Super disappointing at basically all levels. I had takeout Jab Chae Basil, Green Curry, and Papaya Salad. The Jab Chae Basil was terrible: a block of congealed noodles over plain vegetables with a bland sauce to put over it. The Green Curry was average. The greatest disappointment was the Papaya Salad. How, oh how, do you screw up simple Papaya Salad so badly? This place would have been bad at half the price, but it truly deserves the one star I'm giving it based on the cost. Save your money. Look if you like seafood soups and noodles this is your place. If you want traditional dishes like spicy fried rice with chicken or pad Thai with chicken then this is not your place. The blandest, most measly portions of Thai food served up with equally indifferent service. Not sure what they're getting good reviews for. It took 20 minutes to take our order and that too was only taken when we hijacked a waitress that was serving other tables. We were never asked our spice preference, the food came piece meal, we had to ask for hot sauce to give it any semblance of flavor (ask for hot sauce in a Thai restaurant!!) and had a dish with Thai basil chili with noodles that came with about a pound of noodles and four shrimp. I had the Khao Soi which was a nice combination of crunchy noodles, pickled and fresh veggies, curry, and umami-tastic chili oil (mmm fish sauce). They are still in start-up phase (in April, 2017), but there are lots of encouraging signs. Service was friendly and attentive. The salmon and fried rice and the Panang beef were both delicious. We'll be going back to try more things. It is great to have a Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. This place is one of the closest food establishments to the Sante Fe train station which is mostly the reason I stopped to try this place out after finally arriving home from an east coast trip. Had some time to kill before the train arrived to take us back up north. It was a minor challenge finding the place as it looks like you are going into an apartment/office building but that is because it pretty much is. Bottom floor of a mixed use building but it was very clean a new so we sat down right away it was before noon so there wasn't anyone there. Service was great as we were the only clients at the time. We got some tasty tea, spare rib app. and our main dishes. I don't remember what I got but it was a special that day. Curry with noodles, crunchy and soft noodles. It was amazing AF! Maybe I was just super hungry from the travel but I was blown away. It was the perfect unwind after a busy trip and travel. Nice and quite, tea, yum yum! Nice Thai place literally within two minute walk from the San Diego rail station. Clean straightforward interior, good lighting, decent food (I have tried avocado curry). A good option for a quick lunch while waiting for the train. Not cheap, expect to pay $25 for the said lunch. read more

Great thai food here, love Koon in kearny mesa. Was excited to hear its the same group here. Had a curry and some noodles dish, both were excellent and flavorful. The food is not really worth it. The workers forgot my order leading me to wait for 45 minutes for my food. Even without managing a line of customers, they still didn't even take the time to reassure their consumers orders. The rice was hard, and the salmon was undercooked. I wouldn't recommend this place overall within quality and quantity. I usually try new restaurants at a spice level of 5 and go up from there. I love my food spicy. However they told me their mild is a 5. Beware there mild is closer to a 7 in my opinion. I ate there two nights in a row. The second night I had their seafood soup with ginger. Great flavor but I had to take the muscles out . They were a little on the iffy side. read more

Pretty disappointed. I called in a take-out order and said I wanted it spicy. They argued that I didn't want it spicy (it is very spicy, they said) so I got medium (which they said would be spicy). Gone are the days of driving to Hillcrest or University Heights for some decent Thai. I ordered online, picked up my order and was at my table eating my delicious yellow curry within 15 minutes. I love the big chunky veggies. They are cooked perfectly! They still have the perfect amount of crunch. So appreciative of th fast service and I am so glad it's delicious. I had high expectations for this thai place because I love koon thai but unfortunately it did not live up to the expectation. We ordered 2 curries, both medium and they were so spicy it felt like a fire had been lit in my mouth. No matter how much water I drank, this fire could not be doused. We eventually had to ask for coconut milk just to make the food edible. So while the flavors may have been wonderful, I could not taste them. If you do come here, make sure to order below the level of spice you normally go for. read more

I was in San Diego for a conference and ordered delivery. The online ordering was easy and the food came promptly. I love Thai food and this is easily some of the best I have ever had. I ordered very mild green curry with tofu and vegetables (having been "burned" by too spicy from other Thai food) and it was perfectly seasoned and flavorful with a hint of spicey-ness. The mango sticky rice was delicious!!! Also very impressed with the options available such as mixed Jasmine and wild rice, and various nondairy milks for the Thai iced tea. Be careful when ordering soup. Order spicy and was not edible, they have an extra spicy level and can't even imagine what that would be like. Take out order soup had a half inch layer of chile oil at bottom. Called to comment and answer back was that there is a warning on the menu. Other wise good was very good and reasonably priced, delivery was fast. Will order again, but not order any extra spice in soup and have chile oil placed on side so I can control spice level. read more

Discovered this place near our downtown offices-and I'm so glad I did! So far I've tried the panang curry, yellow curry, tom kha soup, chicken larb, crab fried rice, and fresh spring rolls. I love everything I've tried so far. Everything was fresh and very flavorful. I agree with the other reviews...things run spicier than normal here. I'm not a fan of spicy, so I always order mild. This place is great. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the spice level. And I wouldn't normally review, but I just want to give people a heads up when choosing their spice level. I ordered the Panang curry with tofu twice now. The first time, I ordered "spicy" and it was too hot for me to handle. The second time, I ordered it "medium" and it was still too hot for me! Usually I order a 9 at other Thai restaurants and am usually okay with the heat, but this place really dials it up! The flavor of the curry is delicious, however, despite it being really spicy. We live right across the street and were looking for a quick place to eat dinner. We decided to try the Thai place across the street since it seemed convenient. We did not expect the Amazing food that followed!! I ordered the Pa-Nang curry with pork shank and I got the option of white rice vs. mixed wild rice. The curry was one of the best I've ever had! It came with 2 large pieces of pork shank which is perfect for sharing which works out great since my husband and I usually split out dishes. My husband ordered the "Mee Krob Rad Na" which is a crispy noodle sea food dish which I had not seen in other Thai restaurants before. It was amazing!! Large chunks of fish, plenty of oysters and shrimp in a broth with veggies and served with fried egg noodles...again plenty for sharing! Our waitress was super friendly and gave us an overview over the menu and their most popular dishes and food came out fast! The mango sticky rice was sublime! Overall: great food, great taste, great quality of food, great price, friendly staff, fast service!! This restaurant will be seeing a lot of me and I recommend it to anyone!!! read more
