Horrible service. I've been a member since 2020. My experience with renewing my registration. Was horrible this time around. 2 people checked in after me when I entered to check in. I can hear that it was to renew their registration. They came in to the waiting and sat down right after. However, even though I checked in before them I was passed over twice and waited a lot longer than it should have been. The front desk person was not friendly at all and when I confronted her about the situation she gave me an excuse that didn't make no sense at all, and turned around and walk away. I have no idea why it's like this now. They didn't even seem like they wanted to help. It wasn't even busy. Is there like a benefit for having a better membership? Very unfortunate. Is the owner of the vehicle a member?? Yes... I replied. I explained to them I'm paying registration for my mother who has cancer and is unable to come here. Customer service 5/5 Juan greeted me once it was my turn in line at the front reception desk. He signed me up via text to receive notification and let me know when it was my turn at the next window. The wait time stated was 45 minutes. So, I let him know I'd be running to a few places within the large multi sectioned shopping plaza. I kept my phone handy so I would not miss the notification. During this time I went to Sally's beauty supply, Dollar Tree, Eyebrow Hub & the ATM. Chipotle being my last stop as it was right across the lot. It's a free minutes past the 45 minute mark and still no text it's my turn. I go inside and inquire, only to be told they were calling my name and that they'd get to me next. I showed them my phone o o f how I never got a text stating I'd be next in line. Epic fail! I received the initial text that I'd be placed in the Que. Nonetheless, I was called next. Kim was very helpful with the services I needed. Unfortunately, I'll need to make a second trip to complete everything since I legally changed my name and have to wait until a fee clears before we can finalize my transaction. My neighbor across the street rammed into my parked van on my own driveway. My next door neighbor witnessed & heard the impact. My front bumper was damaged & their Toyota Corolla was badly damaged on their left & rear bumpers. It's already been 3 weeks & nothing has been done & no follow-up information from person who took in my claim. I had to call & was told that he couldn't get hold of my neighbor who hit my car. I was told that they cannot force the person & that I had to file under my own. I have to do the leg work. I'm paying a lot for this car insurance & this is the service I get? I even told him that I have AAA & so does the other person. When I called him after two weeks, he said he didn't know I had AAA insurance. Told him that was the first information I provided. Not happy with AAA. Today I had my daughter go to AAA to apply handicap placard as I am physically unable to. I was told the other day she could bring the paperwork in and they would process it, but would mail me the placard when she went in they told her I had to be there in person so they can look and make sure I was not faking. They said I could come and they would come out of the car and look . Just talked to someone I believe named Dave and he said the first person I talk to when I called was incorrect. Been going here over the years to get my family and I's vehicle registration renewals and other DMV services. I visited this location yesterday 10/2/23. Before, as soon as you walk in, at the reception area there will be someone that will ask what you are in there for and you will be directed where to line up or wait. There are also clear signs above for the different type of services. But, this visit this time i was asked for my name and was directed where to go. Couldn't have been in and out of there within ten minutes max from the time i walked in, to be called and paid for my vehicle registration renewal. For a Monday, there were a steady amount of people walking in but yet the service I received was very convenient, fast and efficient and I was able to be helped very quickly. To be able to utilize the DMV services you would have to be a AAA member. You would need to show your AAA current (not expired) membership card and your driver license and any paperwork. No one likes going to the DMV so next time you need DMV services visit your nearest AAA branch. I highly recommend. Also, plenty of parking. 10/10 overall. read more

I had to get my registration renewed. Being able to use the DMV services at AAA is SUCH a blessing. This was my first time to this location since I moved here 2 yrs ago and I will definitely be back. I went in on a Saturday and was hoping I didn't have to wait too long. When I arrived, the front door was opened for me and I was greeted by the nicest gentlemen. He asked what I needed, and showed me to a comfortable spot, and told me someone would be with in 10 min or less. He was right. Aunt is member of AAA which allows DMV renewals and it's the closet office to her home which made it easy to get too, just not the friendliest lady working on the right side of the DMV processing booth . I want to preface this review by saying that staff are friendly and helpful, and I do believe they are doing the best they can without outside input, and that some of the problems I have may be with corporate or just with lack of understanding of common issues that pop up during Covid. The good: I was in and out in 28 minutes. The staff were very kind. It seemed like they were only letting 3 groups people inside the building at a time. Hand sanitizer was available at the door and I was greeted and the door held open for me when I entered, so I would not have to touch it. That accounts for only four minutes of the experience though. The rest of the time was spent standing in line, on concrete with no chairs. 20 minutes isn't long for me, but I did see a couple of people with blue placards who were sent to the regular line without being offered a place to sit. I did finally see two chairs at the front but it wasn't labeled as being available for those who need a rest or if it was for staff. Please consider labeling the chairs and moving them to a location where they can be easily seen. Home Depot is right down the street and you have concrete dividers, it would be easy to attach the aluminum tube chairs to the concrete dividers with some chain, still maintain social distancing and give people a place to sit. please don't make people ask for it. Alternately, why not have a ticket system and a bullhorn and whiteboard? When people arrive they can get a ticket and go sit in their cards. Then you call the number and write it on the whiteboard. No one needs to stand in line, and can reduce their exposure by staying in the car until they absolutely need to move. Also, the restrooms are closed which is an accessibility issue as well. I want to make this clear that I am not saying a this is a legal issue, it's just waiting in line for 24 minutes might be the difference between someone having an accident, and not. I will pressure corporate to pay for extra cleaning. Finally, I'm in a position where I may be experiencing a lay-off this fall. I asked if I could possibly pay my renewal (which auto pays in November) early because I am unsure of when the layoff is coming and I have the money now. They said no. Kindly and politely of course, but still the world is struggling right now, maybe change your polices to help people. read more

Discriminates against disabled people who cannot drive. A disabled friend was released from the hospital to my wife and my care. The person has been unable to get a driver's license for several years and therefore has no car and no AAA membership. After being in the hospital this person requires the use of a walker and my wife and I who are AAA members for over 30 years will be the primary drivers as they recover. AAA Vallejo requires the disabled person to have a membership even though they cannot operate a vehicle and AAA will not allow the membership of the drivers to qualify for using their DMV services. read more

I recently had to call AAA in Vallejo for a battery issue on a 5 year old battery that I had purchased from them. The response time was exceptional and the service person arrived sooner than expected. He did a great job of testing my old battery and finding that there was corrosion on the positive terminal. For piece of mind I decided to purchase a new battery. He was very professional and kept me informed on everything he was doing to test my old battery and then also when he installed the new battery. He even installed new battery posts even though only one of them was in bad shape. I was very impressed with the fast and timely service I received as well as the knowledge and experience of the technician that did the work. This pertains to their travel services. After rejoining AAA after many years I decided to use their travel services due to some recent advertising on TV. The lady who helped us was pleasant enough but I left not completely happy. First she checked flight fares and pulled up a cost that seemed to be double what it should be. We asked about another airline which ended up being half the cost.. We were charged a booking fee which is fair. (my wife used to a travel agent) We then proceeded to booking hotel rooms ... now over the years traveling I had seen the AAA approved decal on the front of many hotels. I expected to get an online preview of them but was instead taken to hotels.com where we selected hotels and rooms all of which were booked under the AAA email so we got zero credit to our free hotel rooms for booking 10. (to be fair they need to make some money somewhere on them) In between the ancient Apollo software creaked out pages we will have to carry with us during the trip versus looking up a site on our phone.. Finally we had a rental car reservation at a rate much higher than available online. To be fair we were told this and that we could cancel our reservation and book a better one on our own. The advantage of the experience was me and my wife could view the computer reservation screen at the same time and make our booking decisions together. The disappointing part was that the reservation choices we were given were the same we could do online at home . read more
