance and drive a used car, and based on this experience, I will absolutely return here for future service if anything comes up. They've earned a new customer. Thank you, AAA, and thank you to Hector and Michael for your professionalism and kindness. Our neighborhood truly needs service businesses like this. Keep up the great work! read more

Have you ever hated the vibe on the phone, but known you don't have another day off so you have to make sure that the appt works? That was my experience with this place. I called to see if they could do a smog that same day. They had open availability, my first indication this wouldn't be a good time. When I got there the man asked to see my AAA membership for a discount. I show him the number he takes my whole phone and then says "I'll give it to you this time, even though it's expired." I said, "but it's good until June", to which the man replied, "oh my bad I thought that said July." July is even further from now than June. And either way that says 2026 and my membership is valid. Don't try to make me feel like you're doing me a favor when you aren't, in fact you're not even doing the bare minimum which is putting my information in without bothering me. I was never showed any paperwork but asked to sign 3 times. And when my car was ready, he told me he was having issues wit the computer and asked if he could just type my card into the system. I said no, I'll just pay cash. He said debit or credit only, and I told him then he needs to have a working system. And then all of a sudden there is a computer that can be used to run my card the normal way. I don't know what kind of shady nonsense they are getting into at this AAA repair location, but I will be escalating due to my poor experience. I still don't even know what the discount for having AAA is on my service. He didn't feel the need to discuss anything despite only having one other customer come in while I was there. Decided to give AAA a try this time around so I took my car in last week to get an oil change with a multi-point inspection, which they said nothing was wrong with my car beside wiper blades needing to be changed after it was completed. A couple days later I noticed my ac wasn't blowing cold air (first time using it since last summer), I called and asked if they check that in the MPI, which they said they don't. So I decided to take my car into a different repair place to get checked out and they comeback and show me with pictures that my ac needs recharge but also that my cabin air filter needed to be replaced, my back brake pads needed to be replaced since they were at a 2/32, and my front lower control arm bushings were torn and coming out of the arms. Makes no sense how AAA missed these issues when doing an MPI. Really disappointed. read more

Dissatisfied with Repair Costs and Unnecessary Work. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TAKING YOUR CAR TO THIS AAA LOCATION! My daughter brought her car here last month because it started to over heat the night before. They determined that oil was backing up into the coolant and provided a list of work to be completed. While I initially authorized some repairs, I now realize I was charged an excessive amount for work and materials. Furthermore, I believe a significant portion of the work performed was unnecessary. Then after paying for those repairs we're told that the head gasket needs to be replaced and the estimated cost for that repair was a startling $5,200+. I then spoke with a professional mechanic about their work and he expressed serious concerns with the work we had already paid for. So I took her car to another shop for a 2nd opinion, which revealed that the extensive work quoted by AAA was not needed. The necessary repairs were completed at the other shop for just $340.  This experience was a significant overcharge and was based on what appears to be either a severe misdiagnosis or unnecessary work. I am highly considering filling a formal complaint with the California Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR) to discuss the details of this situation and the outcome of the second opinion. read more

I have an older pick-up truck. As I was returning to Sacramento from the Bay Area, it started making loud screeching noises while still on the 50 fwy. As I pulled of on the closest exit, it also appeared to be overheating. I an new to Sacramento so I decided to try the AAA Power Inn Center. They were very thorough, friendly and found the problems. Great experience! I used to have to go to rancho Cordova quality tune up to get my car worked on by people I initially trusted. Sadly, they really let me down with their customer service. But I am grateful I came across this AAA location that really gave the best and quickest service I have ever had by an auto repair business. The service and cost was clear from the beginning. I waited in their guest area which was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Everyone was super nice, especially Hector. Thank you to this location and their team for the great experience. Time to register my car and the notice said it was time for a smog check. I checked a local neighborhood station I had used prior. I was quoted $108. I'm glad I decided to check elsewhere. Phoned AAA Sac and was quoted $62. Made the appointment. I was greeted quickly and politely. The man went out and brought my car into the service line area. I sat and waited such a short time when my car was driven to the front. Passed with flying colors. The man at the register explained the process, paid, received the certificate, and out the door I went. This was the quickest smog service ever. The multi-check service was performed and the finding given to me. I will return and recommend this station for smog check service if required. read more

Brought my car in for an oil change and tire rotation a while back, after AAA took over this location. I made the appointment over the phone and specifically asked for oil change and tire rotation, got on the schedule, dropped it off, walked home. When they called and said they were done, I walked back over to pick the car up and turns out they hadn't rotated the tires, plus they didn't give even like a minimal inspection checklist, just here's your keys here's what you owe. OK, whatever, I was used to Kniesel's but it's a different owner they operate differently, I got my oil changed and didn't get charged for the stuff they didn't do so I figured I'd just have the tires rotated later. I was definitely annoyed and not planning to come back but not so annoyed that it was worth doing anything about it. Fast forward to today, car's been making an intermittent rattling noise, been meaning to take it in but these things get put off sometimes, I pop the hood to refill the washer fluid and check the refrigerant levels because it's one of those 108 degree days outside and lo and behold BOTH OF THE ENGINE AIR FILTER CLAMPS ARE DANGLING LOOSE. It's not a "whoops guess these popped off" kind of deal either, it's TWO SECONDS to clip them on and once they're on they are NOT coming off from vibration. Nobody has had that hood open since AAA and it sure wasn't like that before they got their hands on it. I was going to let the bare minimum work and bored attitude slide but incompetence is where I draw the line. read more

Negative stars if I could. Came in on Saturday to schedule an appointment for some minor work. Next opening was for Monday. I was hoping for a late afternoon appointment so as to take as little time off work as possible, but I knew the chances of that were probably slim. 2pm or later would have been ideal but 12pm was as late as it could get. That meant taking a half day off work for this, which was disappointing but what are you going to do... So I arrive noon Monday and some other person tells me "We have you down for 2pm". That's NOT what I was told. "Well there must have been a misunderstanding because nobody here books an appointment at noon". No, I did NOT "misunderstand" what was said to me, I did not "misunderstand" my disappointment at NOT being able to get an appointment 2pm or after. So I ended up taking twice as much time off work for nothing. I was done with them at that point - not going to have some place work on my car after I got into (excuse me, got FORCED into) an argument with someone there - to say nothing of being insulted like that. When I have to take time off work for something and lose money I'm VERY acutely aware of the timeframes that necessitate that! read more

First of all, long story short, took my truck here for a steering issue and they replaced the wrong parts and did not fix the issue. Also, Julio, is incompetent. Booked an appt thru him. Arrived at AAA and he informed me they could not do the work due to the heavy lift not being available. I booked the appt weeks out so I don't see how that happens. His people skill are also non existent. He is snippy when I was clarifying what he was asking me. He's a POS. read more

I took my car in for repairs on October 26th, 2021. I did not get my car back until November 30th, 2021. A little more than two months later, my car stopped working again. It wouldn't start and I noticed it was leaking oil. I took it into this shop at 8:30am on Friday February 11th and was told I should hear back in a couple of hours with the diagnosis. 1pm rolls around and I haven't heard back so I gave them a call. I was told they were looking at the car right now. When I asked if I should hear back by the end of the day, the man said absolutely I will give you a call by the end of the day. 5:30pm rolls around and no call. I call and leave a voicemail. Monday comes and I call back at 10am. I am informed they are currently looking at the car and they should know the diagnosis once the mechanic finishes up. I finally got a call back telling me the issue was fixed and I could get my car back. This was Monday February 14th Car was having issues again and I called on March 21st to have them fix it. Joe answered and said "I'll get to it when I can get to it." I take it into the shop thinking it was an issue with the oil again but they said it wasn't. They said they didn't know what was wrong with it even though I mentioned it was shaking a lot when stopped and the check engine light would come on periodically. They said there's nothing they could do since they didn't know what the problem was. During that last visit, I also overheard the manager on the phone saying "if he doesn't do this correctly this time I'm firing him" about the mechanic working on someone else's car. This was the third time I had to take it into their shop and not only was their customer service HORRIBLE but they didn't fix the issues that should have been corrected back in November. Their only redeeming quality was that they didn't charge me for any of the follow up visits (which I would have argued back if they tried to). Now, my car is still having shaking issues and the check engine light periodically comes on. If you are having car issues and are a AAA customer, DO NOT take it to this auto shop. read more

I always have great customer service from Joe, Hector, and Julio. I mainly come in for oil changes, but sometimes I ask them to check out other parts, especially if I'm going on a road trip. If they notice something, they take photos to show me so we can discuss before going forward. Most of the time I defer big maintenance until I have the money. They never pressure me to get it done right away. I leave with a list of recommended services so I can schedule correctly the next time. read more

I took my car in for an oil/lube service and tire rotation in August and got what I thought was good service. Very friendly guys in the front telling me the status of my car as I waited. I was told I would need a new battery, cabin filter and sway bar bushings replaced. They didn't have the air filter in stock or time for the battery and sway bars that day. I called to make an appt. for the service and got hung up on 3X without talking to a person. Went online to make an appt and uploaded their service recommendations and waited for a call to confirm the appt and NOTHING. The day before my online appt I still hadn't heard back and called and left a message. Still NEVER got a return phone call. It was $525 worth of service, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't want that business. Good thing I didn't go back there as I went to another service repair shop based on several friends recommendation (Arden Village) and they got me in within a week and when I dropped it off they said they will look at it before starting work and let me know as they didn't trust AAA recommendations. Well a few hours later Arden Village called and said my car is fine and didn't need sway bars replaced and not sure why they would say I did. I told the new place AAA even showed me pictures of my missing bushing and the other one cracked. Don't know whose car that was as mine are in great shape and not needing to be replaced at all. They also mentioned the old cabin filter AAA didn't even fit it in right and jammed the cap on and left screws off. The new cabin filter from Arden Village was also half the price of AAA. So luckily their lack of customer service and by not calling me back to schedule my service worked in my favor and saved me $250. I will not be coming back here even for an oil change. read more

PLEASE, PLEASE stay away from here. This place is shady and a rip off. They refused to give us a simple quote over the phone for brakes. The manager, Joe, said that we had to bring the car in so they could "inspect" it. Ok, so we did that. And they finally gave us a quote twice as expensive as other places and even more expensive than the dealership service center!! After we told them we didn't want to go through with the brake change, they told us we had to pay $80!!!! For a "brake inspection" that no one else charges for - even Lexus doesn't charge me to see if I need to change my brakes. I figured AAA would offer fair pricing and have decent customer service but I was wrong. Do not take your car here. read more

I have used this facility many times for many cars. Years ago they were AAA then Kneisel's now AAA again. I've used all three, most recently 5/23 for a coolant leak repair. This AAA facility has been best I have worked with so far. I know going in that they are not the cheapest place to go, however, they are convenient to me, I get a discount being an AAA member, their warranty is 2 yrs on repairs as opposed to the one year most places offer. This time I discovered a leak under my car. I've learned if I'm going to take my car in for a diagnosis/repair to do it early in the week to allow for time to diagnose, order and receive the part and fix it so I can get it back before the weekend. I made an appointment and took the car in at 10:30am. By 3pm Julio called to explain the problem and quote a price. That was Tuesday. He estimated the repair to be completed by Wednesday afternoon. On Wednesday Julio called again to say they discovered an additional part that needed to be replaced and gave me a new estimate, said they needed to order that part and the new ETA would be Thursday. The car was finished on Thursday and runs well. I have no complaints. Julio was professional, explained everything, showed us the defective part and was easy to work with. There was no upsell and I did not feel pressured to add services I didn't need. I will continue to take my cars there as long as this level of service continues. read more

I've been waiting 2 months to leave a 5-star review for AAA Sacramento Power Inn Auto Repair Center. There were multiple mechanical repairs that needed to be done on my car - such as my fuel tank being completely replaced, needing a new catalytic converter, and so much more (I just don't know the correct terms for everything else). Joe and his team could not have made this process any easier for me. We have been going back and forth since mid January as there were many hoops to jump through, and the entire time he has been a quick phone call away. The management here is great and these are the most responsive people I have ever worked with, especially for such a big service needing to be done. Without Joe and his team, I really would not have known what to do on my own. Not only did he answer any questions that I had regarding the mechanical damage, he also did his best to help me with everything insurance-related, which I don't even think is one of his job responsibilities! I could not recommend AAA Sacramento Power Inn Auto Repair Center enough and I will absolutely be taking my vehicle here for any future incidents. Thank you so so much! read more
