The owner is suuuper kind and greets you as you enter and you can tell he really cares about his customers. He will let you know if he's busy and around how long to wait. I just gotta hand it to the owner, it sounds like he has a lot of regulars who come in for dosa, lentils, and chai. It smelled good every time he made some dosa! Masala chai: got mine with oat milk (he has to brew a new batch if you want a different milk), he usually uses half and half I believe for his chai. Love the spices! The shop itself is modest in size with a curated selection of cheeses and gourmet foods like charcuterie and specialty chocolate. If you are new to specialty cheeses and looking for an approachable cheese shop to visit and learn more about them, I would recommend Street Cheese.

The shop is located close to a wine store. Talk about perfect pairings. (There's also a fun little store in between the two to poke around.) Courtney and Tailor, the owners, are charming, enthusiastic, and deeply knowledgeable. Thé instructions and information regarding the course was thorough and provided great detail. Just as detailed is their weekly newsletter. Back to the cheese. Courtney was an engaging cheese Sherpa, and guided the class through the various types of cheese, how to pair, cut,, and store them, and then walked us through how to build a cheese plate. We were also given some cheese and little things to nibble on during the class, along with some water. We were provided with three different types, a few accompaniments, and were let loose to start creating. Extremely generous portions with nice containers were thoughtfully provided to take home (or next door to the wine shop). Truly a really fun and informative experience. The variety and sourcing of the cheeses is fantastic, imported from Europe and all over the US. They offer a wide variety of accompaniments, including beverages and cheese paper for storage. And of course, you can try a nibble before purchase. Pricing is extremely fair for the cheese and other store items. Less than I was anticipating, to be honest. I'm thrilled to find European cheeses and support à small business. I will happily return. Go. You won't be disappointed.

I liked their menu is pretty simple and that you can order at the kiosk on your own. If you are running short on time-order ahead the line is long and you will be waiting if you go in during peak hours (like lunchtime). While I loved my sandwich-the service is not great. They call the orders by your name and while they are really busy sometimes with the amount of people in the space and noise level you may miss your name being called. I thought I had heard my name so I went over to peek if it was my order and one of the individuals that was making the sandwiches nearly ripped my head off and YELLED at me and said "its not yours"...."you need to wait for your name to be called"....Well no kidding...I am not new here I was just checking-I did not touch the sandwich. Just plain rude...and I really do not think they care. If you are wiling to ignore getting yelled at and made to feel totally incompetent these are great sandwiches.

I got the combo with chicken adobo, lumpia and pancit, and added a side of a BBQ chicken skewer. The combo itself was eight bucks and the skewer was an additional three bucks, which was a bargain! And the food was yummy, too! Although there wasn't a lot of the egg noodles, the pancit was a combination of bihon and canton styles! Usually, I always see bihon pancit served at Filipino joints, but my favorite has always been the canton since I was a kid (and still remember eating it every year on my birthday for good luck!), so really liked that they did a mix of the noodles. The chicken adobo was solid, as it was tender, but wish it just had a tad more vinegar and soy sauce flavor that you just love with adobo. Lumpia was A-O-K, as it was slightly overfried. But the BBQ chicken skewer was by far, my favorite item. It had crispy edges from the grill, yet was so juicy and tender. It's what you hope BBQ chicken will be, and enjoyed the somewhat-sweet marinade. You can even watch the cooks grilling and flipping over the several skewers right by the stand, tempting all those passing by with the aroma. Get some! There was a long line during the festival, but it went by very fast. Staff was super friendly and even though when I got to the line I was still undecided about which combo I was gonna order, they were patient with me despite the long line forming. Just remember to bring cash here, as they didn't accept cards.

The Kitchen & Market - Madison Valley location is located between Bar Cantinetta and Cafe Flora. It has a limited parking lot and adjacent street parking. I briefly toured the retail shop glancing at all the displays, but exercising restraint. This is truly a high quality, grab and go, treat yourself (+family & friends) neighborhood bodega. I wanted to also compare this site with my visit & experience at the Pike Place Market location. I stopped by the showcase table to sample and savor the meatball, parmesan crisp, and chocolate chip cookie samples provided by a very personable individual. I ended up buying a tub of their pomodoro sauce (same sauce used with meatball sample) and a roast beef sandwich. The latter was savored down by Lake Washington at the Madison Park Beach. Delicious sandwich, would have been perfection if one bread slice was not soggy due to the contents. But the wrapper helped and had napkins in my car. Pomodoro sauce was used with premium al dente radiatore pasta. This yielded a flavorful dish for dinner. I like the concept for pret a porter/meal kit ideas. Price point not for every budget though, however, one is paying for high quality and well curated items. Current sites are located at Seattle's Pike Place Market, Mercer Island (will return after fire damage renovation), Bellevue/Medina, and this new Seattle/Madison Valley site. Future locations will be in Yarrow Bay/Kirkland and Seattle/Eastlake. Minus one star due to soggy bread, challenging parking situation, and ignored twice waiting to pay at the register. Note: Card payment at the register area, no cash accepted.

Chanda cooked for our family of fussy eaters with various allergies for a over a year before we moved away. I was so impressed with their understanding of nutrition and how it impacts health, mood and wellbeing. When chef Chanda took over our kitchen, I could see that my autoimmune illness was better, my husband's cholesterol was lower and my kids were eating a more balanced and nutritious mix of whole foods. I could see that she listened and tailored to fit our needs at every step. The end result was restaurant quality meals every day with ingredients that were hand-picked by her and were guaranteed to be clean and wholesome. This brings huge peace of mind if one suffers with allergies. One might think takeout food is easier, but there is no comparison as you can't scrutinize what goes into your food and for the same cost, with Lemon & Thyme you have a meal that is delicious and healthy to boot. We also found the delivery service invaluable when covid struck. It was reassuring to have her cook and deliver our weekly meals with the high levels of uncertainty all around us. We are grateful she continued to bring us her high quality food, hygienically prepared and safely delivered. She has continued to support us remotely with her meal planning. This has been a great source of help, especially in a new country. In summary, I would unreservedly recommend Lemon & Thyme to anyone who is on a path to wellness or looking to provide better food for themselves!
