Mark was super kind. My car broke down and my phone broke in the same weekend. Not only did he go out of his way to take me to the cellphone shop, but also made sure that I made it back safely. He offered to fill my dad in on what was going on with my car and to inspect any new car that I purchased. He was very upfront and honest as well, which is obviously awesome. He also didn't rush me to figure out what to do with my car (which is awesome because I was in quite the predicament). Overall, highly recommend. They definitely care about people. read more

January 2026....A botched brake job, a condensending manager, Mark. I will NEVER return to The Shop @160 and will NEVER refer anyone to this shop!!! I was put off 3 weeks to correct the brake job perormed by this shop. When finally completed, I asked questions, just to be informed, as to what went wrong, what type pads and rotors were used. Apparently, Mark took my questions offensively and became agitated, rude, and threatening. This man is arrogant, domineering, cocky, demeaning, degrading and on and on. No woman should ever be talked to in the manner he talked/screamed at me. Please read other reviews that mention this type of behavior and be cautious and leary of bringing your vehicle to this shop for repairs. read more

Mark the manager- Arrogant unprofessional deceptive behavior. NEVER GO BACK! I have been a long time and one of the first customers at shop at 160. After years of being a loyal customer my recent ongoing issues and concerns with the payments made for the incomplete mechanical repairs are now entering the legal system. I cannot provide details at this time but will say this. I discovered that a double payment was made to shop at 160.One by my personal check and the other by a subcontractor paid from my insurance claim. After investigating Mark became belligerent, defensive and deceptive when questioned about this double payment. He was characterized as a " Rude Bully "by the office manager of the subcontractor investigating their payment for the same bill I had paid. To no ones knowledge Mark deposited both payments for THE SAME service then denied he had cashed my check for this service. After telling me he did not cash my check I confirmed through my bank that he did cash my check in August 24. When I presented him the bank documents He became agitated and got angry then responded by saying he had NOTHING TO DO WITH IT??? I was shocked when his reactions and responses became increasingly agitated, angry and unprofessional when questioned about misleading me. It got to the point that on his last conversation with me to resolve this Mark began shouting, cursing and threatening me to the point of using a profanity laden screaming tirade about never wanting to here anymore about the check, talk with me again, continued to cuss me out and hung up on me. Based on his ongoing refusal to take responsibility for cashing my check and lying about it my insurance company is currently investigating the potential of insurance fraud by Mark as the manager of SHOP at 160. I never saw this coming, but Mark has turned into someone that can no longer be trusted by anyone using services at shop at 160. read more

We were concerned about my car after taking it on a long trip for the holiday and as soon as we returned, I decided to check out shops in the area. After seeing this one was really close by and had great reviews, I decided to call Monday morning to see if I could drop off my car. I dropped my car off around lunch time on Monday and had a call with the diagnosis and price that afternoon. I gave the go ahead to repair and was told it would be completed on Tuesday. Late afternoon on Tuesday, I had not heard from the shop, so I called to check in and was told they were still working on it, but they still had it planned to be finished by end of day. Sure enough, the called right at end of day saying it was on it's final test drive and ready to go. So I went straight to the shop and picked it up. I went on a trip this weekend and it drove so smoothly! Problem has been fixed and I appreciate the great work they did with the repairs. As far as pricing - the price was unexpected as these repairs came up unexpectedly, but they were still very reasonable with what was being repaired! I appreciate that they even applied a coupon for me that I did not know about. Every bit helps! I would highly recommend this place as they were friendly, quick to repair, knowledgeable on the repairs, and priced right for the area on the repairs. read more

I can't say enough Great Things about this business. I have had major work done there on my 2004 Cadillac to the tune of $3000 plus. They are top notch. Today Mar 5,2019, I took it in because I was losing coolant. I had a loose clamp on that needed tightening and that was it. It was fixed and no extra's or sales pitch for other things. Integrity is the word for this. They are honest, thorough and they stand by their work with a 12 month 12,000 mile warranty. Mark and his crew are the best I have ever experienced any where. I have taken 3 different vehicles here. Mark (owner or Manager) is a knowledgeable and trustworthy fellow. He always calls before any work is done and their prices are reasonable. They are timely and they even gave me a lift to work one time. I have had the following repairs done: Air Conditioning work Replaced brake calipers and brakes Tune up Oil change Check engine light diagnostic Hi folks, Just want to say that I had to take my car in again. I'd have to say that my 23 years that I have lived in South Charlotte and in Fort Mill, the Shop @160 has been by far the best auto repair shop I have ever dealt with. First comment is that their customer service is top notch, they get the work done , quick, they call you with the estimate, they call you when its done and they are just an honest bunch of guys. Every time they call me and they are telling me what is wrong with the car, I always have a price in my head that I expect to be a fair price, the price that they quote, strangely is always lower! On many occasions I will drop off the car for (for example) brakes and an oil change and they will do the oil change for free! (or something similar) I have 4 cars and I have used the shop @ 160 at least a dozen times and never a bad experience, Sadly I am moving to Alabama and have to leave them behind. As a single woman with minimal mechanical knowledge, I'm generally at the mercy of mechanics. I thus cannot say enough about the honesty and integrity of the folks at The Shop @ 160. This past week alone was one of many instances where they sealed my loyalty for life. I'd gone to my dealer for a recall and, not surprisingly, they tried to talk me into two additional procedures: 1) replace my key fob battery and 2) replace the terminals on my engine's battery. I took both to The Shop two days later and they told me: 1) I could get a new key fob battery replaced for free at Advance Auto down the road (with the purchase of the battery) and 2) my engine battery was simply showing normal corrosion which they found after checking and cleaning it at no charge. Wow! Pleasantly surprised! My 9 month along pregnant daughter's air conditioning went out in her car mid-July. The baby could be here any minute. My daughter has appointments daily and I have a full time job that I can't leave to run her around everywhere. Her friend flew here to help with that, so he didn't have a car either. Furthermore, who wants to put a newborn in a car without air when the heat index is over 100? This was a stressful situation for my daughter and I. I looked at all the reviews on here and decided on the shop at 160. They got me in right away, told me upfront the cost to diagnose it, and how long that would take. This really helped my me with planning purposes. We already knew it wasn't a simple Freon fix. Then they called a short while later to tell me the car's compressor was bad, (which we anticipated) how much it would cost, and possible worse case scenario if the fan also needed replaced. They let me know they would have it done by the next day. Turned out the fan did not need replaced. The price was very fair, and they actually finished the car ahead of schedule. We had it back that day with ice cold air and knew they did not take advantage of us or our somewhat desperate situation. Now we can relax and wait for the baby. Thank you shop at 160!!! I was on my way to work before the sun came up and my alternator died. The headlights started going dim and the engine was sputtering. I turned around and headed back to this shop. As I pulled my truck into their lot, it shut off before I could get into a parking space. It was 7:20 a.m. and they weren't open yet. There was someone inside. I explained my situation to him and he said they didn't open until 8 but checked me in anyway. Called me at 9 and said my truck was ready. The repair cost was very reasonable. Best service ever!!! I've been to a number of shops and mechanics in the Charlotte area and this is by far the best. Their customer service is excellent and even offered to give me a ride home after I dropped off the truck. The cost was fair and they had the work done within a few hours. I had planned to write this review when my car had it's 60k mile service, so a few months have passed. I was in search of finding a shop that was not going to charge me the dealership automotive maintenance prices and read reviews for The Shop @ 160. I made my appointment and headed there on a miserable pouring rain day. I got lost and Mark was so patient in explaining where they were located. When I arrived, he had the door open ready for me to run in. I had a coupon for the service I received and was extremely pleased with the pricing. While checking the brakes, Mark called to let me know I needed new brakes. Not unusual given the mileage. Pricing was comparible and acceptable. I am recommending The Shop at 160 after my most recent experience. I took my vehicle to Steve Moore Chevy first after my car overheated. They told me I had a blown head gasket and quoted me $1,900 to fix it. I called The Shop at 160 and they quoted me $900, so we took it there instead. They did a diagnostic test to be sure before they started and found that it was not a head gasket issue, but it was a fuse box issue (fans were not coming on). My total bill was around $600, which saved me a significant amount of money. I really appreciate their honesty and great prices. BEWARE! The guy at the front desk will act nice at first, give you a good deal on your car, then try to rip you off. PLEASE listen to me, they will overcharge you for your parts and labor. My family and I moved to the Fort Mill area July 2012. We left behind a relationship with a fantastic auto repair shop. Last month, our Jeep needed repair and was anxious to find a reputable and trust-worthy auto repair shop locally. We found The Shop @ 160, and we are very happy we did. They were fantastic. They did what they said they would do. Called with a diagnosis of the problem and an estimate to repair. Their explanation was honest and straightforward. I tried writing a review regarding the shop @160 in Fort Mill (directly behind Sonic) about my experience awhile ago on a different app., but they had it removed. So it's interesting that they have a four star and ONLY keep the good ones or have others post fake reviews. So my story is they tried ripping me off when I brought my car in telling me that I had a cracked cylinder and called me when the part came in trying to charge me a crazy amount of money and then to say it was no guarantee that the cracked cylinder was the issue and would need to try something else. So, in the meantime after i made the appointment with them i decided to get other opinions with other shops. Interesting that the next shop I went to showed me under the car and NO cracked cylinder as they clearly claimed!! Mind you that the shop at 160 I saw the manager Mark talking with the tech. as they were concocting a bogus story. In other words they clearly didn't know what was wrong with my car, so they proceeded to LIE and rip me off and make up something. My cylinder was in perfect shape and believe they were not ordering anything and were going to say they changed it. Had I not gone to another shop to where the tech showed me that my cylinder was perfect and almost new, I would have paid a lot of money for nothing. They are the best examples of auto places deceiving women and taking advantage of them. I was smart to get other opinions. Just livid that they took an opportunity to be so dishonest. Once again, when it did occur I wrote a review on their website but the immediately removed it and never apologized. This was my first and last visit there.
