This company is staffed with careless individuals that after failing to get an appointment scheduled, just showed up one day. I allowed these pop-ins to inspect my attic for a duct replacement estimate and while up there I watched as one intentionally pressed down on the aluminum duct, flattening the top. They didn't speak English to each other in front of me, so I had to ask what was going on and I was just told "it's ok." I previously had another one of their staff appointed to inspect my attic, but he was literally unfit for the job and had to send out someone more able-bodied. Kind of funny, but also a waste of both of our time. One of the guys that answered the phone to take my original appointment had to yell "I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING" to his co-workers that were carelessly chatting loudly while we were on the phone. I get the impression that they do that often and/or he's just not a great communicator. No proper introduction, no etiquette, no appointment pop-in, and ultimately no estimate either... but to add insult to injury, they squished my aluminum duct, potentially worsening my problem. I'm sure that if you're the kind of person that just lets service people come and do whatever they want without asking anything that you could end up getting somewhat decent work, but I'd suggest you find another company that has at least some common curtesy. I was a potential customer that they failed to get because of basic principles that seem to be lost on these individuals... You are expected at a minimum to: Speak English, greet customer, exchange names, explain what you're going to do, give estimate, thank customer. read more

My condo heat pump was replaced this week by Coastal Comfort.The entire process from bid approval to complete installation and final inspection took less than 1 week!! I solicited 3 bids and selected Coastal Comfort based on confidence, price, efficiency and mfg. warranty. The price was in alignment with my expectations for a project of this size. The installation crew (Jonada & Rodney) were knowledgeable, efficient and respectful of personal property. The technical support (Rickey) that followed sealed my confidence that I had made the right decision. The company also has a group that deals exclusively with city agency permit process. I recently installed a new Bosch AC air handling unit in my condo in Fort Lauderdale. I got estimates from a few HVAC companies and asked my neighbors for recommendations and Coastal Comfort seemed the best option. Everything from ordering the unit, getting the COI, installation, etc. went smoothly and exactly as they promised. Their price and warranty were the best. Sadly to say a few months after installation the unit wasn't working properly. They came out immediately, diagnosed the problem (faulty sensor, circuit board - not their problem, potentially a power surge from FLP when we had an outage) and the tech actually drove 15 miles to Weston to pick up the parts so he could install them same day. And all of this was covered by my warranty (parts and labor), didn't cost me a penny. I can't think of a better company or a better, more professional experience. read more

I requested a representative to come out and discuss whether or not my 5 ton a/c thermostat needed to be calibrated. The service representative, Phil was extremely knowledgeable about the systems attributes. He was able to determine what the problem was and also did a quick service check up on the unit. $190/HR?! This for a tech that looked like he was maybe 20 on his first day solo. l'd been using them for 12 years and always had my AC unit serviced once a year. Unless there was other work to be done it was typically reasonable, $150 or so. The latest bill came to $268. So I was charged for the hour plus some vacuum work, there's an extra charge for that, plus two tablets for $22 (ala an employee) and an air filter. Now for a $150 service call you'd have to have a contract where they come out three times a year. WHO DOES THAT?! lt just sucks that a company I've been loyal to would pull such a money grab. read more

I called Coastal Comfort HVAC in the morning and they were here before 1pm. They had installed a complete AC in 2021 during Covid and gave us a great price and 10 year Parts & Labor warranty on our York unit. It started making a noise on startup but was still cooling so I called in for a maintenance service and check up. When Danny the technician arrived, he listened to it and knew right away that the compressor was going bad. I thought great. We're gonna be down a few days while they try to get the part. But as it turned out. He had the exact compressor at their warehouse and installed it same day. When he was done, he noticed another issue with the inside air handler. A valve wasn't working properly so he came out the next morning and replaced that. He did a great cleanup job afterward and did a full service on the unit clearing the drain lines and giving me tips on what I can do to keep it in top condition. He was really great at troubleshooting and clearly knew his craft. I highly recommend them. read more

I am elated. I had two brand new LG systems installed at my property. Two of the rooms never got cooled, a leak was suspected. I had two AC professionals check my system. They suspected a leak but were unable to find it. One company quoted $3000 to isolate the leak and fix the system. Frustrated; I called LG. They recommended three companies in my area. I settle on Coastal Comfort. Why? They answered their phone! They sent an AC professional named Jordan!! He was able to pinpoint the problem leak and seal it!! But wait! He discovered, while doing a system check, that the room wall units were shutting down because the electrician installed a 120v power supply! Instead of the required 220v. That explained why the room's wall units furthest away from the compressors; were not running hot and shutting down intermittently. Insufficient voltage! I paid him with much joy!!! I felt like I had won the lottery. He saved me over $1500! read more

Booked an appointment for servicing on my unit about a week and half ago. Spoke with Kyle, sent me a service contract which I agreed to and signed/returned. The day of my appointment Friday, May 24th...called throughout the day to confirm 3x. Was told I was on the calendar, and just waiting for the tech. At 5:30pm, I called again, got the answering service, who stated that they would have someone contact me asap. It is now Sunday, a holiday weekend, and NOTHING! No one contacted me at all to cancel, change the appointment, or reschedule. The absolute LOWEST in customer appreciation. So, I will not wish them luck in any future endeavors. I am a retired licensed marine engineer. I am qualified as an HVAC tech. Coastal has sent quality personnel to diagnose and fix my ACs. On the weekend, nobody would even answer the phone except one guy who wanted a ransom to even look. The Coastal guy said $ 100 if the problem is easy to fix. He found the problem and fixed it on 1/2 hour. They are superb, from my direct experience. I have reviewed other places and services, and read reviews that are the complete opposite of mine. this company is a fraud especially the guy who handles the estimates and invoices. His name is Kyle, he does not call back, does not respect customers, and is arrogant in his dealings with customers. They are not just way overpriced, and they pad the bill. We have had 3 bad experiences with them and no more of course. They sent Pedro to our building, the job required 2 men the only reason for the second man is to help lift. They sent 2 "so called" techs at $149 per hour and when they got it done in under and hour, Pedro walked over to the cooling tower to adjust the thermostat, which was not required, and he got it to an hour and 10 minutes and of course they charge for any part of an hour. So, for less than an hour of work, 2 so called techs charged us for 2 hours of work at $149 per hour each so thats 600 dollars for what should have been about 200. they are scammers. do not fall for these people's scam. I called for service for a split Mitsubishi A/C unit that they installed 16 months ago. I specifically said ,it had a bad odor. The technician came looked at it and said he had to call the office. Ten minutes later he comes in and sprayed something on the fins. Vacuum the drain outside and said it had to be taken apart. So again he had to call the office. He came back after a few minutes and said that the office would call me, I asked for the bill and again he had to call the office!! Ten minutes later $188. Smells bad and no one from the office ever called me. read more

The level of service seems to have recently deteriorated badly. I had a routine service call a month ago to check Freon levels etc and got the all clear. Then just now my a/c stopped working because of low Freon. When I called CC to question and ask for a discount, Fatima, the customer service basically started shouting at me and I felt like she was accusing me of being dishonest. Eventually did get a discount from a supervisor but lots of attitude on the way. Then, when I paid by credit card they added a 4.5% credit card admin fee! There are lots of alternatives out there and I will be looking elsewhere. Not a pleasant experience. read more

We had a new air conditioner installed for $5285.00. It should have been installed with 2, 3ft hoses. Instead the installer use 1- 3f hose and 1-6 ft hose. Over the course of the next 10 months the unit kept over heating and shutting down. The owner blamed the unit and replaced it at a cost to me of an extra $2,105.74 which included having to shut down the main cooling tower of the condominium complex. That worked for 2 months and then it started having the same problem again. Over heating and shutting down. I call an independent HVAC specialist who took one look and determined the problem was the 6 ft hose which was too long and caused it to twist and lay on the floor, collect debris, clog and you guessed it... OVER HEAT! This same thing happened to two (2) different units. I finally called and asked them to takeoff the two different size hoses and put on the type of rubber hose that the older unit had of the same length, we haven't had a problem since. I called the owner and told him the problem was in installation and not a bad unit and I wanted my extra $2105.74 back. He spend the next 20 minutes telling me he was the best HVAC guy in the world and what I said was impossible! Could never happen, and even if a judge ordered him to pay me, he wasn't going to because he knew he was right! I said, how is it possible that the same issue happened to two different units? He said it was a coincidence. With all the overheating of both units we've had approximately 12 visits from their techs and all the worries and frustration that goes with having no air-conditioning in Southern Florida, just waiting for the mold to develop and ruin my newly remodeled condo. Run, don't walk away from this company. Save yourself, money and hours of frustration. read more

We recently purchased a home and were aware that the AC system was in need of replacement, we weren't expecting it to happen immediately. The previous owner of the home painted the outside units white and so our home inspector could only tell us that the unit was working but in need of replacement. The unit quit working the day after closing and we called Coastal Comfort for help. Saturday morning the tech showed up and managed to find a date under all of the paint that said the unit was from 1997! We got a quote for a replacement unit and the installation just finished. I could not be happier with the level of service we received from Coastal Comfort and the level of competence in the installers. They guys at the house were polite and trustworthy, explaining what was happening along the way. Long story short, we have a new 3.5 ton unit in our 3000 sq ft home which was fairly priced and expertly installed. This company is a hassle to deal with. The last two times my ac was out I called and every time the technician has a excuse of why he can't come that same day. Yesterday I called on a Sunday at 3 pm for service. I was expecting to pay more because it was a Sunday. He gets back to me at 5 and says it would be 800 to repair a Freon leak and would be here till 8 pm. It was clear to me this guy didn't want to come out on a sunday. He promised me I would be his first call I'm Monday, I reached out to him by text at 8 am and no response. So I called the office and explained and the lady was rude. Called the largest AC company with 100 trucks on the road and they had a technician at my place with in a hour and repaired for 175. Don't call Coastal Comfort air. They are a joke read more

I had to replace my 8 year old 4 ton 20 seer Trane unit after a compressor shorted out. Didn't transfer the warranty when I bought the house so it was out of warranty. Anyway, the repair was going to cost over $4000 and still not be under warranty so I reluctantly decided it was best to buy a new system. After getting an estimate of $13,000 from the company that had installed the unit in 2013 and maintained it, I reached out to Tony to see to if it was a fair price after my brother raved about Coastal Comfort. I live in Naples so I just wanted information from Tony to avoid getting screwed over. Tony, incredibly, offered to send his techs to Naples to replace my system and by far offered me the lowest quote for a better system even with a $300 travel charge. In the end, I went with a local company (other than my current one) in Naples even though their quote was originally $600 more. I showed them Coastal Comfort's quote and asked them to drop $200 off. I ended up paying $400 more but the local company can service the unit and if in the future I have any problems, their techs can respond. After speaking with Tony and having him explain the different systems, specs and prices, I feel so much more at ease that I got a great system and good price. Can't thank Tony enough for offering to have his techs drive 90 miles to replace my system, for advising me and making my final decision easy. read more

I can not recommend Coastal Comfort. Customer service does not exist. The people that answer the phone are dis-interested. One young woman was short in tone to me and rude. I spent money on a repair, and the repair technician recommended that though the unit was working, that I should consider getting the unit replaced. He said I would get a credit toward a new unit for the work he had done. He said someone would call me to get an estimate. A day passed and no one called. I called the next day twice, was told someone would call, no one did. I called the technician back, and he said he would have someone call me, and no one did. It became obvious they were not interested in my business. I had another company come by to give me an estimate, and that company said there was no reason I needed a new unit. I showed them the invoice from Coastal Comfort and the other company technician (the company's owner) said the invoice I paid was twice what his company would have paid for the same work. I feel doomed by Coastal Comfort. I will not be using them again; and do not recommend you use them. read more

Allow me to start this with having been a Property Manager of 20+ properties in Arizona for 4+ years. I wasn't the best, but I had a clue..enough so, to give the "Friday AC blow-out" the benefit of the doubt. However... This is the 3rd Summer in a row where they had to come out...never able to fix same day. In one instance, they said part wasn't available on Friday...no part in the shop...no part in the store...no part in any of their trucks (=suck 84+ degrees in FL until Monday). Monday rolls around with 3rd tech. He says that he hasn't heard anything about the part, but he'll check his truck...MIRACLE!!!...it happens to be there. Repeat failure today. Typing this from AC'd hotel room. I'm just a renter...Coastal Comfort's fault or owner needs to buy a new AC? You decide...but do so knowing they probably will leave you to a sweaty FL night or 4.
