Think twice, do some research before you hand your vehicle over to these guys. They kept my vehicle for about 5-6 weeks and kept giving me the round around. Finally after a rebuilt tranny, which should last a long time just gave out after a year. I took it to another transmission specialist and he admitted that a rebuilt tranny should last well over 5 years. If it fails after 1-2 years they performed an incomplete job or did not install the parts that were necessary for a complete fix. Whew these dudes do not have it together. I made an appointment, and when I showed up it didn't exist. They "wrote down my number wrong" four times and made me late to an event that was over four hours after I was supposed to get my car back. To top it off they told me I didn't even need some of the work that they had done. Thanks for making me poorer for no reason. read more

Just. Wow. Spare yourself the three weeks of aggravation that I endured.

I brought my car in to have the transmission flushed and filled. After picking my car up, and driving it home, I noticed my odometer showed my mileage to be one thousand miles more than it was before I dropped it off. I made left my GPS on as well, and my past recorded statistics showed the car being driving in excess of 120 MPH! I don't know what kind of work these folks do here, but I will NOT be bringing my vehicle back again! read more

wanted to not give a star at all for this.. worse place to bring a car to get fixed. Car was dropped off Tuesday pm.. called daily and spoke to Lisa for update. It may be ready, or it may not be ready.. I'm not sure. I'll call you later.. call never came. Kept getting told they are looking now.. we are super busy.. always an excuse.. by Saturday no word on update, no follow up call.. I even bought the part they needed to fix. Called extremely upset by Saturday and then I'm getting yelled at by Lisa.. really? I was called 5 minutes before they close and told me they found the problem... Problem is with them.. they are rude, liar and no good to work with. They should not even be in business. I picked up my car w/out it being fixed.. Complete waste if time and energy. Save yourself time and avoid this place.. unless you want to be treated like sh*t.. read more

i took my jeep to aamco on silver street providence ri i had my hole to transmission rebuilt . good job i all most blew it . well think i did. and they fix it. good job good service . then this past sunday i had a leak . on the pan. i brought it back to them . monday morning . it was ready afternoon time . i pick it up NG. lisa & Frank are the bomb . fast service . so happy . i think all people should bring there car to them . they do all other things to . so i give them 10 stars . thank you so much for the work done right. I honestly wish I could write a better review, but hopefully this will be helpful to anyone out there considering this shop. They honestly seemed overwhelmed. It took over a week to get an initial estimate and that was after having to call them to do so. Initial repair took over a month to diagnose and fix. I received the car back and three days later, same issue. Towed the vehicle back again, diagnosis and repair again took another month. Still being patient and understanding at this point, even after having been told on numerous occasions that the vehicle would be repaired within a day or two. Finally received the vehicle back after the second month, two days later same issue yet again! The only reason I returned the second time was due to the warranty requiring me to, the third time was due to the fact that no one else wanted to touch the vehicle until they took another look two more weeks and it happened again. This time I went to the dealership and they diagnosed and fixed it within 4 days plus they provided a loaner without question. Hope this saves you at least a little time and money. read more

I have absolutely NO complaints ! They have installed a deeper trans pan, new filter, new trans shifter , rear brakes and axles bearings...and I watched them do some of the work. Were it not for a stroke I would be doing most of the work myself, however the owner and his staff have been more than accommodating. And the price has been reasonable for the work performed. I know this for a fact, having an automotive lineage. Take note: I have no affiliation with this AAMCO nor this repair facility. In reading other low reviews I would have to rate them as uninformed , misinformed and totally bogus. read more

Lisa at the front desk is wonderful. Very helpful and she doesn't try to BS me like most other auto shops.

My husband took his truck there on multiple occasions to have different things done (tensioner pulley, belts, tie rods, diagnostics). AAMCO essentially identified and fixed the Pep Boys N. Providence stores' big time screw ups. Lisa, who works in the office, was absolutely sweet and helped us any way she could to get through the headaches. Had my car 15 days. Kept telling me complicated electrical problem , we are checking all plugs, connectors, bla bla bla, Finally took it out and brought it to Wayne's service plus just down street. In less than 4 hours had tranny shifting like it should. No parts, just experts. $140 fix after 15 days at aamco. STAY AWAY!!!!! read more

These guys are GREAT. I brought my 2001 Honda Civic in after a Jiffy Lube in New Hampshire put the wrong fluid in my vehicle and Jim identified the problem and gave me a full diagnosis of the issue. The even mediated conversation with the Jiffy Lube that messed up my car. Everyone who worked there was friendly and did whatever they could to help out. Jim explained everything thoroughly so that I understood what was wrong and how to approach the issue. They held my car for about a week and in the end they didn't even charge me a cent. Despite this being a terrible headache, they made it as easy as possible and did it with respect and dignity. I HIGHLY recommend visiting Jim and his crew if you are having any transmission issues. Call beforehand though, because they get pretty busy. read more

Recently had an issue with my shifter being unable to move out of park. I took it to multiple car places and they told me it was most likely a transmission issue so I brought it to AAMCO. They said it was my break light switch, so they repaired it and sent me on my way. The next day my shifter locked up again. I brought it back because they were the ones who fixed my car in the first place. They agreed to order a part and bring it back in, in two days. As I left my car's breaks started to lock up and eventually led to my car completely breaking down. They towed my car and gave me a call later asking if I could leave it overnight. I never received updates from them on my car unless I called them myself. After 5 days at AAMCO I decided it was in my best interest to take my car to the dealer. Upon arrival to retrieve my car, it appeared that they had not touched my car in the five days it was there. The ladies at the front desk also refused to tell me any information about what work had been done on my car. Once my car was towed to the dealer, I waited 30 mins and they had an official diagnosis. The people had jammed my break switch against my break pedal causing it to squeak and lock up. And I needed an entire new shift box. If you plan on taking your car to AAMCO I would not recommend unless you want your car to sit for a few days for it to just sit in the dust with no repairs. read more
