My child with autism was recently discharged from the speech therapy solely because she reached an age cutoff. (she is only 15), despite her clear and ongoing need for speech and communication support. Speech therapy is a long-term necessity for autistic children, not something they "outgrow" at specific age. The age should never be a factor in determining whether an autistic teenager receives speech therapy! All autistic children/teenagers are at different levels when it comes to speech. The fact that even the owner of the company was not able to help is incredibly disheartening. Dropping a child from therapy due to age rather than her actual progress is unacceptable and unethical! The therapist just handed me a piece of paper with a list of places to call that offer social group settings for my child which I did has not been successful. Most of these places that I contacted have long wait lists for speech therapy. So now my child is stuck, I am going through a lot of hassle and stress, and Speakeasy is a big Disappointment! This company is failing the autism community, unfortunately!

My son looks forward to seeing her each week. I love that they use neurodiverse-affirming play-based therapy techniques, so the kids are active and engaged. They were clear, honest, and professional from the start. They told me what to expect and followed through. We were able to get an assessment after 2-3 months and once assessed, able to get appointments right away. We like our therapist, Jennifer, who is bright and kind and always ready with a smile. My daughter does seem to be speaking more, along with going to preschool, her language abilities have widely expanded since 6 months ago when she started. Appointments are only 30 minutes though and parents are expected to wait in the waiting room. Which is fine b/c 30 minutes go by fast. They also have tissue and plenty of seating, some in a sunny area, which is very nice. But realistically the appointments are closer to 25 minutes. I wish they were longer since it's a drive for us but overall I'm happy with her progress and feel confident about coming here.

I felt like we could get way more out of our therapy. I'm so happy we found The Speech House! My son receives speech/feeding, occupational, and physical therapies. We could not be happier. The therapists are exceptional at tailoring your child's therapy session to the child, and not just doing a cookie cutter session. My son LOVES going to therapy and LOVES his therapists. Everyone Maria hires lives up to her standards of being helpful, effective, genuine, compassionate and knowledgeable and we appreciate that. HORRIBLE STAFF & OWNER. THEY WILL SCREW YOUR CHILDREN OVER. RUN!!!!…read more Hi Lorrie, We have waived the fees for the evaluations because of the situation so you will not be financially responsible for the evaluations that were already conducted. When Colleen informed you that the boys are "good to go," she was referring to us having a script and having all paperwork completed. We are out of network and you know this information as you have received services with us in the past as well and you know we are out of network. INFORMATION FOR PARENTS: My son hadn't been at Speech House for a long time. The owner (Maria) took a 2-month break. We had a 7-year treatment history with her. After her request she rarely answered emails. I tried to start services again, she would say we could start soon, disappear again, and then lie about not getting emails. This was not only affecting my child, but incredibly disrespectful. I finally gave up. Over a year later the occupational therapist for BOTH my boys tells me she is transferring from her current company to Speech House in 2 months and transferring clients with her. She been our therapist for years. This is when I'm also told the owner (Maria) now has an army of office staff. I realize she's been spending her time creating a puppy mill business. This was her concern instead her clients. I'm also offered speech again with us moving over, but with a different therapist. For the next two month's the OT keeps telling me everything is "good to go" according to Speech House. We are asked to get referrals from our pediatrician and provided our insurance information. I'm never contacted further by the office. Then the day before the change my insurance calls to let me know this company is OUT of network THE SAME DAY authorization is sent by Speech House. Knowing this beforehand they said nothing. They waited until the day before the change to send this to our insurance! Later the owner (above) attempts to blame parents for not knowing who she is currently contract with for insurance. At the time when my insurance called, I immediately reached out to the Speech House. They casually offered to switch to "cash pay" for $600 monthly, like it's no big deal. I was placed in a horrible position. Do this or loose services. You can wait a year or more to replace lost therapy. I have two boys and two different therapies now at stake. But I had no choice but to decline cash paying. Only then did they offer to do a letter of agreement with my insurance so they would be paid as "in network. But they wanted me to do it for them. I stop my workday to spend hours dealing with the situation. Our insurance then advised I could not negotiate an agreement on behalf of Speech House. Plus, the current authorization must be canceled. A letter of agreement cannot be done if out of network service is authorized. I call Speech House again and provide this information to contact our carrier directly. I get an attitude as if I'm putting them out after putting me in this situation. An approval response is 10 days. I'm told they will handle this. Our OT then calls the office as well to follow up and was discouraged from being involved. Two weeks later I get an email telling me to approve the previous authorization again, which I remind them that's approving cash pay and a letter of agreement was to be requested. The next week I'm sent another email stating BOTH my children's spots for OT AND SPEECH were given away and have a nice day. I was shocked. The owner then explains they are not "obligated" to do a letter of agreement, but they will not send me a bill!!! Then I realize a letter of agreement was never requested with our insurance. They just kept pushing for an authorization to cash pay and then canceled my boys services instead. They also cannot legally send a bill when we NEVER had services with Speech house AND the speech therapist never saw my son. If you enjoy dealing with a company who is dishonest, rude, has no accountability for their actions, runs a puppy mill for money over children, dealing with the owner Maria who has no moral compass, being blamed for their negligence, or screwing over your special needs children for at least a year.... this is your place!!! Thank you for being so amazing Speech House!!!

I was hesitant, but her words and character truly made me feel like she believed in the therapists there and genuinely cared. I decided to bring my little one in, and from the very beginning, Anna and Erica at the front desk were so kind, welcoming, and sweet. We then began therapy with Ms. Lindsey, and I cannot express enough how grateful I am for her. Ms. Lindsey has worked diligently to truly learn and understand my son. She does not treat him in a cookie-cutter way. She acknowledges his individuality, uniqueness, and specific needs. She pays close attention to what works for him and what does not, and she treats him with genuine love, patience, and care. I have personally told these amazing individuals that they have brought tears of happiness to my eyes and joy to my heart seeing how much my baby's speech has improved, along with his ability to express himself and communicate more confidently. I truly cannot express my gratitude enough. Let's Talk Southwest is amazing, and I would recommend them 100 times over. They genuinely believe in what they do, and it shows when you see your child progressing and achieving goals. I am so thankful Anna convinced me to try again. Thank you, Anna. Thank you, Erica. The wait time to be evaluated was lengthy (four months?) but that is pretty typical in Vegas, unfortunately. But since then, things have been great. Our evaluation found that she wasn't speech delayed but they were able to provide services for vocabulary, they handled insurance issues for us and we've been regularly going weekly for about five months - Maria B is excellent. She's so kind and gentle with the littles, and their therapy setup is play-based, so my daughter always has fun and enjoys going. My husband and I have alternated accompanying her to be able to pick up on the strategies and prompts that the therapist uses with her, to replicate at home, and we think that has really helped. We're likely reaching the end of our time here as a reevaluation is coming up and she's made a ton of progress. We've made friends with some of the other parents with weekly appointments around the same time, and interacted with some of their other speech (Jenn subbed for us once) and OT therapists and everyone here has been so friendly and professional. Early intervention is key so if you even remotely suspect an issue with your child, get a referral ASAP.

This happened about two months ago…read more Went to my 2 year old son's appointment at 9am, my husband came with us (who came straight from night shift work) since it's our son's first speech appointment. The frontdesk checked us in. I was wondering since my son is a new patient, no paperworks was given but I didn't bother to ask. We patiently waited then I noticed couple of patients was called and there we are still waiting. My poor husband was taking a power nap while waiting. Then my son started to get bored. It's 9:35am, so I went to the frontdesk and ask. She went to the office behind her and spoke to the therapist. Front desk lady came back and said the therapist's computer is broken that is why they have not called us and would like to reschedule the appointment for next week. I'm like what?? I called my husband and he got frustrated. He should be sleeping by now. And my poor son should still be sleeping. We came for an early appointment. Be professional if you are professionals. We asked for the therapist so we could talk to her. When she came, she just said "Hi. How may I help you?" I was thinking really you don't know what is happening after the front desk already spoke to you? And you in the first place should know you have a patient that you are seeing at 9am. But being a professional myself, I controlled my emotion and just introduce myself, my husband and my son who has appointment at 9, but it's already 9:35 and no one bother to tell us what is happening. We were just waiting here for nothing. And to think she had an appointment at 8:30 with another patient, all of a sudden her computer is broken? Can she not use another computer? Why they did not tell us earlier? We were really disappointed. We would understand if they said she's with another patient and she's behind. She didn't even bother to introduce her self. I was the one who asked who she is. Her name is Donna. They ended up rescheduling us. We left the office with frustrations. We went straight to my son's pediatricians office and asked if there is any other speech therapy who can see us in the valley. Unfortunately, this office is the only one who is affiliated with our insurance. I called the office and tried to get a different appointment/therapist. They were able to fit my son into a different therapist Erica and said she's one of the owners. So we made it to our appointment the following week, signed in and I was given paperworks to fill out right away. I was wondering why there is paperworks now, last week there was none. I asked the same frontdesk from last week. She said "I don't know". Did not say anything and just started to write on the paper. Then we were called right away by Erica. She is very nice and did a great job with my son. I am so glad that she is my son's therapist and not the first one. I guess everything happens for a reason. Erica is awesome! and she apologized of what happened last week before we head out.
