We know it's not the cheapest provider available, but they did a prompt and thorough job on the few occasions needed. The best part was making the process relatively painless. That counts for a lot. However, this mini review is not about past experiences. Since our coverage was recently up for renewal, I received a document in the mail outlining the features and costs. Such "advance notice" is a nice touch and gives me the chance to call them with questions before payment is due. So that's what I did. First call was made to the toll-free number which directs you to a central office. After going through a phone-tree of automated questions, I reached a guy who sounded as if he was at the end of a 24 hour shift. Tired is not the word. More like comatose. I had to help HIM with the answers! He did provide some information, but the "conversation" was heartbreaking. He either needs a better alarm clock or a slap in the face on the hour. Maybe a job as a zombie! Since I wasn't sure whether the information I got was true.....and not all questions were answered.....I called the local representative listed on the letter I received. This guy was at the other extreme. While I pictured the first person propped up against a bar after a bunch of stiff drinks saying "Mac, pour me one more", the second spoke so fast he swallowed half of his answers. Words were flying like bullets! I think I got some new information, but who can be sure? He was friendly, but reminded me of a kid with his first job just out of college who tried too hard. To him I'd say "breathe and slow down". So there you have it. One guy in the call center who needed a major supply of No-Doze and another guy in the CSAA office behind the Oakridge shopping center who overdosed on No-Doze. It was a whiplash of styles! With all the experienced, knowledgeable, skilled and talented people either underemployed or looking for a job, are these the 2 best communicators CSAA could find for critical positions in customer service? read more

I didn't know I had spoken to someone from this location when I called an 800 number. I don't like to pay anything over the phone or online, I like going into a business to pay in person. So when I got here one morning, they tracked down my phone price quote, so I was transferred back to a phone person. I was of course sitting at his desk and did everything in person, I was able to get full coverage at a cheaper price than I thought I'd get. I signed up for my full coverage insurance, the AAA roadside plus and of course the lovely trip downstairs to their DMV. Oh mah gawd... the quickest I've ever gotten my vehicle registration done ever. Like I said, I don't like online payments, the wait at the DMV on Alma would've drained me energy wise. Receptionist for both upstairs and downstairs, it was easy to ask any questions and got the answered so quickly. read more

Not sure why this place has only 3 stars. I came in to do some needed paperwork and Brenda was just fantastic. Not only did she save me a bunch of time, she made me feel valued as a AAA member. The office wasn't crowded, but everyone in there was busy helping a customer. I highly recommend becoming a member and taking advantage of the great perks of being a AAA member. Went to register my car and the guy that does the dmv paper work wrote down the wrong miles and now i have to take it to the dmv to get it checked and verified and wait over 3 months for the title. I've been to this AAA location a couple of times. I'm not going to talk about AAA's service as a company but just this branch location of AAA. I thought it was pretty good for obtaining maps and tour books for different states. If you come when they're closed, then you can use the map vending machines outside the main door. All you do is swipe your AAA membership card and pick a map you need. Remember to push the clear button (I think that's what it is) after you're done; otherwise, anybody else can grab maps using your AAA card membership. Good stuff! Very helpful. Detailed instructions on my registration problem was reviewed by 2 people to make sure I wasn't wasting my time going to DMV. Love that it's close to home. Parking is a little Challenging as they're doing construction and the only parking avail is BofA which is a no no according to the security guard. AAA has been nothing but a wonderful experience for me. For our housing and car insurance, Lyndon Harris, has been a great AAA agent for us. Whenever we have to add or remove, he's always responding and answering questions very quickly. I've also had to call AAA for towing as my car's battery had failed. I was given a time estimate of 10 minutes and the tow truck came on time. He was professional, friendly, and efficient. I also love the AAA membership magazines, they give me great ideas for places to go and explore! read more

AAA isn't what it used to be as helpful. My 94-year-old dad with a neck and back problem can't bend over. He call them because his Mazda pickup truck had a slow leak due to a nail in the tire the tire was not all the way flat but you could visibly see the nail in the tire and that it was losing air pressure. The AAA service showed up at my dads house and refused to change his tire stating that the tire was not actually flat and that he could change it himself or drive to a repair shop. My dad is also a care taker for his 94 year old wife with dementia but he's too proud to tell these details to the AAA service that showed up. read more

Manager Ray is always friendly, goes out of his way to talk & know his customers. And, amazingly, he always remembers my name, goes above & beyond to help my needs. I have used this AAA office on a few occasions for DMV services with no issue. To my misfortune, my branch agent Hosanna lacks customer service skills and does not express herself in a professional manner. When asking for specifics on my policy, she states one thing while the references she attaches says something else. On questioning to show the requirement and digging deeper, she gets frustrated, gives attitude and defers me to a supervisor (which I'm still waiting on). If you cannot articulate the requirements clearly, you shouldn't be in the insurance business! I don't know if she's an intern (emails written without punctuation, poor grammar, etc.), but she could use a little more training on all grounds! I have closed my AAA account for my Auto and Home insurance for this reason and moved on with another provider. read more

Very nice, cool office.The staff is friendly.Not crowded.Coffee,cold water.There is a big screen where you can watch the customers line. Fast service, don't remember the agent's name. I do not recommend this service or this place (branch) if you plan to go here. First, the agent whom I will not gaslight that has a "platinum and gold plaque decorated" was not friendly at all. Second, false advertisement. There is no such thing as a student discount, discount, etc. I was going to be a first time member here but oh boy the quote they gave me is outrageous. It was the same price as Allstate and progressive. In other words, it was a major rip off to pay $215 per month. Furthermore, my friend recommended me to this so called "AAA" but damn, my friend was wrong about this auto insurance. Thus, the environment was not friendly at all and it seems like they were miserable working there and try to get out asap instead of helping their customers. came in on a thursday afternoon for IDP (international drivers permit) and the clerk at the front desk took my picture and drivers license info. then got to work right away. No line at the cashiers desk and I was in and out about 15 mins tops. Tip: passport pictures are 7 dollars cheaper if you are a AAA member. Membership starts at 56 bucks annually. read more

I HATE AAA!!!!!! They left me waiting for them for 7 hours !!!!!!! They "kept sending help" but every time the driver was supposed to be at my location, they weren't!!! I literally was on the phone all day , being hung up on or being left on hold for almost an hour each time or the call would "just drop " after they were "supposed to" get in contact with the driver!!! Each time they promised I wasn't going to have another problem HAHA !!! They made me wait 7 fucking hours . One of their agents told me it wasn't smart of me to be on the phone while my phone was dying , like wtfff how else am I supposed to ask for help, when you people obviously refused to help !!!!!! Ughhhhh THEEEEEEEEE WORST SERVICE OF MY LIFE . I still don't know what happened. They kept promising me that I was at the top of their list . Everyone they'd hang up on me I had to recall , trying to connect with a REAL person , the agent telling me the driver is close, then telling me they contacted them .... FULL OF SHIT. We were stuck in a HOT day about 90 , no shade or water . That is so damn ridiculous. Oh did I forget to mention? I'm a gold member !!!! The roadside assistance call in number is very problematic. I have had multiple problems with the insurance agent office and with how roadside assistance calls have been handled by AAA agents. I've complained and they seem to just want to make excuses for what they problems and inconveniences they cause their customers, instead of do what is necessary to make sure that this pattern of bad customer service doesn't continue! AAA has lost the confidence from it's customers and now we are looking elsewhere to see who can provide the best options for quality and guarantee of services. I hope AAA will stop making excuses for their lack of good customer service. read more

AAA would not help a member sell his vehicle because buyer was not an AAA member. AAA was only concerned with making the buyer an member. Very sad disappointed. Money before serving its members. The lady at the payment counter was very rude and disrespectful . Plus unprofessional. Her name is Susan. I asked her if the system was running well or not -- because 2 days ago all systems were down. She frowned at me and said, " I don't know, I just came back after 2 months." Then I told her that I would like to make a payment and asked her to make sure there are 2 cars in my policy, because last time AAA messed up my account. She was so furious at me. In addition, she raised her voice to tell me my cars were all covered. The way she looked at me was very rude. I came here to pay my cars' insurance not to ask her for attitude. Another bad, recent customer service experience. Sigh. Today I just wanted to pick up a form that I believed was required by the DMV as part of selling my car. Turned out, it is not. I was lectured about that from Mary who apparently has decided she is the customer and I am the annoyance that needs a large dose of condescension into order to be properly put in my place. Pros: The building hasn't moved in a while. DMV forms are available. Wait time was short. Cons: Employees at the DMV are more pleasant. AAA is a paid service and while towing might be worth it, the "service center" isn't. My suggestion is to look for any other competing service (like through your insurance company) or just take your chances at the DMV. That is what I'll be doing after 15 years of membership. read more

So I pay for AAA so that some guy who barely speaks English can come and tell me, "hey if you had key we could open car." (I locked my keys in my car, that's my dumb ass fault) No fucking shit. So then he goes on to say my car is hard to open because it has no energy. I respond I'll feed it a nutrigrain bar when you unlock it. He goes on to say "it hard to open your car without damaging it. If you want me open still." I ask if he is just going to use a brick. So him and his dispatchers suggest getting me a lock smith that I have to pay for. And then they say "it'd be easier to get in the car if you had a key." Fuck you AAA. read more

Update: Went to DMV and had everything sorted out. And guess what? The specialized license plate form was not even needed! In and out of DMV within 20 minutes with no hassle, unlike the incompetent AAA employee who gave me the incorrect info. From this point forward, I would rather go directly to the DMV to have my business tendered. read more

Had to use AAA again this week for my Camry. Same problem as before, but starter had been replaced. My mechanic didn't get it right, so the car wouldn't start...again. AAA dispatches Motor Body and I received excellent, prompt and courteous service from both. Thanks AAA and Motor Body. read more

I have been a faithful non-interrupted member of AAA since 1950. I presently have 2 cars listed with AAA. Every car I've ever owned has been registered with AAA. My 4Runner & Avalon batteries are AAA batteries. 8-10 months ago the Avalon had battery problems. It could have been charged again but because I'm old & can't go to a recharging station, the technician was nice enough to give me a new battery. The same thing has happened to my 4Runner. The battery is about 1/2 way through its life but this time the technician wouldn't give me another battery unless I paid full price for the battery. He basically told me to go somewhere to get it charged, nothing else can be done. I can''T just take the car somewhere anymore to wait to get it charged, it'stoo strenuous. I'm VERY DISAPPOINTED & DISSATISFIED WITH AAA Road service. I've always been treated with respect & AAA always bends over backwards to satisfy their customers; not this time. I'm giving AAA a very low Yelp rating & I may look into other road towing services. As a long time & long standing AAA customer of 60-70 years, I'm very disappointed. Joel Sherr read more

AAA is worth it just for the DMV services. Typically the only time I visit a AAA office will be for a DMV-related task. On this occasion it was to renew my tags and I was in/out in probably less than 30 mins. There was a small line but it nothing when compared to the hours that it would of taken at the DMV office. THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS NOW! Previously they only accept cash/check for DMV services but they now take credit/debit. Nice to see this when I came in. Gotta be grateful for the small wins. =) read more
