Great, honest repair shop. The owner is a veteran and has a great crew of technicians. It's never fun having a major repair job done, but the owner and service manager explained what happened with my transmission in a way I could understand. After reading the negative comments from other people it's clear that they should be reviewing themselves. it's not the mechanics fault that your car is broken and cost a lot of money to fix. Yes my transmission rebuild was expensive, but I am the one who neglected to have it serviced regularly and didn't do the research on the problems my truck transmissions commonly have. I was really shocked with these reviews. I had to deal with my after market warranty which took 2 months of them doing nothing. All this time the reps here at Aamco were patient. Once I had the warranty out of the scenario the mechanics were able to get my car fixed in less than a week. They were always in communication with me and never had an issue speaking with them. I was worried about the reviews but would definitely go back to them. They really told me everything I needed to do for after care and have a 10 day check up to make sure everything is going well. read more

I will never go back or recommend AAMCO. This was the worse server I ever had only cared about getting money. I had my jeep towed there to look at the transmission. I was told it was my battery not my transmission but they would go ahead and check the transmission fluid. When they checked the transmission they found metal pieces in the fluids and said some solenoids need to be replaced. Then they said they would hook up the RDI to make sure that was the only issue and it would be $895 to fix the solenoids and to do the RDI test. So I agreed because I was told $895 is covering my issues. Well turned out that was all a lie and they were just trying to get as much money out of me as possible with them knowing that would not fix my issue. The next call I received was saying they need to rebuild my transmission and was quoted $7,000-8,500. Obviously that is way more than what the car is worth so I declined. Then he proceeds to tell me I have to pay $450 for them to put my transmission back in and they can't have it done for another week. I said absolutely not you charged me $895 already for nothing. They put the transmission in the back of my jeep and I had it towed out of there the next day. This is unacceptable on any standards. I want my $895 back, no apologies, just do the right thing. My jeep sat for 1 week and I was charged $895 to receive it back in pieces. read more

I don't normally get to hyper critical of repair shops as we all know it's hit or miss at best but AAMCO in Maricopa is either incompetent, crooked or both. My transmission in my 2010 vehicle was shifting improperly, I was told it was motor mounts, didn't fix it. 3500.00 Then was told it needed a complete rebuild and they wanted 4500.00 more. A good friend is a mechanic and suggested a flush of the transmission, I noticed there was a fee for flushing the transmission on my receipt from AAMCO but when I called them to verify I was told the 300.00 flush was really just checking the fluid for metal shavings. 300.00 to rub the fluid between your fingers and see if it has shavings, wish I could get paid 300.00 for 2 minutes of effort. I then had another shop change the fluid in the transmission and WOW, everything works great again 180.00 AAMCO cheated me out of 3800.00 I would not recommend AAMCO to anyone. EVER! read more

They will not honor their work or warranty, they will try every way to get out of actually doing the work to fix a problem that they caused. The techs are sub par at best! I recently went to AAMCO for the ball joints on my Jeep. I have used this crew before, and they didn't disappoint me. They were through and diligent in their work. They fixed my ball joints and diagnosed other issues on my vehicle. ALL of the issues I came in with were fixed efficiently, cost effectively, and reliably. They even worked with me on pick-up times. It is extremely difficult to find honest mechanics who know what they are doing and that are trustworthy. Well, except at AAMCO in Maricopa. Under new management it appears from the last time I have been into this place but I have never had any issues. Most of my needs where basic car maintenance but I have always been Greeted in a timely matter, place is very well maintained and super friendly staff willing to help. Highly suggest making an appointment and dropping your car off vs waiting if you are in a time crunch. Folks have to keep in mind that Mechanics in general don't only work on your car at any given time so be patient and give these under valued tradesmen and woman some grace. AAMCO in Maricopa lost the keys to my car and refused to take responsibility or make any valid attempt to make things rights. AAMCO and Dave have cost me over $1,100 in wasted time and resources over the last 15 days and I highly caution everyone to never do business with this particular branch. Here are the facts: I called in and spoke with Dave on Friday October 10/1/2021 to make an appointment to drop off my vehicle for repair. They asked me to put keys in the night drop box with a note containing my name, phone number, and a brief description of what was wrong with it. I dropped off my car and put keys in drop box on 10/1/2021. On Monday 10/4/2021, I received no communication obviously they didn't see my keys or note because they did not find the keys right away. 10/5/2021, I called in before the end of the day to ask the status on my car. Spoke with Dave. He said he saw my car parked but didnt know where the keys were. Said he was gonna ask around and find them and get started on the car. 10/6/2021, another day with zero communication until i picked up the phone near the end of the day. I called in an hour before closing and spoke with Dave. I asked if they had gotten around to my car. Dave told me he asked every single person at the shop if they saw the keys and said they could not be found. He said tomorrow (thursday) they were going to tear the shop up and do everything they can to find them. 10/7/2021, again, i initiated the call around noon, asked if they found them. Dave admitted him and his crew tore up the entire shop and could not find them. I asked how they would go about this situation for replacing my key. Dave said tomorrow they are going to cut open the garage door because he thinks that the key may have slipped between the garage door panels as the key drop off is actually a mail slot drilled through the garage door. They said said they will keep looking and worse case scenario they will buy me a new key. At this point, I've been in a rental car since Monday, i explained this and asked how they would handle this since they lost my property and its costing me money. He said he didnt have an answer but he would talk to his boss about it. 10/8/2021, Dave called me and said they looked everywhere, inside the panels of the garage doors and simply could not find the key. Dave took responsibility and said he would replace the Key Fob and get it programmed as necessary. (Probably would have cost 200-300 but it was a nice gesture. Still doesnt make up for wasting my time and costing me excessive money). 10/11/2021, Dave called me at 10AM and left me a voicemail letting me know that they found my keys and would get to work on it. I called back and spoke to dave later in the day and he said it was just below the key dropoff location and got hidden behind the track of the garage door. said they would get working on it and call me back with a quote. 10/12/2021, No communication by either party this day. 10/13/2021, Dave called and asked for details regarding the car's symptoms to narrow in on the problem. Dave said he found a broken engine mount and said he would look into the transmission as i thought it may have been a transmission issue. 10/14/2021, Dave called and left a Voicemail stating he had a quote ready. Due to working i was not able to return their call during normal business hours. 10/15/2021, at 11:30AM i called into AAMCO maricopa and spoke to a female this time. I asked for the quote and she quoted me $1,018 to replace the engine mount. I referred to the lost time and poor communication and asked how they were going to make up for this and transferred me to Dave. I spoke with Dave, Laid out the facts that AAMCO was responsible for losing my property and was aware of it for at least 7 days causing me rent a vehicle for an unnecessary amount of time. He said he will get back to me with what he can do. I got a call back at 2:42PM from the female that called earlier and she said "I can offer $100 off or do you want to come pick your keys up." I've been waiting for all the results to come back in before posting the horrible job this establishment did. They did more damage than good! So glad I followed my gut feeling and had my truck towed out of there! I was expecting a diagnoses, but they quoted me $12,000 to fix my transmission, I said no way! They said $11,000, I said that's insane! They then said $9000! That's still insane! I ordered a brand new one for $3700, they quoted $2700 to put it in. I called 3 other shops, all quoted $750 to install a new transmission. II asked why they were so high, the owner said the other shops are like McDonald's and they are like Culvers!!!They charged me $900 to chop my truck apart, ruining the catalytic converter!!! The other shop the codes that AAMCO took showed The transmission had a bad cylinoid, No reason to rip my truck apart and wreck it. Then the guy was trying to tell me that it was $500 to program the computer, This transmission Programs itself! Theives, liers and con men!! Run as fast as you can, then he coned me I to signing a paper to release the truck! Yep conned me again! Yes I lost my temper!! Ripped off $900 from me and caused so much damage!!! Was charged $900 dollars for a transmission diagnostic and told that it would be applied to any work done. After waiting 2 weeks for my car to just be looked at, and me calling twice to follow up on it, they informed me I needed a new transmission. They offered to put a used one in with 60k miles for an additional 6k. They also tried to tell me previous transmission work had been done on the car. I got the car with 6 miles on it brand new so I knew that was completely false. By my own research I found out my vehicle was still under warranty! When I called them to inform them and ask for my vehicle to be buttoned back up, so I could get it to the dealership, they said it would be an additional 450 and an additional week of waiting. When I asked about the 900 I had paid upfront, they said that's only applied to rebuilds. So I ended up paying 1500 for them to make no repairs and be without a car for 3+ weeks. These guys are dishonest and misleading with how they operate. I will never bring any of my vehicles to a AAMCO and will be advocating for all my friends and family to do the same. If I could give this place no stars I could. My A/C high pressure was blown and my thermometer was bad as well. I need a front end alignment. It took them 2 days to even look at my car. (dropped off Wednesday 3/30/22). Here come Friday when the parts was supposed to be in 4/1/22 the wrong parts where sent. We came into this establishment to get my boyfriend's car looked at last Thursday. After telling us that the issue was fixed as they were closing their business, and we could come pick it up the next day, my boyfriend was told that they never quoted him for the fix and nothing was done. They quoted us about $300 for the fix and told us to come back the next week for the car. After they had told us they ordered the part, they waited until agin,last minute to tell us they ordered the wrong part and to come back the next day. We came in today, was charged about $400 and some change, went to drive the car and the check engine light was still on, along with the oil timer wasn't reset. New customer here. Had my splash guard underneath my engine on my Hyundai Accent partially break off and it was scraping on the ground, making my car completely undrivable past 20 mph or so. Brought my car in and Josh Rodriguez helped with the process and made sure my car would be taken care of. Johnny was the technician that removed the broken guard and replaced it with the new one. Drives like new and reasonably priced. Definitely recommend this shop. read more

We had to have our car towed there so we already felt like we would be taken advantage of and we were. The car was there from Tuesday night until the following Tuesday and they still didn't have a clue what was going on with the car. The first day they said it was the battery and the guy told me to bring him a new battery because it would be cheaper. The car sat in the parking lot all day with the hood up farthest away from any working bay. Didn't seem safe to me. They get the new battery in and move it in the bay to run diagnostics and they find the starter was bad. I told them that the car was running and it shut off while it was in drive. Not exactly sounding like a battery or a starter issue. They said they would charge me $150/hour to look into the electrical issue. They charged me to install the new starter and then wanted to charge me for another hour and a half to explore the issue because they couldn't figure it out. I couldn't figure it out which is why I brought it to them, they're supposed to be the experts here. I stopped by Friday night before they closed and they received the wrong part and they're not open on weekends. Monday comes by and I drove by and they didn't move the car at all. They were still clueless about the issue when I came to check in. They asked me to go to autozone to pick up a part so they could try to test something else. I was beyond fed up at this point. They had my car for a week charged me $800 and the car had to be towed to the dealership because these guys are freaking clueless. I am requesting a refund through this medium and will only take this down when I receive some money back for my car that still doesn't run. My attorney will advise me to take this down but until then it will stay to deter you and everyone else that reads this of the nightmare in service that was provided to me. Out a car for a week, $800 down the drain to people that didn't even fix anything. I honestly don't think they changed the starter and just charged me. BUYER BEWARE. This place has no idea what there doing. It was obvious from day 1 that the store manager dave I think was his name doesnt know how to properly run a store. I intially took my car in for an oil leak and assumed thats what caused my check engine light to go on. The service I had gotten was beyond unacceptable. Initially I dropped the car off on a Thursday. Called end of day thrusday spoke with a new hire employee who told me my car was rdy for pick up. I took an uber, to find out that they needed authorization for the work done. Which nobody told me what was wrong and what needed to be done. Huge miscommunication on their end. They gave me a "courtesy" ride in my own car back home. Lol is that even legal? I get another call toward the end of the day on Friday saying they need to order a part which they shouldve have already ordered that part since they did a diagnosis for the leak.. told me itll be done on Monday since there closed for the weekend. Come Monday they said they sent in the wrong part and need to reorder it from the dealership. Should be done tomorrow on Tuesday. I said ok no problem. However no effort to apologize for what was going on and cater to their clients who are the reason they are in business. I get a call tuesday from the store manager only saying the cobalt is ready for pickup. That was all never said thanks for your business or anything of the sort. I come to pick up the car pay $420 which was not what they orignally quoted me they said it was 355 at first but they had to order that part which they said they wouldnt charge me for labor on the second part but they did. I go in my car after paying to see my engine light was on still. They did a free oil change but didnt bother to reset the oil gauge in my car. So god only knows if they actually did an oil change. I went back in to express my dissatisfaction with the service. The store manager dave i beleive didnt care at all he was being VERY rude. And i told him im never coming here again and he told me and I quote " get the fuck out of my store" wow. will be reporting this to the BBB and ammco corporation.
