I found Steamy Piggy on Google and Yelp because of its great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The wait was about 25 minutes, which wasn't too bad. Once we were seated, we looked through the menu and placed our order. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. I ordered the Steamy Piggy Ramen, which was delicious. The noodles were a little overcooked, but overall it was a great meal. I also tried the garlic wontons. They were tasty, but the spicy sauce overpowered most of the garlic flavor. Overall, we had a good experience. The only downside was the parking, which can be difficult to find when it's busy.

Sooooo good! We ordered Steamy Piggy via DoorDash and everything arrived hot/warm. The food was really really good and the portions were generous. We had plenty of leftovers that lasted us for another day or two. My favorite was the pork belly! Super flavorful. It wasn't as tender as I normally like it to be, but the flavor more than made up for the texture. Next time, we'll visit in person.

Went here about 2 weeks ago. Aaron, our server did an amazing job. Always checked on us to see if we needed anything else. He made sure we had everything we needed and answered our questions clearly. I ordered their braised pork again and my wife ordered their ramen. The ramen was on the 3 star rating according to my wife, as it wasn't that hot. The temperature was warm enough for my 1 year old who was also with us. With that said, they have high chair available. The whole review could've been a 3 star; however the ramen was flavorful. The braised pork somewhat was much better from what I remember from the last time we came here. My wife and I loved it, specially my wife since her ramen was already cold after I finally received my order. That's the other thing, our food was not served at the same time. The ramen was served first, warm temp, then the braised pork was served maybe after about 5-10 minutes after. The table next to us had 3 people, one of them was already eating their food while the other 2 were still waiting for their food. Other than that, service from our server was phenomenal! Thanks Aaron and the crew for being so kind and welcoming! The place is cozy and clean. See you guys next time!

This restaurant has a great vibe and is a nice addition to the Convoy Street dining scene. With so many positive reviews, I was excited to check it out for myself. The spicy wontons were definitely the highlight of the meal. The BBQ pork baozi had a nice soft texture, but the filling itself was a bit underseasoned and could have used more flavor. I also tried the Galaxy Lemonade, which was refreshing, though a little sweeter than I prefer. The service was excellent, and the food came out quickly, which made for a great dining experience overall. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be challenging on weekends, so it's worth planning ahead.

It is a must to order their Piggy Bao. It is 1 per order but it's big to be a satisfying starter per person. It was savory, sweet, fatty pork that just melts in your mouth. I ordered additionally: -Chicken Roll: Crispy popcorn chicken wrapped with their scallion pancake, filled with veggies and sweet chili. Very filling to share between two people. -Spicy Ramen: Spicy level is 1 out of 5. Very savory tonkotsu base broth, with tender chashu pork (4-5 slices). It was relatively chilly outside so this hit the spot to warm your body up. -Red-Braised Pork Belly Bowl: It is the Japanese style "Kakuni" which is pork belly braised until the fat melts in your mouth, with sweet-savory soy base flavoring. It pairs so well with white rice. If you are taking it home, maybe add some spicy mustard to enhance the entire dish!

First time visiting Steamy Piggy and it did not disappoint! The atmosphere was lively, the staff & Kathrine were welcoming, and the food was excellent. Portions were generous, and every dish we tried was packed with flavor. The restaurant was clean and comfortable, making it a perfect place for a casual lunch or dinner. Highly recommend if you're exploring the Convoy food scene.

Everything here was so tasty. My favorite was the beef chow fun. The noodles were perfectly soft & the whole dish had so much flavor. Their portions here are huge so it is worth the prices. I thought the salt & pepper wings were fried very well, they were a bit salty & would've been better if there was white rice. The restaurant was super cute. Wish I took more pictures of it!

Solid food. I tried the ramen and my friend got three different variety of bao buns (very large portions for the bao buns). My ramen tasted good. A little salty and the pork was too charred in my opinion. But otherwise flavorful and decent price to portion ratio. Service was great, employees were very polite and made their rounds to check to see if you needed anything. Ambiance was ok. Decorations were nice. We sat inside because it was chilly out and there were tiny gnats flying around that made the meal a little less enjoyable since we were shooing them away our entire meal. Like other businesses in convoy, parking is slim. They have a small shared lot right out front. Check the QR code on the walls to avoid towing

Steamy Piggy was a solid experience overall. The chow mein was definitely the highlight of the meal--flavorful, satisfying, and something I'd happily order again, although it was a bit on the greasy side. The soup dumplings were just okay and didn't quite live up to the hype. The staff was friendly and attentive, the restaurant was clean, and our food came out quickly, which was appreciated. While not everything impressed me, the chow mein alone is worth coming back for. I'd definitely return and try more of the menu.

If you are looking for good ramen this is the place to go! Broth was on point! Noodles were cooked perfectly and the meat was delicious! Also ordered the bulgogi noodles, wanted to try something different, unfortunately this was not my favorite dish, I thought it be more savory but it's more on a sweet taste side and I I'm just not a bulgogi fan, but presentation was nice! Kaitlyn the server was so helpful & sweet :)

We were able to find a parking spot in the lot and a table in the patio without a wait on a Wednesday at 5:30. Parking is free for 2 hours. It was the tail end of HH so we ordered a Soju cocktail called Purple Rain and the Bao flight. I did not expect the Baos to be so filling. It was the best dish there and I enjoyed all the different textures of the proteins. The soup dumplings were disappointing. The wonton was thick and chewy especially at the top where it is pinched together and the filling was firm and lacked flavor. The spicy ramen was not spicy at all and the noodles were stracotto aka Italian for soft and mushy. We were very excited to finally try Steamy Piggy but the food fell short of expectations.

We gave this a try based on all the rave reviews and it didn't disappoint! We arrived close to 8 pm on Sunday night and were seated immediately. Our server was super nice and attentive. We let her know it was our first time and appreciated her suggestions. We tried a roll, wings, a taco and pot stickers. All were really good with so much flavor packed into every bite. Good came out quickly, was nice and hot. Overall service was fast and friendly plus the food was really fresh and tasty. Cute decor and dining areas. So glad we gave it a try!

I absolutely loved Steamy Piggy. I had an amazing experience here from getting seated to the end. The server was so nice and gave us recommendations on popular dishes and favorites. We decided to get 5 dishes and they did not disappoint. The chicken wings, fried rice, and chow fun were incredible. Nothing was too oily and by the end I was full but not overly filled. If you go here you definitely need to order the Kawaii Buns - they were not too sweet and served warm. I was so impressed with the presentation of the dishes and the ambiance of the restaurant. They have an indoor area as well as a patio that's decorated very nicely. Parking in convoy is never easy but we were lucky to find a spot in the parking lot behind the restaurant. I would say account for this because it can definitely get busy. Overall, I would definitely come again and try new dishes!

Hi Amber, no that's the only number I see when you go to Yelp & Google.

    How can I make reservations?

Most likely. After eating there today I felt really thirsty.

    Through yelp

Do they take reservations? If yes, where?

Are they open on sundays? I've tried calling but no answer.

Yes they are open on Sundays and are typically busy. Recommend just going in person.

When is happy hour? Pdf menu says it starts at 4 but the online menu says 3. Thank you

When we walked in the sign said 3. I remember because i was on my lunch break at 1 and thought dang if only I waited 2 more hours i could of made it to hpy hr lol

I had decided tentatively to get pizza, but my cousin told me when I picked him up that he was on a healthy food kick. Plus, he wanted to go to a "Michelin star place" and this was the only Michelin star place I could think of... and ramen noodles are pretty healthy so what the heck? I had been to the Mira Mesa location before so I knew what to expect here. My cousin was new so he was trying to figure out what to order. Unlike last time at the Mira Mesa location, I knew not to order the extra noodles and went for the tonkotsu ajitama, which does seem like the safe option. I added corn and seaweed into my bowl, which I think helped add to the nice umami flavor. But even without the extra noodles, I still couldn't finish the whole bowl of ramen. To be fair, I did have breakfast a couple of hours before. Still, it was filling. And I had leftovers for later. My cousin ordered the Tonkotsu bowl only, and he said it was really good. Coming from a pretty picky eater like himself, that's a compliment.

They do sake right! Shot glass situated in a wooden box. You then over pour the glass and let it settle in the wood. I haven't had it served this way since I had it at a hole in the wall sale joint in Japan. After finishing the glass, pour the overflow into the glass and it may have picked up a little extra richness and smoothness from the wood. My mentor for Japan had a box stored at "his place" where they poured him for 40 years. Modest roll menu, which is just fine. The salmon roll was soooooo fresh, firm tender flesh, balanced with lemon peels and very thinly sliced mango. I can't describe how perfectly balanced it was. I asked the bartender and a couple regulars who were also sitting at the bar what their favorites were. All said the Vegan ramen. They were right. Full flavor bomb in the broth, perfect noodles (not mushy). They will add in meat if you want more protein, but the flavor was all there. Tried two different types of Sake on the different visits. Seriously, I would go out of my way for this place. If you're looking at this review, stop. Just go. I'm dreaming about going back right now.
