I made an appointment for my RV to be looked at because I had a small leak when the engine was running. I made an appointment and was told the diagnosis would take less than 40 minutes. I took the RV to this AAMCO . When I got there, checked in and sat down, I thought i'd verify that I would be out in less than an hour. The AAMCO guy looked at me like I was crazy and said that it would likely take longer. Since I had a meeting in 1.5 hours, I said I'd have to come another time. He then told me it would take less than an hour. As they looked at the unit, they just crawled under it and then made a quote for ~$330. They told me that one of the trans-cooler hoses was shot and that both needed to be replaced. I asked if it was the connection or the hose itself and was told that the issue is with the hose itself. I took the unit to another shop and they looked at it, looked at the hoses and saw that the hoses are in very good shape and tightened up one of the hose clamps at the connection. Leak stopped. The parts that AAMCO said were needed were also wrong, they wouldn't fit my unit had they ordered them. the connection fitted hoses they wanted to order had fittings and pre-shaped. The hoses that fit this unit are only cut-to-length hoses. So, I of course was grateful to the 2nd shop and will never go to an Aamco again. Dang, buyer beware with these guys. read more

By expecting me to know their "labor costs". You have our keys, our car, and have already done the work. So I am out $560 for my vehicle being worked on, money that I didn't have. I understand the cost of living is going up and I will gladly pay what I am quoted. But you quote me one cost and then bait and switch me with a charge that's $200 more. Very dissatisfied after I went in for regular maintenance service on my transmission. To replace the filters and fluid. I had no leaks or issues prior to service but now I have a leaking mess. I was concerned when they pulled me out in the shop to look at the pan. Of course there should be some mettalic material on the magnet as this is normal wear of the clutch material. They were however trying to panic me in to having the transmission overhauled. There were no strands or chunks of clutch material or nay other foreign objects. The other concern I had was how the salesperson Tony McDermott hauntingly stated "Oh you'll be back" I used AAMCO believing they were backed by a national corporate guarantee only to find out they are all independent shops that are just licensing a name for advertisement. If you have a problem at one shop you have to take it back to that shop. With over a dozen one star reviews I am just as frustrated with myself for not reading them before going here. read more

I purchased a living social deal here for three oil changes, a transmission flush, and coolant system flush. I brought my car here for the first oil change and had no problems. They changed my oil, told me that my torque converter seal was leaking transmission fluid, and said everything else was ok. What kinda got me was that the guy told me it would be about $2,500 to fix the torque converter seal. I thought that was a little outrageous. I wound up calling the dealer a few days later and they quoted me $1,500 plus tax. If the dealer....THE DEALER...is quoting $1,500 then I know other places are going to be way cheaper. Anyway, whatever, I didn't care so much about that. They did my oil change and I went on my happy little merry way. You might be asking...why the 1 star review then Jared? Well...I brought my car back there for the second oil change that came along with my voucher. So they did my oil change, I drove home. Well the next morning I leave for work and I noticed a pool of oil on the garage floor. I figured that they spilled some or something, so I wiped it up and went off to work. The next morning, the same thing happened. Ruh roh! Thinking Aamco did something wrong, I brought my car to Jiffy Lube while I was on my lunch break for them to look at it. They informed me that the technician at Aamco did not tighten the oil plug all the way and that it was on the verge of falling out. Had it fallen out, all of the oil would have drained out of my car and the engine would have blown. The tech at Jiffy Lube tightened the plug and my garage floor has been dry ever since. Now, I realize that people can make mistakes and something like this could happen. What got me really pissed is when I called Aamco to tell them. The guy who answered the phone could really give two shits about what I had to say. When I called I wasn't nasty or mean, I just simply said, "Hey, I was in there a few days ago and you guys didn't tighten my oil plug and it leaked and was on the verge of completely falling out." His response was, "Uggggghhhhh, well if it is still leaking, bring it back, ok? Thanks, bye." Needless to say, I won't be back to this location, even if they run other vouchers. read more

My 2008 Mazda 3's transmission was acting terrible after work one day, to the point I didn't feel safe driving home. I quickly looked up transmission specialists nearby that I felt I could trust to get an inspection and opinion on how to fix my car. This AAMCO shop was very accommodating in having my car brought over via AAA, and a free "inspection" done before giving me a quote/diagnosis. I left my car there for 3 days and received a phone call from the manager. He told me there would be no way to tell what the problem was without completely removing the transmission and taking it apart to figure out what the issue is. Price would be around $300 to remove the transmission and diagnose the problem. From there it could be another $600-$1200 depending on the extent of the damage. I determined there were way to many variables and that I did not trust this shop. I did some more research and spoke to two other transmission shops about this "offer" from AAMCO and they told me this was in no way standard practice and that cars nowadays can simply output a code to determine what the problem is exactly. I had my car towed to 2B Transmission & Auto Repair in Tempe. The problem ended up being the car's transmission computer, not in any way the actual transmission that AAMCO was determined to pull out of my car and take apart completely for no reason. The new part was pricey, around $600 but the peace of mind I had with 2B, telling me within a couple hours of dropping my car off exactly what the problem was and how much it'd be to fix was so much better than trying to deal with these crooks at AAMCO. AAMCO advertises on their site that they diagnose your car's problem and pinpoint exactly what the problem is. These guys obviously know what they're doing but will try to take advantage of you, stay away from these crooks. read more

The absolute worst client experience ever! Nick is not honest, he lies to your face and is an absolute thief. BEWARE taking anything to this business! I went into this business for a simple leak service and next thing you know my transmission is junk and doesn't work. Why I ask, "well there is debris in the pan". Ok does it shift? "Well yes it does", through all the gears? "Yes actually it does". Does it slip in any gear? "No it doesn't". What was supposed to be a simple service turned into them trying to up sale me after they completed the service that should have never been completed due to there diagnosis unless they are trying to double charge. When I ask questions about the chain of events Nick flat out lies. Then because I'm getting frustrated and he does know how to recover from his dishonesty's starts to come around the corner of the service counter for an altercation. Wow! FRAUD!!! I'm so frustrated. This place did a horrible job on my husbands work truck. They "fix" the transmission but every couple of months something goes wrong and we have to take it back. It's under warranty so they keep fixing it at no charge (thank goodness) but they put it on the low low low priority list. He'll drop it off and they say "oh it will be done on Wednesday". Come Wednesday, they haven't even ordered the part... this has happened multiple times. They will end up have our truck for a month when it should have only been a few days. We are a small business and it costs us $100 a day our truck is out of commission. And another amcco location won't honor the warranty. Edit: since the initial fix, the have had our truck 3-4 times since fixing stuff that they didn't do right the first time. And today, the transmission just "blew up" words from my husband. Somehow my 1997 Honda Accord ended up at this shop. I was told the transmission was shot and it was about 2k to fix. I opted not to fix it, because the car at that point is beyond economical repair. I was then told that if I didn't want to fix it, the mechanic who looked at it at this shop, Tony I think his name was, was interested in buying the car. (This all came 2nd hand info from someone else, not the shop directly) Immediately I knew something was off. I called a tow truck and got it out of the shop that same day. They weren't very friendly on the phone when I asked if the car was ready for pick up. The guy on the phone sounded kind of pissed that I was sending someone to get the car. I had the car towed to my mechanic who then asked me why I towed it as the car drives fine. I brought my car back the other day to get my much needed work done and the payment plan was the best option. My application came back approved pretty quick. I arrived at the shop right at 7am and originally had planned to go home, but decided to wait it out. They got my car in right away and were done is about 3 hours. I always hesitate when going to a new mechanic because I think they will talk me into work that I don't really need, but that was not the case. My check engine light is on (has been for about two years) and they write all the codes down that they got from it. When the manager asked if I wanted to get all of them checked out that day (it would take 2-3 hours) I didn't feel pressured when I said no. He understood because of the time and additional expense but let me know that I won't pass emissions so to get it done soon. I forgot to use my 10% off yelp check in deal but I can use it when I take my car back to have the diagnosis done for all of the other issues. When I mentioned that I forgot to use it, he let me know that they gave me some discounts anyway. After looking over my receipt it was about 10%, which was a nice savings. read more

They will diagnose your cars engine warning light for free - after which, in my case, they referred me to another local shop to fix the problem. Thinking I was going to pay them what they quoted me the guy at the front said they had a special going on and saved me $50. Brought in my car since 3 to 4th gears were hard shifting. Service interval was 60k for fluid exchange with filter but I waited till 80k as of today. Asked for a service of filter and fluid but AAMCO said it was internal to the trans and it would take 2 days for $2500 tp $3000. I replaced my owned filter and fluid for $40 and the problem went away. AAMCO will not put an estimate in writing. Why is that? You decide. I asked twice for the estimate. read more

I can't say enough about this Country Club Drive Aamco. It has the feel of a family owned and operated business. They have THE BEST customer service and stand behind their work. They do more than transmissions for sure. Since My experience has been so good with them from transmission to radiator , I'm going to use them as my go to place for my car repair. I drive a Hummer H2 and they have been more the pleasing to work with as I know my car isn't the easiest to work on. Now I'm going back for my AC. Over time, this Aamco has earned My business. having read positive reviews on google, my boyfriend & I made the mistake of taking our truck here for an oil change & transmission flush. after dropping it off in the early AM, we hadn't received a call by 5:30pm so boyfriend called- "yes it's ready n waiting for ya" and was hung up on before being able to ask the total cost or hours or anything. arriving just after 6:00pm, a rude & accusatory Employee refused to open the gate to release our vehicle because "you should've come during business hours" - which we'd have known had he not hung up on us less than an hour prior. he tells my boyfriend he shouldn't even be there, and we'll have to come back n get it in the morning. because I was now across town at work, he had to pay for an Uber home that night and an Uber back in the morning to get it- despite being able to physically see the truck from where he stood w this rude employee. Upon returning to finally get the truck, he was informed that they didn't do the transmission flush... WHAT? you held this vehicle hostage for an entire 24hrs to change the oil??? they then had the nerve to tell him 'tough cookies' when he requested some form of reimbursement for his time, inconvenience, and TWO Uber trips. Frankly, we may have ignored much of these hijinks had we not been spoken-to with condescension, like customers are an annoyance. DO NOT BOTHER. I REPEAT - DONT BOTHER. After having a horrible experience at another shop due to the guys lying about unnecessary work that was never needed (at Firestone) , I finally found a place that is super honest and takes good care of me! I brought my car in for transmission issues and mentioned I was close to over due for my oil change, I took my car in the evening close to closing time and dropped it off expecting to leave it overnight, I got a call shortly later that my car was okay and it needed some work that wasn't urgent, after returning to the shop that same day to pick up my car they explained to me the work that needed to be done and printed me a quote (which was lower price than a quote I received from another place earlier in the year), and guess what, they even changed my oil!! I was needing my 2011 Escalade motor and tranny mounts replaced. The caddy dealership stated the cost was approx $1350. I called and chatted with AAMCO about doing the work and he said without seeing the car it would be difficult to get an exact quote but said he was sure they could do better. I schedule the car for the work, dropped it off at 0700. I asked if they could look at the front end also. I was concerned about the way it turned and felt like it was 'buckling'- they said they would be glad to. The tech said they would try and have it done the same day but wasn't sure. Well, they not only got it done in about 5 hours the cost was considerably lower. They used OEM parts and not some foreign knock-off parts. As for the front end problem, they said other than new tires would help, everything was GREAT, and no need to spend any money. This is a 1st for me- a shop not wanting to do an upcharge. Way KEWL I also have a motorhome that has a small tranny leak and he said to bring it down and they can check it out. They work on almost every type of vehicle. I've had good, consistent experience with the Aamco franchise and this location is no exception. I went in to ask about my 'check-engine' light and spoke with Tony. Tony's not much of a conversationalist, but he and his shop are honest and what else do you care about at the mechanic's shop? I told Tony that I thought I was in need of a tune-up and he told me not to worry about it until the check-engine light came on when I wasn't using the lower-grade gasoline. Long-story short this place isn't looking to rip you off. He could've told me that I needed the $500 tune-up and I wouldn't have known the difference, but the shop has some integrity. read more

I would never want to take a car back there. After spending nearly 3000 dollars, they never fixed the transmission, it still leaks, and they keep the car for days on end to test. I take it home and it drives terrible. Took the car back twice, and it still was horrible. Went as far as to help them identify the issue, point at it, and they still couldnt resolve it with a bunch of lame exuses, and lies.Said they would call me back with a fix. I never got a call back or resolution. I wouldnt take your car or money here. These guys even give themselves positve posts against this. Terrible service, terrible workmanship or lack there of. And yes I can back up every claim here. They claimed to be the number one Aamco in the nation. If that is the case then all of them are terrible. I got them done a year ago and then before the year was up, the breaks were sounding like they weren't working. The breaks were under warranty and they took care of it, no problem.
