Really enjoyed my visit to Steamy Piggy! I tried a good mix of the menu including the Piggy Bao, Bulgogi Roll, Chili Wontons, Red-Braised Pork Belly, Kawaii Buns, and Galaxy Lemonade. The Piggy Bao was soft and fluffy with rich pork belly, and I really liked how the cabbage and cilantro helped balance everything out. The Bulgogi Roll was probably one of the most unique things I tried the scallion pancake with bulgogi, cabbage, onion, and melted mozzarella almost reminded me of a Korean-style burrito. Now those Chili Wontons were on point! That pork and shrimp filling was really good, but that sweet and spicy chili sauce took it to another level. Alright next up was the Red-Braised Pork Belly which was rich, tender, and super comforting once all that sauce soaked into the rice. For dessert, the Kawaii Buns were almost too cute to eat, but the warm custard filling was actually really good. The Galaxy Lemonade was refreshing and fun to watch change colors after mixing it. Oh and lets not forget the service! The staff was outstanding, truly great people. Got me everything i needed, and checked on me often. Overall, Steamy Piggy has a really fun menu with a lot of creative dishes. I'd definitely plan to come back and try more dishes, can't wait!

Came for lunch on a Sunday. No reservation and was able to get a table for four walking in. Cute interior that also has a little patio in the back. Lots of greenery. Younger staff. Generous portions. - piggy bao - pork belly, cabbage, spicy mayo, hoisin, cilantro - pork belly was a mix of tender and dry pieces. Savory but got a bit too salty near the bottom of the bao. Could use more pickled veggies - chicken bao - fried chicken, cabbage, sweet chili, spicy mayo. The best bao. Chicken was super tender. - bulgogi bao - bulgogi, cheese, onion - pretty tender and nice sweet flavor on the meat - pork dumplings - least favorite. Visually looked over-steamed and didn't have any soup inside any of the seven dumplings - chicken roll - scallion pancake, popcorn chicken, cabbage, sweet chili, spicy mayo, mozz. The best dish of the order. Chicken was super tender and the pancake was flavorful. - chili wontons - dough was thick and also possibly over-steamed. Didn't love the sweet-spicy chili sauce - salt and pepper wings - I'm used to salt and pepper wings being super flavorful with generous seasoning but this was pretty blend. Fried well though

A cute place with a cute name! Piggies everywhere even in the dumpling streamers. They are known for their soup dumplings and baos as well as their kawaii pig buns with custard inside. The soup dumplings did lack a bit of soup (haha pretty much just dry) and the pineapple fried rice was a bit salty but the custard pig buns were good. The only minus was that I was looking forward to getting the piggy birthday plushie for my birthday and did not get it because the reservation on the Google doc needs to be made 48 hours in advance, which in my opinion should've been advertised better in the restaurant. It was just unfortunate because we are not from the area. otherwise the service was okay, and it was a long wait so be prepared. Hope everyone has an oink of a time at steamy piggy!

My friends and I met up at Steamy Piggy for a small get-together, and it was a great spot to catch up. We had a party of 10 and were seated on the patio. Three of us arrived about 40 minutes before everyone else, and the staff was kind enough to seat us while we waited for the rest of our group. This place gets pretty busy, so I'd recommend arriving between 4:00-5:00 PM if you want to avoid a long wait. We came during Happy Hour (3:00-6:00 PM), which was a great deal since we were able to try several dishes at half price. Unfortunately, we were so hungry that I forgot to take photos of most of the food! Despite how busy the restaurant was, the service was good, and everything we ordered was fresh and very tasty. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing. Overall, it's a fun spot with good food and great Happy Hour specials. I'd definitely come back.

Perfect casual spot to grab some Asian bites. The Bao's and tacos are tasty and quite filling, depending on how hungry you are I'd recommend 1-3x. I definitely recommend the Bulgogi Bao - it was full of meat and flavor was great. The soup dumplings were also very good. Came with a group of friends and the waiters were really nice and didn't seem to mind that we lingered a while to catch up. They also have a mix of indoor and outdoor seating and we didn't have any trouble with getting parking in the lot.

My toddler loves this place. The piggies on the walls, the plants, the patio and the fact that she can run around makes her love it. The food is always good. It doesn't focus on one type of cuisine but does a good job on the things that it does. My wife likes the bulgogi roll, I like the steamy piggy bowl, and all the dumplings are great. The piggy bao are a big hit with my daughter too. Kayla took care of us this last trip and did a great job. Will be back again!

Went here about 2 weeks ago. Aaron, our server did an amazing job. Always checked on us to see if we needed anything else. He made sure we had everything we needed and answered our questions clearly. I ordered their braised pork again and my wife ordered their ramen. The ramen was on the 3 star rating according to my wife, as it wasn't that hot. The temperature was warm enough for my 1 year old who was also with us. With that said, they have high chair available. The whole review could've been a 3 star; however the ramen was flavorful. The braised pork somewhat was much better from what I remember from the last time we came here. My wife and I loved it, specially my wife since her ramen was already cold after I finally received my order. That's the other thing, our food was not served at the same time. The ramen was served first, warm temp, then the braised pork was served maybe after about 5-10 minutes after. The table next to us had 3 people, one of them was already eating their food while the other 2 were still waiting for their food. Other than that, service from our server was phenomenal! Thanks Aaron and the crew for being so kind and welcoming! The place is cozy and clean. See you guys next time!

I found Steamy Piggy on Google and Yelp because of its great reviews, so we decided to give it a try. The wait was about 25 minutes, which wasn't too bad. Once we were seated, we looked through the menu and placed our order. Our waitress was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. I ordered the Steamy Piggy Ramen, which was delicious. The noodles were a little overcooked, but overall it was a great meal. I also tried the garlic wontons. They were tasty, but the spicy sauce overpowered most of the garlic flavor. Overall, we had a good experience. The only downside was the parking, which can be difficult to find when it's busy.

This restaurant has a great vibe and is a nice addition to the Convoy Street dining scene. With so many positive reviews, I was excited to check it out for myself. The spicy wontons were definitely the highlight of the meal. The BBQ pork baozi had a nice soft texture, but the filling itself was a bit underseasoned and could have used more flavor. I also tried the Galaxy Lemonade, which was refreshing, though a little sweeter than I prefer. The service was excellent, and the food came out quickly, which made for a great dining experience overall. One thing to keep in mind is that parking can be challenging on weekends, so it's worth planning ahead.

It is a must to order their Piggy Bao. It is 1 per order but it's big to be a satisfying starter per person. It was savory, sweet, fatty pork that just melts in your mouth. I ordered additionally: -Chicken Roll: Crispy popcorn chicken wrapped with their scallion pancake, filled with veggies and sweet chili. Very filling to share between two people. -Spicy Ramen: Spicy level is 1 out of 5. Very savory tonkotsu base broth, with tender chashu pork (4-5 slices). It was relatively chilly outside so this hit the spot to warm your body up. -Red-Braised Pork Belly Bowl: It is the Japanese style "Kakuni" which is pork belly braised until the fat melts in your mouth, with sweet-savory soy base flavoring. It pairs so well with white rice. If you are taking it home, maybe add some spicy mustard to enhance the entire dish!

Aaron was a great server! Our waters were always full, he was super patient, and quick to help. The food was great and came fast. The patio was super relaxing and well shaded.

    Is it dog friendly?

They do have outdoor patio I suppose if you sit close to the parking it should be fine but call ahead to be sure

What is estimated wait time for 1pm on a Friday?

We waited about 15 minutes. Wait time was not long at all.

Is there a different number to call? Every time I call the number ending in 0401, nobody answers and…

Hi Amber, no that's the only number I see when you go to Yelp & Google.

    How can I make reservations?

they don't have a call-ahead reservation. there's a kiosk intake for reservations when you walk-in. I hope this helps! the delicious food is definitely worth the wait, 20 minutes tops to get a table or enjoy a unique dinner experience by the pink…

Msg used in the steam buns?

Msg in any of the food? Allergy to msg need to know?

Most likely. After eating there today I felt really thirsty.

How do you make a reservation?

    Through yelp

Do they take reservations? If yes, where?

Are they open on sundays? I've tried calling but no answer.

Yes they are open on Sundays and are typically busy. Recommend just going in person.

When is happy hour? Pdf menu says it starts at 4 but the online menu says 3. Thank you

When we walked in the sign said 3. I remember because i was on my lunch break at 1 and thought dang if only I waited 2 more hours i could of made it to hpy hr lol

What time are their Happy Hours? The website basically says 11AM-9PM, but all their menus give different times.

    3-6 pm and 8-close

Do they no longer serve the rainbow dumplings?

I was there a couple weeks ago and they served them then. I can't imagine that they'd stop since the rainbow dumplings are basically one of each flavor of their regular dumpling selection.

    Are they open again?

    Yes indeed they are.

I see you are temporarily closed, and on and off available on delivery services. When will you be open again?

    They're open again

    Did they close down?

No we are temporarily closed for kitchen repairs and maintenance. Please contact us via email info@steamypiggy.com for updates and questions.

    When is their happy hour?

Current happy hour is every day 4-6:30pm and 8:30pm-close!

What are all the vegetarian options - only see vegetarian dumplings? Anything else?

looks like theres a spinach tofu salad, also you could ask for no meat in some of the noodle dishes. I'm sure its possible if you ask.

Amazing vegan craft ramen that's still hearty even without meat!…read more I ordered the vegan ramen and would definitely say this is one of my top picks. The sesame-miso broth was creamy, savory, and slightly spicy. The flavorful broth blended perfectly with the broccolini, corn, baby kale, soy meat, chili oil, and tofu. I did order extra tofu and a soft-boiled egg, which made it even more filling than it already was! I also tried the complimentary house spicy sauce, and it was the perfect way to kick up and balance the flavors without overpowering the ramen. For dessert, I ordered the mochi ice cream. Since it was delivered, it was slightly melted by the time it arrived, but honestly, that didn't take away from how good it was. Still creamy, sweet, and a great way to finish the meal. Overall, everything was delicious and satisfying. The food was packed well for delivery, and I have to mention the logo too--it's such a fun little touch! Definitely a spot I'd order from again.

My only downside is the to-go containers. They're pretty cheap, and unfortunately, I've had the delicious broth spill in my bag more than once. Hopefully they upgrade the containers because the ramen deserves better! Overall, great flavors, reasonable prices, and definitely worth a visit!

Unfortunately, they recently changed the menu and I can no longer get tonkotsu broth. They only offer chicken broth ramen which I do not care for in the slightest. Even the additions I used to put in my ramen (bok choy and bamboo shoots) are gone. I can get over removing my favorite vegetable add-ons, but ramen broth is a pretty important item and I'm shocked the options are gone. A normal meal. A casual San Diego ramen situation. Incorrect. What actually happened was that my child experienced a culinary event so powerful it rearranged her internal belief system. She took one bite and immediately declared it her "favorite meal ever" and "the best sushi on earth," which is impressive because those are two separate categories of food, but honestly I respect the conviction. At that moment, she became a tiny ramen prophet. A noodle evangelist. A sushi sommelier of chaos. I was no longer her father. I was merely the adult with a wallet and transportation. The ramen was fantastic. The sushi was fresh. The whole place had that magical "we actually care about what we are doing" energy, which is increasingly rare in a world held together by parking apps and spiritual fatigue. Then, as if the first visit had not already altered the timeline, my daughter made me go back the next day. Not requested. Not suggested. Made. There was no negotiation. She had tasted the mountain and demanded we return to the temple. So we did. And it was still excellent. BESHOCK is now officially part of our family lore. Somewhere between "remember that time we saw the ocean" and "remember when your daughter discovered ramen and briefly became a food critic possessed by a joyful sea dragon." Highly recommend. Bring your children only if you are emotionally prepared for them to ask to come back immediately.
