AAA charges $56+ for the membership, a very poor value for the roadside assistance which most of people use it for. The competitors charge about 10 times less for the same thing, but people have been hypnotized to believe that AAA is the best, it will take care of them and it's worth it! Perhaps, at one time they did, but now it is an urban legend. I called AAA for what I thought was a very minor easy issue and it was till they got on the scene! I went over a wheel stop on a parking lot and only a small corner piece of the engine shield next to the right wheel was bent, about 3 inches, it was catching on the wheel stop when I tried to back up. At that point it certainly did not require a replacement of the whole shield and could be easily fixed by jacking up that side and bending it back. If the "helper" was too lazy to bend it back he could have simply rolled the car off the jack. I would be fine with either! However, because Ellison's driver, Manuel Meza did not listen to what I said and failed to notice the problem when he looked under he forced my car over the wheel stop damaging the entire shield which is about 3.5 feet long where it was way beyond repair and had to be replaced. To make matters worse not only he did not even acknowledged his oversight he said: "well, you just have to replace it, it was damaged anyway!" He was so clueless, he even asked for a good review! The damage he caused was just under $264... Thanks for helping!!! I contacted AAA and they told me to file a complaint which I did and was told that "we investigated ourselves and found nothing wrong" and "no, you can't dispute it, case closed." I replied to their customer service survey with a complaint, no answer, I contacted membership customer service, same thing and guess what, my email sent to the executive in charge of the membership did not get a reply either! Same dead end with their provider, Ellison towing, but at least the latter did reply to say they are not going to do anything, AAA is too busy even for that! Mind I say that the auto club wants to brand itself on "being absolutely famous for doing the right thing." By whose standard ignoring the customer who was wronged is doing the right thing? I am a VERY dissatisfied AAA customer!!!! I got a flat tire on the freeway yesterday.  (I think it was from something on the road.)  The tire was damaged too badly to be reinflated, so I called AAA to get the car towed home.  They said it would be about 45 minutes.  But 45 mins later, still nothing, so I called them. They still didn't know when a tow truck would be there. Another 45 mins later, still nothing. I called them back again, but they claimed it was a busy afternoon.  They also said they were having trouble finding a flatbed tow truck.  (My Jag can't be towed with the old kind of truck.) More than 3 hours later, they told me that they would not be able to help me.   I had to call a commercial/independant tow service (that only took 15 mins to get there). AAA said I could apply for reinstatement, and I "might' get some of the cost back. NOTE: I am a AAA Gold Member. That made no difference. read more

It has been a horrible experience, I been here for almost 3 hours and it seems like only one person is helping with insurance. They are at least 10 people waiting in the lobby. It's been 3 hours and finally my name is next on the board but guess what? The agent just got up and went to lunch. Seriously!! So now I have to wait another 30 min to 60min for her to come back from lunch and probably another 30 min while she helps me out. This office refused to renew my 82 year old mothers tags and get her disabled plates today. Here's a " gold standard" service story. Both of our names are on her truck. We went in to get her tags and disabled plates. Because the placard was in my name we were told we would have to pay $50 more to add my name to complete this simple transaction. What kind of service is that? Why has she paid so much for so many years to be refused service? So good job refusing a senior and her disabled daughter trying to help her! read more

Absolutely Awful~! Went in at 9 am when they opened. I was told it was a 30 minute wait. Next they announce the whole computer system with DMV is down. It would be at least several hours. I left and returned later in the afternoon to find it was a two hour wait. I have been a AAA member for maps and DMV services for 25 + years. I am coverage for my whole family. I am now considering dropping my membership. The new location in Concord is lacking! Why they moved across the street to a busy shopping center is crazy! It would be faster going to DMV than AAA. I have had the AAA service for a long time (over 25 years now). With the exception of getting DMV tabs, not sure it is worth my time anymore. Wondering if some other company offers that same service. You would think with the Headquarters located here that all their new offices would have state of the art equipment. Nope...they still can't take any customized Visa photos here, and the lady at the front desk was so overtly rude when I asked about it, that I likely won't go to this location ever again. Extremely disappointed in AAA. We received a notice that our homeowners insurance has been canceled. We contacted our agent to discuss this. Our agent is Cyndi out of Concord office. Cyndi spoke with us but has never followed up or given us guidance on the reason why we were canceled or help. My husband has been with AAA since he was 16 years old and he is now 65. We bundled our homeowners and our auto insurance. We will no longer have anything to do with this organization AAA. Their customer service is extremely disappointing and their style of communication is in need of improvement. If you currently have AAA for Auto or homeowners insurance I recommend you start looking for a new company. Went in to get a quote for insurance. The agent was very nice and helpful. I ended up signing up. She also set me up in line to find out how much I owe to take care of my past due registration. Once I got to the counter the DMV system went down unfortunately. The manager and rep offered to call me and let me know the info I needed over the Phone when the system came up. I honestly didn't expect to hear from them but the rep called me at 530 and gave me the info I needed. Excellent customer service! And every employee I encountered in the place was a delight. :-). read more

They do not listen to your needs, they are very unaccommodating and will give you a different answer based on the person you talk to. Its a complete waste of time and money. When you call Sheila for car insurance she seems very helpful and gives you great customer service. However the story changes if you get an accident. On Labor Day someone sideswiped my parked car In a residential area in Walnut Creek. I have had a complete nightmare experience with my claim. AAA does not want to get my car fixed properly. The front fender got bent and my bumper and my door and wheel got bent on my car. AAA will not put on a new wheel, they want to send my wheel out and have it resurfaced. Which the wheel is bent and Im pretty sure that that's really unsafe to try to fix a broken wheel and then put it back on somebody's car. When I refused to let them do that to my car, I couldn't get a hold of a manager to I find out this status of my claim and it took 9 days to get a manager on the phone. When I finally got a manager on the phone he pretty much told Me To Bad I can either pay for it myself or I can get the resurfaced wheel he was Rude. I even called Sheila myself and asked to talk to her manager and they never called me back! So do not sign up your car insurance here. You'll be sorry if you do. I wanted 2 compare auto rates with my current company and at the time they offering $10.00 gift card from Target that AAA would send me 4 coming in 4 a quote, that was around Dec. 2019, it would B sent via e-mail. They NEVER sent it. In December, I had my window smashed and two work bags taken out of my car. It was virtually impossible to get help from AAA. Because my insurance claims agent went on vacation over the holidays, my claim was never approved. The claims adjuster had the audacity to call the repair shop and demand to know what was going on and why isn't my claim closed yet. The body shop said they were waiting on an approval from AAA so they could start. She said "oh ok, it's approved." My body shop submitted the estimate Dec. 21 and it wasn't approved until Jan. 2 and when she called me to say it was finally approved, I asked, "so you're the reason I haven't had my car for two weeks?" She kind of chuckled and goes Yep! I said so there was no one else in AAA that could have just approved it and all snarky she said NOPE! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I called her boss who is the manager over claims who is in Colorado and he was just as rude as the adjuster was. To add insult to injury, the parts needed to fix my car are now BACK ORDERED so I will be out of my car for an ENTIRE MONTH. Break in was Dec 18 and I am supposed to get my car back, at the earliest... Jan 19. I have had to make innumerable calls to AAA for this and everyone has been rude and unhelpful. I have had them for 28 years and after this, I am looking at alternate insurance. I pay $3000 just for car insurance, not to mention my home owners with them. ***FUCK YOU AAA, FUCK YOU*** While others might have a more positive experience than mine, my experience with them was beyond ridiculous and if I could give them a negative star, it would have been -5 stars. First of all, your client rear ended my truck. He was driving a car that was last registered in the year 2000 and had "brake failure" causing him to rear end me going at least 25 mph. I get a phone call from them assuming liability and would take care of the repairs. I take my truck to Integrity Auto Collision Center and they gave me an estimate of $4700. I called them and told them my estimate and right away, they gave me some bullshit story and tried to get me to have it done in their recommended shop. I told them no and would like to have it repaired there. Then Zach tells me how they won't guarantee the work if it's done there. That was okay because Integrity told me they guaranteed the work for lifetime I own the truck. Then comes this piece of shit, AAA adjuster named Tonya Sorvic. She goes over my truck and tells me that they're not going to repair this and not going to repair that. At the end, she gives me an estimate of just over $1650. This dumbass doesn't know what the fuck she is doing nor is she properly trained to give an estimate. I asked her why there was a difference of $3000 in the estimate? The POS tells me that they're not going to repair more than what is expected. No phone calls from AAA about anything until Integrity Auto tells me that I got a rental waiting and to drop off my truck. I take my truck to have repaired and Tonya denies the amount but instead up'd her estimate to over $1800. The shop had to send blue prints to justify the repairs and still Tonya refused to take care of it. Tonya tells them "that sometimes the other driver has to come out of pocket". That was bullshit. Their insurer rear ends me and they want me to pay for the difference. It came to the point where I got court paperwork and was going to take them to court for the difference plus for taking time off from my work. After 3 weeks of haggling over the repairs, the shop spoke with Tonya's supervisor and went line by line about the repairs. Finally, I got my truck back. While my experience with AAA and that piece of shit Tonya Sorvic was beyond negative, I will never recommend anyone be insured by them and don't be bullied into accepting a lower estimate to have your car repaired. Hopefully, I will never have to deal with AAA or Tonya again. They can go to fuckin HELL! read more

I've always had no problems doing business with AAA Insurance the employees there are always very helpful and very professional the only problem that I'm having when going to the office is this homeless man that hangs out around the building I feel bad for him because of his situation but sometimes it's a little intimidating and scary to go inside when he's right outside the door sometimes he's even allowed to go inside which is even more uncomfortable . I'm really looking forward to going to the new location that AAA is moving to shortly. I needed to renew my registration and there was a glitch in the dmv system, so I had to wait on hold for 3 hours (two different calls) to be told I had to go in. Three days in a row I got there right when they gave out their final ticket (around 2:00pm) and could not get in. I finally drove to a further DMV, waited in line, and then was yelled at by a rude staff member who did not give me a chance to explain the issue and sent me away with the wrong answer. Two more hours on hold with DMVs finance department and my first savior actually looks into it and says everything is fine and to go in and pay. Since they would not previously take my payment, she suggested AAA. They reminded me what customer service is and how I should feel going into a business. All of the staff were friendly. The woman helping me was able to see the issue right away and get it paid. I will go to them from now on. read more

As probably many would say, if I could give zero stars if I could. Every time I call for insurance questions, claims, or roadside assistance, there is about 30 minutes of transfers from one person to the next, none of which can help you but of course insist that they never do anything wrong and its somehow your fault. The answer is consistently "this can't be done" and the customer service is horrific. I have always had AAA insurance and never thought to shop elsewhere, but very little research demonstrates the prices are not even remotely competitive to their competitors. I have left every custmer interaction asking to file a bad customer service complaint, which I do, but of course nothing gets addressed. I just canceled my insurance with them today. There is no reason to ever pay for substandard service when multiple better options exist. read more

Today I visited the Concord AAA office in The Veranda with the idea of having my signature notarized on a routine document. The AAA reception person politely advised me they had two notaries, one of whom was out sick, and then asked another staff member to seek out the second notary. Eventually, quite a while later, I was told that the second notary was busy providing DMV services. Would I mind waiting for an unspecified length of time? Recognizing that notary services were not likely anytime soon at this overwhelmed AAA office, I found another notary in Concord. Everything about this location was nice and convenient. At first there seemed to be allot of people there. But after checking in and sitting down I saw that everyone was being taken care of in a timely fashion. My insurance agent was Michael Jordan, this guy was sooo helpful. He explained everything and helped me make sense of the policies and what worked best for me. Overall this placed had me leaving with a smile and extra change in my pocket. This is my insurance company after I switched over from a different company. AAAs rates were actually better than what I was paying so it was a no brainer to switch over. I actually decided to up my coverage to include comprehensive. I haven't needed to use my insurance yet so I don't really have anything to say about how it is when you get in an accident. I do like the extra perks although I haven't used those either, but my friend used the towing for his car once and it was a good experience. The tow truck came in like 30 minutes and he was back home in about another 30. I would recommend AAA to anyone who needs insurance. read more

Be aware, I called for a tow truck. The company McHughs towed my car and when I went the step out of the truck, I fell. I hurt my hand, back and neck. Per AAA they are not responsible. I would think that AAA is a subcontractor for McHughs. I also called the tow company. They just never called me back. I am sure that because AAA is so large and they are outrcontact that we would be treated a humans. That some one would be concerned that a customer is injured. I think AAA has gotten to big. The have lost contact with the people and only think about numbers. read more

AAA lost me payment or posed to another account. It took them a month to notify me. I am without roadside coverage and they are unwilling to locate my payment quickly. I have spent more than 5 hours dealing with them on the phone , at the bank , and in person. They do not accept emails or faxes with proof of payment. you must go to the office which I did and it will still take days to reinstate my insurance. There is no reimbursement or lengthening of annual billing to compensate for paying on time and still having no courage for a month. I will find another company to do business with. read more

I have their premiere membership. They advertise that they provide locksmith services for home or auto. However - when I got locked out of home they dispatched a locksmith and then called back to report that they don't do that anymore and canceled the dispatch! And stated I needed to find my own and pay up front for the whole things. Do yourself a favor - don't get AAA. They lie. read more

I went in to ask about Disney ticket discounts. First of all the whole set up is odd. You walk in and just sit and wait for someone to come help you. After about 20 min I got up and left. It was just a question. Why isn't anyone available to answer a simple question without me having to wait indefinitely for a travel agent? My AAA membership card reads that I've been a member for more than ten years. Sometimes I think that means I must have been out of my mind. My latest experience was eight days ago. My car was stuck in the snow half a mile from my rural home. I made it home fine, then made one of the biggest mistakes of the year: called AAA to get the car home. They supposedly check out their providers, but they certainly hadn't checked out this one. They sent "Allstar" towing (or whatever - it was an oversized pickup and they evidently don't have a tow truck) from Jamestown, 40 miles away. With my car only lightly stuck in snow at the edge of the road, these people managed to break the steering column so that the lever is loose and doesn't engage with anything, then left the key on and drained the new battery I'd bought only 7 weeks before, so that it froze before I noticed it. "Allstar" acknowledged at first that it was their fault and promised to come on Monday and repair it. They didn't come Monday, didn't come Tuesday - and late Tuesday I called AAA to see what was going on. AAA informed me that Allstar now denied doing any damage (they didn't suggest how I'd gotten the car half a mile from home when it couldn't be driven), but said my car would be towed (not counted as a service call) by Friday and repaired at no cost to me. It turned out to be a runaround. I finally heard from the service manager, who informed me of the process I need to follow - which is simply impossible to follow with a car that does not run. The FIRST step is to have it evaluated by at least two mechanics. Besides being impossible to get the car to garages, taking the steering column apart to "evaluate" it takes almost as long and costs as much as repairing it, so that means to have it "repaired" twice?? Her last advice, to go to small claims court, is always a fancy way of saying "jump in the lake." She made it clear that AAA is in no way responsible for the actions of its providers. My steering column is broken, my battery dead, my car won't run, I live five miles from town in a Dakota winter, and I am on my own. I would not advise ANYONE to subscribe to AAA. They contract with incompetent and dishonest providers and do not stand behind the work in any way. If one of these incompetents decides to wreck your car and lie about it, you are on your own. Avoid them. read more

I recently went to AAA at the Vernada and had a marvelous experience. I was greeted at the door and told the approximate wait time prior to signing in.
