I wish I could put 0 stars because that is the rating they deserve. I have never had such a terrible experience with a business than this one. My first time taking my truck to them, I was lied to multiple times about confirmation of the job being covered by insurance. It turned out that the "yes it is covered" they told me was a lie, and my truck sat in their shop for a week. I ended up taking the truck back and not getting the repair done there. I decided to give them another shot, after confirming with insurance and them that the requested work will be covered. They did the job, swapped the fuel pump out and put in new wiring, and I took the truck and left. After leaving, I noticed there was a CEL, and I went to get it checked out at Autozone. The code I got was linked to the fuel pump job that was just completed, and I took it back to AAMCO to have the issue addressed. They told me that not only did my insurance not cover that work, but neither did the labor warranty! They gave me the worst attitude, could not answer my questions, and did nothing to fix the issue they caused. This entire conversation with the rep, Emilio, and his service tech was had within earshot of their higher-up. I assume this guy was the manager or owner, but he was just sitting at his desk on his computer. I have gotten better customer service from a kid running a lemonade stand. Avoid this place at all cost. They do incomplete work and do not have the customer service skills to make things right. read more

After a whole month of my car being in the shop here. I was lied to 4 different times each time I called in for an update. Never once received a call for an update. Week 1. We have a dodge worker coming in to run tests with their specialty tool to pin point exactly where the issue is. We'll get your car back in a couple days. Week 2. The power steering pump is bad, $1800 Week 3. That didn't fix the issue, There's a short down the line, Our mechanic is taking home a part to look under his microscope to see if there's bad solder joints. Week 4. They found a break in an electrical harness and are getting it repaired. Week 5. The repair fixed the issue, we need to bring in a programmer to re-program your Jeep because it's not recognizing that it's a jeep. You can pick it up tomorrow afternoon I call the next day. Get put on hold for 5 minutes Called back 2 times, no answer Called back a couple more times and they forwarded my call. I drive down there and my car is in the same situation it was when I dropped it off a month prior besides the whole center console being out and the front seats out. The Assistant General Manager, John and one of the mechanics were in the office and were very apologetic about the issue, saying the office guy has been lying to everyone. They said that Rhett was fired and they'll be taking over.. Acted like they wanted to help me out. John gave me his cell number and said to let them have a chance to fix it to make it right, said he will give me updates every day. 4 days later, no answer, no calls, no texts. I called the shop.... RHETT answered, the same guy that was "fired" COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME The whole company is shady and makes up these lies together. Car reeked of cigarettes when we got it back I contacted the owner, Allan, on multiple sites. Never received a response. The mechanic didn't put the inside of my car back together right, so my whole glove box had to get reset. A piece was broken and missing. I texted the AGM John and the mechanic and neither one of them have responded after 10 days. Took our car to another shop and it was fixed in 2 days. read more

This place is a joke, I took my vehicle in for a warranty issue with my transmission that was serviced by AAMCO. The transmission was slipping and I had it replaced about a year and a half ago. After dropping off my vehicle I was contacted by Emilio and he stated that my transmission cooler lines needed replaced, my radiator hose was worn. the thermostat had to be replaced, and on and on. I approved the transmission lines to be replaced and when I went to pick up my vehicle I got half a block from the shop and the transmission was still slipping. I brought my vehicle back immediately and stated the problem. A week later they called and told me my vehicle ready to be picked up, I arrived and was met by the shady mechanic that told me that everything was go to go. Once again a block away from the shop still slipping and smoke coming from the vehicle. So I brought it back, John the mechanic told me it was ok that the transmission was over filled and it would bleed off the excess fluid. Still my transmission was leaking fluid. Now the third time I took it back for the leak issue a week later they told me it was ready to pick up. Two weeks after I picked up my vehicle I got a P0894 code for the torque converter. I decided to take my vehicle to a different shop to get fixed. The new shop after dropping off my car told me that there were issues with the previous repair ( ie, missing bolts to the tranny, hanging wires, on and on. This place is a clown show, if you want theatrics and no repairs this is your place. And another problem I had was with the shady mechanic taking me aside to offer additional work on the side. Damn you didn't fix my car right the first time why would I have you do anything else. In total this business does not honor warranty work they want to scam you, I will never use this place again, I'm purchasing a sign for my car to inform people of their shady business practices. Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. I bring my Volvo in for just maintance. I was starting a new job with a farther drive and just wanted to make sure everything was all good. I knew a few things needed to be fixed like my battery and my car outlets weren't working so I mentioned that. Jose came recommended to us and we felt safe going to him. Boy were we wrong. I get the quote back $900. Needed a new battery, outlets fixed and a new coolant reservoir. Okay, I was fine with it. I was a little worried how long everything was taking. Dropped my car off Thursday afternoon and on Monday morning it still wasn't even looked at. Eventually Monday afternoon, I got the quote and told them to go for it, since I started my new job Wednesday and had no other option at this point. Finally picked it up Tuesday afternoon and thought everything was fine. Drove it home which is only a few miles away no issues. While driving to work on my first day, I only get half way there when my car starts uncontrollably shaking and check engine light comes on. I called Jose while slowly driving to work freaking out. Jose tells me he will call me a tow and I asked if I had to pay for that and he said if it had something to do with what they did then no. I tell him I don't want to pay for a tow and he says to just give him my work address for the tow. Later when I get the quote another $480! For what you may ask? Something that was totally fine before I brought it to AAMCO PLUS towing!!! I'm a younger girl so of course he knows he can take advantage of me. I am trying to work at my new job, while dealing with a tow, finding a ride home and figuring out what to do. I tell my dad to help me because I don't know what is going on. My dad calls him with my mom there and next thing I know Jose is "scared" because my dad was "threatening" him. My dad is the sweetest human and would never. I asked my mom exactly what my dad said and she was shocked that Jose would even say that because my dad was simply just asking for an explanation. Apparently, Jose said rats chewed on something in my car that mind you is attached to the BATTERY they just replaced. He said it was not like that when I left and I must have a rat problem. I've lived at my house for years and years and have never even remotely seen a rat. But I leave my car with them at their dump for 6 days and all of a sudden I have rats at my house? BS. Absolutely terrible experience. Not only did he lose me as a customer, he lost my mom as a future one and the 2 customers that recommended me. I called 911 and when I was on the phone with them my speedometer read 0 and the EPS (Electronic power system) starting failing on me, the cruise control wouldn't work, and the mileage estimator was gone. I pulled off and finally decided that I can drive home. I made it home then went to O-riely to have them read the EPS code which was coming going on/ off. I also had them test my battery and he tells me that I need a new alternator and battery then recommends that I go to the Honda dealership. I then went to Walmart and got myself a battery charger/tester and charged the current battery for about an hour and then tested the alternator with it. The tester says that the alternator is bad also. The next day I went to Aamco who said they will do a free evaluation on the car, they tell me that my battery and alternator are fine and they have to do a $200 deep evaluation (they said it was the electrical system). After I left I get a check engine light that never showed up before. Remember I never got a check engine light... I only got the EPS light. The most infuriating thing is that there is a brand new dent on the side of my car that was NOT there when I gave them the keys (see the attached photo). I know this dent was not there because I inspected the car because of the guy who threw whatever it was at me. DO NOT GIVE YOUR KEYS TO THEM! After that I went to Cosco and bought a brand new battery and put it in the car. To do a sanity check I used a multi meter and tested the battery with the car off, it read 12.67 V. Then I tested it with the car on and it read 12.43 V so the alternator is NOT charging the battery like it should be. So... ITS BAD. Steer clear of AAMCO.... you will lose time, money, and probably get stranded somewhere because of their lack of diligence in their work. We took our Expedition there for what we thought was a full transmission repair. Turns out they straight up lied to us and overcharged us, blaming our warranty. We have receipts and codes of MSRP prices of what we should have been charged yet AAMCO told us we needed to pay $800 out of pocket because the warranty wouldn't cover it. LIES. The worst part is, the "repair" they did on our transmission completely failed a week after and I was stranded in the middle of no where with 4 small children and an overheated transmission that was leaking fluid all over. I paid $200 for a random mechanic to look at it and $600 to have it towed back to my home. What an absolute joke of a "transmission specialist". John at the front desk said his best trained transmission guy did the repair and if that is the case, that is terrifying. They offered no apology or explanation. We had it towed immediately to another shop. I wouldn't let them touch anything of mine. Lying and cheating people out of money...but mostly the lack of doing their job. It was an awful experience and even though cars can be fixed (by BBB approved companies only), the emotional mess and trauma from their hack job on my car will not. So I brought my F150 in here and spent $1,900 on a rear main seal replacement(which after shopping around discovered I paid more than what I should have per competion). Upon getting it back the leak was still present. I brought it back in with the understanding it would be covered under warranty. I was then told it was the oil pan gasket and while initially they were going to charge me, they ultimately agreed to replace it at no cost. Upon picking my truck up after having it there for two weaks due to one excuse after another(including people out with covid)I proceeded to open my hood the next morning and realized that they had left a funnel in my enginge block causing oil to splatter as the oil cap was obviously not put back. On top of that my battery cable was not tightened causing my battery light indicator to come on. Upon calling the shop they sent a tow truck to pick it up and after a number of hours told me everything checked out okay at which time I went and picked up my truck. The service was okay when I picked up my try my truck the tire pressure was on at it was on 29 while all my other tires were at 60 I walked back in to ask the manager John why they didnt addd air to it and he state that they are not a tire shop and for me to take it to one and I stated that I never lost pressure in my tires and that it wasn't like that when I took it in. He then stated if I was for real and got an attitude. I then stated that they saw the light was on because when I got in the truck it was on my tire pressure gauge and that they could've put air in as a Curtesy. He then stated that they could have but they didn't. They certainly lack integrity and respect at that shop. And they were test driving my truck like that, what a shame no one have's values anymore. John, Richard and team have been amazing every time for me in the last three years. They are really knowledgeable, kind and do what's right for the customer. They focus on transmissions and engines, but they've fixed various other issues with my vehicles so far. They were able to diagnose and fix a super weird issue with my Ford Escape (that other mechanics couldn't even replicate). Another time, they fixed the air suspension module on my Jeep Grand Cherokee - it's one of the more complicated systems on a vehicle and being able to fix that is a huge testament to their knowledge. If you know anything about transmissions, even if it's only adding fluid, you probably know more than the people working at this shop. Let's start off by they couldn't "locate" a transmission for replacement-- No communication on delay until we called and then I found several within minutes of searching the web and this shop even bought one from vendor I found. I received no discount for doing their job nor the delay they took for an excuse that was a flat out lie. This shop didn't know another model's tranny fit my vehicle and also had to inform of of that too. I received no discount for actually locating a transmission, something the customer pays a shop to do. John the manager will avoid your calls or will not call you back in a timely manner either. I only used this shop under a recommendation of a person who knew the district manager.. MY BIGGEST MISTAKE, he was worse to deal with than trying to contract John. When replacing the axle on our own discovered the axle nut was stripped completely due to cross threading and water in transmission fluid. Fluid inside transmission was never checked and witnessed by two other mechanics and on film when we did axle repair. No communication from shop or district office for several days about work done inefficiently, to refund price of new axle as soon as I send in receipt. As someone who was raised with mechanics, I do know axle nut are not to be reused, and they stripped this one so bad the mechanic KNEW it was not going on correctly and decided to leave my car in a dangerous situation. Also informed shop to ensure the gear synchronizer was good on used transmission when installing.. Today guess what other thing I found out what they did not check, 30 days tops of driving and now be out a car again due to negligence to do as customer requested The shop is horrible about communication and I do not trust their workmanship after seeing how they left my vehicle. I will be calling to see if my warranty work on the synchronizer can be done at another local shop. I will NEVER recommend or use this shop again, if warranty work cannot be done elsewhere, I will PAY to have it done before bringing it back to this shop It also does no good to call corporate. Very rude to not only me but the gentleman waiting after me. My van had a check engine light on, called the night before and spoke to Zach, he told me to bring it in the next morning. Sure enough he was there, I thought there may have been way more problems, but he texted me what needed to be done (I hate phone calls), replaced the gas cap, oil change and informed me the radiator hoses needed to be replaced. Since I don't want to put much more money into the car (even though the prices are reasonable), I left it at that and by no means did he try and sell me on a repair. I went in to get my oil changed in August. They told me my tie rod was in such bad shape it could break at any second and that the car should not be driven. I cancelled a vacation with family who was in from out of state because I couldn't afford the repair at that time. I had been a regular customer at another nearby establishment for years, but when they hit me with a $3,000 quote for work on my car, I decided to look at other options. Time was of the essence, because I was told that my car was "dangerous to drive"- after all, it needed new wheel bearings, new CV axle bearings, and a new AC compressor. The AC compressor was the most important repair, which would set me back $1200. I wound up buying a used AC compressor with the intention of having a mechanic friend install it, but when that fell through, I panicked. Remembering their radio commercials (that go out of their way to talk about easy finance options), I decided to give AAMCO a shot. Since it was after hours, I sent them an email through their website explaining my situation. I honestly wasn't expecting a response, but sure enough, Andrew gave me a call the next morning. He had already put a price quote together, and explained that they would be happy to use the part I had already purchased (it just wouldn't be covered by their warranty since it wasn't theirs). I set up an appointment for a completely free diagnostic later that day. When I arrived, I was able to sit down and talk to Andrew about my experience at the other repair shop, and I explained how the car was deemed unsafe to drive. He handed the keys to the mechanic, expressed my concerns, and I sat in the waiting room while the diagnostics were being performed. A short time later, Andrew informed me that my car had no axle bearing/wheel bearing issues at all, and only needed the AC compressor. The price he quoted was very fair (on the low end of what a repair like this typically costs and a full 500 dollars less than the other estimate), so I set up an appointment to have the work done the next day. They also assured me that the car would be completely safe to drive until then, which really eased my concerns. The repair was fast and on schedule! I was also impressed by the fact that they remembered me telling them about a possible power steering leak the day before- I had only briefly mentioned it and honestly forgotten about it when I dropped off the car that morning. Not only did they remember my concern, they also went out of their way to find the source of the leak (at no charge). In fact, when I was settling the bill, the mechanic came out of the garage to explain the leak - what tests he performed, how long it would take ro fix the problem, etc. I was really impressed. I really can't say enough good things about Andrew and his staff- they absolutely went out of their way to ease my concerns, get the job done right, and give me a fair price. I purchased a 2004 Audi A6 a few years back and it turned out to be a wonderful car I enjoy driving it and I kept up with maintenance and repair but the transmission had a problem and I took it to a few different shops first the dealer he gave me a price that was just outrageous. I then went to a local transmission shop that quoted me a rice of $4800 to $5,200. Finally I took it to Aamco Transmissions on South Bell Boulevard and was given a price of $1400 $1,500. I had a friend who kept telling me that it was no way they could possibly do it for that kind of money. The manager (Zach) was very helpful he informed me of the procedure and that there were different options that I could use for financing and that he would work with me on the price. I'm keeping my eye on the price because it had a good engine I also had a lot of work done on the front end so I know that the car will get at least another hundred thousand miles. I just picked up the car the other day and it runs so well the transmission shifts just perfect. Now I'm not a big fan of doing Yelp reviews but I was so satisfied with the work and the attitude that Zack had that I just felt I had to give credit where credit was due. Initially when I had the transmission problem I was just going to discount the price and sell the car well I have a different frame of mind today there ain't no way I'm selling the car I'm going to keep it because it rides well and with the transmission fix along with a 3 year 36,000 mile warantee and with the financing that Zach helped me with, how can I lose? I don't know what the other company that offered to fix my transmission for $4800 to $5200 was going to do with that extra $3,700 so I have to say thanks to Zach for saving me $3700 bucks anyhow. There are few times that I write a review for an auto shop. Ever since I moved here I have had a hard time finding a place that can deliver on their promises. And in Austin area it is hard to find a good and honest auto shop. Good and honest doesn't come cheap BUT they're reasonable. I don't know why I stopped there originally but I've been going back since. One thing they did do was help me fix a problem that caused my check engine light to go off for the last 7 months when no one else could. It was a simple $10 part and they charged $100 for the repair. Why no one else could fix and diagnose this, I don't know but I am happy to pay the expense since they offer free diagnosis that other places would charge for. i paid $3000 for a job of $1800 just because i thought this place worth to pay extra. Unfortunately, they got my money and did nothing correctly. within less than 4 months, the same problem happened to the transmission with same code of P0740. I have a court case against this company, it is going through very well. I paid $3000 to them, I back 4 times and got nothing except lies, I talked to Mike at head office and felt that they all are supporting each others. I repaired my car again in another place and paid $1500. I am going to sue this company for $50,000 but I will take just the amount of what i paid and spent. read more

It was great. They know what they're doing, they can explain why they're doing what they're doing, and they don't just fix what's wrong, they'll tell you if anything else is going to go wrong in the future. They're not the type to use an impact to put your tires back on. read more
