Wanted to add an update. Since I won't drive a vehicle with a leaking radiator, it has taken me a few days to find the next bit... I don't know what this part is or why it is laying on the passenger side floor, but I just found it today. I guess I would have found it sooner if the car was drivable after I got it home. I haven't had a chance to start looking for where it used to go, but I will update this again once I figure out what it is. read more

My parents have taken our automobiles here for around 20 years. The service hasn't always been poor, which is why I gave them 2 stars. However, since 2018 or 2019, there was a noticeable change. On Easter 2021, I took my car there to be looked at. The battery in my car was going dead overnight, even after purchasing a brand new one. They had my car until the end of July, 2021, and STILL had not found the cause. Luckily, I could borrow my father's car when I needed to. But can you imagine if this were my only transportation?!? How could they expect me to go close to 4 months without my car? Finally, I went to pick it up and took it somewhere else. The other repair shop found the issue in 4 hours, tops. I had to return to Bob Sumerel's because the brand new battery they sold me had gone dead, but it was still under warranty. When I told him that the other business found the problem within a few hours, all he said was "hmm". I never got an apology for how long they had my car. In addition, their prices seem to be very expensive. read more

Just went in for an oil change. Normally go to a different place where my oil change is around $40. They charged me $100 for just an oil change! If I wasn't desperate, I would have just waited and gone back to our normal place. This place is a complete rip off. Whatever you need done, I'm sure it will be cheaper somewhere else! read more

I spoke with Travis over the phone. I was referred to this shop by Liberty Collision. Liberty told me they refer all of their repair business to this shop. Travis was a joy to talk with. Even though calling a repair shop doesn't always put you in a good mood Travis bright personality and jokes put a smile on my face. We didn't use their shop, but I want to give a review of how responsive they were to my quote inquiry. Since we were traveling through when we hard our van challenges, they were willing to accommodate us and get us in their shop the same day. Thank You Travis! read more

They have always done an excellent job on all 4 of our vehicles very fair and do a great job of honoring warranties .

I had a service contract plan through my car lender. When my transmission went out and I found out that they accepted my service contract I thought great! So they took about a week and a half to switch out transmissions it was perfect. When I picked my car up there was a huge dent on top of the fender, in a spot that is impossible to hit with another car. They refused to take blame and I know for a fact that it was from them. Probably when they put it on the lift they hit it on something or dropped something on top of it. read more

On Tuesday afternoon, Sept.29th, our 2002 Honda Accord had to be towed to Bob Sumerel Tire for a tire that was under warranty to be replaced. Unfortunately, the tire had to be ordered. The car had to just wait. No signs stating any lack of responsibility for any vehicles in their care. Then, leaving the keys and car in their possession, in good faith, we awaited a phone call. When we received our phone call, they told us that during the night someone cut off our catalytic converter and we should call the police. "Why haven't you already?" "We don't get involved with that part." Police report was filed with City of Middletown. I just got off the phone with Jason Bush, Area Manager, AAA Bob Sumerel. The car was on the lot, "not in the garage", therefore not covered under their insurance. We did not sign a release of reliability. No signs posted either; completely unwilling to pay for any damages. I feel this is a complete injustice. Very disappointed and now out a repair bill of $426.00. Ray's Muffler will help us tomorrow but this is ridiculous. 0 STARS read more

I took my car in for a low oil problem. Could be a leak idk because they didn't fix my issue after 2 and a half days or even start on it. I was respectful and polite as humanly possible so I couldn't tell you why. But they refused to let my know when the diagnostic would be done let alone anything else. They replaced a battery I didn't need tho which cost me $208. The front desk told me to wait a minute the second day I came in to check on the car with no greeting as everyone else was greeted, the second front desk man took the guy behind me and left me standing for 5 mins for a total of about 10 with no word. so I sat down. I then had to overhear them talking about me literally behind my back saying they don't know why I'm sitting there I just be in my own little world. Just rude. I eventually got up to check on my car after I was sitting there for hours while they fixed car after car that was in the shop after mine while mine sat there without a touch, and they had no answer as to how long the diagnosis would take still. The first day I brought it in they wouldn't even work on it cuz I had a bag of dirty clothes and chipotle bags and normal debris in the floor which I understood. What I didn't understand is they said they needed the whole inside if the car cleaned and the floor cleaned of all debris. I did it anyway and even apologized over and over because it could be considered dirty but I've never met a mechanic afraid of normal floor debris ever. I've worked cleaning broken down horrible apartments so ik gross and it was not that bad. They also, knowing I brought my car in for low oil, started my car multiple times and drove it multiple times. They even started it up and pulled backwards while parts were missing and handed the keys to me telling me it would run, but not to drive off. Any reasonable person would think that meant that I could park the car instead of leaving it in the way of cars pulling into the parking lot especially since they just started it and pulled backwards. I sleep in my car so that's why I even asked to have it pulled out, but not with parts missing and STILL low oil. The next morning I was told that I shouldn't of parked it and anything messed up would be on me and very condescendingly. I think they were messing with me because I lived in my car tbh. Which I just can't understand the type of person that would do that. But I recorded convos and taken video and if anything is wrong with the car I'll be calling a lawyer. This was the most bizarre mechanic experience I've ever had. If you have any less than a week for the most basic service in your car forget it. read more
