This shop is absolutely wonderful! I've been in there several times and the service advisors are always helpful. I have talked to Tanner a few times for small things with my car. Yesterday I had a heapful of requests for an inspection. I brought my car in and worked with the service advisor, Jason. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and was very helpful in talking through recommended services from the mechanic. I left my car for a few hours and Nuri was my driver. They completed repairs on our 2017 Ford Edge without providing a detailed estimate. The initial problem was engine overheating due to a faulty water pump at an expected cost of a few hundred dollars. They completed other repairs without giving us a list of items that needed to be replaced. Our total bill exceeded 10 times what the water pump repair would have been. read more

Great service at an affordable price. I had an A/C problem with the car not cooling consistently, it turned out to be the Schrader Valves on the high and low pressure lines were leaking. Many repair shops would make this discovery some would say the pressure lines need replacing. I feel confident in the technicians at AAA. read more

There needs to be more than five stars!!! Just got my Cruze back from an overnight at AAA. Candy is 10 years old and needed a lot of small (and expensive) things done (thanks, AZ heat). Tanner was wonderful! Candy (the car) went right in and in about an hour I heard more about hoses, belts, and whatevers than I wanted to. In spite of my lack of knowledge (or because of it) Tanner explained everything. He separated out what needed to be done (e.g. fix leaks), what I wanted done (filters) and what I might want to consider in the future to avoid issues. I decided to get it all done at once. She spent the night there but AAA got me a ride home and a ride back the next day. Candy even got a shower and now glows in the sun. AAA may not be the cheapest place to go but I trust them, can always call if I have a question and know they will be in business when Candy needs attention next time. My service was OK at this facility. The only thing needed was an O2 sensor replaced. I do think the replacement cost was a bit on the high side, but I don't have a lift to get under the truck to do it myself. Being a member, getting a discount sounded good. It did get completed within a few hours, and resolved my Check Engine light. I've been a member of AAA for many years, and needed their service a few times in the past, and they have come through with flying colors, which has prompted me to continue my membership. Now however, after reading several reviews on towing problems with members, many hours late, or having excuses not to provide services, it makes me question the integrity of AAA. The primary reason for me continuing as a member is for those services when you break down, and need help - and assume that they will be there within a reasonable time to not leave you stranded - especially during the summer months. read more

I can't begin to say enough about this Company! I was dealing with a stressful situation with my one and only vehicle and was looking for some quick and reliable help! To recap a year ago: Inspection apt at 8am Inspection completed by 9am But they Never contacted me. So I called them at 11,1130And noon to ask what's up and each time they told me they'd call me back. But didn't. When they did eventually actually continue the conversation past well call you back it was to read the inspection report TO THEMSELVES and only tell me the price. So I asked what needs to get done. They could not confidently tell me everything that needed to be done. TODAY I gave them another shot. Here was the results: Scheduled apt for 9AM a week prior. Called day of at 7:30AM to confirm my apt. Arrive at 8:50AM to drop off my car. Go through the whole check in process to be told "Sorry we have 5 cars left over from the weekend ahead of you and 5 people called out sick so I dont know if we can see your car today" ^THIS could have been mentioned at 7:30AM when I called to confirm, I would have been able to get in at 8AM at the other AAA service spot. But no they wasted my time and gas, had me drive all the way down just to be told despite making and verifying my apt less than 2 hours ago they couldnt help me. This place sucks and it seems like in a year you guys have done nothing to fix it. read more

We had a rather bad experience with how our case was handled. My grandmother was driving her car and got a warning from the display that the A/C had been disabled due to high engine temperature. She got a tow over to this repair center with her AAA membership to have it looked at because she did not feel comfortable driving the vehicle further. Upon looking at the car, the diagnosis was down to three parts: the water outlet housing that included the thermostat, the temperature sensor in the radiator, and the temperature sensor located on the engine block. The billing for the job was where things got a little odd when we looked at the break down. Each part was listed out as if they were being done as separate jobs rather than all being done at one time. Meaning we were being charged for the coolant that would be needed to replace what drained out during the work three separate times. The parts cost was also odd because the listed price was nearly three times the OEM parts cost from the car manufacturer. read more

Set an 8am apt for a routine inspection Inspection only took an hour but they never contacted me. So at 11am I call and ask what's up with my car - they say they'll call back 1130am I call again. Same thing Noon I call again, Rob finally helps me. He reads through the inspection under his breath so I have no idea what needs to get fixed and then says you're looking at $670 today and I'm like for what you haven't told me what needs to get done. This place is a mess go anywhere else. Update: when I picked up my car they told me I needed to have cars rotated. They had just been rotated 2 weeks prior. They did not mention anything about getting the oil of air filters changed which is strange considering both needed to be done and the change oil light came on as I was rolling away. As per their comment below I reached out. They then called me to have me reiterate every thing I had already said. I explained how it seemed like they didn't inspect my vehicle at all. They didn't deny it just said thanks for the feedback. Please don't make the mistake I made go somewhere else. I've lost faith in AAA service centers. read more

Took my car in for what I thought to be an honest, reputable assessment of issues with my vehicle. Made an appt. I knew the rear brakes needed to be done. Left the car for the entire day. When I came in to get my car, the brakes had not been done, saying they got very busy. Was told I needed front breaks also-not the case. Front brakes were fine. Was told I I needed way more struts replaced than necessary. Was told I needed to replace inside cabin filter because it was dirty. My husband JUST changed the inside cabin filter the day before-literally! When I asked the service rep to check with the mechanic, he then told me the mechanic never physically looked at the filter, he only went by year of vehicle and mileage. Will not be bringing my car to this AAA Auto Repair in Mesa again. read more

I took my vehicle here because we needed a second opinion on needing a new transmission. A dealership service department had quoted us about $5000 for a new transmission, but when we took it to AAA, specifically to technician, Ramon, he diagnosed the my brake caliper had come loose causing the car no to move forward. Ramon saved us not only a lot money but peace of mind that the job was done correctly. This will definitely be our new go to place for all our car maintenance! When I went into the store to renew my annual coverage she informed me soon they will no longer accepting cash! Of course when you pay with plastic there is a ton of personal data they can collect off the card and from data brokers online, but when you pay in cash that's pretty much limits what they know about me. So I guess AAA has fired me as a customer. (after several poorly handled instances of store credit card terminals being hacked (pizza hut was one) and false charges on my cards I went back to paying cash for everything, especially because you are not guaranteed to get your money refunded by the bank.) read more

I suffered a flat on a day when it was 113 degrees out. Newer cars typically do not have spares, so I needed a tow to someplace I could get my tire fixed/replaced. The AAA tow came withing one-half hour. I was towed to the AAA Mesa Auto Repair Center. They were able to determine that the tire could not be repaired but also that my remaining three tires had little wear on them and I would only need to replace the flat tire. They called numerous tire outlets and finally had to call an auto dealer for my make and model of car. It was almost 5 PM when they were able to contact a dealer that could order the tire to come in sometime in the next few days. It actually came overnight and the AAA repair center had my car ready to go the next day. I was happy with the service and the quick repair time. Not so much with the cost of the tire as I have not had to buy one in over 20 years. Inflation is not fun. read more

It pays to be a AAA member. When our car broke down on the expressway on a late Saturday afternoon, one call to AAA and they promised a driver would be there in less than 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes the friendly tow driver had the car secured on the bed of the truck. Even offered us a bottle of ice cold water. Within 15 minutes of a jovial ride, we arrived at AAA Arizona Auto Repair. Seeing that it was close to closing time, they shuttled us home in their curtsey van, promising to diagnose the problem as soon as they open on Monday morning at 7:00am and give us a call with the results and cost to repair. By 10:00am that Monday morning, they called with the news that it was the alternator along the idler pulley. They gave us the cost of the repair including the 15% AAA membership discount and told us the car would be done by 2:00pm and call us to let us know the courtesy van would be on its way to pick us up. We were totally impressed with this outfit. Not only was it a repair shop but a total AAA haven, offering everything from travel arrangements around he world, auto purchasing, auto rental and financial (Certificate of Deposits, Investment and Insurance) go to place. Had we have waited; they have a comfortable lounge, not some grease shop with cheap plastic chairs and the smell of gas and oil permeating through the air. This place is class act all the way. We would have thought we were at the Royals Royce Dealership throughout the whole ordeal. The price was very reasonable as I showed the invoice to a friend who is a mechanic and he told me, "They were right on with the pricing and labor." The 15% off with AAA membership made it an even better deal. Two things my Dad (God Rest His Soul) taught me as a first time car owner at 16. "Son, two things are a must being a car owner, AAA and State Farm Insurance." Dad's advice has served me well. read more

The people are excellent to deal with but there are major issues, too. My engine stopped performing on the freeway and AA towing was quick on the spot. I thought I could depend on their AAA Auto Repair and admired they are diversifying. However, their shop never found the reason the engine stopped working and gave me a list including replacing the catalytic converter at a HUGE cost, motor mounts, suspension and ball joints. I towed the car to my normal mechanic (an amazing mechanic) and he learned immediately that the fan had broken - most likely the cause of the shutdown (but ignored by AAA Repair). Well, I didn't ask for estimates on other issues on the car and was charged $90 for the work I didn't ask for and didn't need - most shops provide free estimates. I only wanted to know why the engine quit so I could fix that. If AAA has repair shops, they need to do it right and have qualified mechanics - seemed they are incapable for now, but the towing service was excellent. Oh, also, they couldn't take payment over the phone and were totally disorganized in doing so in the office - hey, guys it's only $90! - so that held up the towing person and he wasn't happy - I told him what was going on causing the delays and he lighted up when those in repair just ignored the poor guy. That guy was held up an hour because the AAA Repair kept stalling. So towing services were 100% positive for us, BUT the AAA Repair was a total waste of time - - so AAA, if you are going to diversify, you need to learn to do it right - you need a sr. mechanic first up and especially you need to stay on message and not create a laundry list of "nice to do" items at excessive prices!!!! Also, the prices were not just high, but way, way too high and you need to be fair and competitive with pricing, too. My trusted mechanic will do these repairs if they are needed, but most are not necessary. First, he'll fix what caused the problem - a simple thing your shop couldn't even find. read more

I have never had AAA. Signed up for the first time last month because I had one of my kids going out of state and I thought it might be helpful. The lady on the phone talk me into signing up all my kids for the program. It wasn't much more money so what the heck. The week after we got AAA my 21-year-old daughter got a flat tire on her brand new car. A lot of the new cars now do not have spares so she was stranded and I was out of state. AAA to the rescue. She had her temporary ID card, called them and everything was handled. They end up having to tow the car to this location and put a new tire on for her. The guy at the shop even called me to make sure it was OK to put on a different brand tire. They did not stock the exact one that came on the car. I really love the attention to detail. I have been using this location for auto service needs for several years now and have never experienced an issue with auto service. The service advisors are very friendly and up front with any work you request and are prompt with any follow up needed, I have never had them come back with "suggesting" other services that other places seem to offer and turn out to be "upsells" to pad the bill or increase sales / comissions. As an AAA member you also get a standard 10% off your invoice, and their quotes have always been just as fair priced or better than other repair shops. I have had to leave my vehicle a few times during the weekday for service / repairs and have used the shuttle service, they are very prompt and a smile, not only do they drop you off at work but they also pick you up in the afternoon as well for a return trip to pick up your vehicle. You just need to remember that this is a repair facility and does not stock "parts" so if your vehicle has needs for a part to be outsourced the you need to allow the time for the part tobe ordered and arrive, I have has this happen a few times but they have always provided an update, and when your part arrives the mechanic will get bact to your vehicle. read more

Worst customer experience. I do not typically write reviews but in this case I felt it would be a disservice if I didn't. I recently moved from California to Arizona and have been a satisfied AAA member for 32 years, this is the first time I have had a bad experience with a AAA office. I recieved my normal notice in the mail that my registration and tags were due come October. I figured seeing that the Mesa office was open Saturdays that I would get this taken care of over the weekend. The wait was not too long (30 minutes) & the initial transaction was not long either. My return visit about an hour later is what promoted this review. Upon getting home (a 30 min drive) I realized the sticker given to me with my new license plate now showed the month of August however my tags were originally paid through October (basically I was being shorted by 2 months) I tried calling the AAA number to get this resolved over the phone after 40 minutes and being transferred four times they could not reach anybody in the Mesa location (come to find out their phone lines are down on Saturdays, not sure why). So I decided to drive back out there to get this rectified. Once I got back to the AAA Mesa office I explained to Guadalupe (who was the original person that helped me) why I returned. Her response was "well you never told me" with a smirk (referring to the month my registration was actually due) hello..I gave you the registration notice I recieved in the mail? I was there getting my registration renewed do you not look at when it's due? Needless to say this didn't get resolved. Not sure if Guadalupe was unhappy that she was working on a Saturday or what she maybe going through in her personal life but she could have handled this differently, not put this back on me with her "well you never told me" response. A first impression is a lasting impression. I hope I don't have to come to this office again. read more

Very disappointed. We got our original battery from AAA and it is still under warranty. Yesterday our car wouldn't start. We called AAA and they sent a guy to assist. The guy tested the battery and said it was fine and called a tow truck. The tow truck driver jumped the car, got it running, said it was probably not a charging system problem and most likely the battery. He said he would tow it to the AAA garage about a mile away. They kept the car overnight and the next morning ran a diagnostic and said they could find nothing wrong and to come and get the car. When we got there, the car was dead, and they now determined that yes it is the battery and they replaced it. But they charged us $80 for the diagnostic test which we never authorized and we did not need. We just needed the battery to be replaced under warranty. read more

The place where time literally stands still. I spent 3 hours there just to have my brakes looked at. I can only imagine the sleep deprivation, insanity, and starvation that would have ensued if I would have actually gotten some work done. I suppose that since 90% of the people there were retired, time didn't matter. Weird layout, slow but friendly service, and fair prices. Competent work. I went in for an oil change. No problems with that. The problem came in with the upsell (them trying to outright rob me blind). The older gentleman at the counter was nice enough, but he told me that I needed to have my front brake pads replaced and change the calipers because I was in immediate danger of my brake pads wearing through on my one front tire and that the other front brake pad would be worn through in the near future due to big time uneven wear. Long-story short, the sky is falling and I need to get this fixed immediately. They gave me the estimate at $672.81 including labor. So I take the car into another shop later to get a second opinion and the owner looks at my car and tells me that I still have about 20,000 to 25,000 miles left on all of my brake pads. This is my second time at this AAA service location (and last). The previous time I had an my radiator and brake system flushed and the next day when I start pulling out of my driveway I saw that the radiator fluid had leaked out. I went back immediately and they did fix it. I was foolish and gave them a second chance. There's some serious unethical practices going on at AAA in Mesa, AZ. Almost $700 in unneeded repair-work. That's outright theft. read more

This is a hard call. I always get quality work done at this location, but I spend an ungodly amount and I get diagnosed with problems that are either inaccurate or overstated. But the AAA aspect of this service is supposed to negate that! You're not supposed to have this experience with AAA. The gentlemen who work the office are good salesmen, but it appears that their mechanic likes to make me known of changes that MUST be made to my car or else I'm going to run into disaster. It's a load of nonsense. The disconnect between the mechanic and the salesmen is what really gets me upset. They put your car in for a diagnosis (it is very thorough) and will check stuff you did not even request (which is kind?) and tell you that you should get it fixed. For example, a brake checked revealed a leak in a hose? What the hell are they doing looking at anything other than my brakes? When you come here, be as explicit as humanly possible. I'm normally VERY explicit with car repair shops. Let there be a solid understanding between you and the salesman. The salesmen are human. If they get to know you, they will expose how human they are. You can negotiate. The work quality is top notch but everything is 200%+ markup (but AAA takes 10% off for parts not labor!) and it takes a decently long time to get your service done. Good luck finding a better mechanic, however. read more

Except for one customer service agent in the automotive department, the others are pleasant. There wasn't any pressure to purchase extra parts and the wait wasn't bad since I had an early appointment. The TV news station and fresh coffee made the wait go by faster. Am a AAA member, new to the area. Brought my RAV 4 in for an oil change, hose replacement, AC check and suspension maintenance(new struts and shocks, alignment). Came in to pick her up, paid the bill ($2700.00), got the keys. Started her up and the AC blew only hot air. Mechanics had all gone for the day, so had to leave her overnight. Came back next afternoon, all was supposed to be fixed. My husband decided he wanted to check over all the other work done. He crawled under the front of the car and found that the nuts on the left side strut had not been tightened properly. One actually came off in his hand and the other was only about halfway up the bolt! Imagine driving home on the freeway at 65MPH and having that whole business come apart!!!! Had to leave the RAV overnight again. Picked her up this morning, was told that all the work was looked over and the realignment redone. Driving home everything seems OK. However, this kind of sloppy, irresponsible work is unacceptable!!!!! We will NOT be back. Anyone looking for someplace to take their car should bypass this place! read more

Don't waste your time. Only had them replace two tires and now my lug nut caps are stripped, stole my bag for my jack and tools, moved my sunroof mechanism out of whack and I get back a dirty disgusting car with an old man asking me about mileage. That was a BIG giveaway. I now have 80 miles of unexplained travel on my speedometer. Nice people; able to get my car in for an appointment fairly quickly; able to perform a full service that many would not do; decent rates; and seemed like there was no problem with integrity. However, wrong diagnosis for auto repair. Basically, as I was purchasing a car in the Mesa area, I brought the used vehicle here for a pre-purchase inspection. And the diagnosis I received for several issues with some noise was - well This looked ok, so maybe you could try this first, and then try this. We're not sure. I took the car somewhere else later to get everything that needed done done, and was told, umm, no, This is the problem. They fixed said problem, and it solved all of it. I would assume that they drove my car here at Triple A to get a feel for the issue, so maybe even then they just couldn't figure it out. (Again, nice people, but I need to know what actually needs to be serviced, not just start throwing darts.) Maybe they did not in fact drive it to see. Regardless, I will be taking my vehicle to better diagnostic shops. read more
