Over the past 5 years, I have come to this location for several oil changes, tire repairs, and have purchased a total of 7 tires and had few to no issues. I recently had a flat tire replaced, after which my TPMS was throwing error signals. I dropped in shortly after and was asked to drop off my car at some point for it to be looked at closer. I dropped off my car around 9 a.m. last Saturday. By 3 p.m. I had not heard anything back, so I called and was told they were only just then getting around to looking at my car. I can empathize with being short-staffed, but if it is going to prevent my car from being looked at all day, then I should have been asked to bring it by on a different day. I informed the person on the phone that I needed my car back by the end of the day, as I would need it Monday morning. When I stopped in before closing, I was informed that my TPMS had been recalibrated. I was also informed that they could not find my contact information (the VIN had not been entered correctly). I was told by the person who worked on my car if the error came back to bring the car back to be looked at again. However, the error continued to appear on my drive home. The following Wednesday, I dropped my car off around 9:30 a.m. to hopefully have the issue resolved. As with before, I did not receive any call from the shop. I called around 3 p.m. and asked for an update. I was again told that they were short-staffed and was also told that my car had been forgotten about and that they would look at it then. I went to the shop after my work around 5 p.m. and requested an update. I was then told that my car still had not been looked at by anyone. I expressed my frustration and was told by the individual I was speaking with that they would look at my car momentarily. I sat in the lobby for the next 45 minutes with a clear view of my car as not a single soul approached it. When I looked, the individual I spoke with was nowhere to be found. So I spoke with a tech on the oil change side and asked him to grab my keys, which he did, and then expressed his apologies. I do not have plans to return for any type of service here any time soon despite otherwise positive interactions in previous years. Again, I understand staffing concerns, but as someone who had an issue arise immediately after a tire change, then to have my vehicle blatantly ignored over the course of additional drop-offs and an utter lack of communication is wholly unprofessional. read more

I've been coming here for about 5 years now and the customer service is just always great! I have basic car knowledge as in I know when the oil light or tire pressure comes on I need to take it to someone or ask my dad what I need to do (haha) The guys have always been helpful, if they notice additional services need to be done they will offer but don't pressure you into getting them. I am always able to ask questions and feel good about the answers I'm getting! I used to really like this place, but the management is severely lacking. Employees are always milling about, but no one seems to actually be working! Everyone is sitting on a bucket on their cell phone! 10 minute oil changes do not happen here anymore. And I bought tires two weeks ago when they discovered that mine needed to be replaced. I thought that went well until my brand new tires were leaking air the very next day! Brought it back for service and ended up waiting over 2 hours even though I was told it would take 45 minutes! This place is a mess now. And manager Rick seems to be just as bad as the rest of his staff. What a shame this location has gone downhill so badly! read more

I went here to get my state inspection complete in my car. I pulled up someone greeted me and got my information on what I needed done. This was my first time at this location and getting an inspection on my vehicle so I didn't know what to expect. I asked if I need to make an appointment they said no they accept walk ins. They asked if I was going to leave or stay with the car. I stayed the sitting area had about 8 chairs in the area, it wasn't that big. They had a few chairs outside as well. There are some stores across the street from the place if you didn't want to stay there. It took the mechanics about 45 min to do the inspection. They were pleasant and I was in and out without a problem. read more

I've been taking my car here for about a year now and I've never had any issues. The oil changes are a reasonable price for the convenience of not having to get out of your car. IF YOU'RE A LADY BE SURE TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF LADIES DAY DISCOUNT ON TUESDAYS! I usually only get oil changes here and I don't have to worry about them pestering me about other things that need to be fixed. I'm in and out in about 20 mins so I usually go on my lunch eat my lunch in the car them have time to spare after. I recently took my car here for state inspection and it takes about 30-45 minutes. I love fast service bc I hate having to wait on my car to be serviced. As long as they are not busy the service is really fast. I always get knots in my stomach coming to car mechanics usually because I feel like they look at and seem they can get one over on me until I open my mouth and they realize that I know a bit more about cars than they think. Honestly this was not the case for Express Oil change and I really do like thier customer service. I've taken my girlfriends car here one time because it needed air in the tires really bad and I mean it seriously only had 5 lbs of air in it. The rain was coming down really bad and I took her car here to get air in it. Needless to say the guys put air in all the tires and didn't expect anything from us. Well just a week later the tire was all flat again and this was the first place we came to get the tire looked at. I'm so glad we came here because they found a nail in that tire and showed us not only did we need to patch and 1 tire but the car really needed an alignment and another tire on the car was seriously so bad we probably were about to have a blowout anytime. The guys there really do care about thier customers and aren't trying to pressure you into more work than required. Prices are fair not exactly the cheapest but not really over the top. As far as just general maintenance for your vehicle I would recommend this place for sure. read more

After trying a handful of quick-change garages in the Charlotte area, I think I have found the spot to go to from here forward. From the guy who came out to my car before I'd even pulled in completely, to the technician that had me go with him for the drive to road test the tire balance and rotation, I think these folks do a really solid job. No more steering wheel vibration! Waiting in the customer waiting room (there's a TV and free wi-fi), another customer had some major stuff going on with her car. They did what they could to prioritize the work so that the important stuff she could afford got done. She seemed pleased as well. $59 for a full oil change with balancing and rotating the tires seems pretty reasonable to me. I'll be back. If you are having more serious work done that requires a wait, there is a Dunkin Donuts and a Taco Bell within a stone's throw. Other restaurants nearby too. read more

Final verdict they can't replace my tires because I didn't purchase my tires from them . But this place definetly was not a 10 minute express oil change, if you are paying for a quote on quote "10 minute oil change" thats's pretty much what you expect. First of all i waited in the line outside in my car for over 30 minutes which was a bit much. Then when i finally got to the front to get serviced they started on my car which i was there for well over 30 minutes he explained to me that he had broken some piece on my car that he had to replace and that's why it took so long. I've been going to Express Oil Change on S. Tryon for at least two years now and I can't believe i'm just now getting around to giving them the Yelp props they deserve! Just this morning I stopped by in need of quite a bit of work (Oil Change, Front End Alignment, New Brake Pads, and a state inspection.) My original plan was to get their first thing in the morning at 8am when they opened, drop off my car, and come back after lunch to pick it up. However, after I told the technician what I was needing and he said it would only take about an hour and a half I was happy to sit in the lobby and catch up on emails from my phone while I waited. 90 minutes flew by and I was out the door with everything that I needed at a very reasonable cost especially considering the convenience. I have in the past had a couple of times where the wait was a bit longer than I expected, but those were during busy times and it was never by a ridiculous amount. read more

Currently sitting here again with the same issue I had about a year ago. In a pinch so I came here. It's interesting, I never have any issues with my car until I come here. The first time I chalked it up as shit happens. Now I'm sitting here with the same thing they did last time. Messed up the drain plug. I took it to a friend that is a mechanic who did the oil change before I came here and went back to him when my car wasn't acting right. He confirmed it was the drain plug. I wish these people paid a little more attention to what they were doing instead of rushing cars in and out. I had a new kid working on my car. I do not blame him at all. Decided to get my oil changed on Saturday around 3:30pm. There was no line and I found myself greeted by two nice gentlemen in regards to getting my oil changed in my Cadillac. None of the technicians consistently wore face masks. When I asked the tech who was going to help me to pull his mask up before I opened my window, simply because he was going to be in my face, he became irate and extremely rude and combative. He can choose to make himself sick by not taking proper precautions but I will not allow anyone to infect me potentially because of their idiotic ways. If you don't want to catch COVID-19 from these irresponsible techs, my suggestion is to spend your money somewhere else and avoid this place at all costs. They don't care about your well being at all or theirs apparently. read more

Had the day off, needed an oil change. Didn't have time to take my Jetta to the VW dealership and sit for 3 hours. Needed additional service for the car, but was desperate for at least the oil change. I've brought my wife and sons Honda CVRs up here and the service is always 5 stars and it continue today with my car. Greeted outside and got right in. Only issue, they didn't have an oil filter but they called and Auto Zone showed up with one 10 minutes later. Service was GREAT and no pressure to have any other service done. They make recommendations with no pressure and will tell you when the particular service needs to be done or even tell you it is something that the dealership needs to handle. This location has always done a great job with the service and work. Plan to continue to bring the cars here for the basic services and continue to support this crew. Awesome Job! Today I needed a oil change before heading to Columbia. I called the 10 minute oil change and of course they were able to take me immediately! Thought I had to wait for about 20 minutes until it was my turn it took about 15minutes for them to change my oil. The gentleman that was assisting me {Christian} was very helpful and informative with the updates that I needed for my car. He even provided me with pricing on how I can take care of the areas. Great over all service and I was highly pleased for my first experience with the 10 minute oil change. The prices are much higher than my normal $25.00 at NTB but you're paying for convenience and speedy service unlike NTB who was completely booked today. read more

This place is awful. It's like a factory with no organization. Cars piled everywhere. I brought my car a month ago for an inspection and asked if there are any problems with my window tint. Some places will pass me others may not but I'd like to know ahead. The tech, Christian, tells me it's fine no problem. In middle of the inspection I ask him everything is ok, he says yes. After about 45 minutes, he's done and fails me. He says the window tint is too dark. I'm like what l, you told me it's fine. He states he can tell me that till after the inspection. So I paid almost 30 dollars for nothing. The tech never apologizes and had a smug look on his face. I tried giving this place a second chance after they caused serious damage to my wife's car when they did not place an oil screw correctly and caused over a thousand dollars in damage to her vehicle. I needed to get my tires checked prior to making a 4hr drive back to Atl, which the mechanic knew. I told the mechanic the tires need to be aligned. I waited an hour until I grew curious about the work being done. My car was sitting unattended while cars that arrived after me were being worked on. I kindly asked one of the mechanics if the vehicle was serviced already, but it wasn't!!! It wasn't until I asked for them to remember. After waiting an hour, the mechanic tells me the alignment is fine and probably need to be balanced. I told the mechanic my vehicle has a special lug nut and I have the proper screw for it. While telling him, I informed him that I was reaching in the glove compartment to hand it to him, and asked that he places it back when he's finished. Altogether the process took two hours, and a week later, I realize the special lug nut screw is not where it belongs; he forgot to put it back!! Again, I live out of town and very disappointed with this location, for I frequent the same company based in Atlanta. Now I have to go out of my way to get the custom piece in order to get my tires worked on. Extremely disappointed!! read more

This place is called Express Oil Change and has a side business called "Same Day Mechanical." I had my pick up in for coolant leak. They said lower intake manifold gasket cause. Book time to repair 3.6hours. Should be done in 1/2 to one full day. I agreed. It took them 5 (five) full working days to repair. YES "FIVE" days. Should have know what to expect. Took 1/2 day for diagnosis. Told would be done next day. Day 2-not done. Excuse: only one mechanic on duty. No other A-techs. Day 3-not done: Top of engine in pieces. Mechanic says "I used to work for GM dealer." "I want to 'focus' on getting this done." "I'm gonna stay late tonight and finish." "Will be done by noon tomorrow." Day 4-not done: Top of engine STILL in pieces. Mechanic says "It will be done shortly". SHIT AC compressor was not even in place. No F****in way it could have been done. Day 5. Go in. 2 other A-techs working on it. Mechanic who said he needed, and wanted to, focus on it was not there. It was his day off. Was not done. They finished up after hours. Truck working fine now. Runs well. Price OK. Big jobs like this never cheap. So, if you want just a quickie oil change. Good luck. If you have a more complicated mechanical issue they can get it done, but NOT in a reasonable, timely manner. Oh yea, on way out a lady brought in her FIAT to get an oil change. 5 A-techs stood around in trying to figure out how to get oil filter removed....... (5 big guys standing around this lil car looking at each other. Hilarious.) . . Be careful my friends . read more
