Everyone here in the SteelCreek shop are fabulous. Had oil changed and a rattle in the back end of my vehicle fixed. When I brought it in, we did not know what the problem was. They put it up in the air, explored and found the problem. While here an elderly woman came in with her car and said it was leaking fluids. They put her car on the lift, explored and found it was her AC unit. They did not charge her but did assure her that her car was safe and it was normal. Will come back and will recommend. read more

Worst roadside service ever! This is the second time we have needed roadside assistance. Both times we have called the number on our membership card Tonight, our car broke down on a dark road during a massive thunderstorm. After more than 20 minutes on hold we finally gave up and instead called a friend to help us. It is obvious that this company wants your membership dollars but does not have the capability to service their clients. I can not recommend this service/ company to anyone. read more

I regularly bring my car here for service, whether it is a regular oil change or to fix a problem. The staff is always courteous and the work done on my car is top-notch. I've even been able to bring it as soon as they open (7:30) and have it back to me, job completed by the time I need to leave for work at 8:30. No complaints at all! read more

I have not had a good experience with this location. I have used the AAA car care center in Matthews before and had a wonderful experience. My car was towed to the Steele creek location this time and ended up needing a new transmission. We decided not to repair and was waiting from the state on the title paperwork so I could sell it. According to AAA they called me in this time but I have no calls or voicemails from their number. They had my car towed to be stored without me knowing. I had to pay $400 to get my car back and on top of it my license plate was stolen at the car car center. I have no problem with my car not being able to stay but if I was contacted I would have had it towed to my home for free. I spent an entire day trying to track down my car and having to pay for the storage fee and then another day trying to track down my plate once it was discovered missing. Terrible communication from this car care center that ended up wasting my money. read more

The work they did was fine and the customer service was excellent, even giving me a ride all the way to Fort Mill High School to pickup my truck. I have mixed reviews....the customer service experienced was awesome, I got my car back really fast, however I picked my car up on Thursday cost of repairs was $1900+ drive my car over the weekend even on the highway only to have to take it back for a issue that they didn't catch and me driving the car I'm sure made it worse which cost me another $500+ now I've had it back for a week and I am hearing a totally different noise I'm almost scared to take it back to the same location for fear that it's going to cost me more money mind you the car was not making this noise prior to either visit so I'm not so happy with my repairs.. read more

I'm back at AAA Steele Creek after visiting ealier this week for an A/C repair. After spending over $500 and having the vehicle released to me on 9/6/17 , I'm back at.this location on 9/9/17 because the A/C is not cooling as it should. Im being told that i may have to bring it back yet again because the A/C expert isnt in today. I've given this location my business for the past 2 years or so. I like AAA as a roadside service and for the other services they provide but I can't say that I've had good service in fixing my vehicles. Earlier this year they released a vehicle to me that they had serviced. I had to bring the vehicle back that same day after it was running rough. The service tech had neglected to reconnect a critical item on the vehicle. NOT GOOD!! read more

Terrible customer service. I made an appointment for a simple oil change in hopes of shortening my wait time. It took more than 2 hours to get an oil change. I watched while my car sat in the bay for over an hour before anyone got started on it. That was ridiculous. read more

Took my car in over the weekend to have brakes replaced. Immediately, they began pushing an oil change and tire rotation on me when checking in. I told them I had only brought enough money with me to cover the expense for the brakes. 5 minutes later they tried to push a AAA membership on me after finding out that my membership had expired. Again, I reminded them that I only came with money in hand for brakes. After inspecting my car to determine if it was the front or rear that needed replacing, they came back to tell me that I needed a tire rotation, balance, and alignment. Having recently replace all 4 tires, I knew there was no way I needed to be balanced and aligned, not to mention my car drives smoothly and is showing no signs. After, I declined. I noticed that everyone else who was waiting for a simple job...oil change, brakes, light bulb replacement, etc. were being told their tires were also out of alignment. When checking out I told the guy that my tires were probably due for rotating as I do drive a lot for work, and would take my car back to where I had purchased my tires since I get lifetime rotation for free. Immediately upon finding out that I had recently purchased tires, my car suddenly didn't need the extra services..."I don't know why the mechanic said you needed this." Ahhhh, you've been busted and now you're going to blame it on the mechanic. Later that evening, after they closed, I realized the service rep failed to return my car registration to the place he removed it from or to me! I called them the next day they were open and have yet to hear back from them if they have found it or not. Now, I am out the cost of getting a duplicate registration. I've used other AAA locations for regular maintenance in the past because the great thing about AAA is that their costs (when using their coupons) are lower than other places, and have been very satisfied. In fact, the other locations I've been to were never this pushy. However, I would rather pay more than to have a pushy salesman try to con me into services I don't need and lose my registration. I'll never be returning to this location ever again. read more

These unethical con men tried to sell me $500 worth of unnecessary work. Luckily I am a mechanic for a living and I do not pay anyone to work on my cars unless absolutely necessary. I knew they were lying when they tried to say that my wheel would fall off if I didn't let them put on a new wheel bearing and hub. News flash! The wheel bearing doesn't hold the wheel on, the axle nut does, and it is brand new. Furthermore, the bearing would make noise long before it fails which allows plenty of warning time to have it replaced. They copped a very condescending attitude when I balked at their BS recommendations and the work they did do on my car was sloppy at best. Their bosses boss, Seth Smith, decided to "stand by his efficient team" when I brought this matter to his attention so I have submitted a three page detailed report to AAA corporate. If you know nothing about cars you can plan on being ripped off. Unfortunately, studies have proven that this is the case no matter where you go if you are a woman but that AAA car care is pulling the same cons as your run of the mill auto mechanic huckster is shocking. My recommendation? Bring a mechanic with you? read more

I'm someone who is normally a DIYer when it comes to basic auto maintenance and repair. I don't have the tools or skill to do anything advanced though, and lately I don't have the time. So, gritting my teeth and ready for an argument, I took my car to AAA for an inspection. I suspected I needed some troubleshooting on my O2 sensor as I had an intermittent CEL coming on that pointed to the sensor being the problem. From the moment I walked in and to the desk I felt at ease. Mostly this is thanks to the Service Consultant, Jim. He spoke very highly of the credentials of their master tech and of the new technicians they have recently hired. The service from beginning to end was fantastic. Everyone was great in handling my needs including the porter that took me home and picked me up while I waited for my car. When I heard Jim's praise of the mechanic that would be looking at my car I also asked him to look at several other problems I had begun experiencing. Not only did he identify the problem with the O2 sensor he also found the source of some transmission noises I asked them to look at as well. What really impressed me was not the service to this point but that there was absolutely no pressure to spend any money, or have anything done that I didn't want or need at the time. Also, when it was time to pay, my cost for the troubleshooting and service I had done was actually LESS than the estimate. This almost never happens. In talking with Jim about my concern coming to his shop for service based on some mixed reviews, he informed me that there have been some recent changes in staff within the last few months and polite/quality customer service is definitely their top priority. Now, I will still do whatever work I can on my car, if it's inside my skill set, but if I don't have the time or tools to do the job right, these are definitely the guys I'm taking my cars to. read more

This was my first time visiting the AAA location. I bought a Ford Escape Hybrid from my dad earlier this year and took it for a change of oil. I was happy with the service and the diagnosis that they gave me on the car. Not pushy, just informative. I will go back to get repairs done in the new year and see what happens. read more

I had a bad experience at this location, shop repairmen could fix my car but told me that he could, I just wanted a front end alinment , but now I have to take my car to the dealer to be fixed, also the attendant told me that I should have taken my car to whoever work on it before, I am a member, and this is America I can go wherever I want to go, but my friends, and I, will not be bringing our cars here for service that is for shore, get it together because you're losing business, thanks for nothing. read more

They were really nice and friendly. My car stranded my 5yr old with special needs and I Saturday evening and AAA towed it here. They contacted me shortly after opening today (Monday), confirmed it was just the battery and I could pick it up today. When I got there, my dash was lit up like Christmas so I went back in and had them look at it again. They had to reset something and I was off. Driving up I-77 I heard this strange noise I assumed was road noise; it continued. By the time I got off the interstate I knew I couldn't take it home, it sounded horrible. I took it straight to a reputable shop closer to home. It turns out it was the alternator after all (which was my original suspicion). Three days, two shops, four (not cheap) uber rides, one new battery, one rescheduled appointment for my daughter later (due to no car) and a few hours of missed work, I should have my car back tomorrow afternoon. They were really nice & friendly. But they do need to be careful about parking cars without accessible parking tags/plaquards in their disabled parking spots. There was a jeep without proper permit parked in one the entire time I was there (I called the police on this same scenario elsewhere last week) and when my car was returned to me it was parked in the other (my tag was not in the car because my daughter was not with me). read more
