On 2-25-13 I brought my car to AAMCO in Walpole, 2000 Main St, Walpole, MA 02081, (508) 660-1211, because my car was driving very slow & the check engine light as well as the break light & air bag light was on. I was told it was a transmission problem. They called me after 2 weeks and said my car was done. They charged my warranty on 3-25-13 and Steven from Aamco charged me an additional $600. When I retrieved the car I drove the car around the shop to test it out and the same problems still were there. I was told by the warranty that I was only suppose to pay $100 deductible and that they covered all other charges. The warranty did not understand why I was charged so much money when they covered EVERYTHING. Another thing that Aamco did was drop my car off to a Chrysler dealership in order for the CHRYSLER DEALER to figure out what was wrong with the car after I was already told my car was done. Aamco lied to me so many times about where my car was located. They did want to tell me that they dropped it to the dealership. I figured out on my own that my car was at the Chrysler dealership. I called Chrysler and spoke to the service supervisor. He told me he did NOT want to touch or work on my car because he didn't like the fact that Aamco ordered parts from an unknown company to have Chrysler install it even though Chrysler has these part. I was advised by Chrysler just to pick up the car because they are NOT going to work on it. I called Aamco to let them know that I knew that my car had been sitting at the Chrysler dealer and that it was not being worked on. Aamco insisted that the car was being worked on by Chrysler. I contacted Aamco repeatedly about this matter. They were upset that I kept calling and they were very rude and unprofessional. I was told by Aamco that if I cause a problem for them they would take my car apart piece by piece. I had the car towed from the Chrysler dealer to another Chrysler dealer to find out what Aamco did to my car. I called my warranty and I explained to them what happened and was told that they will contact Aamco fleet because If what I said is true then Aamco basically stole their money. read more

I found the people here to be polite, extremely honest and very good car mechanics! Here's my story... I brought my 1999 Ford Taurus to this Walpole Aamco after I was told by another auto shop that my transmission needed repair. The other shop charged me $80.00 for the evaluation and then when I turned down their offer to repair everything wrong with my car or nothing, which included shocks and things like that, they declined to give me the evaluation report when I went to get my car! Aamco on the other hand carefully evaluated my car for free! They told me that they were still working through the various problems when I called them up to check and I told them to take their time. After a full evaluation of the transmission, they also discovered that the engine was shot. It was explained to me that they could do the work since they do everything but tires, but that the cost ratio to the value of the 1999 car would probably not be worth it. I agreed. When I had trouble getting to the shop to retrieve my car, I was told that there was no problem and they told me to take my time and that they'd gladly hold on to it until I came to fetch it. What a difference between that shop in Dedham and this one! I sold off my car for scrap. When I get a new one, I will definitely be letting this Aamco work on my cars from now on! read more

I've always maintained my autos by the service manuals schedule, for 50+ years. Just the feeling there felt like a "scam" walking in. They have a front room "SELLER", and a behind the door service area. The seller appeared clueless not even recognizing whats what under the car, just selling. First it was a transmission rebuild, 4998.99. Then it was a used but rebuilt transmission, 2899.99, then it was a junk yard transmission 2500-1900. I found one on CL for 400. The car itself was worth about 2k. He was obviously working on commission. He kept me there 4 hrs, for a 1/2 hr service, they took the transmission apart telling me "effectually" its BAD!, REAL BAD! I went there for a fluid change. They claimed my lines were leaking, when I asked to see it they showed me my brake and cooling system lines! And the lines were fine, slightly rusted fittings! I would not trust them to wash my car! Names change, they can tell you their name is joe blow. Theres a young black kid in the office, another bearded, bandanna 'd guy in service and someone else who no speak english. The guy who no speak english, probably runs the "show". Their con men, and play you if it seems appropriate. read more

The front office was active with customers and the garage busy with repairs; yet, Matt made me feel like I was important and well cared for. He took the time to explain everything about my vehicle's issues, even though it made him late for his doctor's appointment! It didn't matter where I lived, they drove me home and picked me up, in a timely manner and I felt very safe. I've worked in auto repair myself in my youth. This crew claims their not the original crew being reviewed when asked about their overwhelming negative online reviews. They claimed I had multiple issues wrong with my vehicle when I brought it in for totally different service. When I asked to be shown the other problems, they said look at this, look at that, it was the A frame. There was nothing wrong with the vehicle, they did not repair what I brought it in for, and tried to up sell me their services that were not necessary or needed to generate themselves income. I had my Corvette transmission rebuilt and they took extra care of my car when they were repairing it and they went above and beyond to make sure my car was taken apart and put back together without ever knowing it was ever taken apart. Sal kept me informed with the progress of my car and he even showed me the transmission disassembled and pointed out what exactly was wrong with it.
