These guys have been great! I've used them for maintenance for awhile, and my regular tech, Rosemund is wonderful. I'm always left with the feeling that he truly cares about what he does, and goes "above and beyond" to make sure things are running right. Also, back in August, as I was leaving town for a family emergency, my very old system gave out. I knew it was time to replace, and called them for help. I was not able to get back home for weeks, but I spoke with Hans who did everything he could to make the process easy for me, even though I could not be there in person. The A/C compressor at my rental property stopped turning on. I called AAA Modern upon a coworkers recommendation. Their visit fee was fair at $65 and they got to the house quickly. The technician called me and told me the Dual start capacitor was bad and it would cost $316 to replace. Not knowing any better and relying on the referral I said go ahead with the repair. I found out from several websites and forums that the repair should have been no more than $170...tops! When I called AAA and raised my concerns, the gentleman told me that this was a fair price for a licensed and insured installer to charge for the repair....I don't think so. Well, at least they offer a 1 year warranty on the repair (fingers crossed) I learned from my mistake and decided to write this review to hopefully save someone else who does their research BEFORE they leap. read more

Beware they charged me $200 to install a capacitor which is worth $10 on amazon and took 10 minutes to install I would be surprised the part even needed replacing... AAA Modern Air are the absolute best when it comes to either servicing your A/C or even having a new A/C unit installed. They are honest and dependable and understand how difficult it is when our units malfunction and do the best to get you scheduled within a day or less. I have signed up for the semi-annual maintenance plan that covers two A/C checks, tune-ups. I actually have my A/C covered under a home service contract, but the last time when the A/C stopped working, I phoned them, and they said they would be out by the end of the week. I couldn't believe those words. Even though your unit might be covered under your home service plan, you honestly can't rely upon that, as you cannot live a day, let along an hour, without A/C especially in South Florida during the summer. Our A/C unit stopped running and I called AAA Modern Air for service. They sent out a tech by the name of Jed who proceeded to tell me that my compressor was burnt up and my air handlers' fins were bent with both units needing a full replacement for the cost of $6345.00. I declined and brought in another tech who diagnosed the problem as a defective capacitor which he then replaced for a total cost of $189.00. What AAA's tech didn't know is that I have some knowledge of refrigeration, and I was immediately aware of his blatant attempt to mislead me as to the issue at hand, and upsell me into a costly job that was totally unnecessary. I found AAA Modern Air by chance. I called in a plumber to do some work and mentioned that we needed a new A/C and he highly recommended this company. I am SO glad he did. They gave us the best price to install a new a/c, while having to make repairs to a few things that were done incorrectly in the installation of our old unit. They came when they said they would be there, installed the unit, and did some troubleshooting that other companies just wouldn't do or would do without asking us what we would prefer. We've had so many different companies come out in the past that just took our money without correctly repairing our old unit and totally neglecting to tell us that it had been installed incorrectly, hence all the issues with the old unit. I found AAA Modern Air after reading all of their great online reviews. The office was friendly, and super easy to schedule with. I called first thing in the morning, and they were ready to send someone out within a few hours. At my property, I needed a biannual maintenance service, and for them to check the drain line (someone had installed it in front of where you put the filter). AAA Modern Air had their technician Ken come out, who called when he was on his way. He was friendly, knowledgable, and honest. He told me that I didn't need to move the drain line, and showed me a different way to put the filter in. For the maintenance, Ken took his time, explained everything that he was doing, and why. Their prices are reasonable, and they are very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend AAA Modern Air. I will be using them from now on! read more

AC unit was installed and maintained by AAA Modern Air. The unit stopped cooling so I called them for service. I told them it was the capacitor for the fan motor. They came out and replaced it which took perhaps 20 minutes and charged $249! The part costs $11.98 MY COST. So $65 service charge + $12 part + 20 minutes warrants $250! Needless to say when it is time for more service or a new unit, it will not be from this company. I am in construction and understand profits and markups, but this is excessive price gouging. Too bad they traded short term profit for a long term customer. read more

Lived up to their name. Called them late on a Friday afternoon and they were out the next morning. And there was no extra charge for the Saturday visit. The technician, Joe, quickly diagnosed the problem and given that it was a simple setting (my bad) only charged me for the call, which was quite reasonable, while continuing to run a full diagnostic to make sure that there were no other problems. Something has changed with AAA. They were my favorite air conditioning company. This time they have been condescending and rude. Talked me through servicing my own issue because 6:30pm was an unreasonable time for a service call. Begged for a service call next day and was hung up on. This lead to a significant leak that in turn took 4 days to schedule a repair. I am on a service plan with them. This would provide me with on call service. Last Thursday AAA Modern Air arrived on time and a very nice, professional tech gave the my AC a maintenance check and cleaning . I had the the whole system installed by AAA last year, so all was well and ready for a hot summer. Over the weekend I realized the condensate line was not draining and the pan was over flowing. So Monday morning I called AAA to have a tech give it another try , and was able to get a 12-5 time slot for an appointment. When no one arrived by 5 I called to see when they were arriving. I was told someone would call me back to say when, that never happened. Tuesday morning I called to reschedule and was told they would come 12-4. That afternoon I called around 4 and they weren't sure when they would get there. I rescheduled for the next day, I asked for an early appointment so I wouldn't have to wait all day again. I got 8-12. So the next day when I called at 12 to see where they were, I was told my appointment was 12-5. The receptionist informed me I was mistaken about the time and I should be patient. Not one I'm sorry or let me make this right for you! So when the tech got here at 5 and quickly fixed the original problem with a great attitude and real professionalism , I'm left wondering why such a good company with an otherwise excellent reputation let the department in charge of scheduling drop the ball 3 days in a row? As much as I like your work, I have to rethink doing future business with you. read more

I called AAA Modern for a thermostat install. They came out same day and did the install in just a few minutes. The technician, Josue, was very knowledgeable and professional. He noticed the float switch on the unit was disconnected. He replaced the faulty float switch and installed the thermostat unit. The customer service was excellent and at a decent price. I tried to contact this company for a bid for our condo, when I finally got thru to a person on the phone the very first thing I was told is that it costs $65. for them to come out to assess the problem and if we go ahead and use them for the repair/replacement then the $65. comes off of the bill. When someone wants to throw a price at me before they know ANYTHING at all about a problem I immediately get my hackles up. I asked, how am I supposed to get three competing bids if I have to lay out $65. before we even begin? I was then told that no one will come out and give me a price for free. Well AAA Modern Air, I did have 2 other companies come out and give me prices for free and went ahead and had a replacement unit installed by one of those companies. Stuff your $65. read more

They are the best and I would not go to any other company as their services are absolutely fantastic. Our air conditioner went down on us yesterday and I made one call to them this morning and they gave me a slotted time for their arrival on the same day. Well Josue Taleno came on time as per agreed by his office and he called me before he arrived and poor guy had to run up and down the stairs to his van a few times and he did not complain about it at all. I couldn't be happier with the services that AAA Modern Air has provided me. I purchased a home in Fort Lauderdale last year. The very first night I stayed here, we noticed that not much air was coming from the vent in the master br. I called a few Hvac companies in the area using Yelp, but nobody but AAA Modern was able to come out within a reasonable time frame. Angelo came out to the house and determined that the venting from my main unit to the master was too small to carry the load to the master, the master bath and the the master closet. The solution was to run a new line from the main unit through the attic and into the master. The problem was that my home had been substantially remodeled and the access from the unit to the master was very tight. I scheduled the service for a time when I could be there all day and they showed up on time. Luckily they sent two very slim young men over because they literally had to climb through spaces most dogs couldn't get through. I couldn't be happier when they finished. Everything looked perfect and the air was ice cold. Most recently I had some noise coming from the air handler area and called AAA Modern to come take a look. The tech showed up within 2 hours and found that the water pumps for condensation were dirty and needed cleaning. He took care of both units and signed me up for an annual cleaning service so it won't happen again. I'm happy to say that the noise is gone and the units are running perfectly again. What an excellent customer service experience. This is the second package unit the company has installed for me. For the last 15 years they have been attentive and on point with any requests or issue that naturally developed as my last unit aged. The office and sales staff were very courteous and made crystal clear what I could expect with my new unit instillation . I did look around and received estimates from a few other companies but they all fell short in one way or another. One of the most important things to me about my interaction with AAA is that "I got what I paid for!" And that is a wonderful feeling.
