I was quoted $5000 for a transmission replacement and wasn't told what was wrong about my old one and they wouldn't quote it either then when i said i didn't want to do it they refused to give my car back saying i had to pay $800 for "restocking fees" because they ordered the parts even tho no one ever confirmed the job was being done. Avoid this place! Would give ZERO if possible. My son booked an online appointment for a specific service on 6/06/22. He then confirmed that specific service when dropping of his vehicle. After several hours of not hearing ANYTHING from them. He called and was told his vehicle was being diagnosed. Nevermind he told them and confirmed what he wanted done. So he calls back at 430 pm since they NEVER bothered to call him. The gentleman on the phone. The only good thing about this horrible place. Explained that they thought my son's vehicle was there for a warranty service. So they spent hours trying to call a warranty company. That NEVER EXISTED when applying to this situation. So my son was told they made a mistake. They would hold his vehicle and get it Tuesday. My son informed the gentleman he needed his vehicle to get to work. Unfortunately, they told him they closed at 5pm. He would need to get his vehicle now. After hustling to get there at 515. We discovered my son's vehicle in the lot. Open with keys inside. Once again the nice gentleman apologized, but that's HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES. PLEASE STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS LOCATION. IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME AND MONEY. Me and my husband was tired of using street mechanics to fix our cars because there service so we thought let's try a franchise,commercial mechanic even tho the prices would be higher I took my Nissan to Aamco on 746 Chester pike and my husband took his Volvo they said I needed a new transmission so we are in a payment of 3k paying off a transmission,you guess this place a business is horrible me my husband's and also my daughter took our cars there and guess what our cars hasn't been the same they are worst then street mechanics if you take your car there you we'll be taking it back there 4 more times after getting fixed then my husband Volvo was out the shop and it started smoking which broke and interfered with another problem of the car ours cars or trash because of them and they were no help when we complained and also my husband car was in there for months they would take cars and have 100 in line ..bottom line is you we'll be a fool to go there read more

I would give them zero stars if I could. First they told me they would diagnose my car for free if I got work done. Then when they told me what was wrong, they included in the price of the diagnostics. That was the first lie. The second lie was when they told me that I could use the credit I applied for towards my diagnostics since I wasn't getting work done there. Then, they backpedaled on that and told me it was not true and they didn't see that. That was the second lie. The third lie was when they told me that I needed a new transmission and it would be cheaper than fixing the one I had. I went to ford after and they diagnosed it for $160 and told me they could rebuild and it was cheaper by $1000 than AAMCO quoted me. Also, I had rented a car and they put off having my car ready for me to have it towed it by 4 extra days. Then, they told me they called twice and were going to have my finance account cancelled and refunded since I opened the account to pay for the repairs I never completed. They said I would be refunded in 24 hours. It never happened and I gave them 5 days before I called myself and the finance people told me no one had called. A WARNING: Do not EVER take your vehicle here. Keep reading this whole review... I'll start by saying I am 3rd owner on my vehicle. It was bought from the factory by a Ford Dealer for one of its salesmen(who was a family friend) to travel by highway to another dealership in another state. After 2 years of ownership he sold it to my Grandfather in certified pre-owned, dealer kept condition. He kept it until his eye sight was declining and he gave it to me on my birthday to help me and my struggling family during my dialysis and transplant. Although these people at Aamco, Prospect Park are considered to me to be "Masonic Brothers", I have left this place every time feeling like I had been ripped off. My vehicle had no leaks, and was running perfectly ( this car was taken good care of all its life with receipts to prove it)when the transmission released on a side street near my house. I had it towed to their shop on a flatbed to have it fixed. I had my transmission "replaced" being told that, quote "We DO NOT rebuild them, we replace them". paying $2,500.00 for a "NEW" transmission was out of my ability to pay, but they said they would work with me on payment to give me time without losing the use of the car. I went to pick my car up and was told that "they did me a favor" and gave me a free oil change and a 3 year warranty on an added master cylinder to fix the brakes that worked fine other than a slightly loose resevoir. I got the car back on a Friday( getting home and complaining to them that the car wasn't starting properly as if the starter wasn't shimmed, the brake light was coming on, and that it was holding back the power I expect and feel it trying to put out )I was told not to worry about it and to bring it back later. I had a trip going to Elizabethtown, Pa from Philadelphia(2 hour drive) with my family. Half way there the engine light goes on and the release finally came. Having built several engines and race cars in the past, I pulled over and waited 15 minutes to check the oil. Checking the oil proved double the oil in the motor(they changed the filter and threw more oil in it without draining the old oil) the pressure the added oil caused, blew the seal on the valve cover gasket and finally released the pressure the engine couldn't hanle. The oil drained from the new leak from then on. The over load of oil soaked the plugs, keeping the car from running properly. I called and asked about my power steering which was now leaking like a siv, asked them to fix it and mentioned the issues with the oil, trans, and brakes telling them that these problems were their fault and that I expected them fixed when they did the power steering. I was told they fired the guy that "changed" my oil because he was terrible. I took the car back to them and they replaced the spark plugs, coil pack, wires and the batttery, charging me for it and telling me that they did nothing wrong to make the car run terrible. I was called and told that the car was done and they test drove it to Maryland to make sure it ran good...??? Unbenounced to me, they had not touched the brakes or the power steering that was so important to me they said I could pick it up. When I did the shop was closed, I had to add power steering fluid to it and as I left. the brake light came back on. I also saw that the protective cover for the throddle body was missing and that the bolts on the transmission itself had never been touched. The transmission was the same housing that the car was sent down to them with (I ran the VIN)and with the standard dirt from 150,000 miles on it says the transmission was NEVER replaced, only used as to charge me for more than I needed fixed. If you like your car ruined, then this place is for you. I'm forming a class action law suit for the same type of issues against Aamco/Cottman Transmissions. Maybe some day these guys will realize that people go in to find out how far a company will go to rip people off and to catch them in their lousy games. At this place, you will only lose money.
