It's hard for me to believe that this shop has any negative reviews at all, because I couldn't have had a better experience. I brought my older BMW into Haskins for service and an estimate after being rear ended. They quickly provided a detailed estimate and ran through a few alternatives that I could think about, but sadly my insurance company determined that the car was a total loss and gave me the option of a payout for the value of the car. After agreeing to the amount, my insurance company tried to reduce the settlement and pay me considerably less. The people at Haskins were not obligated to help me negotiate with my insurance company (they were being paid their full amount regardless), but they went over and above and fought for me. They convinced my insurance company that what they were doing was not right, and I was paid every dollar I was promised! I could not have had a better outcome. I would recommend Haskins and their people to anyone (especially local Wellesley/Weston neighbors) needing automotive help. We are lucky to have this shop in town!! read more

Three problems with this place: 1. They are so focused on selling you a long list of costly optional maintenance items you could do, they lose focus on the issues you brought your car in for. I brought my car in for two critical items and they gave me a long list of suggested repairs that left off the urgent issue I brought the car in for! They bundle unnecessary add-ons to drive up costs. 2. There is a disconnect between the mechanics and the people who interact with the customer. Every minor question they have to go check and you don't get real answers about urgency or safety. 3. What kind of place closes at 5pm? Makes it really hard to pick up your car if you work for a living. Not customer focused. Literally when I asked if they might be able to wait until 5:15, they said "nope, we lock the door at 5pm" I hope they change the way they do business, but I won't be going back. read more

I took my 2017 Jeep in on 7/25 and was told I needed four new tires due to dry rot. I was also told in the technicians report that my tires were dated 2014 AND OLDER. I said that was impossible as I had just gotten four new tires about 8 months earlier. My Jeep in garaged at home and I have a one mile commute to work. I was told the previous garage had installed EXPIRED TIRES on my Jeep which explained why they were already dry rotted. I told them PLEASE DO NOT DISCARD THOSE OLD TIRES as I will need to return them to the garage that sold them to me 8 months earlier. I asked for pictures of the date codes on the old tires and Haskins told me that "tires don't have date codes." Since I was getting the tires back I assumed I would check once returned to me since I KNEW tires had date codes. Next thing you know they "LOST" the four old tires. They expected me to accept their apology for losing my property but I demanded that provide a resolution since now I didn't have the "expired tires" to return to the garage that sold them to me. Well, weeks later Haskins claimed to miraculously find two of MY tires that I had been told were long gone - and these tires were dates 2022.I pointed out that the two tires they claimed were mine couldn't be mine per their own technicians report. They then admitted to errors on the technician's report and apologized again. They refused any compensation for losing my property and for lying to me multiple times. They apologized for what they referred to as "inaccurate communications"... DO NOT TRUST THIS GARAGE! Not even with personal items inside your car, let alone any work they advise is necessary. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! I have since learned that they have a horrific reputation... well deserved. read more

When I went to pick up my key, the employee handed it to me and said "bad!" in a mocking tone. I asked, "What?" but she ignored me and shut the door in my face. Great attention to customer service and accommodation to our needs. unfortunately our car was not repairable but they were great.

After a 32% increase from the original estimate to the final bill, I expected a satisfactory result. But, upon inspecting my vehicle at pickup, not all of the scratches to the clear coat were removed from my 2026 SUV (less than 3,750 miles). The head repairman wrote, "We have completed our portion of this claim to the best of our abilities.... There is nothing further we can do to this vehicle...." When giving an explanation for the poor quality repair, Mr. Robert Haskins said his team's work was "commercially acceptable," even though he acknowledged a new vehicle with such low miles deserves the quality I sought. Haskins agreed the estimate for the repair was underestimated, even after the 32% supplemental increase shown in the final bill. Haskins offered to sublet the vehicle to a professional detailer to remove the rest of the scratches, increasing the bill further. Also, Robert Haskins initially claimed he could not show me the parts (or pictures of the parts) they replaced, because his company conveniently have no record that I asked for the parts. After I paid in full to be done with it, Haskins was suddenly able to produce the parts. Ultimately, Robert Haskins did not reduce my final bill, even though he conceded scratches remain in the clear coat. read more

I went in yesterday to ask about having my check engine light diagnosed. The young guy who greeted me had his mouth full of food and I could barely understand what he was saying. He was perfectly nice, but not great presentation. They wanted $190 (!!!) just to use the simple plug-in diagnostic tool that other places have done for me and not even charged me! I would always tip them but I was shocked this place really expected someone to fall for this BS! I know it's Wellesley, but this is super obnoxious and I would never recommend them to anyone. Unfortunately did not have a great experience here... Popped my right two tires and said they would take care of it swiftly. 2 Days later they had not started on my car and told me they would have to do it after the weekend. Additionally, Over the days when I was calling to check in on it they keep telling me different stories depending who answered. It made me confused and uncomfortable not knowing I could trust their word. Today I towed my car out of their and took it my local shop ( JD Auto in Chestnut Hill) not only were they able to replace the tires within an hour I spent considerably less than I would here. Con artists and liars. On his way to work yesterday, my son arrived at his destination and realized that he had a flat tire. We took advantage of our roadside assistance through Liberty Mutual, and the tow truck driver recommended Haskins automotive. He must be getting kickbacks/incentives - so never, ever, ever let your roadside assistance recommend this place. Ask someone local where to take your car because this shop is NOT IT. They took full advantage of the fact that the car was towed there and that our hands were tied. The female, who we are assuming was a receptionist or an office manager, told my husband and my other son that they weren't busy and that they should have the car looked at and hopefully the tire plugged within a half an hour. Approximately five hours later at the end of his workday, my son showed up to pick up the car and no one had even looked at it. The manager fed my husband a line of BS about how busy they had gotten with "appointments" and that it would be the first car in line this morning. Mind you there were still 10 minutes left in their workday and they were already turning my son away, stranded. If that was true, and if it really was appointments that prevented them from servicing our vehicle, then the girl at reception would have told us that there was a possibility that they wouldn't get a chance to look at the vehicle yesterday. Because that's the decent thing to do and that's the way to run a business within integrity. But I digress. They took away our option of having the car towed somewhere where it could quickly be fixed . At the end of the day, our son was stranded far away from home and we had to pay for an Uber to get him back. Not only that, my husband had to take off his work to drive up there TODAY after telling Haskins automotive not to touch our vehicle because they'd lied to us . He brought his air compressor and a spare tire. When he got there to Haskins Automotive, he could clearly see a nail sticking out of the wheel. No one at Haskins Automotive had even glanced at the car yesterday. Luckily, it's a slow leak and it's gonna cost six dollars to have it plugged. Here at home by our TRUSTED mechanic. I can say with absolute certainty that if we had permitted Haskins automotive to service our vehicle this morning, we would've been told that the tire was unpluggable and that we needed four new tires, You have been warned: stay away from these people, even if it's a simple oil change - this is how they choose to run their business . Went in for a routine car inspection. They told me I needed four new tires even though my car is less than two years old with ~20K miles on it. They then offered to change the tires for me (convenient...). I said I didn't think we needed new tires and didn't want them to change them for me. They gave me a restricted pass on the inspection and said I needed new tires before I could pass. I ended up going to the dealership where we bought our car (about a year ago), and they agreed the tires did not need a full change. What a racket. read more

I think Haskins usually does a good job with auto service at a fair price but on my last visit I was disappointed when they messed up my appointment. I made an appointment for just an oil change and inspection and told them that I would like to wait for the car. They said come in at 8am and they would do it right away. Turns out they didn't even start on it until 10am. The young man at the counter made up something about them getting unexpectedly busy but then the older man at the counter came clean and said my car was marked as a "waiter' but someone missed it. I had two separate experiences in the course of one weekend. 1) My front bumper needed repair so I ended up here via Geico recommendation, as they are a preferred vendor. After a few days and some phone calls, the regular cadence of emails, follow up calls, and confirmations, my car was ready to pick up and that process went smoothly While I was at the counter, paying my deductible, the shop mentioned To me that my car had gone through the 27-point inspection and it was in need of a new battery. They told me about the different types they carry, that they could install it that morning or afternoon if I wanted. I went with scheduling an appointment for that following Monday morning. They said "great, see you Monday." 2) I went back on monday morning and they informed me they didn't have the battery at all and it would need to be ordered. I could wait 90 minutes for them to get one or reschedule. You can imagine how disruptive and disappointing this is when I made the time to get service for my car and drive down on a Monday morning, to be told that they weren't prepared for the work **they** had scheduled me to have done. This resulted in me needing to now sit in traffic to go all the way back to Brighton, on a Monday morning. The extended customer service I received from the man behind the counter was "sorry. We didn't do it on purpose" While the body work was quality, I am not likely to return. I can't rely on this place of business, and I am not interested in giving a second try at the expense of my time and resources. read more

I brought my car in for maintenance and service. The workers indicated it would take 1 week. It ended up taking 4 weeks and during that time, I paid out of pocket for a rental car. But the best part is, the car wasn't even fixed after I picked it up 4 weeks later. Not sure who is running the shop but the mechanics are not skilled. There are many more affordable, experienced mechanics. Would not recommend. Save yourself time and money and go elsewhere. There are plenty of other auto body shops. read more

We started using Haskins Automotive a few months ago and that decision has cost us thousands of dollars. They inspected a vehicle we recently purchased. We drove the car 500 miles and were then faced with $3,500 in additional repairs which had not been detected during the inspection. After spending $900 to address one of these issues, the issue was not resolved and Haskins was completely unapologetic about it. Psh! First to review?! Ha ha! Haskins, you are totes going down. Booyah! Some people say I have bad luck. Others suggest my aura is negative and I send bad vibration waves to people, thus incurring misfortune. Regardless, my car was sideswiped in a hit and run, while I was sleeping, because I was home sick. The smallest violin in the world played for me. But, I digress. I brought my baby here, since they came highly recommended by my insurance agency and guaranteed the job within three days. 5 days, $600, and a lot of aggravation caused by Eric, the phone attendant and potential serial killer(Norman Bates' blond cousin) and Bob, whose inability to fix my car on time and complete a sentence without a ten second pause rendered me fuming....later, I have my car back. The work looks okay, so far, but the years I shaved off my life dealing with these guys and the stories they made up about my car were so not worth it. The complete lack of service, efficiency, and courtesy they extended to me ensure that not only will I never go back, but I will fume a little each time I drive by this vortex that made my irrational fear of the hassle of ever needing to fix my car come to life. read more

We definitely prefer going to Haskins than to a dealership, where you're just another number. Our repair took slightly longer than quoted (Mon v. Fri.), but we were happy with the work. (They repaired what was wrong in one visit, while our dealership did several thousand dollars worth of work and never fixed the original problem.) We dealt with Rob, Eric, and another gentleman, and all were friendly and professional. Rob in particular went the extra mile, staying open an extra hour, in a snowstorm (!) so I could return a rental that day. Very impressed. It's that type of service that will keep us coming back, and why we love giving business to small family-owned places. read more

These guys get it! I brought my 2008 Land Rover to them last year to solve a suspension related issue. They determined it needed a new air compressor. They replaced it and it worked well up until a couple weeks ago when the air bag suspension wouldn't hold air anymore and the car was riding dangerously low and bottoming out on bumps. I brought it back to Haskins and they determined it was a fault within the air compressor they replaced and it was still under warranty. They replaced it free of charge. But it gets better. This time around the replacement compressor wouldn't work properly because for some reason it needed to be brought to a Land Rover dealer to have it programmed. Haskins drove it to the nearest dealer about 20 minutes away, had it prgrammed, drove it back and tested it to insure everything was in perfect order. Did they charge me for the extra service? Not a dime. I wouldn't hesitate to have my cars serviced at Haskins in the future. They are personable and willing to go the extra mile for you. A firm handshake speaks volumes! Brought my Scion 2011 XB in to replace the bumper after a rear-ended accident. I had bad experience with Auto Body shop so I was skeptical at first but I chose to go there as it was near my house and had been in business for years. They had to get approval from the insurance for the extra work to be done. At the end, it took less than a week to complete the job. Most importantly, the color of rear bumper blended very well with the body and you could hardly tell that it was a replacement. The staff are mostly friendly. read more
