Doing yourself is cheaper but it only cost a little more to get expert help. Overall good visit, even when we had to come back and get another copy after the first one got rejected for a mistake at dmv/ AAA. The manager Steven Prater is the most unprofessional manager. I came to this location. on several occasions when I visits this location his energy just downplays the business. In my opinion, he have no leadership skills. Very negative always mad, angry, upset, and frustrated. I will almost think that he's a racist. If these are the type of people you guys hire for management positions. This location is doomed. For the ladies of this location. they're always positive, helpful,happy ,patient , and resourceful even on a bad day. Just got back from a very pleasant visit at the Fedex Vallejo on Admiral Callaghan Street. I had tried 30 minutes earlier at a UPS Store to print out a 16" x 20" picture (small poster size) from a jpeg. They couldn't do it, but said I could convert the picture to a pdf and print it out on legal copy paper. So now it's after 6 pm on a Friday and I really want to get this done before the end of the day. Called the Vallejo Fedex Store and was told by Miriam it would be no problem. Got there by 6:30 (awesome they were open until 7:00). She pulls out a large binder with the different photo paper I could choose from. Steve the Manager finds joy with denying shipping service to customer. I brought in a pre-paid box to ship out and was helped by the store manager. After receiving the box, the manager informed me that there was a dangerous sticker lable on the box. I had no idea what it meant but said there were no dangerous items inside. I was merely reusing a cardboard box. Manager asked what the contents were inside. I replied motorcycle clothing. He said that even if were to take off the outter dangerous goods lable, I still could not have the store ship out the box, so I'm not sure why he even asked me what was inside if that's the case. As a manager there were 2 options: 1. Open the box to verify what I was saying, and remove lable to ship out. Fedex gets paid and I get my box shipped to were it needs to go. 2. Pretend option 1 didn't exist and tell me it wasn't possible to accept my package be cause at one point the box was used to send something dangerous. Fedex doesn't get paid and I get my time and effort wasted coming in. Option 1 provides a solution to the customer and protects FedEx from anything potentially dangerous. Option 2 takes pleasure in denying shipping solution and inconveniencing the customer, in the rain no less. Person IN CHARGE actually chose Option 2. Caucasian male, late 30's early 40's. I know and recognize individuals with this "how can I make things harder" mindset. If you'd like X then I'm going to say no and offer Y. The manager above definitely displayed this mindset. I can only imagine what the employees have to deal with, with him managing their day to day ops. Couldn't manage his way out of a wet brown paper bag with a pair of scissors in each hand. I had an emergency situation where I needed to print a couple of things for a party I was having this past Saturday. When I arrived I knew I just wanted to self print but I also wanted to do labels. I called ahead and the young lady told me the labels have to be done behind the counter and I may have to purchase a pack of labels. I did purchase a pack of labels thinkingbit will be cheaper getting them outside of the FedEx store so I did but when I arrived I didn't have to labels so I was going to go ahead and purchase a packet- only needed three sheets of labels- but I needed them right away. The young lady behind the counter was so helpful she searched out found labels that would fit the job; allowed me to send her the label document; and she printed them for me. I was a little flustered but she comped them and that was a wonderful wonderful blessing I appreciate her she didn't have a name tag on but she was a very sweet African-American young lady a beautiful bouncy curly hair and I tremendously grateful for her I need to find her and buy her some Starbucks. read more

Went into Fed Ex today and the young African American employee was running the show while her coworker was busy assisting customers with their copies and faxes and manager was out to lunch. She has a positive attitude, assisted four different customers all at the same time and never let the customer see her sweat even if she was feeling it. Kemy, the manager is super helpful and has showed me twice how to package and prepare my shipment. They are a great team and it was pleasant to watch their dynamic while in line to witness how a great well oiled machine can operate. If I had my own company, I would recruit that young lady. Several months ago I purchased a new iPhone and, as I had done many times before, I wanted to recycle my old one which was in excellent condition and receive credit with an Apple gift card. Previously, Apple would send packaging to forward it back to them. This time the only way besides going to an Apple Store was to have FedEx send it so I went to this location and watched them pack it in a box. About a week later I received an email stating that the screen was cracked and no longer eligible for the $140 credit. Apple was unable to help me with this and suggested that I take it up with FedEx. After checking their website I decided not to pursue the matter as there was no way to prove through their intensive paperwork that they did anything wrong as they didn't check the condition of the phone that I was returning. Next time I will make the trip to the Walnut Creek Apple Store from Vallejo instead of trusting this store to package and send my Apple Products. read more

I shipped a return package from this location to Samsung. I packed the package myself with a smart watch inside. I handed it to the rep behind the counter, who said he'd tape it up for me. I received an email from Samsung five days later that the package arrived empty with a video showing them opening an empty package. The packaging was all there, but the watch was gone. I went back to this FedEx location, and the guys working close to closing time there said no one who fit the description of the person behind the counter who took my package worked there. I thanked them and asked for the store managers name. The next day, I went back earlier and spoke to Steve. He immediately exclaimed that no one at his store would steal the item (even though I hadn't suggested that), and I needed to leave and go file a claim with FedEx (which I had already done). He was extremely argumentative and rude. I asked if there was a video he could look at to confirm the person who took the package from behind the desk, who the other staff said didn't work there. Steve refused. There were a couple other people standing in line who overheard this conversation. I told Steve he was a poor store manager if he wasn't taking a customer's theft complaint seriously. I turned to the other two folks and told them to be careful and they should wrap their boxes themselves. Steve then took a step toward me and jerked both of his hands up as if he was going to push or grab me. He got smart and stopped himself and stormed off. I won't be using this location anymore. I don't want to put trust in a place for shipping valuable items whose store management treats their customers so poorly, threatenly, and dismisses obvious problems happening at FedEx generally without a care. The "Big Man" manager Steven is an egotistical idiot. I came in to drop off an International Fedex shipment. We ship FEDEX regularly and international shipments DAILY. Steven came over and did not like the look of our commercial invoice. He is either on a power trip and wants to feel that he is in control, or is simply a lousy employee with little Fedex knowledge. I wasn't going to argue with him. I left with my international package, and dropped it at another Fedex location 20 minutes away who went over the paperwork and had ZERO issue with it. Unfortunately, in todays world where any employee will do, it leaves lousy employees like Steven still employed. This time, Fedex overcharged me. I have a receipt of $102. They charged me on my card $200 and $23 for a shipment I've always paid about $102 to deliver the same product to the same location. FedEx Revenue Services replied,"Charges are not based on an estimate but on actual package size, weight and/or service type, including charged for declared value and fuel surcharge. I paid close to $20 just to have some documents scanned to a PDF. I did so because they were very important documents, and I wanted to have record of them before I mailed them off. After paying for this service, I went to the post office, mailed off the documents and threw away my Kinko's receipt. When I got home and looked on my flash drive, there was no file! I called the store and spoke to Brandon the manager. He said without a receipt he couldn't help me -- end of story. Even if I could provide my credit card statement and have the employee who helped me, verify the service I had done -- it didn't matter, no attempt at a resolution made and zero empathy.
