    Fresh Spring Rolls (2)

I feel like OB Noodle House is one of those San Diego classics that everyone has been to at least once. I know people who love this place so much that it is part of their regular rotation. Me being born and raised in San Diego without ever trying it almost felt like a crime. I finally decided it was time to pay a visit. We came with a party of five. The seating setup was a little different from what I expected. We ended up at a long picnic table style booth that we shared with another couple. It honestly was not an issue since there was still plenty of space. It was just a different concept for me. The servers were super friendly and bubbly. They moved fast too. Our food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the Char-grilled Beef, Eggroll & Cold Vermicelli Noodles, Fresh Spring Rolls, the famous Spicy Garlic Wings plus the Korean Beef Short Ribs. The Fresh Spring Rolls were good. They were filled with shrimp, thinly sliced pork, lettuce, vermicelli noodles, basil plus bean sprouts. The peanut plum hoisin sauce definitely carried them though. Add some of their chili sauce into it too. Delicious. Now for the Spicy Garlic Wings. I know everyone raves about these, but honestly, based on the ones we got, I feel like I would rather have Wingstop. They were really dry. I even asked a friend who has been here before if that was normal. Apparently they are usually not like that, so maybe we just caught them on a bad day or they spent a little too much time in the fryer. Either way, they had definitely lost a lot of their moisture. The flavor was there, but the dryness made it hard for them to really stand out to me. My favorite was easily the Korean Beef Short Ribs. They came out sizzling over caramelized onions with a generous amount of marinated meat. Great flavor. Great texture. Delicious. This was probably the one dish I would order again without thinking twice. The Char-grilled Beef, Eggroll & Cold Vermicelli Noodles were fine. The noodles were a little too bouncy and chewy for me. They almost tasted slightly underdone. The grilled beef had great flavor though. Once everything was mixed with the fish sauce, it came together much better.

This place is out of bounds! Crazy delicious! Love coming here with the fam! It's centrally located in San Diego's Ocean Beach neighborhood, OB Noodle House & Sake Bar is famous for its savory Vietnamese-fusion cuisine, vibrant pub-style atmosphere, and energetic bar scene. They provide great service and exceptional food options- The absolute star of the menu are the spicy garlic wings. These deep-fried, house-marinated wings are tossed in a sweet, savory, and aggressively spicy chili-satay oil, often served with a side of ranch 10/10. They are finger licking good! I flock here for their wagyu korean-style short ribs (topped with caramelized onions and cilantro), they are perfectly tender and caramelized- chef's kiss! My wife enjoys their house-special fried rice with beef, shrimp, and chinese sausage 10/10. Absolutely delicious! They also have a great selection of IPA's- my personal favorite is the Mike Hess Into The Sunset Blood Orange. It's crisp, refreshing, and hits the palate every time 10/10. Definitely worth a visit! You won't be disappointed!

OB noodle house and sake, this place rocks. This is the smaller location in ocean beach on Cable street. We came in tonight for dinner and as always we were blown away with how great the food profiles are. Started out with spring rolls and bao bun tacos, cuz taco Tuesday, and not those tacos are freaking delicious. Puffy bao bun and delicious meat. The spring rolls are a favorite of mine, fresh and delicious dipping sauce. The chow fun beef and veggies (dry stir fry) was absolutely the best I've ever had. Delicious noodles and the beef and veggies were cooked to perfection. My wife had the #9 special with beef and brisket and it too was full of flavor, delicious broth and noodles and the beat was superb. The place gets crowded quickly and there isn't a whole lot of room at this location. We sat at the bar, the staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on their menu. Overall this place is fantastic and absolutely worth eating there.

This place is really good. Our server was Jake, he was awesome. He offered suggestions for menu items. We took him recommendation and we are glad we did. The chicken wings had just the right amount of heat. The fried spring rolls were good. The House Fried Rice and Dry Beef Chow Fun were excellent. The entire stay worked as a team and service was great. It's OB so parking is a challenge, but it's worth it!

I liked this place overall! The service was decent. It wasn't stand out but it was good enough. We sat outside and I don't think the heaters were working but that's also alright. The chicken wings were good. I think they could have been a little bit spicier. I also had the rare steak and brisket pho which was pretty good. My cocktail was also good and not too sweet which I appreciated.

We have walked by, parked in front, looked inside, but never went in...LOL! But I felt we should try them out since they are dog friendly. Since we were there right after they opened, we sat in the front table so Cako could be in the corner. She watched all the workers from where she was standing. I ordered a Hawaiian inspired cocktail which was very good! Apparently, they have a signature peanut butter shot that I will have to try next time. We started with the fresh spring rolls with shrimp. Great peanut sauce! I ordered the chicken bun vermicelli, really good! Scooter had the chicken teriyaki. It was a great way to try out OB Noodle and they were good choices! It started to get busy. We were lucky we came early. The interior is cool and there's definitely a chill vibe. Our server, can't remember her name, was great! Friendly and excited it was our first time. Definitely worth checking out! Cako Approves!

Came here due to its good reviews and thousands of reviews, but what a disappointment. The pho broth lukewarm. That's the biggest red flag. The bowl is also the tiniest bowl I've ever seen for pho. I had chosen the rare steak, flank brisket, and tripe. I had multiple pieces that I could barely chew, not sure what it was. The broth was flavorful, but on the salty side. Would not come back here for pho. Places like a beer garden, very spacious, indoor and outdoor. So if you're here for a drink and some bar food, okay. Def not authentic, sadly.

This is the birthplace of Skrewball, the cloying peanut butter whiskey. But you probably came here for noodles, not booze (although they do have quite the beer and alcohol menu). You can get Skrewball here but you shouldn't. Ask for the ORIGINAL peanut butter whiskey. It tastes nothing like Skrewball. It's like drinking a shot of fresh, slightly boozy, blended peanut butter. It is fantastic. (Apparently, they cannot bottle and sell the fresh stuff because, well, it's freshly made and just wouldn't be able to be practically sold commercially. That makes sense, unfortunately.) The food is fine here. It's nothing amazing but it will hit the spot. For an appetizer, we tried the fried dumplings. The menu notes they are deep fried and indeed they were. I would say there were left in the fryer a bit too long. They tasted good but they could have been better. For my entree, I tried the 1502 Special pho, which is supposedly made with kobe wagyu beef. The beef was fine, although it tasted like normal beef to me, and there were a ton of rice noodles in my bowl. The star of the dish was the broth itself which had a good flavor. There are many other places in San Diego with better pho but this one was just fine. The cold bun (vermicelli) noodles with chicken was fine. This is not the most exciting dish but it is fine for what it is. They have some delicious non-alcoholic fruity drinks, like mango and pineapple. Don't miss out on those, if you aren't into alcohol. Parking is absolutely atrocious in this area. Good luck to you. This is a very casual and friendly neighborhood hang. Make sure to get the ORIGINAL peanut butter whiskey. It's a delicious shot of heaven.

The wings and peanut butter shots are a must aways but what makes this place stand out are their amazing servers

Spring rolls (no pork) - delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced and the peanut dipping sauce was *chef's kiss*

First off, major kudos to our incredible server Mo - she made the best recommendations, was incredibly kind to our family, and really made our experience a five star. What a gem!! The drink menu had so may great choices. The Paloma and the Dead Ass Delicious were must-orders. I don't know if you can go wrong with anything on this menu! Everything was so yummy! Bonus? We sat at the communal bench seating at the entrance and got to hang out with the cutest puppies all night too!

Overdue review for OB Noodle House in Ocean Beach offers asian fusion food. As with many restaurants in the area, parking is a challenge and a pain in the derrière. This restaurant was featured on DDD Diners Drive-ins and Dives with Guy Fieri, whose original name is Ferry FYI. There's indoor, outdoor seating and is dog friendly at this casual restaurant that would be considered a diner dive. Service from staffers was great, helpful and attentive but it should be because they automatically charge your bill with a gratuity service charge, so make sure you do NOT pay an additional tip!! The menu highlighted many selections but we chose the recommendations from DDD's spikey bleach blonde host. The bowl of Pho was our starter, the bowl was hugh and plentiful, after a few sips of the broth, I was not interested in eating the noodles, as I had enough and wanted to eat the other foods we ordered. Honestly, wouldn't order pho again, it was good but not the best pho I've had just solely based on the broth's taste. The bbq wings were very tasty, however, I prefer wings to be crunchy and these appeared to have been baked and not crunchy but very smoky and flavorful. My friend had the pork belly taco made with the soft bun and he liked it. The sizzling Basa whole fish and the sizzling short ribs were both dazzling show stoppers in presentation both delicious. But it seems both the fish and the short ribs were marinated in the same seasoned concoctions as they tasted the same however, the short ribs did taste best, hands down! The upbeat music blasting as we dined added a great vibe. This restaurant attracts all diners with the expansive food selections that there's something for everyone. While I'm not a hugh fan of Guy Ferry Fieri, but the show featuring this restaurant caught my attention enough for me to visit. My next visit will have to include a pan fried noodle dish, after all that's in the name of the restaurant. When in Ocean Beach, a diner dive with fantastic asian fusion foods is the OB Noodle House for Asian fusion foods was highly recommended by DDD's Guy Ferry/Fieri Recommend

New to San Diego and someone recommended OB's Noodle House Attentive service; lots of seating and good vibes. We ordered spicy wings! Not spicy but definitely have an Asia flair. Sizzling fish was sizzling! Pan seared egg noodles with shrimp and vegetables was a large portion and filling.

This is my second visit to OB Noodle House. It's a fun, super-casual, not quite dive bar atmosphere. Both times I've been here (once for lunch mid-week and dinner today: Sunday 03/01/26) the service has been very friendly and efficient. Tonight they were super busy, but our server still had time to recommend a couple of his favorite things. We ordered 12 wings, the chicken lettuce wraps, the #10 Pho, and the Hong Kong seafood chow fun. Everything was amazing, full of flavor, well thought out, and delicious. The only thing about OB Noodle House that makes me sad, is that I live way up in the North County and can't eat here as often as I want! If you are lucky enough to be in the area, I can highly recommend this unassuming little corner place for some of the best Asian fusion dishes anywhere in California

Ask the Community - OB Noodle House

Anybody know if there's still happy hour?

    Yeah alcohol only 3 - 5 pm

Does OB noodle house have gluten free options?

Yes... several! Just go over them with your server when you order.

Are you able to accommodate nut and seafood allergies?

My mother in law has a seafood allergy and they are always super careful to make sure her food isn't contaminated.

Are they open for take out during government shut down from corona virus?

Ob noodle house isn't open but their other restaurant OB Noodle House Bar 1502 is open for take out only 12-8pm. You can also get their peanut butter whiskey shot by the mason jar to go ! *droools*

    Do they use MSG?

The question is who doesn't? Chick fil a, Doritos, kfc, look at any ingredient list and you can find msg in common items. I find the stigma against msg to be a bit racist in my opinion.

    Is this location dog friendly?

I've seen a couple people with their dogs on the patio.

Can you see the tv from the patio? Would this work as I'm bringing my dogs to watch the game?

The TV's are somewhat small, but you can definitely see them from the patio! Although, maybe not the small score numbers. Lol.

Do they have food challenges there?

There aren't any food challenges at OB noodle house

    How's the parking?

This place exceeded every one of them. Nestled in a quiet residential neighborhood, Wolf in the Woods feels like a hidden European café you'd stumble upon while traveling. Sitting outside beneath the umbrellas with a cocktail, watching the neighborhood stroll by. It felt like a little corner cafe in Paris. Then the food arrived. Every plate was beautifully presented, but the real magic was in the creativity of the flavors. The combinations were unexpected, yet every one worked. Every dish had me wondering how on earth someone came up with these pairings in the first place. The Sweet Corn & Piñon Soup deserves a standing ovation. We literally stopped talking after the first spoonful. Rich, savory, slightly sweet, comforting and completely unexpected all at the same time. Both of our eyes rolled back in our heads. The Beef Tataki completely surprised me. The outside had a delicate seared crust, the inside cut like butter, and the citrus pairing made me rethink what flavors belong together. And the mushroom and polenta dish? The mushrooms had an incredible texture--like savory little pieces of mushroom jerky. I would have happily bought a pound of them just to snack on. Every dish felt like it was taking me somewhere I'd never been before, yet somehow felt familiar at the same time. Wolf in the Woods creates an unforgettable experience.

The Joint has a really nice atmosphere both indoors and out. We order off the Happy Hour menu as…read morewell as the regular menu. We are doing tastings at 4 Restaurants in Ocean Beach. And this review is after that experience, so we can compare and contrast things like pricing and quality. When you come here you must bring a loaded wallet. To try a sour beer or any of their Russian River beers, (which was a surprise to us that there even was beer coming out of Russian River, a place I love for wine) .... is $19 for a bottle. And if you've never tried a sour beer and no one likes it, there are no returns. You pay your money and you take your chances. They are creative at The Joint. I mean an eel roll with macadamia nuts is a brilliant twist on sushi. The second thing we try is their soft shell crab roll. Delicious. Everyone at the table 'seconds' these comments. I ask someone on the way in, seated at a table eating sushi if it is good. He says: "I'll let you know". Later, he comes back to our table to let me yes! It's really good". So is this a good place to go for Sushi? The answer is yes. Is it a little confusing as an asian fusion place to have so many diverse choices? The answer is yes, but I also admit I do like all the options. Again, they call their Happy Hour food 'Tapas'. Is that Spanish, or is it just me? Japanese fried chicken or an arugula salad or oysters? lol Your taste buds must travel all over the place and that's hard on the palate and my headspace of 'what am I eating'? Is it overpriced? The answer is yes! And if I'm being honest, it surprises me that no one else on yelp is mentioning this. If money is not an issue and you want good sushi, our group recommends trying The Joint. Just don't count on happy hour having happy prices. $4 for an oyster is not happy! It's regular priced. Maybe even over priced for a happy hour menu where oysters come in at $1 and $2 for happy hour. And today, they are all out of oysters. lol We usually just tell you what to order when you go to a restaurant. This is the first time we have felt the need to let you know what you're in for, price wise. Sorry to the wonderful staff and great chef. No idea why they need to represent themselves as 'happy hour noon - 6pm every day', leading me to believe there is good pricing. But it's not my zoo, not my monkeys.
