Oil Change Special advertised at $79.88 for Synthetic Oil filter and tire rotation. When I went to book on line, was told this offer was not available at this location. When I called this location I was told they would honor this offer only if I brought my car immediately. Said offer would otherwise expire. We were staying in Home2 Suites when I had an issue with the trailer I was towing. So I called Goodyear on Piper Station and a mechanic walked next door to the hotel. I had a frustrating experience at this Goodyear location. They originally told me it would take one hour to complete my inspection and tire rotation, but it ended up taking two and a half hours while I waited. Even worse, my vehicle failed the inspection due to my window tint, which passed at a different chain store last year. Afterward, I went to two other shops (one a chain, the other a family business) that both verified my tint was within regulation and passed it for my registration renewal. When I pointed out that I had proof it passed last year with the same tint, the staff became defensive and outright refused any kind of refund (which I hadn't even requested). Their reaction was unprofessional and only added to the disappointment of the visit. On top of that, they seemed intent on up charging for unnecessary services. Someone at the front desk claimed I needed a $2,200 tire replacement--oddly high for standard tire service and especially strange since, as a 3rd time BMW owner. I left the store with a thank you despite everything. The blonde dude with a cap and leather boots at the front desk literally ignored it. I'm familiar with tire pricing. Overall, I found the staff to be arrogant and lacking knowledge about cars, giving the impression they might fail inspections to try to sell additional services. They setup a 10:30am appointment and said it will take an hour for a state inspection. We dropped the car at 10:30am exactly. Came back at 12:30pm. They didn't even bother looking at the car. The manager the guy with dark glasses and cap told me they are going to look at it now. So if I don't go back they would have never looked at it. I said what happened you said it will be done in an hour, and if you can't do it in 5 minutes I can't stay around and miss my 1pm appointment. He said no inspection takes 5 minutes and i told him then I am leaving. He smiled and said thanks for coming by, no apologies for wasting our time and not delivering on promised time. Great routine service, but.. if you have tire work being done - Don't let them push you into buying new tires, I went to Goodyear just to have a slow leak fixed from screw and the desk consultant proceeded to walk me around my vehicle which is brand new, calling out another plug on back tire saying that the plug was illegal. I said no it's not because you are the one that plugged it so if it's illegal you need to fix that. Then they pushed that my tires were at the "wear bar" indicators, used the old won't pass inspection tactic, tried to push 4 new tires. I said no, I just want to fix problem with screw in tire. Said I would get a second opinion at my dealer. Was very pushy! And sure enough today got my oil changed at my dealer and I asked about the tires they said, they rotated them, they look fine, probably have another 30,000 left on them! So moral of the story is don't let them push sales tactics on you with new tires! read more

I recently scheduled an appointment online, for an oil change and NC inspection. Drop off time was 10am, pickup at 1pm. I arrived back a little early at 12:45pm to find my car exactly where I left it. Went inside to inquire about how the car was coming along and was told it was the next car to go in. 15 minutes from my scheduled pickup time. Be cautious- they give you old tire sitting on shelf for years. I replaced all my 4 tires here in 2021 April. Paid for $607-still keep my receipt. Three months later someone reminded me to check the production date on my tire. The average life of tire is only 6 years. Expired tires could blew up during driving even though it's 'never used but sit on shelf for years'. So here's the production date of my new tire- 2018, half of usage time already passed. I would never go there again. Go to sam's club and they give you free tire rotation too. (Btw good year wants to charge me $150 for tire rotation each time) Ps. I own a 2016 Honda Fit, not a Benz. This is what happened in a nutshell: my car started smoking while driving in the area. Since I was scared, I took it to the closest place (being here.) I am a young woman and I guess they assumed they could take advantage of me because of this. They called me later and told me I had a leaking valve cover gasket and quoted me "$600 and that's not even including the parts, just labor." I asked them why it would be so much and they could not give me a straight answer. He just kept saying the oil was everywhere and getting the valve cover off is a lot of labor. (Guess what? It's not. It's very simple. I know this because I grew up helping my dad work on cars.) I told them I'd rather get my car towed elsewhere. HERE'S THE KICKER GUYS. After taking it to my regular mechanic (Leo's Auto Care)- the only place I will EVER take my car now, apparently my car doesn't even HAVE AN OIL LEAK. That's right. There wasn't an oil leak to begin with, no issue with any valve covers. Goodyear had outright lied to me. It turns out, it was just my power steering leaking and it was a quick fix. I am absolutely disgusted by the complete disrespect for people, the deceit, and the apparent complacency for such behavior. If you guys are going to dream up car issues to make a buck off people, you should be out of business. Absolutely disgusting. Shame on you, Goodyear. Someone pulled into my lane on 85N and I had to pull to the shoulder to avoid being hit and got a flat tire. I was traveling to Charlotte for the weekend and got to Charlotte on my spare. The tire could not be patched and I could not find another one until Monday and needed to be back in Georgia for the start of school Monday. The spare was only guaranteed for 70 miles. I was in a pickle. Goodyear took the time to find a tire in their inventory that would meet my needs at a reasonable price. Goodyear Auto Service Center 2321 - Old Statesville Road, Charlotte I had a slow leak in my tire. I went to 4 different places that gave me all sorts of explanations and remedies, but none solved my problem. Because I was tired of having to put air in my tire, I decided to just purchase new ones. I made an appointment at the Goodyear Tire Center and was ready to make my purchase. The technician started work...then came out to ask the service manager 'Are you sure we are supposed to be changing these tires?'. I explained by situation; he then went back, took his time, and found a very small puncture. He repaired the tire which meant that instead of paying hundreds of dollars, I only paid $25. Because of the effort and interest they took, I will be going back when I really do need new tires and will recommend them to everyone! read more

These guys are greedy and looking to charge money on the smallest pretext. I went for an oil change to the Goodyear location on 5100 Piper Station Drive. They added $4.75 for "Office Supplies" in the oil change bill which is ridiculous. Nobody charges for "office supplies" with an oil change ! Also, I asked them to check my steering wheel that they had "fixed" last time and already charged $500 plus taxes. They demanded $62.99 for "diagnostics" even though they did not fix the original issue. Please avoid them if you can !! read more

Extremely friendly employees, good at tires and oil changes. My car was leaking power steering fluid so I took it in for a look and they gave me a $900 estimate to replace multiple parts. Took it to another mechanic who fixed the problem in 20 minutes by tightening one line. This Goodyear also told me I needed a new oil pan that would ring in at $425. This place is a ripoff on so many levels. These folks are super duper nice but they will fleece you time after time if you let them. My story: I have a check engine light on that really needs to be looked at. I do my own research and bring with me the error code from the system via Autozone. Goodyear Piper Station does smoke test, checks and the light came off. They say it was an issue with the gas cap seal. Order another seal and have to wait 2 hrs for it to be delivered. They say after replacing gas cap that it will be no issue now. Problem is this gas cap actually does fit my car properly! I end up going to dealership for factory one. Mind you, I already pay for the one at Goodyear. So I pay for cap, labor and Goodyear's smoke test! Two weeks later, same issue with check engine light. I come back, they tell me they will know more with a smoke test. Imagine my surprise! What??? Um, didn't we already do this two weeks ago? The response was "not sure who you spoke to but there are like so many of us but you never had a smoke test done. You need to have one before we can say for certain." I was so tired and my emissions test was on the heels of that date so, I had another smoke test done. No time to argue! They now say something about the line that goes from the gas tank to the engine...a pin size hole. But they aren't too sure. They recommend a $290 fix!! They tell me this will fix it for certain if I do this. I remind them about the gas cap "certain fix"! They tell me that "not sure who told you..." Whatever dudes!! I decline the ridiculous "certain fix" because of obvious reasons. They charge me for the smoke test and labor. Next day, I go back to Atlanta. I head to the same franchise in Stockbridge...they fix it without issue. Goodyear in Atlanta mechanics say it is an issue with the light itself. Smh... Go to a different garage and get it done!! Hell, go to Atlanta's Stockbridge location!! And yes I told the mgr at Piper Station but he shrugged and smiled like a salesman! Bottom line: Piper Station location hires a bunch of young men who are more about smiling and surface-fixing then being knowledgeable. read more

Had the worst experience ever at this place. Called ahead and asked for a price to get my front and rear brake pads changed. They quoted me a price and I dropped off my car an hour later. Sure enough, 2 hours later I get "the call" telling me that the car will be ready in a few hours - but the price they quoted me THEN was double what it was when I called just a few hours back. According to them the price they quoted me first was "just for the front" - even though I specifically told them I needed front and rear. So, typical bait and switch, never going back to that place. Also, similar to the previous reviewer, a friend of mine bought new tires there and in his case they forgot to tighten all lug nuts which he found out a few days later. I'm extremely disappointed in Goodyear. As a franchise, you'd think they'd want to do what they can to take care of people and be a reliable company. I came in with a cylinder 2 misfire, was charged almost $1000 for it to be "fixed", just for my check engine light to come back on within 20 miles. Went back the next day to tell them, they ran another diagnostic just to tell me "everything was fine" and they "didn't see anything wrong". THEY CHRAGED ME FOR THIS DIAGNOSTIC TEST!!! I left, and again within 20 miles my check engine light came back on. I went to Advanced this morning to have my check engine light read (for free) and saw 7 notifications for a cylinder misfire. I took pictures, brought my car back to Goodyear, showed them. They took it back in, and again told me they didn't see anything wrong going on and swore my car wasn't misfiring. If my car isn't misfiring, why is it running bad and why is the check engine light coming back on. Ultimately I was told TO TRY GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!!!! Why did I spend $1000 for you to just tell me to go somewhere else???? Don't go here. Please don't go here. They robbed me. I missed 3 days of work, lost $1000, and now have an unreliable car. However, as far as mechanical work, run! Ironically they are not cheaper than a dealership for oil changes and most repairs. They went to bat for me with goodyear, got a pretty substantial credit. Could have easily tagged me for another new (second) tire but didn't. They even called dealer, made inquiry re wear parameters and said, "you don't need it." Similarly, had them change out pads and rotors on back. They were honest and said, "you still have about 25% left on front," so again didn't take advantage of situation. Dropped car off later in pm Saturday and they called first thing Sunday, done! Took my vehicle over after work for a simple fix (my passenger side window fell off the track and into my car door). They fit me in without hesitation and served me efficiently. After sliding my window out of the car door, they taped the window to ensure it'd stay up and give no more problems. They went above and beyond for my simple fix and didn't charge me. This has to be one of the most efficient places I've ever had tires changed --perhaps too quick :) I called ahead to see if they had the tires I needed in stock and they said they did. I dropped off the car, and ~30 minutes later I received a call letting me know the car was done. I picked up the car and wend on my merry way. Once I drove off the lot I noticed an odd loud noise. The sound was loud enough to cause concern; therefor I returned it back to the store. They immediately took the car in, and noticed that one of the wheels hadn't been balanced. They completed the job within a few minutes and I was on my way --again. With the exception of the unbalanced wheel, the overall experience was very good. It was a very clean location with polite staff. I will return in the future if I need more tires replaced. read more

I've always been pleased with this Goodyear for oil changes and basic maintenance. They are always extremely nice and courteous to work with. The service is typically fast, unless they're extremely busy that day, and they do their best to get you on your way quickly. If you're planning to stick around while they work on your car, there is a decent waiting room with plenty of seats, magazines and a TV. (Hopefully you like the smell of new tires, which can be a little overwhelming in the small building!) If you can't stand to sit and wait but don't have someone dropping you off, they are conveniently located across the street from Stonecrest shopping center. So you can grab a bite to eat or some coffee while they work on your car. Compared to other auto centers in the Ballantyne area, Goodyear is reasonably priced for a good experience. Like all auto service centers you won't leave without being encouraged to purchase further services and spend more money on your car, but if you tell them no thanks they won't push it.
