    Chili Dog. Awesome.
    Jim B.

Thoroughly enjoyed this place for lunch today. Extremely cool vibe inside resembling an old Texas roadhouse. The menu is pretty simple as it should be. Burgers, dogs, and everything chili. My chili dog came with their standard Texas red and it was terrific. More than anything I really enjoyed the bartender/server Sam who was extremely friendly and attentive. This is a type of place I could frequent and probably will. Also, there is an indoor and outdoor stage where they have bands most Fridays and Saturdays. I'll have to check that out sometime.

    Brisket N ' Bean Chili--terrific!

I'd heard great things about the quality of the food at Slim's and the raves (Bon Appetite's Top 10 Chili Places, Diner's Drive-In's & Dives, etc.) but had never been. Hubby and I popped in for a sample. Specifically, I had heard the food was higher quality with excellent use of fresh seasonings. The food definitely lived up to the buzz. The place is fun with a casual roadhouse attitude. I had a cocktail while Hubby had a beer. Because I knew of the Bon Appetite rating on the chili--we took our server's suggestion and tried the chili sampler which came with small cups of the four types of chili plus white cheddar grits and jalapeno Mac & Cheese and small chips. Chilis were amazing--Hubby ordered a bowl of the beef brisket and bean chili and some fresh hot corn bread with honey butter. The grits were terrific but that Mac & Cheese (OMG) was amazing--that's a for sure for a future trip. I had the last chance burger with cheese and fries with the house fry sauce. While the burger was a bit more than I usually pay--it was absolutely worth it--huge burger with an excellent generous beef patty and you can taste the quality in the meat for sure. Service was warm, professional and prompt. We were in at lunchtime and saw some local celebrities--never a bad sign. The colorful interior, service and food are a great reason to return.

I know this place has been on Triple D but I actually saw it on a different TV show. I came in the same day & the Texas Red on top of White Cheddar Grits did not disappoint. The service was great and it's a really nice, quirky, clean space inside. I will be back next time I have a hankering for some sweet beanless chili!

A "cup" of Texas Red with the works. (I took a bite out of the blistered jalapeño)

This place is always a treat. From PBR in a jar to the Texas Red chili with the works and top that off with fast friendly service...is there another place in seattle for lunch???

Absolutely fantastic! My husband and I each had a cocktail and we shared an order of chili cheese fries. I had the Huckleberry Hound cocktail which was spot on. Huckleberry vodka, cranberry and limeade. Cool, refreshing, and not too sweet. Hubby had a Jagermeister and it was nice and cold, just the way he likes it. So many places don't chill it, if they carry it at all. The chili cheese fries? EPIC! We got the Texas Red chili. All ground beef, no beans, and perfectly seasoned. A pleasant little kick, but very eatable and won't burn your mouth off. We opted for chopped onions on top and a side of sour cream which has a bit of chives mixed in, and possibly other greenery but I'm not sure. And the fries themselves were amazing. Size cut in good proportion to the chili and CRISPY as hell! Dang! Cannot wait to go back and try more cocktails, fries with dip sauce, burger, chili dog, and the wedge salad!

Good food, service is quick, and the ambiance is a punk rock vibe. I got the Texas chili and my dad got the brisket chili-both we got with cheddar grits (IMHO this is the way to go. We got there around 2:30 on a Saturday which was nice cause it wasn't busy at all.

Came here during the week for a work lunch. The service was quick despite it being busy. The decor is really interesting and gives off dive bar vibes. We ordered some grits, salad, and wings. The wings was not quite spicy but had almost a light smoked paprika kick. The grits was so comforting and not overly greasy. I would definitely recommend coming here because although I ate pretty rich foods it did not make me feel bogged down after.

Great dive bar. The definition of "hole in the wall", as it is nested between to building so don't blink or you will miss it. The food was food, the hand cut fries are super great. Serve was attentive and pleasant.

Came here while in the area with my wife and friend. Great atmosphere, Lots of people inside and laughter. This is chili bar, so be prepared for a no frills menu. However, the food is really good and cannot be missed. Lots of memorabilia from east Texas and Oklahoma, so if one had a hankering for missing home then this is the place. Ohh and the free jukebox is amazing. Just play what you want and there ya go.

Mixed reviews by my party of two. The Frito Pie topped with cheddar cheese was excellent and the serving size was perfect. My dining partners wedge salad was "ok" but the crawfish bites were drowned in buffalo sauce to the point they "couldn't taste the crawfish" We took one picture of a stuffed cat (fake!) with an upside down head. If this kind of decor offends you best to look somewhere else. For me it was amusing in an odd way - that and because one of the servers thought we were inquiring about her co-worker. Too funny.

Brisket chili, cornbread with honey butter and a 7&7.

So sad but this place is good food but so g*# expensive I will not come back. Dive bar vibe with 3$$$. Not going back, can't afford it.

By the end, I respectfully was hoping our waitress would adopt me and I'm literally 25 I mean just the NICEST people I've literally ever met (especially in Seattle where service is not always the most fun). Shout out to Jen and everyone on that team, it felt like we had stepped into a diner breakfast dream the place is also soooo super cutie, really gives that diner vibe but in a much cheekier way. 100000/10 like WILL be going back every chance I get! The restaurant was about half full when we arrived but was packed by 7pm when they have trivia game night on Monday evenings. The menu has many vegan and vegetarian options as it was originally a vegan restaurant. One of us ordered the bacon cheeseburger with vegan cheese and three ordered Banh Mi Salad, which was a dinner special. Two selected the grilled chicken as protein and one selected the grilled tofu. The burger was juicy and delicious. The salads were excellent. One of the best salads I have had, unique. The marinaded chicken was grilled perfectly. The pickled vegetables were an excellent acid complement for the salad with sesame dressing. Definitely a local favorite. Enjoyed the relaxed vibe of the restaurant. Server was very helpful in answering questions about allergies. Greatly appreciated. Highly recommended for great healthy food options, a good time and a chilled and relaxing evening!

Especially to try out the Vegan Brunch options, so Both of us are born and raised in Seattle and witnessed so many changes happening in this neighborhood alone from people coming all over to create a home in our homestate and home city ... This brought back happy memories and now additional moments to join in and find a source of peace and happiness along with a great meal and staff Thank you so much Nicole ... Not sure about the other reviews or what may have been the issues there, But I wanted to make a point and my willingness to support local businesses that hire great people it truly makes a business long lasting and ... we both ... hope to see Nicole again --OAK FANS

For it being less than half an hour before closing, it was packed inside, with two sections of seating for various group sizes, and a casually loud interior with a counter full of water jugs and glass cups in front of a nice plant backdrop with the name of this place in lights. Menu serves a ton of Asian fusion dishes along with some regular entrees and a ton of cocktails and wine. From my sis's recommendation when she went, I got myself the banh mi smash burger after deciding between that and the Pho-rench dip my brother-in-law had. My friend got himself the La Vong fish sandwich, which I didn't get to try though we both did split an order of honey sriracha Brussel sprouts. - For the banh mi smash burger, think of ALL the essential ingredients of a standard banh mi sandwich; then put in a regular beef patty, throw in lemongrass beef as the other meat and add provolone cheese as a complement to the pate-mayo spread. That's what this is in a nutshell, and it tastes exactly like a banh mi sandwich as a result, only in burger form. This was an absolute hit and win for me; beef patty was juicy, condiments were fresh, lemongrass beef was equally as juicy, and the side of fries made this a very filling dish! - I normally don't like Brussel sprouts because of their similar taste profile to asparagus, but I ate a ton of the honey sriracha Brussel sprouts from here. It's sweet and tangy, both of which mask the oddly earthy and bitter tones of regular Brussel sprouts. They're also roasted which further gets rid of that bitter taste I don't enjoy. We rushed a little eating since they were close to closing but we loved everything we got here! I should start keeping a list of places like this one for places I need to make a second and even third visit to for their other dishes.

Originally, the diminutive Beacon Hill shop aimed to serve a sophisticated take on the comfort food that Dulla grew up eating. But now, the eclectic menu, particularly the wildly popular smash burger, is hailed as one of the best in the city. The whitewashed brick, single-storied storefront looks more like a private residence than a restaurant -- your only clues are the neon-colored menu printout taped to the door and the low-key light-up sign in the blinded window. The cozy dining room is minimally decorated with Native artwork and scenes of Pacific islands. Lime-green upholstered chairs are pressed up to geometrically patterned tables. The adjacent bar space is dimly lit by red bulbs and a flatscreen playing muted anime. Lofi tunes are drowned out by the roar of chatter. My fiancee and I visited for early weekend dinner before a Mariners game, and we had no trouble securing a table close to opening. Our consensus favorite dish of the night was the Corn Soup (Rosary Style). The deliciously aromatic broth channeled coconut milk and chili oil into a warm embrace. The tiny Seafood Kelaguen Tostada combined rich coconut with tart citrus, but the overall flavor felt muted. The lauded Da Kids Kewpie Burger was a very good riff on the smash burger. The addition of miso made the flavor profile remarkably rich, and the smashed patty had deliciously crispy edges. However, the portion size was modest at best, and the flimsy bun was boring. The extra-crispy accompanying Truffle Fries were seasoned well enough to enjoy on their own, but we enjoyed dipping them into a side of Ffanana Jam (Familyfriend's sweet and vinegary take on banana ketchup). For dessert, we opted for the Bunelos Manglo (Typhoon Donuts). These piping hot, dense donuts fell somewhere between mochi and funnel cake. Packing chewy mango bits, these two-biter treats never needed the overly sweet side of peach sauce. The service was efficient, and our bill approached $100 (after tax and tip). By the time we left, I was reasonably full, and every indoor table was occupied. Our consensus was that the food, while generally tasty, felt $10-20 overpriced. Further, the renowned burger was good-not-great; it never lived up to its $25 price tag, much less its billing as one of the best burgers in the country. Expect to pay the premium for the one-of-a-kind menu and the local hype, rather than out-of-this-world food.
