Requested an engine oil, oil filter, and air filter change for a 2015 Avalon. I was charged $250 for this service which is flat out highway robbery. An e gone air filter charge for $70 while the one installed on the car costs $26 from the same Autozone this place used for the part. .30 hours of labor to pop 2 clips and open the air filter housing that only took me 2 minutes? Beware of Mavis Tire and in Lake Wylie. 6 months ago my son bought 4 new tires from them and had them installed on his vehicle. Over the summer he had a flat and it turned out to be the valve stem was dry rotted and needed to be replaced. Why wasn't it replaced when the tires were installed, you ask? Because they "only replace them if they need to be replaced". He drove to his college and on the way back for Thanksgiving, he got another flat. Another valve stem needed to be replaced. I made them replace them all as they should have been when the new tires were installed 6 months ago. Over the weekend we noticed that he was missing 2 lug nuts; one on a front wheel and one on a rear wheel. I had him go back again this morning and they told him that the lug threads were stripped. So, back in November, they stripped 2 lugs, knew they did it, they didn't fix the issue when it happened and let this kid drive off with missing lug nuts. Today, they replaced the stripped lugs, AND CHARGED HIM $30.00 TO FIX THEIR MISTAKE! If you go there, beware and double check whatever work they did or be smart and avoid them altogether. read more

After working with Mark Vaughn (Regional Manager) and Mary Beth with the Mavis in Ft Mill SC, I was able to get my seat control cover replaced and attached back to my seat. Went for a service on June 19, 2025 went for a AC fix on my car. The associate at the front desk advise me when first walking in, that the service would range from $150-$250 depending on the issue Which I said was fine. I asked if they would let me know before they would fix anything and the first desk associate reassured me that they would come out and let me know what was going on before they had to do any further assistance to be clear with the price point of the service. I waited approximately an hour and a half in the lobby no one ever came out to tell me what was going on with the vehicle so as I overhear the mechanic in the front desk and the front desk associate speaking, I approached the desk asking did they know what was going with the AC UNIT? The front desk associate along with the mechanic who serviced my vehicle said yes they knew what the problem was and they went ahead and fixed it now I need to pay $250. I stood there for a minute looking puzzled because no one had ever came back out to tell me what the issue was with the car or how much the service was going to be in total before servicing the vehicle as we had discussed. However, multiple Mavis mechanics and associates came to the lobby to speak with other guest who were there before or after me to let them know what was going on with their vehicle, however no one ever came to let me know what further assistance was going to be needed. In the future, I hope the Mavis team will provide clear communication with all customers to let them know what is going on with their vehicle prior to servicing a vehicle. Giving the customer a chance to give a go ahead or seek other options before hand. I really hope me being a woman does not play a factor into why they felt that they could just do whatever without communicating things first. The Service was completed on the vehicle. The issue is that no one communicated clearly. With ample opportunity to do so. read more

My husband took my car to the store in Lake Wylie for an oil change. Today I received a notice that I need a tire rotation. Also, the light for my windshield washer has been on since before the oil change. I MISS MY NTB! Whenever we went for an oil change, they checked and filled all the liquids and rotated my tires FOR FREE. I am SO disappointed in the service received there. I used to get value for my dollar, especially since an oil change is SO expensive these days. I guess they don't really want my business. I guess I'll be looking for a new service provider. read more

Initially took the vehicle in for a flat repair, and charged $30. The tire still leaked and I took back in. After taking the vehicle back on the third trip for leaking tire, was told there were actually two nails in the tire and the reason for the continuous leak. Given the tire was dismounted three separate times, disappointing this wasn't found on an earlier visit. Then on the third time I was told I should buy a new tire rather than have two plugs, which I understand from a safety aspect. The disappointing part was the three new scratches on the black painted wheels. When I called and talked to the shop after realizing the damage about twenty minutes later, James didn't seem all that concerned with my complaint. The vehicle only has 11k miles and I know these weren't there previously, and they're not curb rash but machining type marks. In addition to the damage, the repeated visits also detracted from the overall experience. Given all of this I probably would not recommend NTB/Mavis in the future As an update, I reached out to NTB as requested via their contact form and got exactly ZERO response back. Added confirmation to NOT recommend NTB/Mavis in the future. read more

After finding a screw in my tire at 5:30, I drove to NTB in lake wylie at 5:45 and the assistant manager made sure to fit me in and get tire fixed quickly. (Had went to another store who told me that didn't have time to mess with it this evening) He did not even charge me as he was said he was more concern with my safety than money for a plug. This location is involved in price gouging. The front desk sales representatives are rude and disrespectful. The manager TY is arrogant and rude. I inquired if he got a phone call from another location. He responded "don't matter, I don't answer my phone anyway." The labor sign states $149, I was told it would be $165 if I came from another store. Overheard Ty, speaking to another customer, rolling his eyes and shrugging his shoulders "they quoted you wrong, this what it is. You can get it done or leave." This manger needs to be replaced and the customer service training for sales representatives. read more

Called for a screw in my tire at 9am and they were able to get me in by 11. I was out the door in under 45 mins with it repaired. From the woman who took my call in the morning to the woman at the front desk to the guy that did the work, all were extremely nice. Clean waiting area as well! read more

Went to have u-joints put on my truck and they bent a piece of my driveshaft in the process and when they told me it was fixed I drove it and sounded like it was about to fall apart and shook violently. Quite literally one of the slowest staffs i've ever seen. Had two appointments in the span of 3 days and arrived early to both only for my car to not get worked on until a hour later. Also the employees seem to like to gather around cars and listen to music instead of working on cars. Avoid this place if you want quality support but if you want lazy workers it's your place read more
