Great selection of toppings, welcoming customer service, and fresh ingredients! I ordered the build your own bowl. I was very pleasantly surprised by the dry, crunchy toppings. They definitely made the bowl amazing and made this poke bowl much better than others I've had due to the texture difference. I would definitely be back and would recommend this place to others if you're a fan of poke bowls!
The salmon was fresh and the toppings were colorful and delicious. You could make your own bowl or choose one of the menu options already created. I was the only customer so I didn't have to wait! The restaurant has outdoor seating and was nice and clean.
Ordered: Pick Your Own Poke (~$20): brown rice, proteins: salmon, tuna, shrimp, sauces: Hi Poke classic and spicy mayo, toppings: green onions, red onion, cucumber, edamame, crab salad, seaweed salad, ginger, seaweed, masago, crisp: crispy onion and crispy garlic Aya's take: Poke is my go-to when I need a quick and healthy meal. It's located in Seaport Village, not too far from the Convention Center. Hi Poke has all the toppings you would expect and you can tell they use good quality fish. I liked the mix of sauces and the freshness of all the toppings making this a very satisfying bowl. It wasn't busy at all when I got there and there's some eating indoors but plenty of seating outdoors as well. Great spot if you're in the area looking to get your poke fix!
My friend invited me to try Hi Poke in Downtown San Diego. I had the Scallop Dynamite, which is baked, and I loved the ingredient options, especially the edamame, seaweed, crab, onions, and more! There are plenty of tables and seating both inside and outside, which is nice.The staff is friendly, and the place itself is pretty good.The only downside is that the bathroom is quite far, you have to walk to the Jail Museum and ask for the code. But on the bright side, it's a great spot to explore! Just a heads-up, parking always comes with a fee (it's downtown, after all, haha).
My family did pick your own poke bowls, so they basically made their own bowls based on the great selection the place had. I was impressed by the sauce options, especially since I love spicy food. The prices were average and the place was not too big inside but had a cute ambiance with a few tables. There were tables outside so you could get your bowl and eat there. I appreciated that the employee did not serve just a little bit of protein for each scoop since some other poke places I've been to have been stingy with the protein.
Came here for something healthy and because of the ratings. It did not disappoint! Fresh ingredients and made fast. It was delicious!
A bit quiet in this place, could be low volume business. Got two bowl of tuna Poki, very disappointed as we asked for cilantro. A lady definitely saw that those cilantro in her container already welded, black snd bruised. She still put it in the bowls for us. My daughter was asking me why this cilantro is black. I had to pick through it and throw them out for her. Not recommended and never to back. Always have to maintain freshness for ready to eat food serve to any customer. If you can't maintain consistency. Soon, no one would come to your place.

The food came pretty quick, unfortunately that was the only good thing about my experience. First of all, the meal came without utensils. Luckily I was able to ask for utensils from the hotel. Then the food was so overpriced for what it is. I ordered an eel bowl, and it only came with 4 thin pieces of eel. All for almost $20!!!! Definitely don't recommend this place.

I was attending a research meeting at a nearby hotel and it was raining like crazy in typically sunny San Diego so I needed a nearby place ideally outside the giant hotel I'm stuck in all day. Hi Poki was hidden in the far back corner of a half deserted shopping area ironically surrounding a former historical prison. Tables outside were drenched so I had to eat inside at a table with a red (not clean) cloth tablecloth covering it. Place was empty and I ordered a do it yourself Poki bowl for $20 plus tax ($22). It was underwhelming. Mostly brown rice and some limited greens with three itty bitty scoops of fish. The sauces were a little too sweet for me and since the bowl was kinda small once you added the toppings and crunchy stuff a little hard to mix it up and dive in without spilling it all on that red tablecloth. Not great. At best good. I'd pass.
I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl. Tried three proteins. The serving was quite large and looked like enough for two servings. Sadly, the rice had undercooked grains. Not good for those with digestive issues. Each bite had hard rice and it ruined the poke. Not that the fish was great either. The seafood was underwhelming and I couldn't really differentiate the Hi Poke Sauce from regular soy sauce - read soy sauce had more flavour. All this for $20. Not cheap for dealing with par-cooked rice. My mistake for imagining that a poke place outside of Convoy would deliver. Maybe it was just a bad day and the rice cooker wasn't working or someone opened the rice cooker before rice was fully cooked. Sadness. Service was good and location was also nice, walkable from the Embarcadero and the USS Midway and that's the two stars. I honestly would not come again because no self respecting poke place would serve rice in this state.

I just arrived from DC to eat something fast and healthy, someone suggested HI Poke. It was close to my hotel and I was surprised that no one was here. The service was great and the selection was great as well. I ordered the build your own and 3 proteins was standard as part of the menu. I love the fresh taste of all the ingredients. The mistake I had was ordering the brown rice instead of the white rice. I forgot that brown rice is a bit chewy but the server provided me with additional white rice to compensate. We found this place while we were shopping at Seaport and it was such a hidden gem - we almost missed it! We walked in and the place was open, bright, and clean. We were greeted upon entry and seemed promptly. The food - WOW. You really can't beat a fresh poke bowl. I have been several times and tried something different each time but everything has been phenomenal. Definitely worth a try (if you haven't been) or a come back if you've already been. read more

Not really one to be a Karen on yelp but I got my food to go and when I got home my poke had two dead flies in it. A third small bug was moving around before I even popped the lid open. Needless to say I didn't eat it and I can't get a hold of them to get a refund. Bummed. read more

For $20+ a bowl you'd expect a little more courtesy. Went here last night only bc it was the closest poke place close to the Rady Shell. The place was not well lit- red flag bc I can't see the freshness of the fish or veggies. I looked first at the cucumbers to see if they were slimy. It was definitely wet and soggy....thinly sliced and it was kept in water ?? I found that to be odd that it was stored in water? That was a first time for me and an automatic red flag so I passed on ordering anything for myself. My daughter was really hungry so she requested for a little more rice and the gal said no it was only the one scoop which was like the size an ice cream scoop. That was another first for us... we've never had an experience where they'll decline a request for a little more rice. It's not like she even offered to charge us more for the rice... Her attitude was not appreciated so we decided to not order the other bowls and left. read more

Good food and friendly/knowledgeable employees but the portions are really tiny. I mean a $16.95 poke bowl with "3 scoops" literally looked like a tiny single scoop of fish. I was glad for their gluten free options though since my wife has celiac. The employee was knowledgeable about which items contained gluten and advised me accordingly when picking toppings and sauces. I paid using a card and noticed on the Square email receipt that they charge a 5.99% credit card fee which is not disclosed or advertised in store, nor at the cash register. read more

Made my own bowl with albacore, salmon and octopus. The food was so fresh, it turned out to be my best poke bowl experience yet! Positives: 1) Fresh ingredients 2) Unlimited toppings includes some premium ones like avocados 3) Sauces are delicious! read more

Strolled along the waterway after visiting the Midway Museum to find this poke spot! Service was friendly, ingredients were fresh, portions were satisfactory, and price was fair. I chose the pick-your-own option. Satisfied all my poke cravings. read more
Yes, other Yelpers are right, portions are considerably smaller than other Poki shops, BUT considering the location I'm sure their overhead is pretty high. Quality ingredients! Really like that my tuna and salmon weren't glowing like other places with larger portions from food coloring. I'm particularly sensitive to fish that's turning and this was super fresh! I say it's worth it! Consider the location & quality before you dock them for the price. They also have a rewards program so make sure to sign up if you're local. Enjoy! ps, looks more colorful in my pic due to sunlight at sunset. It really doesn't glow with coloring! Except the roe was bright orange. read more
Decent as I ordered for delivery while visiting for a conference at the convention center. The fish was fresh but the ratio of toppings to rice was a bit off with a little too much rice. Wish they would've sent utensils with the order since it was hard to eat without a spoon and/or fork (or even chopsticks!). Ordering was easy and delivery was on time. read more
Got hungry after strolling through Seaport Village nearby so had to check out this poke place! I haven't had poke in a long time and this spot satisfied the cravings. I got the #1 classic ahi tuna bowl because I didn't feel like picking my own (definitely recommend you make your own bowl!) with half brown rice, half greens, medium spicy, and added some extra toppings. The poke bowl is sizeable and delicious! I don't have the best spice tolerance and medium spicy level was a little too much for me but still manageable and yummy. I enjoyed how light, fresh, and filling it is and only knocking off one star because it is on the pricier side coming at over $20 after tax and tip. The ambiance is great and it's in a shopping plaza which is currently beautifully decorated for the holidays. This poke shop is located within the plaza of businesses at The Headquarters at Seaport District. Unlike most of its competitors, Hi Poke offers only one bowl size which now costs $12.25. I believe when they first opened, the price was $10.75. Poke burritos were also available too at that time. You get three scoops of protein in a bowl which is not the best in terms of value. I've seen that quantity offered at prices south of $10 with a similar quality of seafood. For the PYOP (Pick Your Own Poke) Bowl, my three picks were salmon, tuna, and albacore to go along with all the standard toppings and base of white rice. Spicy mayo was my choice of sauce. The creamy zest from the mayo really enhanced the flavors of the bowl contents. What I did find unique on the menu was the warm bowls (chicken, eel, scallop dynamite, baked tofu). Those were nice choices as an alternative to raw fish as the protein. Overall, I gave this place a three star rating for my experience. read more

Excellent poke - custom made to your flavor preference. It's our new go-to place for dinner when we want something quick, healty and delish!! It's close to everything downtown, easy to get to and great location - get it to go and sit in Ruocco Park, the Seaport Village seawall, or Embarcadero Marina Park - or eat inside or in The Headquarters patio area - or at home - great wherever you want to enjoy it. Large enough portions to split for some now, some later. My husband didn't think he'd be a poke fan, and now it's one of his favorites. They opened on 2017 - we're glad they made it through the panademic crush - now let's support and eat there often!! read more
