Very full and laid back environment. This is most definitely a bar. I am positive the nights are turnt all the way up! Our host was very friendly and greeted us with a big smile and warm hello. We started with a Texas peach ( peach whiskey, iced tea, and a splash of sour), and non alcohol fresh squeezed lime aid. We ordered the brisket and bean which is slow smoked brisket, fire roasted tomatoes and red beans, wings, and chili cheese burger. Seen this on a Seattle Washington place to eat list for their chili and it didn't disappoint! We did the chili sampler which included all four chilis, the grits and the macaroni and cheese. Oh and the tortilla chips! It was great to be able to sample them first as I found a few too spicy for me! All four chilis were delicious but I ended up getting a cup of the beef and bean. My husband got the pork verde chili over macaroni and cheese and loved his. Our server was nice and friendly and let us have our time deciding what we wanted. Lots of seating inside and at the bar. Thoroughly enjoyed this place for lunch today. Extremely cool vibe inside resembling an old Texas roadhouse. The menu is pretty simple as it should be. Burgers, dogs, and everything chili. My chili dog came with their standard Texas red and it was terrific. More than anything I really enjoyed the bartender/server Sam who was extremely friendly and attentive. This is a type of place I could frequent and probably will. Also, there is an indoor and outdoor stage where they have bands most Fridays and Saturdays. This place has a good vibe and food is delicious. But good lord the prices now. I've been coming here since 20-teens, and it was never cheap, but wife and I popped in for the first time in a few years. Chili is 15 a bowl, for the shallowest bowl I ever seen. It felt like a cup, just flattened out and stretched into bowl shape. I couldn't even believe it. Two "bowls", one side of microwaved mac, tip, and credit card surcharge and we're pretty close to $50. Sad to say but this will be our last visit here. read more

I know this place has been on Triple D but I actually saw it on a different TV show. I came in the same day & the Texas Red on top of White Cheddar Grits did not disappoint. The service was great and it's a really nice, quirky, clean space inside. I will be back next time I have a hankering for some sweet beanless chili! read more

I'd heard great things about the quality of the food at Slim's and the raves (Bon Appetite's Top 10 Chili Places, Diner's Drive-In's & Dives, etc.) but had never been. Hubby and I popped in for a sample. Specifically, I had heard the food was higher quality with excellent use of fresh seasonings. The food definitely lived up to the buzz. The place is fun with a casual roadhouse attitude. I had a cocktail while Hubby had a beer. Because I knew of the Bon Appetite rating on the chili--we took our server's suggestion and tried the chili sampler which came with small cups of the four types of chili plus white cheddar grits and jalapeno Mac & Cheese and small chips. Chilis were amazing--Hubby ordered a bowl of the beef brisket and bean chili and some fresh hot corn bread with honey butter. The grits were terrific but that Mac & Cheese (OMG) was amazing--that's a for sure for a future trip. I had the last chance burger with cheese and fries with the house fry sauce. While the burger was a bit more than I usually pay--it was absolutely worth it--huge burger with an excellent generous beef patty and you can taste the quality in the meat for sure. Service was warm, professional and prompt. We were in at lunchtime and saw some local celebrities--never a bad sign. The colorful interior, service and food are a great reason to return. read more

Absolutely fantastic! My husband and I each had a cocktail and we shared an order of chili cheese fries. I had the Huckleberry Hound cocktail which was spot on. Huckleberry vodka, cranberry and limeade. Cool, refreshing, and not too sweet. Hubby had a Jagermeister and it was nice and cold, just the way he likes it. So many places don't chill it, if they carry it at all. The chili cheese fries? EPIC! We got the Texas Red chili. All ground beef, no beans, and perfectly seasoned. A pleasant little kick, but very eatable and won't burn your mouth off. We opted for chopped onions on top and a side of sour cream which has a bit of chives mixed in, and possibly other greenery but I'm not sure. And the fries themselves were amazing. Size cut in good proportion to the chili and CRISPY as hell! Dang! Cannot wait to go back and try more cocktails, fries with dip sauce, burger, chili dog, and the wedge salad! read more

We wanted to check this place out having seen it on Diners Drive Ins and Dives. With all of the hype, we had very high expectations for this place. We ordered the Texas Red, Green Chile, and Brisket and Beans.I have had many different types of chilis in my life and was incredibly disappointed by all three flavors. All three bowls were terrible. Slim's surprised me with their tasty jalapeño Mac n cheese, and cheesy grits!! They both were really good! I had my cheese fixings for the week in one evening lol. I'm pretty picky with both macaroni and grits but they both get a thumbs up from me! I do wish they had a vegetarian chili. I could only imagine how it would taste with the grits or macaroni, since they have a couple dishes with the combination of the two. But I am thankful they had vegetarian options (that were really delicious) in general so I am not complaining! The bartender was really nice, and patient with our big group for a birthday. Also I enjoyed the blackberry limeade it was juicy and the right amount of strong. The bathroom is pretty cool with all the fun stickers everywhere, and rustic lockers. Very dive bar vibes. Came here with a couple great friends to have lunch. They had been here a number of times before, but this was my first time. The food and service was good. It took extra time for my buddy's meal to come out, but seemed worth the wait (he cleaned his plate). My "Last Chance Burger with pepper-jack and bacon" was just what I needed. The fries that came with it were heavily seasoned mostly in a good way. To me they were delicious and riding that line of too much salt. Having a sauce (aioli) with it tamped that down to the perfect flavor. I want to come back again very soon. Maybe I'll have the chili they are famous for. Came here during the week for a work lunch. The service was quick despite it being busy. The decor is really interesting and gives off dive bar vibes. We ordered some grits, salad, and wings. The wings was not quite spicy but had almost a light smoked paprika kick. The grits was so comforting and not overly greasy. I would definitely recommend coming here because although I ate pretty rich foods it did not make me feel bogged down after. read more

Learned the Pig Iron is closing their doors and, although this is a bar, they offer some great food. Tried a cup each of the Brisket n' Bean, with onion and cheese, and the Chili Verde with sour cream and chives. Love them both along with some corn bread and honey, Service was very good as well. However, the food is really good and cannot be missed. Lots of memorabilia from east Texas and Oklahoma, so if one had a hankering for missing home then this is the place. My dining partners wedge salad was "ok" but the crawfish bites were drowned in buffalo sauce to the point they "couldn't taste the crawfish" We took one picture of a stuffed cat (fake!) with an upside down head. Came in here for a quick dinner on a Monday night. Total dive bar, eclectic crowd, generally friendly. I had a PBR draft which was cold, but flat. Also ordered Buffalo wings which were surprisingly good! Sauce was a little too sweet, but the wings were smoked and then fried, which is a great way to prepare them. Looks like this place offers plenty to do, with bar games, a pool table, ample patio space, and a stage for live acts outside. I bet it gets going later in the evenings. read more

I meet a buddy here occasionally for drinks and a meal. The bar and it's employees are a little rough around the edges in a very excellent and Seattle kind of way, which I like and I'm sure they take pride in. The clientele are a diverse bunch who mix like they've known each other for years. The live music is great, patio large, refreshing, and the chili has got to be amongst the best in the city. This is a dive bar in the industrial part of Seattle, just a few streets over from Corps of Engineers and the Federal Center. The place has some pool tables, a full bar, outside seating with a stage, and some great art on the walls. Very rockabilly dive bar vibe. You could probably drink a handful of PBRs here on a Friday night while listening to a band with a guy playing a stand up bass. Just a hunch. We ordered the wings and the Snake River Kobe Chili Cheese Dog. The dog had a ton of house made chili and a nice big kobe beef sausage. The dog itself had a nice flavor but the chili was bland. It had all the great makings for an awesome chili, but had basically no spice. The wings were perfect and had a great spicy and sticky sauce that had just enough sweetness. The wings had a ton of meat on them as well. The staff was very friendly and the place had immaculate bathrooms. Seriously clean! Check this place out! I suffered a flat across the street from this fine establishment and was fortunate it was open. While waiting for the tow truck saw Slims Last Chance was open. Outside the place doesn't scream 4-5 stars but go in. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and several whisky doubles. The food was great, their whiskey selection is surprisingly good for a "hole in the wall" bar and life was good waiting for my tow. Slim's has the best restaurant chili that I've ever had! My brother and I went here for lunch on the last day of a trip to the PNW and we loved it. At lunch time, there was hardly anyone there so we got our food really quickly. It was fairly priced and tasted so good. I know they have other food and I'm sure it is amazing but brisket chilli and corn bread so good that people from Texas want their secret, why eat anything else? Love these small bars that sell real food especially real burgers So my thoughts, it's not very big but they do have real good food but there is one negative I had the Last chance burger and fries So they advertise this as a 1/2lb fresh seasoned Hamburger, I have been to a lot of burger places and the burger was really good tasted like a real hamburger the fries were good as well, they even have the boxes of potato's stacked in the back sitting area So the only downside is they advertise it as a 1/2lb but I would say it's a 1/4lb maybe a little more at best defiantly not worth $13.75 price at that size Beer prices are good they had some good Mexican beer on sale the day I went for $2 in a bottle I had 3 with my burger Anyway I do recommend this place I just think you should look at the photos here before you order, next time I come I'll get a better picture of the burger read more

So me and wifey are big chili fans and on our way to Seattle we went on the prowl for some bomb chili and oh did we find it. No kids please, its 21 and over, theres a full bar there too. The ambience was a cross between a punk/biker bar, totally cool atmosphere. I ordered the red been chili with cheese and it was super good!! Wifey order the green chili and she enjoyed her meal as well. Its about a 15 minute drive from downtown Seattle, street parking only so you may have to drive around the block a few times, we didn't have an issue with that. The server was very friendly and checked up on us a few times, we drink a lot of water with our meals so always need a refill. You taste the well smoked pork, the amazing NM green chili and just a variety of spices. I liked it so much I ordered a to go. Friend got the hotdog with the texas red chili. They also have burgers you can order it with. Venue is simple. Large bar, several round tables, and an outdoor patio. Location is on SW side of downtown near all the shipping ports. I'm a fan of divey bars. I'm a fan of chili. I'm a fan of live music. This place has it all, including well-tattooed (on my night female) bartenders and interesting music. I didn't try the chili, but heard that it was tasty (but also was told the serving size didn't match the price). But it was cool to be introduced to some cool local music, like the Delstroyers and Muerte Men -- the former doing some smooth, dark surf creep, the latter doing creative and more complex surf creep. I never knew what surf creep was before that night, but it took me to a place where I wanted to stand up and dance like I was in Pulp Fiction. If only my Pabst got me there in body rather than just mind. Bottom line: You already know Georgetown is a (wonderfully) gritty place, and Slim's fits in well and provides all you could desire. read more

I love dive bars. And every once in a while you find a dive bar with kick ass vibes, food and service, and Slims is one of those places. We had the hand cut French fries and fry sauce. Probably some of the best seasoned fries I've ever had. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside. Yum. I had the wings which were LARGE (I didn't know drummies could be so big) and saucy with just the right amount of heat and smoke. If I had a complaint is that the napkis are to small and thin. I think I used 132 napkins eating my saucy wings. We also had brisket and beans. It came out rather coolish and we asked them to microwave them a bit to heat them up. They don't have a microwave...omg. so they heated them the conventional method and the food was amazing. Could have been spicier and was full of great flavors. Can't believe it has been almost 3 years since I was here last. Seems like 2 max! Anyhoo, not quite as enamored as I was the first time. Brought hubby here this time. DDD showed the rerun of Guy's visit last night & hubs wanted to go today!!! Got there at about 5pm. The bar was full but there were plenty of tables open. Scored a nice parking spot on the side street. The parking lot in the back had some large puddles & mud & gravel. Hubby loves Po Boys so we split the crawfish po boy first. Not impressed. Too saucy & not very big. Good fries though. Hubs ordered a bowl of the Texas Red with a dollop of sour cream & chives. I tried a couple of bites. I know if I ate the whole thing I'd have heartburn for days! It was crying for some plain saltine crackers, cheese & onions. I think it's a little crazy to pay $8.25 for a small bowl of chili & then have to pay an extra $1 for a little shredded cheese. :( I got the HH $3.50 Frito Pie. I had it with the turkey chili. Not enough chili to make a judgment on it. :( Plenty of fritos though. I very easily could have ordered another one but did not. Service was good enough. A little slow but not horrible.
